    Day/Weight/Comment
12/17 …..189.6….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND
12/18 ….191.2 ….. (Trend weight 190.3) Well, for Crying Out Loud! I had a good dietary day yesterday. Better than I have in awhile. No TMI, no sleep last night and early weigh-in probably contributing but it still feels like I’ll spend the entire round trying to get back to start weight! Far travels today for Christmas shopping with daughter. There will be plenty of car sitting and restaurant food will be in the picture which we always enjoy since we are from a very rural area with few choices in dining out. I’ll try to walk off as much as possible with that shopping, but my daughter is at that age where she will be rushing. I’m the type who can shop till I drop and would be using way more calories up if I was on my own. I plan to enjoy the day though. City sidewalks….Busy sidewalks….. Here I come!

12/19 …..191.0 ….. Trend weight 190.4) I arrived home from the Christmas shopping travels at 2:00 AM! I threw all caution to the wind and ate both lunch and dinner at the restaurants out of town. Lots of calories and not as much walking as you might expect. Plenty of time standing in place looking at toy shelves and clothing racks. Lots of time sitting in car driving two hours each way plus driving between many stores. I had fun though and I may be done with the shopping. Weight actually went down a touch overnight (trend slightly up). I suppose it will catch up to me in the coming days and I may see an uptick. If so, that would be fair. Keeping it honest, friends!

12/20 …..191.2 ….. (Trend weight 190.5) Back & Forth like a teeter-totter between 191 and 191.2 . I was hoping for a drop. I guess I should just be happy it didn’t go higher yet after the travels. I attended a funeral home service/memorial yesterday for a friend that was so well loved by so many. She was only 55 and died after an asthma attack. She spent many years having difficulty breathing and having many allergies but this was a shocker. It was difficult seeing her husband and family in such shocked and horrendous grief. This has been a hard year for so many. I, for one, can’t take much more and will be happy to say goodbye to 2021.

12/21 …..191.4 ….. (Trend weight 190.5) I ate horribly yesterday. I consciously chose to eat junk instead of dinner, and call it dinner! A full-on emotional binge. Later last night I decided to cook some chicken breast for today’s dinner to make it easy and something I would go to when looking for ease. I woke up this morning and my son had eaten it all. That’s the second time in the past few days he has done that. So much for prep cooking! I’ll have to have a talk with him! I’ll re-plan today’s dinner. I am feeling so horribly bad due to the bad food that I can barely function. Lethargic lack of energy. Tummy.

12/22 …..192.2 ….. (Trend weight 190.7) Another day of no TMI. Good meals but cookie baking started. A little too much taste testing. I’ll try to do better as I continue baking.

12/23 …..191.4 ….. (Trend weight 190.8) Lots of cookie baking yesterday but I did much better not eating too many. Finally TMI which is what has affected my weight the most. Very hungry today from the moment I woke up. I’ll have to fight all day.

12/24 …..192.4 ….. (Trend weight 190.9) Not too many Christmas treats even though I’m still actively baking. But there was a late dinner though I kept it light. I didn’t count the calories or carbs though. I just eyeballed small quantities. That never works. My family dinner is Sunday.

12/25 …..192.0 ….. (Trend weight 191.1) I’m not liking the creeping trend weight for sure. Too much grazing yesterday and today but the meals were fair. Family dinner is tomorrow and will be reflected on the scale Monday and Tuesday.

12/26 …..194.4 ….. (Trend weight 191.4) 2 ½ lbs overnight? Really? I ate a Christmas breakfast. 1 egg 2 sausage 2 pc of toast 12 oz milk and 6 oz orange juice. That is large for me. No lunch. Dinner was a fast tostino pizza in the oven (those little single serve square ones that cost $1.00). 3 christmas cookies at snack time with 8 oz milk. I made fudge and did some taste testing. So I did not expect a loss. But I think a 2 ½ pound gain eating what others eat every single day is crazy. I should have went up ounces, not pounds. Disgusted here! Today is family Christmas feast, on top of it all. Epic fail this round!

12/27 …..192.6 ….. (Trend weight 191.5) There is the drop back down. I think it was likely TMI related. Up a bit from 2 days ago but last night was our Family Feast/Holiday Dinner. Under a pound gain so I am happy and hope nothing more shows up later. Got to get through the leftovers and the rest of the year. Sweating bullets here! Up 3 full pounds this round.

Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

Well, this round includes Christmas. That doesn’t worry me so much- it’s only one day- it’s the rest of the time that will be spent in the kitchen baking. I’m actively planning it out to break all the baking into smaller chunks, and I’m hopeful that doing so will allow me to drop 1-2 lbs this round. So here we go! Let the new round begin!

    Goals: HIT.MY.STEP.GOAL!!! 10,000/day; <100 carbs/day; Pelo ride 2-3x/week

    161 SW: 222.2
    EW: 221.6
    162 EW: 218.6
    163 EW: 211.8
    164 EW: 211.6
    165 EW: 206.0
    166 EW: 206.2
    167 EW: 203.2
    168 EW: 198.2
    169 EW: 201.2
    170 EW: 193.4
    171 EW: 194.2

12/18- 194.4 72net carbs, but fell well short of the step goal. I’m learning just how important those steps are for me, so I’m determined to get back on track with it.

12/19 195.4 Not sure why the uptick, but whatever. I hit my step goal for once! That makes me happy. 81 net carbs, and on to a better day today.

12/20 193.4 Woohoo! A nice relaxing day paid off! I swear, stress makes me stall like crazy! Step goal achieved and finished the day with 71 net carbs. Bring on this busy week!

12/21 192.8 Loved seeing that number this morning! 62 net carbs, but a little low on steps. I’m now in the midst of my marathon baking so lots of time being spent standing in the kitchen, and not much time left for stepping, but its all good.

12/22 193.0 I’m not surprised. Really, I’m surprised I wasn’t up by 2-3 lbs. I was in the kitchen from 10am till almost 8pm last night. My legs were so swollen after all that! I almost skipped the Pelo ride, but I was curious if riding would help flush out some of the fluid. It did! 66 net carbs, and more baking today. I’m almost through this Christmas baking madness… almost!

    12/23 192.6
    12/24 191.2
    12/25 192.6
12/26 196.6 Well obviously I didn’t actually gain the full 4 lbs (5.4 total in two days). I didn’t track a thing yesterday. I did get a Pelo ride in though. Back to my regularly scheduled programming today!

12/27 194.4 And it’s moving back down! I knew it would though. I’ve gotten pretty good at hopping right back on the train after a day of indulgence over the years. 53 net carbs and hit my step goal. On to the next 10 day challenge!

Total round change: +0.2lbs, not bad not bad!

    I’m 5’7, 29 years old, female. I follow a lifting
program and would like to decrease my body fat while maintaining muscle mass.

My starting weight in Oct 2021 was 156.6

Goals: stay in a mild calorie deficit on non-holiday days this round, hit 110-140 grams of protein per day, 20-30 minutes of cardio on lifting days (4xweek, non-work days), complete all 6 programmed strength training sessions during my 4 days off per week, enjoy my family and the special holiday days 🎄 🎁✨

    Previous Rounds
    169 150->151.2 (150.9) 🦃
    170 151.2->148.3 (150.5)
    171 148.5 -> 147.9 (147.8)

    Previous Posts
12/18 Workday 2/3. I was in charge which is always extra stress when we are understaffed (which is almost always right now) since you have your own patients + the rest of the unit’s problems to deal with. I always thought the nurses who talked about the full moon were silly until I spent enough time in the hospital. Anyway.. one more day. Leftover vindaloo and tofu for lunch. Broccoli edamame pea fried rice with tempeh for dinner. Protein: 116

12/19 workday 3/3. Let the holiday festivities begin! Leftovers for lunch. Spicy roasted carrots and farro with tofu for dinner. My sister sent over her homemade eggnog croquembouche and I enjoyed that after work. Cookie and gift party with my sister tomorrow and I’m going to get ingredients to make cookies tomorrow. Protein: 123

12/20 Meal planned for the week and grocery shopped. We will have visitors arriving in a couple days. I baked a few cookies and then had a Christmas cookie and gift party with my sister who has little kids and my parents. Christmas is always more exciting with kids involved and brings back the nostalgia of childhood excitement. I ate junk today.. a protein bar and cookies and pizza. My stomach feels awful hah. Back to normal eating tomorrow. Didn’t do any cardio or extra workouts but did a big pull day. Protein: ?? Low.

12/21 You’d think after doing CrossFit style workouts for 6 years that I’d know by now to never trust a workout that looks fun on paper. I did a 12 days of Christmas workout that was absolutely miserable lol (goes like the song and you aren’t halfway through until round 9 or something). And I plan to do it again with my in-laws on actual Christmas. Anyway, did that this morning and hopefully I can beat my time when I do it again. Ate normally today other than eating Christmas cookies. Leg day for strength. Had a really yummy broccoli dal with seitan for dinner. Took a walk and enjoyed the lights after dinner. Back to work for 2 days and my in-laws arrive tomorrow evening. Protein: 130

12/22 hmmmm lol. Oh well, it’s only getting worse from here with extra carbs etc. Workday 1/2. Leftovers for lunch. In laws arrived this evening and polenta, mushroom, spinach casserole and tofu for dinner. In laws arrived with treats. Protein: 100

    12/23

12/24 beat my time for that 12 days workout that I did earlier in the week by like 15 minutes when I did it with my family hah. I workout in my garage alone and lift with my husband and miss the peer pressure that comes from group fitness sometimes. My in laws said I look jacked and slim compared to when they were here last 6 weeks ago 💪 Eating like crap, having a great time. Happy Christmas Eve! 🎄 🎅🏻 🌟 🎁

    12/25

12/26 Christmas party over. Back to work 1/2 today. Ate like normal today but a little lower on protein. I’ll have a few days of relative normal before Colorado later this week. Protein: 105

    12/27

    12/18 147.9
    12/19 146.8
    12/20 145.7
    12/21 144.8
    12/22 147.2
    12/23 147.2
    12/24 148.1
    12/25 149.4
    12/26 151.4
12/27 150.3 work 2/2 and now I’m off for 10 days. Yay! A couple days until we go to Colorado. Leftover cauliflower lentil olive salad and tofu for lunch. Corn chowder with seitan for dinner. Protein: 116

Oldie rejoined after falling off the wagon. Need your support to stick to it, my body is begging for better treatment.

R172 SW: 104 Goal: steady <103 before Christmas. Counting on beginners fluid loss. End of round<104

    12/18 - 103.1
12/19 - 102.6 Waking up with growling stomach but the rest of the day is bearable.
12/20 - 101.7 waaay too quick. I know it is fluids. I know it will stop. But it will be so hard down the line to look at the numbers not moving and staying motivated. Falling right here every time
12/21 - 101.7 saving some morning calories for the evening meeting with friends.
12/22 - 102.0 pizza and beer for dinner with friends. Did save calories for it all day but bloating was expected.
12/23 - 102.2 holiday season with nice dinners all the time so from now on hoping to remain around <103 will not have a scale for a few days.
12/24 - 102. Not sure this is correct and different scale. Christmas food today letting myself indulge. The maon challenge is to get back on track tomorrow and when back home in a few days
12/25 - NA. Didn't dare to get on the scale while managed to have some moderation. Until the sweets table. Oh. My. God. Spent the day trying to compensate without insulting the hosts. Not so easy. And feeling control is going loose in the evening. Have to stay on track!
12/26 - 102. Still wrong scale. Feel the control feeling went away. Lets see how it looks tomorrow when I get back into my own kitchen :)
    12/27 - NA

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS: One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.
    • Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
    • A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
    • Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
    • The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
    • Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
    • The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
    • When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
    • Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.
Stick with the process. It DOES work! But it does take time, effort, and most of all, patience!
