Dropped out of high school at 17 years old, i'm the only person in my immediate family who doesn't have a university degree . Other than that life is good.4

Same but I did go to trade school and was the first in my family to seek further education. Actually my whole family dropped out of high school, even my parents.
I think I was the only one to actually graduate from trade school too. Others made attempts and dropped out. Yet I do have the worst job still. 🤪2 -
A lot of people (irl) assume I'm actually gay, both girls and guys. I'm not 100% straight either so I'm not offended but its kind of amusing.6

I never had any game with the girls...a single date in all of high school, a single date in college, turned down for Prom and Homecoming, the works. My wife is the only woman who ever looked at me twice, and we'll hit 20 years married next summer.
That said, about five years into our marriage, the military sent me out of state for training for a week. Went out to a bar with fellow trainees, and had two women spontaneously give me their numbers out of the blue. I was so shocked, all I could say was thanks (and throw the numbers away first chance I got), but what I was thinking was, where the blazes were you girls six years ago!?!?5 -
I still write snail mail to people. Full on letters. One of my pen pals is a fellow knitter who lives up in Ontario. I get postcards sometimes from all around the world; mostly from people who also knit, crochet or pursue some yarn related crafts.
Rarely, we send boxes of yarn and special goodies to one another (gets expensive, so it's a special treat).5 -
I haven’t ordered anything from amazon ever.3

I can get the hairdo part down. The rest of the body, though...2 -
It's the month of October, which is my youngest daughter's favorite time of the year, as she loves Halloween and all things scary, spooky or disgusting. I try my best to support her enthusiasm, but I personally cannot stand scary movies at all. Even at age 44, I can usually watch one without immediate reaction, but quite often my sleep is impacted that night. Give me an action movie (sports, war, Marvel, etc) or anything animated. Yes, my daughter and oldest son consider me (in this one case) to be a wimp, but I'm ok with that.5

🍻 cheers 🥂 love that one1 -
It’s weird, so many people from so many places and not one kindred spirit.
I’ve felt this way my whole life.
Like parts of my personality need to stay hidden or no one will like me.
There were years, 17-35 that my ex filled that role.
But I kinda kept growing, expanding my opinions.
He didn’t expand his, just dug in more.
I think that’s what people mean by
“growing apart”.
I have no one to share me with.
It’s lonely.7 -
I love dogs. In fact I generally take right to dogs whil;e people not so much. But I am getting better about people.4

I can relate to a lot of what you wrote here.
You're not alone.
And being with the wrong person can feel just as lonely.
Take care of YOU4 -

A little tough love to a good heart......this is on you chica. You still treat your ex as if hes not an ex. Nobody gets a chance to share something real with you because you grew, but never let go. Wanting something gets very painful when it stays just a want forever.15 -

I've never really been one for swearing. An old high school English teacher once challenged us to write a paper filled with cussing, but expand our vocabulary by replacing every swear word with a non-swear word/phrase which gets the same point across. I took that paper to heart, and have spent most of my life since avoiding all swearing and utilizing my vocabulary.
The exception is when I am seriously irate about something, in which case I am fully capable of demonstrating my proficiency with cussing. My kids have grown to know that if Dad ever starts cussing, he's SERIOUS, and it's time to shape up, lol.4 -

Grew up in a cat household, and for the first 26 years of being an adult I had a home with cats only. But starting this past year we've systematically added more varieties of animals, first fish, then salamanders, then parakeets, and finally I gave in to my kids' pleas to get our first two dogs. Never wanted dogs growing up (truth was I was a bit scared of them as a young kid), didn't want the increased maintenance of them today (other animals you feed and otherwise forget, unless the cat comes to you for an occasional scratch). Figured despite my kids pleading for the dogs, the actual chore of taking care of them would largely fall to me...they may feed them and occasionally play, but walks, discipline, training, etc would fall to me...and it largely has, as predicted.
But you know what? Gotta say the dogs are growing on me. Sure, they are noisy and destroying my back yard and their food costs more than all the other animals combined, but they do make great companions to sit and watch football with, and the first time the puppy brought ME his tug-of-war rope felt great.7 -
I don't believe anything in life is really personal... We are all just brains reacting to the environment... In the shoes of another we'd all do and be the same as they are...2

Unless that other were enjoying Brussel-sprout flavored ice cream...I don't think I would be the same then...3

This really is me…………😏5
