Hi, I'm Karen. I found the December challenge helpful so I'm back for January. Thanks for the accountability help!
Goals for January:
Weigh, track, stay within maintenance calories, exercise, gratitude every day.
Jan 1: 143.
Jan 2: 144.3. Didn't stay within maintenance calories last 2 days. Old problem of eating after I get home from a social thing. Need to go right to bed.
Jan 3: 142.4. Again above maintenance calories yesterday, but I avoided after dinner eating, so that was a success. Met my other goals.
Jan 4: 142.2. Met yesterday's goals.8 -

Up and down, up and down, you gotta love water weight/menstruation weight fluctuations! It's enough to irritate me, definitely. But I get on the scale every day (even if every day is only 4 days so far) and for me that's a key part of my own battle to keep me accountable. Hopefully I can straighten out the rest of me and see a steady decline. Eventually.

With any luck Iβll be going to the Bahamas at the end of this month. My goal is to reach my goal weight well before then. Goal is 125, 4.8 lbs. Iβm also doing dry January so hoping to combine the benefits of not drinking with more exercise and better food choices! Get the cookies and chocolates out of my kitchen! If you don't already, i recommend trying to add smoothies into your diet! Even if it's something basic like a frozen fruit mix and a cup of spinach +water, it can help!4 -
Late to the party! I am a 33 year old female only 5β4ββ who is looking to lose about 15 pounds by mid June! My husband and I are headed to Hawaii for our ten year anniversary and Iβd love to look half way decent in a bikini! I have a habit of drifting between 120-140 lbs. I seem to always reset this time of year.

My goals include (from most difficult to the easiest)
π¦Getting started
π₯€Drinking more water than diet soda
π₯ Staying within my calorie limits
πβMaking sure I get some βme timeβ
π πΆππ»ββοΈπ΄π»ββοΈ Exercising daily (at least 20 minutes total - not always an accurate time since I don't have a fitness watch, use my phone, and I'm not allowed to have my phone with me during the day at work, but it won't get a thumbs up unless I'm sure I've hit that 20-minute mark)
π Tracking every meal
βοΈ Weighing myself daily is a given for me, so this will be the easiest one for me to accomplish.
Highest Weight: Somewhere between 227-230... I don't know. I avoided the scale.
Return to MFP after ~ 5-6 year absence (June 11, 2020) = 216.9
Starting weight for this challenge (January 1, 2022) = 191.6
Goal weight loss for January - just back into the 180s somewhere would make me happy at this point.

This was on top of KFC for the 3rd freaking day in a row because I didn't take anything out to thaw for dinner. The chicken is gone now. Thankfully! There's still some chocolate left. I'm not gonna lie. I'll finish it tonight. Got my "me time" because she shut herself into her room and didn't come out.01/04/2022 - βοΈ 192.6 (+0.8 / +1.0) - hello chocolate and KFC) - π πΆπβπwell, I guess I lucked out. It was a day. TPTB had reclassified the pay range for my job and today the raise letters came out... except I didn't get a raise (nor did anybody who's worked there as long or longer than I have). Yesterday marked 16 years I've worked there. I'm fully trained. People who are only trained in one or two disciplines and have been there a year or two all got raises. The letter said they are "focusing on hiring and retaining employees." I guess they figure if we've been around as long as we have, we're probably not going anywhere, even if we don't get a raise. I knew this would happen because it happened the same way last time they reclassified. Those of us who had experience were given a smile and "we appreciate everything you do for us." And that was it. So I wasn't surprised, but it still feels like a kick in the teeth and I found I was much more bitter about it than I expected to be. Then I got a call from my insurance company - I pay for my auto insurance based on the miles I drive. I have a little do-hickey that plugs into the computer port of my truck. The insurance company rep told me they weren't getting a signal from the do-hickey and I needed to check it. When I got home from work, I went straight out to my truck and guess what? It wasn't plugged in. Nor was it anywhere in the cab that I could see. Sigh. I had my truck in the shop all last week. They probably pulled it out to check stuff and forgot to plug it back in. Now I have to call them in the morning, see if they still have it, and, if so, send my daughter over to get it. My mood by this time was super pissy and I was looking forward to that remaining candy... only to come in and find out my daughter thought the box was empty and tossed it without checking. It's better this way, I know, but I was still irritated. Still, I came much closer to my calories today. Close enough I almost wish I could say I made my goal, but... over is over, so I didn't and I can't.5 -

January goals: minimize processed food and lose 1 pound a week. I weighed in at 1.6 pounds over yesterday's weight, but I'm pretty sure it's water weight from too much salty popcorn last night.

January 01: 156.0
January 02: 155.6
January 03: 155.6
January 04: 156.4 While I was under my calorie goal yesterday, I ate too much processed food in an attempt to get it out of my house as fast as possible and was way over on my sodium intake. I hate to just throw it all away, but maybe that is what I need to do.
