Aug 14: No Weigh in Rats! Got out of sequence on my morning routine. No sense weighing after breakfast.2 -
Some personal experience. During the early part of the pandemic, I was losing weight and making it look easy. This went about 4 months and I got to weights I never dreamed of seeing again. At that point, I decided to relax on the weight loss, if it happened it happened, but I wasn't going to "worry" about it anymore. The first 5 pounds took about 3 months to come on and once I realized they were planning to stay, I lowered my daily calorie intake. Then another 5 pounds, and another lowering of intake. And another, and another. By January, I was barely eating 1700 cals a day, more like 1500 cals most days and some days even less, had regained all the weight I had lost...and was slowly gaining. I went to a dietician who put a quick stop to my ideas of "diet" at the time. She put me right back at 2200 per day, which is where I was when losing last spring, and it took a couple of weeks to get stabilized, but I'm down 13 pounds and going in the right direction. This, by eating the appropriate amount for me and my daily activity levels.
Moral of the story? There's a reason MFP suggests minimum daily calorie intakes.2 -
