Well, my challenge goal was to get under 200, then I weighed in this morning! ๐ I'm going to keep it at 199, just because I've gone down .6 lbs 4 days in a row so I'm anticipating a rebound. Fingers crossed it doesn't, but that's how my body rolls!

I was not expecting that! I drank a lot of water yesterday so maybe flushed out some fluid. I also focused on relaxing and stress relief in the evening.

12/18 202.0 (-.4) I got my booster shot yesterday afternoon. Feeling a bit tired, but not too bad. I didnโt schedule a thing today in preparation. I will be having my indulgence meal later so my weight will be up a bit over the next few days. โจ
12/19 203.8 (+1.4) I ate my indulgence meal and slept most of the day. Today, Iโm hiking with my sister which will be nice. โจ
12/20 203.8 (+1.4) Anticipating that the scale will start moving down tomorrow. We hiked over four miles yesterday. It was cold, but beautiful. No organized exercise today, but focusing on staying on plan and drinking all my water.
12/21 203.8 (+1.4) Surprised to still be at this weight. It was a busy day yesterday. I ate late and didnโt get my water in. Still, itโs going to drop because Iโm eating right. Today, Iโm swimming, so a whoosh is in my near future. Iโd love to be down to a new low weight before Christmas festivities commence.
12/22 202.6 (+.2) Thereโs a bit of a drop. Still not down to my low weight, but happy with that, especially the week of Christmas. Today is busyโฆno organized exercise. We have nine days left until the end of the year. And...it's been a good year.

I'm joining late -- but I'm joining again! I find posting here really helpful. Just writing down my weight and notes makes me feel accountable.
I had a super-busy week last week with work + volunteer work + houseguests arriving + travels to visit my parents a couple states over. . . .I'm home now and ready to get back to it.
My goal: be consistently at or under 158 by Christmas.

No TMI, no sleep last night and early weigh-in probably contributing but it still feels like Iโll spend the entire round trying to get back to start weight! Far travels today for Christmas shopping with daughter. There will be plenty of car sitting and restaurant food will be in the picture which we always enjoy since we are from a very rural area with few choices in dining out. Iโll try to walk off as much as possible with that shopping, but my daughter is at that age where she will be rushing. Iโm the type who can shop till I drop and would be using way more calories up if I was on my own. I plan to enjoy the day though. City sidewalksโฆ.Busy sidewalksโฆ.. Here I come!
12/19 โฆ..191.0 โฆ.. Trend weight 190.4) I arrived home from the Christmas shopping travels at 2:00 AM! I threw all caution to the wind and ate both lunch and dinner at the restaurants out of town. Lots of calories and not as much walking as you might expect. Plenty of time standing in place looking at toy shelves and clothing racks. Lots of time sitting in car driving two hours each way plus driving between many stores. I had fun though and I may be done with the shopping. Weight actually went down a touch overnight (trend slightly up). I suppose it will catch up to me in the coming days and I may see an uptick. If so, that would be fair. Keeping it honest, friends!
12/20 โฆ..191.2 โฆ.. (Trend weight 190.5) Back & Forth like a teeter-totter between 191 and 191.2 . I was hoping for a drop. I guess I should just be happy it didnโt go higher yet after the travels. I attended a funeral home service/memorial yesterday for a friend that was so well loved by so many. She was only 55 and died after an asthma attack. She spent many years having difficulty breathing and having many allergies but this was a shocker. It was difficult seeing her husband and family in such shocked and horrendous grief. This has been a hard year for so many. I, for one, canโt take much more and will be happy to say goodbye to 2021.
12/21 โฆ..191.4 โฆ.. (Trend weight 190.5) I ate horribly yesterday. I consciously chose to eat junk instead of dinner, and call it dinner! A full-on emotional binge. Later last night I decided to cook some chicken breast for todayโs dinner to make it easy and something I would go to when looking for ease. I woke up this morning and my son had eaten it all. Thatโs the second time in the past few days he has done that. So much for prep cooking! Iโll have to have a talk with him! Iโll re-plan todayโs dinner. I am feeling so horribly bad due to the bad food that I can barely function. Lethargic lack of energy. Tummy.

12/18 / 187.4 / New low weight. Did another FTP test on the Peloton today and improved my avg watts by 17 - feeling very happy with the improved fitness! The weather is a bit better here today... I left it all on the bike but I want to get my dog out for a walk too.
12/19 / 187.4 / Had a great day all around yesterday.. my first rum and eggnog, presents are mostly wrapped, got lots of steps in. We have lots to get done between now and Christmas Keeping my eating on track is just another one of the items on the list!

12/18 141.4 (trend 140.6) Starting the new round with an almost 3lb gain is fascinating! How? This is after tmi etc and I don't feel bloated or anything. How peculiar! Doesn't bode well for my end of year goal of 140 trend weight... gonna have to be very careful this week. Having a roast today though so starting tomorrow...wink

Trying to decide what to do about Christmas, even if my bro and his family, who are all C19+, test negative by then, the London mayor has declared a 'major incident' due to how fast cases are rising there so we're not sure if it's a good idea to go. But then we don't have a kitchen just a little toaster oven so if we don't go then it's gonna be tricky to do Christmas lunch at home. We'll have to play it by ear.
12/20 140.6 (trend 140.6) Had a few treats yesterday as I went out shopping with my daughter. Had a Greek salad with chicken and pita and later shared a piece of cheesecake, then salty snacks and whisky in the evening. If I can maintain this trend weight to the end of the year I'll be ok with that.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS: One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

May 10, 2021: 183.1 - just 2.9 pounds off 186, my heaviest weight ever.
Calorie/Carb Cycling with an average of 1200 to 1400 calories at the end of 10 days. 80 oz water each day. Row/Walk/Free-Weights most days. IF, no sugar. Focus on getting enough vegetables. If I hit each of these, the weight loss will follow!
Next goal: - 140's by my birthday, Feb 10.

12/18 - 159.8 - I started back rowing this morning. Rowed 30 mins and it felt so good. I'm going to walk this afternoon too before our first snow comes this afternoon and tonight. It's going to be cold this week so should stick around for a white Christmas.

12/20 - 159.8 - Even though I'm weighing the same, I can tell I'm still losing. Shoveled snow yesterday, and drank 64oz water.

12/22 - 159.6 - Unlike my pre-Thanksgiving craziness where I ate for weeks, I'm still staying on track on all fronts. Waiting until Christmas Eve and Christmas day to indulge a little. That's it though - 2 days only - and going to walk both days and get my water in!!

Iโm 5โ7, 29 years old, female. I follow a lifting
program and would like to decrease my body fat while maintaining muscle mass.
My starting weight in Oct 2021 was 156.6
Goals: stay in a mild calorie deficit on non-holiday days this round, hit 110-140 grams of protein per day, 20-30 minutes of cardio on lifting days (4xweek, non-work days), complete all 6 programmed strength training sessions during my 4 days off per week, enjoy my family and the special holiday days ๐ ๐โจ

Previous Posts12/18 Workday 2/3. I was in charge which is always extra stress when we are understaffed (which is almost always right now) since you have your own patients + the rest of the unitโs problems to deal with. I always thought the nurses who talked about the full moon were silly until I spent enough time in the hospital. Anyway.. one more day. Leftover vindaloo and tofu for lunch. Broccoli edamame pea fried rice with tempeh for dinner. Protein: 116
12/19 workday 3/3. Let the holiday festivities begin! Leftovers for lunch. Spicy roasted carrots and farro with tofu for dinner. My sister sent over her homemade eggnog croquembouche and I enjoyed that after work. Cookie and gift party with my sister tomorrow and Iโm going to get ingredients to make cookies tomorrow. 12/20 Meal planned for the week and grocery shopped. We will have visitors arriving in a couple days. I baked a few cookies and then had a Christmas cookie and gift party with my sister who has little kids and my parents. Christmas is always more exciting with kids involved and brings back the nostalgia of childhood excitement. I ate junk today.. a protein bar and cookies and pizza. My stomach feels awful hah. Back to normal eating tomorrow. Didnโt do any cardio or extra workouts but did a big pull day. Protein: ?? Low.
12/21 Youโd think after doing CrossFit style workouts for 6 years that Iโd know by now to never trust a workout that looks fun on paper. I did a 12 days of Christmas workout that was absolutely miserable lol (goes like the song and you arenโt halfway through until round 9 or something). And I plan to do it again with my in-laws on actual Christmas. Anyway, did that this morning and hopefully I can beat my time when I do it again. Ate normally today other than eating Christmas cookies. Leg day for strength. Had a really yummy broccoli dal with seitan for dinner. Took a walk and enjoyed the lights after dinner. Back to work for 2 days and my in-laws arrive tomorrow evening. Protein: 130

I am off tomorrow and Saturday and I don't celebrate Xmas so I will be able to post my weight this round and will do my best to try to post. I will not have a chance to chat much but next year I am ready to be more consistent with these rounds for sure. It is so nice to see familiar faces and new ones.
