Good afternoon all.
Did some grocery shopping today and hubby and youngest son went with me to walk around The Oregon Garden. Always a happy place for me.
Allie -- I had forgotten about the payments to the OB. I remember with all of mine I did have to pay for everything up front. At one of our first visits, we had to also meet with the finance people. I also remember it being stressful, but I think, from my limited experience (3 births), it seems to be standard. (I had different practices with all three).
Love love love the pictures of the grandkids. They are so adorable and make me smile every time.
Hugs to Rita, Lisa, Margaret, and anyone else who needs them. I am passing them around freely lately.
Lots of energy this weekend. Feeling really good. At one of my appointments this week, the PA said, "You're in very good health." I kind of sneered at her and said, "Well, yes. Except for that one thing."
But yes. I am thankful that I am in good health, overall. All of my systems have checked out. And it looks like the spread is limited to 2 vertebrae and a rib, so I am still hopeful that we will try to kick it as far into the corner as possible. (Well, that's what the PET says. Biopsy on one spot scheduled for Monday morning to confirm. I don't know if she will want to biopsy all three?? I'll find out Monday afternoon.) I have accepted that this will be a life-long condition, but my hope is that as long as I am in "treatment," we can keep things under control for as long as possible. I am planning to beat the odds, while remaining as realistic as possible. In other words, I am no longer expecting to be cured.
My heart is strong and my brain, lungs, and liver are clear and healthy. Still trying to get my steps in every day. I have kicked caffeine and alcohol completely and eating as "clean" as possible, as they say. Blood pressure is crazy when at the oncologist or radiologist, so the oncologist made me go talk to my primary doctor. My blood pressure there? 128/73!!! He said I'm fine; not to worry; and just to accept that my system is going to be upset and stressed when I have to talk to oncology and radiology and forget about it. The next day at the radiologist? 180/100! I'm not sure she wanted to let me leave, but I told her that I'd just been to the primary the previous day and he said it is fine. She kind of rolled her eyes and said, "well, if he says so!" and made a note of it.
Love and appreciate all of you.

Did Michelle Dozois Fat Blaster DVD then took my walk. The plan for tomorrow is to do yet another part of the Weight Loss Yoga DVD
Went to a Dollar General then to Sams to get snacks for the pool party then Food Lion. They can’t print out my last check stub.
Lisa – I know I’ve mentioned it on here before, but to TEMPORARILY relieve itching (like so you can get to sleep) put your blowdryer aimed at the itch. Leave it there until you can’t stand it any longer. The reason this works is because the heat breaks up the histamines that cause the itching.
Terri – happy anniversary you newlywed
One of the radio stations around here is having “Christmas in July” where they play Christmas music. How depressing! (You can tell that I love summer). I just hope they don’t play all Christmas music for like the whole month of December
Dana – welcome!
Cheryl – welcome. Personally, I don’t feel that Premium offers something that I feel I can’t live without. I guess it’s really a personal thing.
Nikki – welcome! What wonderful accomplishments. Keep it up!
Flea – thinking of you. You are truly an inspiration, what a good outlook you have.

WOO-HOO! Australia and Canada take 1 & 2 in the Woman's 4 x 100 Freestyle Relay with Australia setting a World Record!!
M in Oz4 -
And in other news, I've dropped about 1.3 kg (just shy of 3 lbs) in the past week!!
I'm not quite sure if that's "real" because the day after a larger-than-usual exercise effort can produce outlier weight numbers but it's so nice to see!
M in Oz7 -
Good idea on a cold winter's day.

Drj63 – You are not too late to join the discussion. Welcome!
(((Flea))) – Sending prayers & good wishes your way.
Machka—Congrats for Australia and Canada in the women’s 4X100 freestyle relay.
I have been knitting a baby blanket for my DDIL and have made more than one mistake. I think I’m finally getting things in order so that the baby blanket will be done in plenty of time.
Have a good evening!

24-Choose to see something good about what has gone wrong: chance to get to know Re a little better.
25-Notice when you are feeling judgmental and be kind instead: oh would that I could!
Katla yes, now I remember. So many childhood songs, “there’s a hole in my bucket…” “the red red robin…” “a little black duck…” “tree liddle fiddies in a liddle widdle pool…” then the songs we sang in school or camp… sweet memories.
Lisa thanks, I didn’t know that about diesels. Reliability and longevity should be my priorities, but immaturely I’m rejecting most I see because I don’t like how they look… ;{ Now Levi, I how he looks
Margaret glad your quick action helped. SMH that the urgent caregivers didn’t insist the coughing woman wear her mask over her mouth and nose.
Happy Anniversary Terri! Well done!
Kim you’re right, breaking some of those “to do’s” down and actually doing them will make me feel better. Thanks!
Rebecca, Joe is like Lee, to him the range has only two settings, “on” (high) and “off”
Welcome @drj63 Dana from Southern IL. Never too late to join in! Late on the last day of the month Barbie will post a link to the next month’s thread, be sure to watch for, and book mark it.
Annie congrats on taking off more weight than you expected!
Beth ((hugs)) and thanks for understanding.
Welcome @Cheryl4808Spark! Can’t advise about premium, the free mfp has served me well for a long time.
Welcome @ShaninNEllison Nikkie in Vegas! Con VERY gratulations on such good progress already!
Flea thank you for your courageous example. (((hugs)))
Machka the bicycling pics but most especially Rhody on a cold winter’s day.
Joe got out the weed whacker and tidied up the powerline meadow, then walked with me down the cistern path and cleared the fallen tree by breaking the branches off. We discovered more garbage scattered by Mr. Bear two weeks ago . Joe said something about huffing and puffing after being too long in the chair, and I agreed We have a date Monday to chop, trim and otherwise clear the somewhat overgrown upper part of the cistern path. Not sure I can get him past the curve, he really dislikes that area and is always on the alert for cougar or bear. He’s right of course, but I love the creek/cistern area, it’s like a magical place to me. Thankful Joe is so protective so I can enjoy it.
Lighter, lovelies!

I'm taking my car to the muffler shop to get a hole in my exhaust looked at. The oil change garage said I need a new center muffler, new converter and new rear muffler. I don't see how one hole can ruin three parts. Plus what about just patching the hole? I hate these trips because I never know if they are lying to me.

When I first started posting on this thread, there was a woman from London who walked almost everywhere she went. She had lost over 100 pounds and was a great inspiration to me. One of the things she said that helped her was limiting her time at the computer to 30 minutes. I took her suggestion and it made a great difference in how much I am able to accomplish in all areas of my life. She doesn't post on this thread any more, but she is still logging onto MFP every day and has a log in streak over 3700 days. She is only one of many woman who have inspired new healthy behaviour in me.

Good idea ... except if most of what you've got to accomplish is on the computer!
Today was winter. Cold, rain, wind. We even had snowflakes at one point!
I did get myself together and onto the treadmill for an hour of running/walking - training for next weekend's event. My husband rode his indoor bicycle for about 45 minutes.
Other than that, I was in my new armchair, wrapped in a blanket, working on my computer. I entirely revised one cycling route for my club from scratch and fixed two others. Meanwhile I was watching TV - Olympics, Johnny English ...
I did get up and put away two baskets of laundry toward the end of the day.
But most of the day I wasn't inclined to move from my nice warm cozy spot in front of my computer and TV.
Tomorrow it's back to work ... data.
