🌈Hello, ladies, and Happy July!!!
🌈We're halfway through 2021. How has it been treating you? Hopefully, everything's going better than last year!
🌈What have you accomplished so far this summer? What are you still hoping to acheive?
🌈Do you have any upcoming plans that you're excited about? Or anything looming that's concerning you?
🔴If you've never been here before, please know you are welcome to join at any point in the month. All you have to do is post something, and then BAM!, you're one of us.
🟠In this group, we post our weekly and monthly goals and provide support and motivation to each other as we share our triumphs and our struggles. This group is all about accountability.
🟡All are welcome and, if you think you belong here, you do! No matter how much you currently weigh or how you measure (or don't measure) your weight, we'd love to hear from you.
🟢Victories, both scale and non-scale, are great to hear about, but, conversely, we know that weight loss isn't all sunshine and roses. If you're going through a rough patch, please feel free to be honest and vent your heart out. The struggle is real and we're all here to support each other!
🔵Let's aim super high this July!!!🟣

ayyy, first one here!
Thanks as always for setting up the thread and keeping the party bus a-rollin', @RavenStCloud !
The first half of 2021 was certainly better than the first half of 2020, or the last half of 2020, and really most of 2019 too, if I'm honest. I think one of my biggest accomplishments so far this year has been tightening up family dinner on Sunday. Hubs and I have eaten dinner with his parents almost every Sunday for the past ten years, and it's taken me this long to figure out how to not eat 4000 calories at that meal - they serve everything "family style" with lots of appetizers, sides, and always a dessert. My weight loss journey is not and will never be on the list of things I want to talk to my inlaws about--they're fine people but their opinions on this kind of thing are trash and I'm not interested--so I can't whip my food scale out at the table, and for so many years I would basically blow up my whole deficit for the week just at that one meal on Sundays. Maybe not the whole thing, but I was definitely hindering my progress, at the very least.
I'm looking forward to finishing Strong Curves. Weeks 5-8 ramp up the difficulty - I think I'll do a little mini Session 0 on Saturday after my regularly-scheduled workout, which will be Week 4/Set C, to figure out how to do the new exercises and dial in my working weight.
I think I should also take measurements this weekend since it's been about a month. Maybe I'll even remember to post them here, LMAO.
I'll post my first July weigh-in this Saturday but, as per usual, I'm going to put my template here so I can copy and paste it later.

Thank you so much, @RavenStCloud!
I think it was this time last year that I found your threads. I wish I could say I've made some awesome progress in the past year, but I've unfortunately had a few setbacks. I'm not letting it discourage me though! This month I'm going to weigh ever day and post my weight on Fridays.

Goal for July: Under 220
I'm working on accepting that the scale fluctuates a LOT for me. It's not unusual to see that I'm up 3 or even 4lbs from day to day. This makes it really hard to feel like I'm making progress because there is never a clear downward trend. I just don't drop weight quickly. Not sure if it's metabolism or what, but the most I can seem to manage is 4lbs. So these fluctuations really mess with my head and make me feel like nothing is working. Luckily, I have an app that smooths out the spikes and that is helping. I've also started my own diary thread here where I simply post my weight every day. It's all about the big picture.
Anyway! I love July 1 because it's like a mini New Year. A great time to take stock of plans and set goals for the next six months.
Last summer I fell in love with kayaking, and this year I'd like to try stand up paddling. I'm also swimming regularly at the local pool. I wish they stayed open until like 10pm but unfortunately they're only open from 1-6 and its SO HOT and no shade during that time here in Texas. I'd give anything for a pool where I could swim in the mornings. But at this point I'll take what I can get and will find a way to make it work!
Onward!

Thanks @RavenStCloud! This is a great thread.
I'm returning to MyFitnessPal after a 4 year gap. I lost a bunch of weight 4yrs ago but gained it all back - So I began again in June. The first month went great and I'm hoping to repeat that in July.

Hello, new here to this thread. I’ve been on mfp for YEARS and have ridden the wagon, fell off, abandoned, forgotten and jumped back on… I’m back here in combination with a another program. 5 weeks strong and a good amount of weight loss, so I’m excited to keep it up with accountability.
Feel free to friend me, I can use all the accountability that I can get!
Im working hard with my husband to get in better health together.
I normally weigh in daily so it will be a nice change to see a slightly larger number here for loss.

Always appreciate the thread @RavenStCloud
I have been using MFP consecutively since end of November. I am down 30 pounds. I have also kept up a regular walking schedule that has helped so much for both my physical and mental health.
I think I would safely say I am an empath. I am like a sponge and soak up other peoples emotions. I have been a social worker for over 32 years, 7 of those as a college professor. So being empathic is not a bad thing but I continually need to be self aware.
I say all this because some of my most profound aha successes have been off the scale and I’ve dug deep around the underlying stuff of the 50 year rollercoaster with my weight and body image.
I am proud of that . Hard work and still have more to do. So if you too are dealing with decluttering all the “stuff” that has contributed to where you are at today know you are not alone.
You are worth it. You are deserving. And most importantly you are not alone. We can do this!!!!❤️💪🏼

So far this year it's busting out of the 220s; made it. Keeping a gym routine as best as possible with getting my strength training in at least on my off days from gym days with friend.
Upcoming. I'll be going to the Adirondacks starting next weekend. Have access to all the walking I want to manage. It'll be Mom's food but was going to try to see if I can cook more of the meals. Less stress on both of us that way. Hoping no fights this year.7 -

Happy July everyone.
I did my start of the month measurements this morning. Every measurement went down at least 1 inch, I had a few that decreased by 2 inches! I ended up breaking my tape measure. There is a button to release it back into the case. When I pressed it, it moved quickly and hit my desk. In doing so the little plastic piece came off. Now the entire tape measure is in it's case and there is no way to get it out. I am going to have to buy a new one before the end of the month so I can do my August measurements. I have not taken my monthly progress pictures yet. My husband is on a work call so I need to wait until he has time to take them for me. I am excited to compare them to previous months.
After working from home for the past year I return to work in person next week. I have mixed feelings about it. My main concern is my daughter while I am at work. My second concern is adjusting to a new routine, especially when I am going to fit in my exercise routine. I find I don't do as well when I work out at night before bedtime, it messes with my sleep. I am toying with the idea of getting up earlier and doing my routine before I go to work but that would mean I have to go to bed earlier... it's summer, we tend to have a lot of late nights with our neighbors around the pool and firepit. I am already having guilt about all the extra hours I will be working, compromising all the summer fun I had planned for my daughter. I would rather not take that away from my daughter. She enjoys those. Working out as soon as I come home is another option but I feel guilty about that. I know as soon as I walk in the door my daughter will want me to play with her or go swimming. I know it will all work out and will be fine once I figure out and adjust to a new routine.
I mentioned last month that I bought new exercise equipment. I have been playing around with a new routine. My routine will be on a rotating basis. I decided I am going to stick with my 5lb weights with my upper body exercises a little longer before moving up to heavier weights. I will be incorporating the Bosu for abdominal exercises and the thigh master for leg exercises. I also added in planks.
1) Cardio/ Arms, Chest, Back - with 5lb weights
2) Cardio/ Hips, thighs and butt
3) Cardio/ Abs and Planks
July goals:- Figure out a new schedule and stick to it
- Track my water on MFP - I drink it but never log it.
- Stick to my new workout routine.
- Buy a new tape measure. HAHA

However, TOM is here and I am bloated. So I suspect I will see a great fall sometime next week. I have wanted a lot of salt lately, possibly because I'm sweating a lot, and that is also playing into it. I weigh daily just to keep an eye on all this bouncing about and not stress it. I saw 242 last week and that's probably closer to the actual weight.
Plans for July:
Keep up the loss and the good practices despite the heat and humidity.
Work on self-care.
Advocate for myself with the doctor towards the end of the month.6 -

Ok here we go!
I am 48, 5'3" and I really don't want to be fat at 50, so I need to get my butt in gear and get the weight off! My goals are simple--Eat Less, Move More! I try to remind myself every day that I am worth the work it takes to get healthy and fit. I recently started trying to follow a Mediterranean diet--move fruit and veggies, little bit of meat and seafood, whole grains, limit sugars. We'll see how it goes! I usually weigh myself every day because it helps me stay motivated to see the numbers going down a little at a time, but I'll be posting here on Mondays because (hopefully!) it will keep me a little more focused on the weekends knowing that a weigh-in is coming!

Happy July everyone, glad to be here again seeing everyone getting one step closer to their goals. Trying to find a new routine at the moment, when the schools stop my routine has to change to fit round the kids so I haven't been out on my usual walks and it's been too hot for the exercise bike so I'm trying to fit in what I can while staying within my calories and drinking at least 2 litres of water each day. Going away this weekend so there should be more walking and I'm going to try not to over indulge while I'm away.

🌈What have you accomplished so far this summer? What are you still hoping to achieve?
I've logged in MFP more than ever! I'm on week 2 of exercising - keeping it strong at 1 hour cardio on the bike 5 times a week. I've lost 11 pounds since may! My goal this summer is to lose another 10 pounds by the end of August.

I’m -1lb from last week but I actually suspect that I’ve lost more and am retaining water - my city just went back into lockdown 🙄 so I’ve added in daily walks after work to keep me sane. I’ve been working from home for 15 months but working from home + not able to see people and everything but the grocery store being closed = me feeling stir crazy! So, I’ve been going on 3-5 mile walks in the evenings which has been SO refreshing. But that does make me wonder if the additional workouts (in addition to my weighted interval training) are making me retain water. If not - that’s ok! Still a pound down!
This week has been a weird one for me - I don’t know if it’s the uncertainty of lockdown or what, but I just haven’t been feeling hungry. This is where MFP really helps me too - not only do I have a daily cap but I also have a daily minimum that I HAVE to eat, whether I’m hungry or not. As someone with a history of eating disorders, that minimum really helps to serve as a guard rail if I ever catch myself skipping meals or not eating all my calories. So, I’ve enjoyed some generous portions of my low cal ice cream in the evenings this week! Yum!
My goals for this week are to find some fun new recipes (inspired by @goal06082021!) and experiment with them since I’ll have some extra time, continue with the walks after work when I can squeeze them in, and continue a daily squat challenge a friend and I have going on (100 squats on our lunch breaks! It’s been fun and super simple to do from home). For once in my life, I’ve actually been drinking plenty of water - between 3.5-4L every single day, so my goal in the next week is to keep it up!
My NSV of the week has been that I am now exclusively wearing clothes from 2015-16. People (who see me on Zoom) keep thinking that I’ve gone shopping but I haven’t! I’ve just regained an entire wardrobe. 🥳6 -
Hi! I'd like to join but I only weigh once a month (weekly weigh-ins are a little triggering for me). Is it ok to just post my weigh-in at the end of July or is this thread really for weekly weigh-ins?
Sure you can! I weigh myself every day and keep my own log of that but I post here on the last day of the month. It's just inspiring to read posts from everyone throughout the month. Welcome aboard!3 -
Hi again everyone, Jess 35/F/Sydney Australia
SW 1 Mar 2021 107.3kg (236 lbs)
CW - July 2nd: 89.1kg (196.4 lbs)
GW for July: 87kg (191.8 lbs)
I meant to come back and update again during June, but time just got away from me - I had like 200 notifications and no time to check them all, but please know that I am with you all!
Personally, I got to ONE-derland some time between 26th and 28th of June!!!! I had a big "whoosh", lost 4kg (9lb) over about 3 weeks. It's hard to believe I have lost 18.2kg (40.1lb) in 116 days. I have to say that I'm pretty proud of myself for not giving up!! I have had some ups and downs but I still logged every single day. Last time I weighed this low was about 10 years ago. I now just really, really, really hope that I can KEEP it off...
Also my best friend @adrizzlyautumn (with whom I used to enjoy the biggest of meals) has seen my success and is now also on MFP, so hopefully we can do this together!
Goals for July:
1. Keep trying to eat smaller portions. I must remember I can stop when I am *satisfied*, I don't need to feel *full* after every meal. I don't need to eat every scrap on my plate.
2. More exercise: Trying to do some every day, but it's so COLD - it's WINTER here! Also, Sydney has gone back into Covid-lockdown, so I'm working from home... it has been pretty hectic.
3. I want to try to do more strength exercises - firm up a bit and get rid of these saggy arms.
4. Drink more water.
@goal06082021 I hear you with regards to your inlaws overfeeding -- you can't not eat their food because that's rude or at the least it'll be noticed and commented on... my mother is the same. She noticed I was eating less, so I told her I'd lost 15kg. She looked at me blankly and said, "oh, I hadn't noticed - I must see you too often" (she doesn't). Then later said, "well, we can't all lose weight quickly." Like, honestly!?! Anyway - my point is, it happens to all of us, so I totally know how you feel. Could you maybe bring a low-cal dish to share - "hey, sorry to step on your toes but I found a new recipe I wanted to try"? Good luck!!
@jnettie73 How exciting that you return to work in person! (well, I think it is anyhow - life is finally getting back to normal!). Can you walk to/from your job? Get off the bus/train a stop or two early and walk the rest of the way? Go for a walk in your lunch break? Can your daughter exercise with you, or maybe you can turn up the music whilst you're on your bike and she can dance whilst you cycle? Can you walk her to/from school?
@everyone else - keep up the good work, love seeing all your posts/comments/chit-chat! I will try to be more active on here this month. If anyone wants to add me as a friend please do so - I find it easier to keep in touch that way and will happily share my diary for accountability and will like and comment on your feed so we can motivate and support one another9 -
@stortina congrats on reaching Onederland! 🎉👏🏻👏🏻👍🍾4

Thank you for starting a new thread Raven StCloud.
So, I missed last weeks weigh in, just due to being so very busy with all the packing etc. I lost 1lb which is a win, however I just missed my June goal by 1lb which was annoying.
Onwards and upwards though, and this last week I’ve lost 2lb which has meant that I’ve hit my mini goal of another half stone lost, so my new mini goal is to get to 182lb/13 stone. Being realistic, and taking into account all the recent weeks I’ve had no movement on the scales, I very much doubt I will hit this this coming month, but I am aiming to lose 4lb during July and anything else is a bonus.
I am also aiming to get more exercise in once we have finally moved and started to get settled in. The ‘big day’ is now only 3 days away and quite frankly I’m having a total mental breakdown about all the mess and chaos I’m currently living in. I have a tendency to be a bit of a neat freak and all these boxes everywhere and stuff all over the house is really messing with my head. I know I’ve got to suck it up for now as it’s all part and parcel of moving house, and it will be the same the other end once we start unpacking, so I’ve got to deal with this for a while yet, but I have to say, I will be so relieved when this is all over, I am hating every single second of it right now. I’ve just got to think positively and remember it will all be done soon. The next time I write a post on here, I will be living in a different house in another town. Yikes!
Here’s to a healthy and positive July for everyone, may all your goals be met.
