December 18: 187. The last 3-4 days I was steadily gaining but I got myself under control (I exceed my calories by 400-500 those days). Yesterday, I stayed within the limit and worked out. As long as I can get control of the one looking in the mirror, I know success is waiting. Today’s goal:
1. Workout video
2. Stay within my calorie limit for the day (1275).
3. Drink at least 4 bottles (16.9 fl. Oz) of water
December 19: 186.8
December 20: 187 I will take a break from working out today. I’m sick.

December focus:
maintain weight < 145 (I have been maintaining since July 2019)
Work on improving stamina, strength, flexibility, which may impact the scale
I liked this so much I'm borrowing it.
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS: One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

I’m 5’7, 29 years old, female. I follow a lifting
program and would like to decrease my body fat while maintaining muscle mass.
My starting weight in Oct 2021 was 156.6
Goals: stay in a mild calorie deficit on non-holiday days this round, hit 110-140 grams of protein per day, 20-30 minutes of cardio on lifting days (4xweek, non-work days), complete all 6 programmed strength training sessions during my 4 days off per week, enjoy my family and the special holiday days 🎄 🎁✨

Previous Posts12/18 Workday 2/3. I was in charge which is always extra stress when we are understaffed (which is almost always right now) since you have your own patients + the rest of the unit’s problems to deal with. I always thought the nurses who talked about the full moon were silly until I spent enough time in the hospital. Anyway.. one more day. Leftover vindaloo and tofu for lunch. Broccoli edamame pea fried rice with tempeh for dinner. Protein: 116
12/19 workday 3/3. Let the holiday festivities begin! Leftovers for lunch. Spicy roasted carrots and farro with tofu for dinner. My sister sent over her homemade eggnog croquembouche and I enjoyed that after work. Cookie and gift party with my sister tomorrow and I’m going to get ingredients to make cookies tomorrow. Protein: 123
12/20 Meal planned for the week and grocery shopped. We will have visitors arriving in a couple days. I baked a few cookies and then had a Christmas cookie and gift party with my sister who has little kids and my parents. Christmas is always more exciting with kids involved and brings back the nostalgia of childhood excitement. I ate junk today.. a protein bar and cookies and pizza. My stomach feels awful hah. Back to normal eating tomorrow. Didn’t do any cardio or extra workouts but did a big pull day. Protein: ?? Low.

I did a 12 days of Christmas workout that was absolutely miserable lol (goes like the song and you aren’t halfway through until round 9 or something).. And I plan to do it again with my husband and in-laws on actual Christmas. Anyway, did that this morning and hopefully I can beat my time when I do it again. Ate normally today other than eating Christmas cookies. Leg day for strength. Had a really yummy broccoli dal with seitan for dinner. Took a walk and enjoyed the lights after dinner. Back to work for 2 days and my in-laws arrive tomorrow evening. Protein: 130

Well, this round includes Christmas. That doesn’t worry me so much- it’s only one day- it’s the rest of the time that will be spent in the kitchen baking. I’m actively planning it out to break all the baking into smaller chunks, and I’m hopeful that doing so will allow me to drop 1-2 lbs this round. So here we go! Let the new round begin!
Goals: HIT.MY.STEP.GOAL!!! 10,000/day; <100 carbs/day; Pelo ride 2-3x/week

12/18- 194.4 72net carbs, but fell well short of the step goal. I’m learning just how important those steps are for me, so I’m determined to get back on track with it.
12/19 195.4 Not sure why the uptick, but whatever. I hit my step goal for once! That makes me happy. 81 net carbs, and on to a better day today.
12/20 193.4 Woohoo! A nice relaxing day paid off! I swear, stress makes me stall like crazy! Step goal achieved and finished the day with 71 net carbs. Bring on this busy week!
12/21 192.8 Loved seeing that number this morning! 62 net carbs, but a little low on steps. I’m now in the midst of my marathon baking so lots of time being spent standing in the kitchen, and not much time left for stepping, but its all good.

Round 172 (104th for me). I prove yet again round after round that I need this to help keep me on the straight and narrow.
There are only 7 days to Christmas !! Challenge this year is not to gain any additional pounds & I need to remain binge free, but as always – yet again any loss will be a win!
Covid numbers are going up again in England (Omnicrom) – the pandemic is still very much here: Covid is still very much around! Continue to wash hands, be kind, wear a mask in public indoor settings, think before you head out, stay alert and always consider others.Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, It's took me 75 rounds to achieve my under 130 target; back to maintenance again!! But than I crept up again, so need to get back under 130. A healthy life style has to be a permanent way of life.

12/22 - 147.9 - Down down we go. I feel extremely bloated this morning, but TOM is expected in the next day or two so that's normal. I'm shocked to be down this much considering the timing and hormone fluctuations. All NF habits good yesterday. Came home an hour earlier than expected (nice surprise) and was able to shower while BF was still working and before he started dinner. ALMOST missed my workout because of it, but I knocked it out about 30 minutes before my bedtime (with longer breaks to avoid sweating after showering. Oops!) then made sure I did something relaxing before bed to calm my heart rate back down. Whew. Water was good as well, which I'm sure helped this weight drop off. Same thing again today: a taco salad made with spinach (usually use shredded lettuce) and added in some bell peppers for added veggies. Have a salmon packet or protein shake as a snack available. My one cup of coffee is brewing and water the remainder of the day. Good to go for 16+ hours IF. BF said he already had the meat pulled from the freezer for tonight's dinner but I'm not even sure what that will be. Usually he does make things pretty balanced. I'm in charge of dinner tomorrow so I'll spend today's breaks looking up ideas. These 8 hour work days sure are nice!

Previous Day's Comments12/18 - Up late last night with the Friendsmas party and I woke up to chug water before I even got out of bed. No need to weigh in on a false high there. Depending on if we go out tonight (aka another late night, friend's birthday is tomorrow) I may not weigh in tomorrow, either. Friendsmas damage is sure to still be hanging around come Monday anyway and I can determine from there where I stand and what I need to do. Managed to finish my to-do list yesterday, miraculously. Not sure what today holds, but I'll try to get back on track as best as possible with the spur of the moment plan making. One or two crazy nights WILL NOT derail me. I will enjoy my Christmas festivities and get right back on track to continue on my journey of health.
12/19 - So the damage isn't quite as bad as I thought. I do feel a tad squishy from sodium-related water retention. I'm also feeling a tad dehydrated despite hitting water goals consistently. Thinking that may be related to everyone having heat on yesterday with the cold front. We keep a humidifier in the bedroom to try to offset the drying nature of the furnace. Not 100% plans today, other than watching football, but I'm refocusing on habits and getting back on track. I have until Friday to get back down before Christmas Eve dinner, though thankfully it'll be much easier to stay on track for that than this weekend.
12/20 - DNP
12/21 - Didn't get a chance to post. We ended up having to go into Austin to pick up BF's meds. This led to trying a Thai restaurant, something neither of us have had. Sodium plus running out of water before we got home led to this uptick. Also an early bedtime so water cutoff was early. Despite that, I was up and down going to the bathroom after I tried to make up for lost water/time haha! I'm commuting this week so I have my lunches made up, it's a short week (8 hour days rather than 10) so I should be home earlier to help with dinner. Hopefully now the crazy weekend is over, I can fully get back on track. My officemate is back, I believe, so I'm going to plan to knock out my workout this evening once I'm home since I'll actually have time. I'm still motivated to continue to stay on track, weekends and crazy last minute plans are not always in line with them. Hopefully this momentum keeps me going and I can drop this Friendsmas party / friend's birthday (Sunday) weekend splurge weight off quickly. Back to NFJourney habits I go!

170 EW: 193.4
171 EW: 194.2
12/22 193.0 I’m not surprised. Really, I’m surprised I wasn’t up by 2-3 lbs. I was in the kitchen from 10am till almost 8pm last night. My legs were so swollen after all that! I almost skipped the Pelo ride, but I was curious if riding would help flush out some of the fluid. It did! 66 net carbs, and more baking today. I’m almost through this Christmas baking madness… almost!

Thought I’d be down a little this morning, but I guess it’s gonna take a few days for lower cals to kick in. No problem. I baked a mincemeat pie yesterday and had a small piece but still kept cals below 1500, so not too bad. I’ve been laughing at Mike (cat) and Rory (puppy) playing their usual game. Mike calls it Whack-a-Dog, Rory calls it Chase a Cat. Rory chase Mike under the bed, then jumps on top, off the other side, races around and down the hall, Mike runs out from under the bed and whacks Rory as he goes by, Rory runs a loop around the living room, rinse, repeat. At least they get some exercise on this wet, cold, gloomy morning—maybe I should join in! And I get to laugh.😁

Ok, maybe I will make my under 180 goal for my birthday! DH asked for oatmeal cookies this morning, so I just baked a batch. I’m going to (try to) limit myself to one. I’m going to enjoy everything this week, but try to keep the totals down. Hard to believe it’s almost Christmas!

Salt. I feel waterlogged. That’s ok, I’ll just drink lots of water today.

Well, I didn’t make it to the 170s for my birthday, but close! DH & I have a tradition of taking each other out for birthday late-lunch-cum-dinner, and I’ve chosen one of our favorite Italian restaurants—but carry out, as we’ve been doing for - yikes! - almost two years now. Anyway, I plan to enjoy it!

Hi, I’m Karen and am in my 50’s.
OSW-187 Sept. 2018
GW-150.
12/18-166-I don’t know what to expect with Christmas coming up. Dinner/party out tonight and dinner/party at our house tomorrow. I think I can get one quilt top done today I need to make two quilts, but they are not for Christmas, just a little shopping left.
12/21-170-I’ve been eat the leftover garlic bread. Need to do some quick holiday baking. Finished first quilt top and am almost half way done with the second one.
12/22-166-Gave the rest do the garlic bread to the dogs. Rode the horse, sewed, made cookie dough and am in the process of making two batches of cinnamon rolls for DH to take to work.6 -
Happy Birthday @SheilaBoneham -I hope you have a fun day!!!4

Hello, again! 60F, 5' 3.5”
Round goal: 140 lbs or less (I WILL be eating some holiday goodies!)
End-of-year goal: 140 lbs or less
End of Feb goal (vacation): 135 lbs, UGW

12/18. 138.4. Went to a Christmas party last night and followed my party food strategy. I expected a bit of an uptick, so all is good!
12/19 140.1. OK, so, following the Christmas party on Friday, I logged my best guesses for food. And although I followed my Christmas food 'strategy', I racked up close to 750 calories for the party. Admittedly, I probably guessed on the high side, but it was probably at least 600 calories. (My strategy is 3 goodies and one punch drink per party). Clearly, this was a oh, my gosh moment and I was able to justify not logging yesterday (don't try to figure out the rationale; there is none). Which, of course, included the reasoning to eat 3 cookies on a non-party day. In an hour or two, I will be going to another Christmas party, keeping to my strategy. And, yes, I am back to logging today. It has been a little disconcerting on how off-track my thinking got with one setback (awareness of the high calories even with my strategy). I think my strategy is reasonable, however. Although my goal for the end-of-the-year is 140 lbs, I will keep in mind my UG of 135 lbs end of Feb (vacation). (I'm already trying to brace myself for the end-of-year weight.)
12/30. 139.0 Followed my party strategy; goodies yesterday added up to far less than my last party! Still over a good 200 calories for the day, but that is ok/planned. Now, I only have (very) small family gatherings Christmas Eve and Day. These will be the higher calories count, for sure. I don't believe I've ever had a 'strategy' for holiday treats before, other than planning (and not following through) to not 'sample' goodies as I bake them. So, far, so good, although I more than likely will not be able to fit in exercise on Christmas Day.
12/21 139.0
12/22. 138.2. Visited with neighbors longer than expected yesterday, which resulted in me having a glass of wine and and cookie. Over my calories by just that much yesterday, but it is my strategy to have goodies (within reason) at get-togethers. Going into the home stretch for the holidays...

December 18: 187. The last 3-4 days I was steadily gaining but I got myself under control (I exceeded my calories by 400-500 those days).
I’m sick.
December 21: 187. Still not fully recovered, no workout.
December 22: 186. I’m surprised because I went over my calories (by about 400), I mostly ate soups yesterday (chicken noodle, lentil and kale and bean) but I did eat more than my allotted 1275 🤷🏻♀️, still recovering.
