Did week 5 day 3 on Friday, and day 4 today. (took an extra day because back was still tender and whole body hurt from baseball lol)

Yesterday afternoon's workout:
These were done after my entire deadlift set (135 X12, 185 X 10, 225X10, 295 X10, 335X10, 370X8, and 400X6), Shrugs, Curls, and cable Rows. I had to wait for the one rack that goes low enough with the safeties so I could rack pull otherwise would have done these right after deads. (445X5 for three sets).
I'm starting to dislike rack pulls, but they are an important part of my program, building up to a better/stronger deadlift. GIF was sped up to incorporate entire set. Next week is even heavier

Week 6, D1 done!
This week is a challenge. My son's 14th bday today. Baseball on Wednesday... But I'm so close to done, I can't stop now!

I did two sets of 3 @ 115lb for bench tonight. That was my 1rm weight!

Week two of reintroducing squat singles into training while more than likely eating in a caloric deficit for first time in 3-4 years.

Keep up the great work everyone. New target goal for being cleared to lift is labor day. hope to be joining you all soon but mine will take a while to get back to w here they should be but at least I will be able to do it.4

Week 6 is done. Only two more weeks!
This week will be another tough one... Baseball is on a lifting day, so I'll have to lift Monday, Tuesday... (which is 3 days in a row). And then Fri / Sat.7 -
Super stoked!!! I did 120lb x 2 for three sets tonight! (former 1RM was 115lb).

I got back to the weight room Thursday, but my lifts are so light. I looked back at some notes from 2019, and I was about +30lbs on squat, +40lb dreads, +20 bench. So disheartening...4

Thing is... You're still lifting. You haven't quit. And that's what really counts. If that weight is where you want to be again, I have no doubt you can get there. I'm still a ways off from where I was for squat, and I don't know that my deads have changed much. But at least we're still pushing and growing right? 😁1 -

So... I realized last night that my plan was a 7 week plan... which means... I am DONE!
Therefore, Week 8 is going to be a 1RM testing / light week. I'll test the 1RM, then do a light workout for that specific grouping.

OK I’m old as dirt besides which everything hurts, so I guess I come at this a little different but I figure every day I show up is a win.
I’ve had to tell myself, I’m lifting way more than people who don’t, I can’t increase every time, eventually there’s a glass ceiling, and although I don’t table dance in 6-8 inch heels or HIIT Mr Baby One More Time every second day, I do yoga and other stuff, and how awful would it be if shooting above my ability in one medium shipwrecked the other things I love doing?
It’s not like I’m competing. Problem is, I think folks like us compete with ourselves. I’m both proud to be one of those people nowadays, and a little concerned about folks like us knowing when to reel it in.
The constant push push push, at least for me, is part of my OCD type AAAAAA personality.
TL:DR Jeez, lady, if you’ve been away for a minute, cut yourself some slack.
