We ALL have good rounds and bad but that is part of life. Don’t stay away, stay accountable. We don’t judge, we support.-Jpv,2/13/19
What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
People say keto/LCHF isn’t sustainable but I’ve been doing it for over 4 years with amazing results!
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.

12/18 119.0 Great Greek salad with gyro meat and 1/4 pita, 1/2 c eggnog. Gain expected due to gyro meat and pita. 🤷♀️
12/19 119.0 Had Popeye’s chicken for OMAD while out for groceries. Not the best choice but hasn’t destroyed me. I plan to eat clean or fast until Christmas.
12/20 119.0 AF Finished my salad, DH ate leftover Popeye’s. Total carbs yesterday = 7g Now to stick to the plan. I was getting a cramp in my calf when I was getting ready for bed last night and ate Pink Himalayan salt. Cramp gone, slept well, I think.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS: One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

Thank you @quiltingjaine for keeping this going!
May 10, 2021: 183.1 - just 2.9 pounds off 186, my heaviest weight ever.
Calorie/Carb Cycling with an average of 1200 to 1400 calories at the end of 10 days. 80 oz water each day. Row/Walk/Free-Weights most days. IF, no sugar. Focus on getting enough vegetables. If I hit each of these, the weight loss will follow!
Next goal: - 140's by my birthday, Feb 10.

End of Last Round: 159.8
12/18 - 159.8 - I started back rowing this morning. Rowed 30 mins and it felt so good. I'm going to walk this afternoon too before our first snow comes this afternoon and tonight. It's going to be cold this week so should stick around for a white Christmas.
12/19 - DNW
12/20 - 159.8 - Even though I'm weighing the same, I can tell I'm still losing. Shoveled snow yesterday, and drank 64oz water.
12/21 - DNW
12/22 - 159.6 - Unlike my pre-Thanksgiving craziness where I ate for weeks, I'm still staying on track on all fronts. Waiting until Christmas Eve and Christmas day to indulge a little. That's it though - 2 days only - and going to walk both days and get my water in!!

I’m 5’7, 29 years old, female. I follow a lifting
program and would like to decrease my body fat while maintaining muscle mass.
My starting weight in Oct 2021 was 156.6
Goals: stay in a mild calorie deficit on non-holiday days this round, hit 110-140 grams of protein per day, 20-30 minutes of cardio on lifting days (4xweek, non-work days), complete all 6 programmed strength training sessions during my 4 days off per week, enjoy my family and the special holiday days 🎄 🎁✨

Previous Posts12/18 Workday 2/3. I was in charge which is always extra stress when we are understaffed (which is almost always right now) since you have your own patients + the rest of the unit’s problems to deal with. I always thought the nurses who talked about the full moon were silly until I spent enough time in the hospital. Anyway.. one more day. Leftover vindaloo and tofu for lunch. Broccoli edamame pea fried rice with tempeh for dinner. Protein: 116
12/19 workday 3/3. Let the holiday festivities begin! Leftovers for lunch. Spicy roasted carrots and farro with tofu for dinner. My sister sent over her homemade eggnog croquembouche and I enjoyed that after work. Cookie and gift party with my sister tomorrow and I’m going to get ingredients to make cookies tomorrow. Protein: 123
12/20 Meal planned for the week and grocery shopped. We will have visitors arriving in a couple days. I baked a few cookies and then had a Christmas cookie and gift party with my sister who has little kids and my parents. Christmas is always more exciting with kids involved and brings back the nostalgia of childhood excitement. I ate junk today.. a protein bar and cookies and pizza. My stomach feels awful hah. Back to normal eating tomorrow. Didn’t do any cardio or extra workouts but did a big pull day. Protein: ?? Low.
12/21 You’d think after doing CrossFit style workouts for 6 years that I’d know by now to never trust a workout that looks fun on paper. I did a 12 days of Christmas workout that was absolutely miserable lol (goes like the song and you aren’t halfway through until round 9 or something). And I plan to do it again with my in-laws on actual Christmas. Anyway, did that this morning and hopefully I can beat my time when I do it again. Ate normally today other than eating Christmas cookies. Leg day for strength. Had a really yummy broccoli dal with seitan for dinner. Took a walk and enjoyed the lights after dinner. Back to work for 2 days and my in-laws arrive tomorrow evening. Protein: 130

12/23 - 147.0 - I'm rather shocked how quickly this is going down again given TOM's impending doom...I mean arrival any day now. Still feeling quite bloated and squishy but that's likely hormones and sodium. BF made homemade beef and broccoli with noodles last night. Tonight I'm making lasagna rolls ups or something like that. I offered to make dinner since I'm getting home early enough to grocery shop and make dinner with our holiday 8-hour days. Lunch is the same as the last few days but it's filling me up quite a bit. The beans I added are definitely helping with protein and fiber. Water was good, back on that today. Have to knock out a workout tonight for NF. All habits good except adding a protein snack. I wasn't hungry whatsoever and was afraid I'd ruin dinner if I ate one so I passed. I'll revisit today. I need 3 days of protein snacks to move forward in that module.

Previous Day's Comments12/18 - Up late last night with the Friendsmas party and I woke up to chug water before I even got out of bed. No need to weigh in on a false high there. Depending on if we go out tonight (aka another late night, friend's birthday is tomorrow) I may not weigh in tomorrow, either. Friendsmas damage is sure to still be hanging around come Monday anyway and I can determine from there where I stand and what I need to do. Managed to finish my to-do list yesterday, miraculously. Not sure what today holds, but I'll try to get back on track as best as possible with the spur of the moment plan making. One or two crazy nights WILL NOT derail me. I will enjoy my Christmas festivities and get right back on track to continue on my journey of health.
12/19 - So the damage isn't quite as bad as I thought. I do feel a tad squishy from sodium-related water retention. I'm also feeling a tad dehydrated despite hitting water goals consistently. Thinking that may be related to everyone having heat on yesterday with the cold front. We keep a humidifier in the bedroom to try to offset the drying nature of the furnace. Not 100% plans today, other than watching football, but I'm refocusing on habits and getting back on track. I have until Friday to get back down before Christmas Eve dinner, though thankfully it'll be much easier to stay on track for that than this weekend.
12/20 - DNP
12/21 - Didn't get a chance to post. We ended up having to go into Austin to pick up BF's meds. This led to trying a Thai restaurant, something neither of us have had. Sodium plus running out of water before we got home led to this uptick. Also an early bedtime so water cutoff was early. Despite that, I was up and down going to the bathroom after I tried to make up for lost water/time haha! I'm commuting this week so I have my lunches made up, it's a short week (8 hour days rather than 10) so I should be home earlier to help with dinner. Hopefully now the crazy weekend is over, I can fully get back on track. My officemate is back, I believe, so I'm going to plan to knock out my workout this evening once I'm home since I'll actually have time. I'm still motivated to continue to stay on track, weekends and crazy last minute plans are not always in line with them. Hopefully this momentum keeps me going and I can drop this Friendsmas party / friend's birthday (Sunday) weekend splurge weight off quickly. Back to NFJourney habits I go!
12/22 - Down down we go. I feel extremely bloated this morning, but TOM is expected in the next day or two so that's normal. I'm shocked to be down this much considering the timing and hormone fluctuations. All NF habits good yesterday. Came home an hour earlier than expected (nice surprise) and was able to shower while BF was still working and before he started dinner. ALMOST missed my workout because of it, but I knocked it out about 30 minutes before my bedtime (with longer breaks to avoid sweating after showering. Oops!) then made sure I did something relaxing before bed to calm my heart rate back down. Whew. Water was good as well, which I'm sure helped this weight drop off. Same thing again today: a taco salad made with spinach (usually use shredded lettuce) and added in some bell peppers for added veggies. Have a salmon packet or protein shake as a snack available. My one cup of coffee is brewing and water the remainder of the day. Good to go for 16+ hours IF. BF said he already had the meat pulled from the freezer for tonight's dinner but I'm not even sure what that will be. Usually he does make things pretty balanced. I'm in charge of dinner tomorrow so I'll spend today's breaks looking up ideas. These 8 hour work days sure are nice!

What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
People say keto/LCHF isn’t sustainable but I’ve been doing it for over 4 years with amazing results!
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.

12/18 141.4 (trend 140.6) Starting the new round with an almost 3lb gain is fascinating! How? This is after tmi etc and I don't feel bloated or anything. How peculiar! Doesn't bode well for my end of year goal of 140 trend weight... gonna have to be very careful this week. Having a roast today though so starting tomorrow...wink
12/19 140.2 (trend 140.6) That's a bit better! Trying to decide what to do about Christmas, even if my bro and his family, who are all C19+, test negative by then, the London mayor has declared a 'major incident' due to how fast cases are rising there so we're not sure if it's a good idea to go. But then we don't have a kitchen just a little toaster oven so if we don't go then it's gonna be tricky to do Christmas lunch at home. We'll have to play it by ear.
12/20 140.6 (trend 140.6) Had a few treats yesterday as I went out shopping with my daughter. Had a Greek salad with chicken and pita and later shared a piece of cheesecake, then salty snacks and whisky in the evening. If I can maintain this trend weight to the end of the year I'll be ok with that.
Did have a trip to IKEA planned for today but cancelled it, gonna try and stay home and virus free for the rest of the week instead. Stay safe everyone x
12/21 140.0 (trend 140.5) Lots of carb cravings and felt really hormonal
12/22 142.2 (trend 140.8) Totally blew it yesterday, gah! Beers, pizza, nachos, etc etc no idea how many calories. I am expecting this to go up even further tomorrow, ah well. All willpower is gone!
Got a last minute hair appointment tomorrow because of a cancellation, yay! Haven't had a haircut in months and I really need it!
12/23 143.2 (141.1) Things are not going to plan! Oh well, time to accept that for the 2 weeks surrounding Xmas I have zero self control so may as well enjoy it x

Thought I’d be down a little this morning, but I guess it’s gonna take a few days for lower cals to kick in. No problem. I baked a mincemeat pie yesterday and had a small piece but still kept cals below 1500, so not too bad. I’ve been laughing at Mike (cat) and Rory (puppy) playing their usual game. Mike calls it Whack-a-Dog, Rory calls it Chase a Cat. Rory chase Mike under the bed, then jumps on top, off the other side, races around and down the hall, Mike runs out from under the bed and whacks Rory as he goes by, Rory runs a loop around the living room, rinse, repeat. At least they get some exercise on this wet, cold, gloomy morning—maybe I should join in! And I get to laugh.😁

Ok, maybe I will make my under 180 goal for my birthday! DH asked for oatmeal cookies this morning, so I just baked a batch. I’m going to (try to) limit myself to one. I’m going to enjoy everything this week, but try to keep the totals down. Hard to believe it’s almost Christmas!

Well, I didn’t make it to the 170s for my birthday, but close! DH & I have a tradition of taking each other out for birthday late-lunch-cum-dinner, and I’ve chosen one of our favorite Italian restaurants—but carry out, as we’ve been doing for - yikes! - almost two years now. Anyway, I plan to enjoy it!

18: 209.9 Had a small birthday celebration for my 17yo son. Only splurge was a single serving of lemon bundt cake. 😋
19: 209.7 Well below calories yesterday, but stayed at BF's last night so weighed late this morning. 210 was my December 30th goal, and with the holidays I'll be content to maintain where I'm at through that date. The next mini goal is 205 by January 13th.
20: 209.1 I was planning on going to the gym this morning, but I couldn't sleep last night. I'm on maybe 5 hours and feeling exhausted, so I'm taking it easy and will take extra steps to sleep better tonight. Gym tomorrow morning.
21: 209.2 MUCH better sleep last night. Heading out the door for the gym in a few minutes.
22: 209.0 Oh hey ... This is my 1000th post! 😁
23: 209.0 🥚 Between hormones and holidays, I imagine this little plateau will break up before coming back down. I'm confident I'll still be (back?) at or under 210 on my goal date of the 30th though.

This is very exciting. I am finally starting to trend downwards. I think I may be back up tomorrow after going out for DH's birthday dinner last night. I am determined to balance the high calories of yesterday with lower calorie intake for today. And lots of water. Nervous and excited for tomorrow's weigh in.

Hi, I'm Jen!
Female, 5'9"

Round 172 SW: 12/17 200.2 lbs
Round 172 GW: 199
12/18: 199.6 lbs (-.6)
Well, my challenge goal was to get under 200, then I weighed in this morning! 😄 I'm going to keep it at 199, just because I've gone down .6 lbs 4 days in a row so I'm anticipating a rebound. Fingers crossed it doesn't, but that's how my body rolls!
12/19: 198 lbs (-1.6)
I was not expecting that! I drank a lot of water yesterday so maybe flushed out some fluid. I also focused on relaxing and stress relief in the evening.
12/20: 198.4 lbs (+0.4)
Still can't believe I'm below 200. It feels unreal!
12/21: 198 lbs (-0.4)
I was expecting to go up. Pretty sore from yesterday's weight session. Need to drink a lot of water today.
12/22: lbs 198 (0)
I'll take a push. Still sore from Monday's workout so yesterday was an active rest day. Got out for a couple walks. Calories were a little low, but a lot of veggies so had trouble fitting more in my stomach!
12/23: 197.8 lbs (-0.2)
Training has been brutal this week! Was just starting to get over Mondays and did another hard one last night. Feeling it already.. Starting to feel some abs under my squishy tummy though.

12/18 202.0 (-.4) I got my booster shot yesterday afternoon. Feeling a bit tired, but not too bad. I didn’t schedule a thing today in preparation. I will be having my indulgence meal later so my weight will be up a bit over the next few days.
12/19 203.8 (+1.4) I ate my indulgence meal and slept most of the day. Today, I’m hiking with my sister which will be nice.
12/20 203.8 (+1.4) Anticipating that the scale will start moving down tomorrow. We hiked over four miles yesterday. It was cold, but beautiful. No organized exercise today, but focusing on staying on plan and drinking all my water.
12/21 203.8 (+1.4) Surprised to still be at this weight. It was a busy day yesterday. I ate late and didn’t get my water in. Still, it’s going to drop because I’m eating right. Today, I’m swimming, so a whoosh is in my near future. I’d love to be down to a new low weight before Christmas festivities commence.
12/22 202.6 (+.2) There’s a bit of a drop. Still not down to my low weight, but happy with that, especially the week of Christmas. Today is busy…no organized exercise. We have nine days left until the end of the year. It’s been a good year.
12/23 203.8 (+1.4) What a difference a day makes. I got into the fritos and ate more than I should. Giving myself some grace over these next few days and plan to enjoy myself. I will continue to weigh and post every day. No guilt involved.7 -

¤Looking back on my weight loss history, I cycled from 196lbs to 199lbs for about 6 rounds, even touching 200lbs again before dropping to the 180's.
{Day/Weight/Comment}
▪Day1▪Sa•12/18- ¤189
(Fr•12/17) 188g carbs; Fiber•g; 64ozs water.
▪Day2▪Su•12/19- ¤DNW
(Sa•12/18-pm; hrs) 100g carbs; Fiber•g; 103.9ozs water. Bread, cheese, eggs and tuna have been fortifying me, especially bread. Tired of eating it though, need to buy groceries.
▪Day3▪︎Mo •12/20- ¤189
(Su•12/19- pm; hrs) 115g carbs; Fiber•g; 76ozs water.
▪Day4▪Tu •12/21- ¤189
(Mo•12/20- pm; hrs) 144g carbs; Fiber•g; 76ozs water. Just about everyone in my family is sick.
▪Day5▪︎We •12/22- ¤190.4 (Tu•12/21- 10:30am, 7pm; hrs) 125g carbs; Fiber•16g; 84ozs water. I made a large pot of tomato soup 2 days ago. My son said it was delicious. I still can't taste the full flavor of any food. Went grocery shopping. Time to drop these extra carb grams. Maybe a croissant over the weekend😏
■Day6▪Th •12/23- ¤191
(We•12/22- 2:30pm, 6:30pm; 19.5hrs) 92g carbs; Fiber•15g; 56ozs water. I'm certain I need TMI. I'm satisfied with my weight though considering that a month ago when I got sick I was 198, had days of not eating, barely eating and dehydrated. A WIN in my book.😊

My goal: be consistently at or under 158 by Christmas.

12/17 …..189.6….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND
12/18 ….191.2 ….. (Trend weight 190.3) Well, for Crying Out Loud! I had a good dietary day yesterday. Better than I have in awhile. No TMI, no sleep last night and early weigh-in probably contributing but it still feels like I’ll spend the entire round trying to get back to start weight! Far travels today for Christmas shopping with daughter. There will be plenty of car sitting and restaurant food will be in the picture which we always enjoy since we are from a very rural area with few choices in dining out. I’ll try to walk off as much as possible with that shopping, but my daughter is at that age where she will be rushing. I’m the type who can shop till I drop and would be using way more calories up if I was on my own. I plan to enjoy the day though. City sidewalks….Busy sidewalks….. Here I come!
12/19 …..191.0 ….. Trend weight 190.4) I arrived home from the Christmas shopping travels at 2:00 AM! I threw all caution to the wind and ate both lunch and dinner at the restaurants out of town. Lots of calories and not as much walking as you might expect. Plenty of time standing in place looking at toy shelves and clothing racks. Lots of time sitting in car driving two hours each way plus driving between many stores. I had fun though and I may be done with the shopping. Weight actually went down a touch overnight (trend slightly up). I suppose it will catch up to me in the coming days and I may see an uptick. If so, that would be fair. Keeping it honest, friends!
12/20 …..191.2 ….. (Trend weight 190.5) Back & Forth like a teeter-totter between 191 and 191.2 . I was hoping for a drop. I guess I should just be happy it didn’t go higher yet after the travels. I attended a funeral home service/memorial yesterday for a friend that was so well loved by so many. She was only 55 and died after an asthma attack. She spent many years having difficulty breathing and having many allergies but this was a shocker. It was difficult seeing her husband and family in such shocked and horrendous grief. This has been a hard year for so many. I, for one, can’t take much more and will be happy to say goodbye to 2021.
12/21 …..191.4 ….. (Trend weight 190.5) I ate horribly yesterday. I consciously chose to eat junk instead of dinner, and call it dinner! A full-on emotional binge. Later last night I decided to cook some chicken breast for today’s dinner to make it easy and something I would go to when looking for ease. I woke up this morning and my son had eaten it all. That’s the second time in the past few days he has done that. So much for prep cooking! I’ll have to have a talk with him! I’ll re-plan today’s dinner. I am feeling so horribly bad due to the bad food that I can barely function. Lethargic lack of energy. Tummy.
12/22 …..192.2 ….. (Trend weight 190.7) Another day of no TMI. Good meals but cookie baking started. A little too much taste testing. I’ll try to do better as I continue baking.
12/23 …..191.4 ….. (Trend weight 190.8) Lots of cookie baking yesterday but I did much better not eating too many. Finally TMI which is what has affected my weight the most. Very hungry today from the moment I woke up. I’ll have to fight all day.

Day/Weight/Comment
12/18: 150.6 - Didn’t work out, ate a lot of sugary stuff, didn’t track my food. Slept well though.
12/19: 150.4 - Had two workouts yesterday and ate pretty well (within goals).
12/20: 149.9 - Had a little carb and sugar binge yesterday. Don’t think the workout counteracted it.
12/21: 149.9 - Workout and within calories
12/22: 148.6 - Hoping this holds
12/23: 147.9 - Worked out, ate within calories, but didn’t sleep well. I'm a bit surprised by the loss over the last two days since I have been eating more than my share of sugary things.
