What I've learned so far:
- exercise in the evening after eating has less impact than exercise in the morning before eating, regardless of same caloric intake
- Keeping calories as close to goal as possible has more impact than exercise for me
- Saving calories (not eating) until evening makes the evening feel more relaxed
- Busy hands are a good idea, as are habit goals

Nov 18…..…..190.6…..(Trend Weight 189.7)…..Very bad news from Primary Doctor yesterday in regards to my blood work. A1C 11.8 so she will be adding more medication for Type 2 diabetes in conjunction with what I am already taking. Thyroid has gotten worse and my medication will be increased. My sodium is super low and so a medication for that is being added. My LDL cholesterol is bad so she is adding Atorvastatin for help that. What a hot mess! These medications will help, but I know in my heart of hearts that diet and exercise is the healthiest answer to all of this. I’ve got to do better! With all these holidays coming up, it just couldn’t be more challenging! I’m thankful that I’ve made enough improvements in my lifestyle and my weight over the past couple of years to stay in cancer remission as weight was very important to my type of cancer. But I’ve got to roll up my sleeves, there is more work to be done.

Couple that with travel for Christmas shopping and all the cravings that come with being off plan and it’s a recipe for disaster. Hell, I haven’t even started baking yet. I’ve got to get a grip. I had a full-on binge yesterday of BBQ chips and donuts that I bought at the store when I went to get water. It was so bad that I skipped dinner just to off-set the calories. I feel like death warmed over today. I have none of the energy that good foods would have given me. This is just another example of my food killing me, like a poison because of my relationship with it. I’ve got to do better! I know this was emotional eating. Too many death's this month. But it solves nothing!

As you can see, I've been having a harder time of it in December. I'm using it as a lesson for the future. One of these days, I'd like to be at a point where I start weight maintenance instead of weight loss.
I was expecting December to be a challenge, and had decided that if I could stay under 230, I'd consider it a win. So far, so good. But I'd like to congratulate those who have shown an incredible amount of discipline and determination in achieving steady weight loss and have succeeded in continuing that weight loss even into December.

I've surpassed my goal, my BMI is now 22.2. I plan to stick with IF long-term, although I'll be doing a lot less alternate day fasting as I'm okay with losing more, but really want to slow it down.
I have no reason to keep weighing myself, and I don't have the best psychological relationship with the scale, so that's it for me.
Good luck everyone on meeting your weight loss goals. Remember, it's not so much about losing a certain amount as it is about finding what works for you and makes your body feel it's best while ALSO producing weight loss.
The best diet is the one that *feels* good while you do it.

@frankwbrown Thanks! I only recently joined MFP and this is the first time I've seen such steady progress (except for one other time in my past but that time doesn't count). I tried to lose weight this week but was over my calorie bank/budget too many times. I keep forgetting my husband's helpful advice to half whatever I dished out for myself, as I keep coming to that conclusion end of day (if I had only taken 1/3 less, or one less of this or that...). We're doing a big move to a new community in a few months and I have a couple of goals related to that deadline.

Thanks! I realize I never actually posted my highest weight, but I too was obese before, lost it all, slowly, down to a low-healthy weight, and then regained a bit due to illness, injury, and meds like prednisone.
My latest weight loss effort was a slog and took forever until I started IF, which has been so much easier for me.
I'm really thrilled to be back where I worked so hard to get before, I didn't have nearly as much to lose this time around, I started at 160, but it was a million times harder to lose the second time around, largely because I'm so inactive due to injury. Good luck on your journey! I hope it goes nice and steady and smooth for you.3 -
