I love the camaraderie I see on this thread....and especially the adorable kid pics!
I'm so ready for the weekend but it will be busy. We are having friends over for dinner tonight. I found it really challenging to cook healthy when having barbecue but I have saved up for it. Tomorrow is a day with the Bigs....my two oldest grandkids...age 5 and 9. I will be ready for rest by the time they leave!

Met our friends for lunch. Had a grilled chicken breast with mixed greens. But did have what was a “Hummingbird cake”. Never had it. Really, never heard of it. It’s kind of like a spice cake. Normally, I wouldn’t have had it but Ming wanted it so we shared it. Just had water and then tea to drink.
It’s after 6 and Vince wants something for dinner. Personally, I’m really full. I don’t think I’ll get my steps in today
Margaret – I understand that if a dog isn’t feeling well, it will eat grass to sooth its stomach. Glad you are calling the doc
Anne DE – do you have to take your car for inspection? Here in NC they do the inspection at the garage. I’m pretty sure it was that way in PA, too.
Diane TN – welcome!

Kelly … congratulations on the future grandson! Let me know what you think of the immersive VanGogh. I’m on the fence about getting tickets.

Margaret I hope the doctor was able to sooth some of the wasp pain. You are the second person today that has had to go to dr because of similar reaction. I have to go immediately if wasp stung. 2 bad reactions. Even the sweat bees cause a lot of swelling. I hope you and your fur baby are feeling better!
Welcome Diane in TN

My husband and I are attempting to cycle at least one 50 km ride in each month of this year.
July's 50K is done! Bit chilly and windy on the way out, not so bad on the way back. Starting temp 5C (Feels like -0.7). Highest temp 10C (Feels like 4).
Thankfully we got it in before the weather turns. Apparently we're to have a winter storm system come through along with abnormally high tides.

"Get to do"s and "chose well"sChose well: Thursday: BP, dogs to powerline, incorporated corrections and sent out minutes. Friday T’ai Chi, BP
Bonus: Thursday chopped another half tarp load of salal. Friday: recycling, hike and stroll with Re, typed hymns, reconciled and paid Mastercard bill, researched flight and car rental costs for Greeley trip.
Get to do: take BP, dogs to powerline, dog group, make whey lemon pie filling, reconcile Medicare part B statements, figure out how to see what’s using all our mobile data, USE those torture bands/do that BB&B video, call S, fire district: drop off cookies, transcribe district volunteer forms, research NFPA, grant NIMS requirements, ongoing: input 2019 call sheets into NFIRS, work with chief on equipment letter, substance abuse policy, NFIRS mutual aid and other missing details, Monday confer with Susan and Rhonda about interest for serving on next board, likewise Lee skills/tasks, ask for boots donator contact info, appreciation letter or certificate to boots donator, index mutual aid files; watch STAS Day 20, declutter sideboard, learn new dances (Nothing but You, Do Your Thing, A Little Less Broken, Blame it on my beating heart, Homesick; practice dances: One Margarita, I’m so used to being broke, All Night, Pure Movies to Wine, Beer, Whiskey, I ain’t never gonna love nobody but Cornell Crawford (Alley cat),); finish mulching flowerbed, invest another 10 minutes in prepping living trust, Freddie’s for complete series TDAP <$48, get Shingrix vaccine, find and configure a screen time popup, figure out where to plant the last of the naked lady bulbs, and soon as it warms up above 50 and dries out below 60% humidity I’ll tape and spray paint those rusted areas of Aunt Elsie’s stove, ask Terry about GB’s FD firetruck tax levy – contacts, media, advocate???, Reward: inventory seeds, plan this fall’s garden, wishlist replenishments (Milena F1 orange peppers and beit alpha cukes next year).
Jump back July:
23-Remember that all feelings and situations pass in time: yes this. Breathe. Be patient. Guidance will come.
24-Choose to see something good about what has gone wrong: chance to get to know Re a little better.
Rebecca Thank Goodness! Cheers!
Margaret glad you’re calling the Dr. That was a lot of wasp stings.
Katla, I had to google “transported far beyond the northern sea” it was ringing bells but I couldn’t remember how the song began. Thanks for the memory, and so apt for Kylia’s SIL.
Heather I like the word “mender” too. Well chosen.
Like Lisa, I feel I’m not accomplishing much and it’s true, I’m not. House needs vacuuming, laundry mountain needs excavating, office needs both surface and major decluttering, step counts below target, and yesterday’s CI way over CO. Instead I seem to be spinning my wheels about possible trip to Greeley, CO for the roving Skye Terrier specialty. $pendy vacation just to see some dogs and meet a breeder who might have a litter this fall, that might have a black male puppy, that Joe now tells me we shouldn’t get at our age. On the other hand, if I don’t go this time I might not have the chance again. Have put almost all thoughts of a new to me SUV on the back burner, didn’t see anything I loved, the only place left to look is Joe’s Hemmings Motor News for a restored classic. Antsy, unable to settle, need to get my serenity back.
Lighter, lovelies!
