Supposed to run yesterday but it was still freezing so we did a token mile and a half brisk walk bundled in coats, then lifted. Much warmer today! Ran 5k walked 4 miles. Husband breathing much better with his meds! I’m very slow and out of shape after a month of not running much, we gotta start building up our mileage again.
I’ve been reading everyone’s posts, even when I don’t comment!

I waited until it warmed up this morning to run, and I ended up being a little warm by the end. But it was OK. It was 46°F at the start as 57°F at the end. I wore capri leggings and a t-shirt with sleeves. I should have gone ahead and wore shorts. It was a pretty day and even though I was slow, it was a good run. The only dog I saw running loose was a puppy that came running out of his yard. He put his feet up on my knees and just looked at me like he wanted to go with me. There was a young man next door playing basketball so I asked him if he would distract the puppy so it wouldn't follow me. I kind of wanted to take him home with me, but I didn't.

@AlphaHowls You are a beast. Sounds like you are doing everything you can to feel better. I hope your muscle heals quickly.
@rheddmobile Glad the meds are helping your DH and that you were able to get out for a 5K run and nice walk after.
@kgirlhart Sounds like a nice run. The puppy sounds so adorable. I hope he went back home.

A nominal rest day, so I just did treadmill to make up for yesterday's treadmill instead of outside run. Our senior moment was listening to Patsy Cline's "I Fall to Pieces" at the beginning and not starting our watch. Saw a scarlet tanager out the kitchen window post run -- first one I've seen here and the first one I've ever seen with snow on the ground.5 -

My plan said 35 minutes of some sort of cross training, and the roads looked a bit treacherous for cycling. So I decided it was time to check out a local pool and swim some laps. It went well, but only gave me 200-something calories and now I'm tired. Hmm. Do you burn more calories if you don't know what you're doing on any of the strokes?6

Every time one can get out of the water without assistance is a win in my book.6 -
Bleurgh still full of cold and stuffed up. So much so that despite the lateral flow tests being ok work colleagues suggested I go and get a PCR test. Hopefully will hear back soon. In the meantime it’s treadmill trudging for me but trying to keep the streak alive!

@Faebert Probably a good idea to get the PCR test. I think there are quite a few false negatives with the rapid tests. I was told by a doctor that if you are having symptoms and take the rapid test and it comes back positive, you definitely have it. If it comes back negative, you really don't know for sure. I hope the PCR test comes back negative too and you "just" have a cold, which I hope clears up soon. Great job on keeping the streak up, even when you really don't feel like it.
It was great weather here this afternoon. It got up to 48°F, but cloudy. I drove my Gator down to mom's to haul some wood from the barn for her wood stoves and then came home and did my mile walk on the driveway. It's going to cold again toward the end of the week, so I need to take advantage and enjoy it while I can.4 -
6 miles this evening. First 3 miles felt 'sneasy', then 2nd 3 felt easy. Weird because average HR stayed basically the same for the whole 6 miles.
Rain started just as I was finishing 🙂

First day of the semester was a little crazy, predictably, and I didn't make it to the gym with enough time to get much treadmill warmup in before strength class. Tomorrow doesn't look promising either. It is what it is right now between the frigid cold and work demands.5 -
5k running plus the same walking on trails today. Perfect weather. Did not expect the trails to be muddy since it’s been dry for several days, but they were really sloppy! Like put the drop cloth over the seats to drive home muddy! I haven’t run in mud since about this time last year, all sorts of little stabilization muscles in my legs are sore.5

After work yesterday I went to our little local park and ran the trail there. It is only a one-mile loop but you get some nice hill work. I had the trail all to myself except another lady started her walk when I was mid-way through my run. It was very close to dark when I finished up and the lady was still out on the trail. There was another car in the parking lot with a couple of people just sitting in it so I did a short cool down walk (0.55) so that I could make sure she got off the trail and to her car ok. I'm sure the people in the car were harmless, but I hated to leave her out there by herself in the dark.

Roads were still wretched after yesterday's snow, so I opted for the treadmill instead.5 -
@Scott6255 Glad your run got easier as it went on.
@katharmonic You are doing great to get anything in. Sometimes it's hard. Hope things settle down soon.
@rheddmobile Glad you got in another run and walk. It is interesting how things seem to stay muddy in the winter. I think it is from the freezing and thawing.
@Teresa502 Very nice of you to wait and make sure the lady was okay. Sometimes you need to follow your gut in those situations, even if the other people are harmless. I once called the police when I lived in OH, because I was at a little neighborhood store right before it closed. There was a shady looking guy just hanging around in the store, not really looking at anything and not buying anything. It just didn't feel right. I never heard if the guy was ligit or not, but at least I did my part, in case he had planned on robbing the place.
You're killing that treadmill @Tramboman , or is it killing you?2 -
Plan said 30 minutes tempo or track, so I did fast intervals on the treadmill. Had to go find my fan. Afterwards I went out and "chilled" in the hammock in the backyard, just for a few minutes.4

Yoga this morning and then I made myself run on the treadmill while I was there to get it done.3 -

I think right now it's a draw...2 -
@Teresa502 that was a very kind thing to do to wait around for the lady to get off the trail. This world needs more people like you1
