The government site does not ask for insurance information. Literally just your name and address. Insurance is not a factor...anyone with a residential mailing address can get them.6 -

Yes, I found it easy and took only a minute. It says they ship late January, which is basically now (how did it already become LATE January?!).
Hmmm, must be my sister got hers mailed from a different source. I know she said she's ordered from 2 places. I'll have to check now. She's been giving them to people she knows that don't have enough of them and keeping 2 for herself.

If your sister received them already, and ordered from two places, then she didn't get them from the free government site that just went online this weekend. Those have not shipped yet, AFAIK.2 -
Any thoughts/input from you smart people on a new topic that I am hearing about. That topic is the possibility of developing "fatigue" from booster shots. This appears to relate to more than 4 shots (2 standard plus two boosters), so we are not there yet. If true, the importance of this is that we would need to plan/develop other/additional strategies for down that road that do not continue to require more vaccinations. Curious what discussion is going on in the scientific community.0

T Cell "fatigue" or the phenomenon of multiple vaccinations and this issue is something the media picked up and SURPRISE - got wrong.
According to TWiV, that was something that was an issue with (I think) HIV.
Don't even go down that road. That narrative is faulty in regards to SARS-Cov2. I think it was last week's TWiV that just discussed this.

Yes, it would be best case scenario to vaccinate the whole world.
That's a political/global stance, not an individual health/immunity stance.
There will always be variants and the vaccines are not the only variable, viruses change. That's what they do. The question was whether multiple vaccinations for this virus would cause broader individual immunity problems via the mechanism of T Cell, "fatigue," as recently reported (wrongly) in the media.

Maybe more more and build endurance so you don't notice "fatigue"?0 -
Not sure why they are even giving 4th shot boosters here. A prominent doctor here said that he has yet to admit a triple vaxx'd person into the ICU.
But it's like they need to do SOMETHING so lets roll out 4th shots - with absolutely no evidence that we even need them.6 -

I think Quebec is doing this - but they aren't calling it a "mandate" but rather a health surtax for those who refuse the vaccine.4 -

As a health care provider, I love it! I’m tired and so is everyone else I work with of the unvaccinated clogging up our hospital rooms leaving no room for others with other health conditions.19 -

Sorry, I was not clear and I see your interpretation. The "fatigue" they are referring to is T-cell fatigue that (if correct) would ultimately weaken instead of helping our immune response to COVID. Or at least, that is how I understand it.2 -

Sounds reasonable to me.
I know US health system is different - but in countries like Canada, Australia, UK etc which have universal health care, funded by tax payers, then I think it reasonable that people who knowingly make a choice that is likely to lead to poorer health outcome ,and thus cost the tax payers more - they should pay more tax to off set this.
Seems similar to tax on cigarettes and alcohol - you can choose them ( and I drink alcohol myself so not a high horse thing here) but the tax on them goes some way to offsetting the higher tax payer cost of outcomes of your choice.
and of course people can get lung cancer even if they don't smoke and hospitalised with Covid even if they are vaccinated - but likelihood is FAR less and nobody suggests penalising you for outcomes beyond your control.
Smoking and non vaccinating is within your control

The article I read said he was against the vaccine mandates. Was something mentioned about him not being vaccinated as well?2 -

If we don't have health insurance, we have to pay at tax time. Good idea to let people choose to be vaxxed or not BUT with a cost just like that!! Maybe more would choose to be vaxxed. I know a couple people who do not have health insurance and say it's cheaper just to pay the money come tax time. Maybe it wouldn't be so acceptable if non-vaccinated ones were charged a tax. DH said he read an article that mentioned people in Quebec were rushing to get vaccinated now instead of paying the health tax. Hope that's true??!! It's forcing their hand but still comes down to their choice. All choices have consequences but it makes a big difference when it affects others as well.6 -

When I google "was meatloaf vaccinated" I see many results like this, "It's unknown whether Meat Loaf vaccinated against COVID-19."
Since there's this, "he had previously said he would “rather die” than face lockdown," I think it is more likely than not he was unvaccinated.
The story came up on the news last night and my mom referred to him as "Meatball"
