I'm in !!I have 15 to get rid of to get back to my 60 pound goal.
71 year old female...5'5" ...I used to be 5'7" but arthritis hit and I lost two inches, so now that two inches is squished around my waist like the billows of a big accordion... ...Oh, well. I'll just keep working on it.

Just joined The Sparkle Project (by Rebecca Weller) I am not trying to push Rebecca Weller on mfp hahaha better make that clear....I just love her!
Slight issue. Its gona involve going vegan for 6 weeks (it's optional, don't have to go totally vegan, but the recipes are vegan, plant based).....If I didn't owe out so much money this month, I would have easily bought all the ingredients without a backwards glance...but alas I'm skint this month 🙈 so, I'm gona look through the Project, and see what it's all about just now.
Feels good to have atleast enrolled in the course. Little bit of extra help won't go a miss. I could use the information about nutrition anyway, and I have been playing with the idea of going more plant based (although, maybe not 100%).

I am enjoying reading all of your posts and agree what was said about plateaus. Keep going and don’t give up, girls especially since I am now higher than my starting weight 😖

I was away last week and I came home sick from my vacation…lots of lazing about but did do 3 days of strength training….
Had Dental surgery yesterday so now my food has to be NO solids for 2 weeks. I am nervous the scale will just go up!!
I bought jello and beans and realized after how high in sugar these are. I will have to be careful of sugar next time I’m shopping and read labels

My goals for this week are to add 45 min daily of cardio, 2 days of ST and 5days of stretching (yoga or Pilates)

Hello MFP friends👋Always great to catch up on how things are going with everyone!
I was not going to weigh myself this week or bother with posting, as I am still not making a concerted effort to stay on point with my goals of healthy foods, exercise, or self care🥴🙄Just feeling an overall malaise these days and just....BLEHHH.
But after coming on here and catching up.....I must say I feel a bit better and will re-commit to myself to stay on this journey!

So the numbers are going up slowly, which is no surprise as I am binge eating, not exercising and not sleeping great.
I WILL keep making the effort to get back on track - I know how much better I felt in all aspects when I joined this challenge back in Jan. When I truly committed, put the effort in and was consistent. The weight came off, confidence came back, mood improved and I felt so much better!

Progress notes:
I felt hungry for a couple of days and enjoyed healthy snacks between meals. Although I never exceeded my calories I hit a bit of a plateau. Since I have banned those healthy snacks and consume the calories at meal time my weight is shifting again and equally important: I don’t feel hungry.
Exercise: There is not much happening but I will get more active soon again. I just don’t want to focus on too many things (water intake, healthy food, daily meal preparation, no artificial sugar, no alcohol, sleep,…) at the same time. 😊
I have noticed that I listen more to my body.
I haven’t consumed any sweets. On Aug 1 my blood sugar levels were at the upper end of the normal range, they have now dropped by 0.2. I am very happy with my progress.
Goal weight Oct 30: 627 -
I'm really excited. Just join our rec center. It has a pool! I have missed swimming so much. So, I went with my suit and towel and the pool was closed for an hour due to lessons. I'll go back though. I went and worked out on the elliptical instead. (not in my swimsuit )
I can relate to seeing a picture of yourself and thinking, that's how I look? We have these shatterproof mirrors at school. You should see how I look in those. Like a pear! They are distorted but so is my body. Anyway, I am sticking to this goal of losing. I wrote some dates on a calendar of 5K walks/jogs I plan on doing.

I am a bit discouraged because no change shows this week and I had been off to such a great start last week’s weigh-in. There were a couple of days of 150 last week but not this morning. (I considered posting yesterday’s weigh in, which was 150 but want to be fully honest.) So, I am striving for 150 or 149 next Monday to maintain 1lb overall per week. Thanks for keeping me accountable.
Sometimes, it is salt or water intake or both. Weight can fluctuate 5 pounds from day to day. Not sure why. So, don't be discouraged. Over time, you will go down.5 -

I'm Michelle, 50. I started the year at 185, started the april challenge at 170, and am currently 164. My goal is 10,000 steps a day, swimming 3 times a week and to lose 2-3 pounds a month, so 6-9 pounds for the new challenge!

Just got back from a decadent beach vacation. Starting fresh with the challenge. I weighed 164.8 this morning. I have a wedding September 25th and I would like to weigh 155-157 by then which is doable if I eat sensibly. Best of luck to all. The posts here are very inspiring!11

It's the end of August and I've not done as well as I hoped. I had a lot of social events following the end of lockdown (and being fully vaccinated) as well as my birthday, so I wasn't expecting August to be too positive. However, it is going in the right direction!
My next challenge is to manage my eating and find time to exercise when I start my first full time teaching role in September.10 -

Checking in. It's not good news. I have not been strict with myself. So, I expected this gain to happen. I was too embarrassed to post this but being real is what this threads is all about. I also exercised more this week which for some reason I do see a few pounds go up (when I lift weights).
Simple goal for this coming week:
1. 8 glasses of water every day... or more.
2. swim laps (just joined our rec center)
3. Allow myself two snacks (chips) this week instead of each day!12 -
I'm writing my goals on my calendar. The calendar is working well. I am signing up for two 5k races today; even if I walk most of the way. One is on a trail in the woods. Sounds fun.10

That’s fantastic and sounds like a lot of fun! With Fall being right around the corner I signed up for an aqua fit class once a week. I haven’t done one in like 20 years. Looking forward to a “me” night without kids.
