11/8 / 198.8 / Haven't had an overnight jump that large in a while. My period did start yesterday. I ate on point though and walked almost 20,000 steps plus a Peloton bike ride. Had a very great day and off to make today another one.

Yes, Rory is an Aussie (Australian Shepherd). His registered name is Stormridge Celtic Thunder TKN CGC. I used to breed Aussies, many of which were very successful competitors in multiple sports. We had puppies all over the U.S. and in Europe and Australia & New Zealand.

@_JeffreyD_ Hmmm, let me think what Oreo might have looked like…. 😁 Congrats on the first place in obedience! That’s my favorite dog sport, but I enjoy most sports that make my dog(s) happy. Rory is currently learning to track and do scent work as well as basic obedience. Keeps me moving!5 -

I had a fun day yesterday. I took my 4-mo-old puppy, Rory, to the local dog show and he earned his Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certificate and his Novice Trick Dog title! It’s a huge show, but he did fine in the chaos of people, dogs, & noise. Here’s he is after doing his tricks.

@_JeffreyD_ Aww, lovely Oreo. And you’re right — these smart, athletic herding dogs can go and go and go. I also had at least one Lab for 30 years and love Labs and Goldens, too. If we add a second dog at some point it will likely be a Lab. Completely different, but Aussies and Labs are great together.2

11/08: 157.0 - Well, I really need to focus on my eating. I’ve kind of been on autopilot with meals, but these last 4 days I was going back to some bad habits (eating even after I knew I was at the top end of my calories). When I’m not in my usual routine is when I get derailed. That means two things: I need to figure this out for upcoming holidays and travel, and I need to get back on track here at home and not let this short slide turn into a longer one.

I actually thought about registered name Music of the Night, call name Phantom, but it didn’t suit his happy personality. Also, the first time I saw his photo, “Rory” popped into my head, and then, when I met him, he was across the yard and I said “Rory” and he came running. Obviously, Rory is his name!8 -
