@roz0810 Good luck getting the Orlistat if that’s what you want to do. Sorry, I rarely interact with anyone on Fitbit..I am only friends with dh, daughters, & cousin & not really sure how that came to be. Don’t even know if I have a user name, etc. I mainly just use it for my own step info, lol.
@theslightedgeforever Good luck with WFPB. I am leaning more that way, but not sure I can fully commit either. I’m not sure I am strong enough when I don’t think DH would ever get committed to it, even tho he is complaining about gaining weight & would like to get off his statin. A lady I follow says it’s alright if they aren’t doing it..you should do it alone, because you will be alone if you need heart surgery, etc. Right now trying to give up dairy, not being real consistent because not at home & absentmindedly eating it like putting milk on my cereal this am. I am trying to add more fruits & veggies tho.
Going to see bro & sil in a bit, then will be trying to keep the gkids occupied this week for spring break while dd works from home. They will probably sit on electronics & ignore us tho, lol.0 -
@cbabie It's all in the little choices you make You could have chosen cake and pizza but you didn't. You could have had a normal size piece but you didn't. Celebrate your wins.
@teresaw1020 I'm not doing as well on carb cycling as I did in the past. Plus I need more f&v in my life. I would sit and contemplate not eating a banana because of the carbs. Or think shoot, if I eat an apple it will put me over. Then the thoughts come if I'm going to go over I might as well eat something I really enjoy and it won't be an apple. That's not healthy thinking. So this way, I'm doing something better for my body I hope. Yaaay on your workout and eating

One of the things they talk about is adding before you subtract.
So I've almost completed a one week plan for my new plan. One of the things is eating things I wouldn't normally eat for breakfast. I'm starting with one day a week. It was a Mexican Hash recipe. If I want to be different, I have to do different, right?
I will also be using the Daily Dozen app to help me transistion. All of this is in the planning stages because having my dd here makes it harder. Plus we are going on a trip next Sunday so this looks like it will begin in April.
Right now I'm roasting marshmallows with her making s'mores and was thinking about my plan. I told her next year I can roast sweet potato chunks. Cut the very tip of a marshmallow off and attach it to the sweet potato on the skewer. It will melt on the sweet potato. But much more healthy. At least that's how I think it's going to work in my mind.

@theslightedgeforever I watched the Forks Over Knives documentary & have been reading the success stories on the website for inspiration. Breakfast at home is always OK, planning to gradually cut back on meat & add more veggies & fruit other meals & snacks. I love baked potatoes & roasted sweet potatoes. Do you follow Dr. McDougall, Dr Barnard, or Chef AJ? I also follow Esther’s Nutritional Journey on Facebook…she uses an Instant pot a lot, eats very simply, & shows pictures of everything she eats. Makes it look so easy & doable, lol, but wonder if I will need more “recipe” stuff to follow through. Right now I am also trying to cut out dairy.1

Morning all, in spite of my eating yesterday and the day before, I lost .4 lbs..now time to buckle under and keep going that direction. One thing that I saw yesterday and i HOPE I always remember...if I take a bite of buttercream frosting...NOTHING will stop me from eating more sugary foods. LOL. I walked in the morning, got groceries..(stocked up) and rearranged my pantry.
@trooworld so glad you enjoyed the visit, but oh I do know that feeling...LOL My mom used to set a timer and tell people when the timer went off it was time to go home. smh.. I love that AZ doesn't change time zones.
@theslightedgeforever. wouldn't it be nice if we had a timer that said, you have eaten this much i.e carbs or whatever and then we stop? LOL
@TeresaW1020 So glad DH was resting, maybe you could do like when your kids are little, you nap when they nap...I wasn't and am not one of those..however. I used that time to get my stuff done. LOL

@cbabie Yaaay on your walk and bike. Now start working on the meals one at a time. Funny....I was going to tell @trooworld the mom/timer story. We do have an app that shows us we've eaten "this Much". Sometimes I don't stop. I was one of those napping mommies. We were all in the bed together. The rule was you don't have to sleep but you have to stay in the bed and read. We all slept. I still like my afternoon nap where I read and fall asleep.
@retiredandlovingit I'll have to watch that documentary. I don't follow any of those. I'll check them out. I want to find an inbetween person like me. Shades of gray.

So yesterday I obviously ate too many calories. Some good choices and not so good choices. I ate a salad and broccoli soup for lunch and 1/4 of a quesadilla. Did not eat whopper balls 3 times I thought about it. Had one s'more instead of 2. Plus one roasted marshmallow. Bad choice was dessert with daughter.

Morning all. Will get my Orlistat in a few hours. They didn't have it in stock yesterday.
I've also got a two week trial with Noom, then it's £19 a month after so we'll see how it goes. On top of that I'm doing weight watchers too! I need to do this this time round. I'm not going to mess up like i normally do. Please feel free to add me. I'm also near the end of my 12 week challenge Jan-March and will be starting another 12 week challenge. How is it the middle of March already, what the hell! Looking forward to seeing my results. Still weighing in daily for now.

@trooworld Did you look at my post yesterday for Sunday? I was almost 1000 calories over. That's not a little. That's great that you did some meditation to try and clear your head.
Monday's total were a bit better but still not where I want them. But no chocolate. Instead I had a peach and chia smoothie

Afternoon all, I am in crazy busy mode again. I made so not so good choices last night, today is much better. (But the night isn't over) LOL. Baby girl and I went for a walk, she had to take her babies for a walk in "their wagon" She had to go pick them flowers and was tired walking back until the end. She RAN down our street. I had to RUN to keep up with those fast little legs. She "won" and came in the garage and laid on the floor..as if she was so exhausted. She keeps me laughing...
@trooworld So sorry you had a bad call.. I hate them and try not to be one of those, but once in a while..LOL. I hear the song from Frozen in my head...Let it go, Let it go..(easier said than done). Glad you relaxed and did all those things to help you not take it to bed with you.
@theslightedgeforever I am working on my meals, it's really the snacks at night I have to work on. Install a zipper with a lock on it..LOL
@roz0810 So glad you got approved. You got this...yea on losing the 2 lbs..that is a huge loss in my world. I am happy with a .4 loss. LOL. Great job.. my 3 1/2 year old gives me the thumbs up and says you can do it!!

Morning all, I just came back from running errands, baby girl is watching my TV. So I am taking a couple of min to check in. I went way over again yesterday. I am so stressed and trying not to eat it. I have so much I want to accomplish in my life before I die....and I just can't work fast or long enough. I want to learn all I can, teach all I can, live LIFE...Read all I can...I could go on...
@roz0810 I liked the community on WW, but I am not on there anymore...it's been a LONG time. That's why we started this board, people just need a community where they feel safe and they feel loved, encouraged and that they matter..

Small loss this morning. I'll take it. Today I'm off into town with a friend buying a phone for our 75 year old friend who's fed up of her flip up phone so we're going to get her an android smart phone. We did order one from amazon which said it was unlocked but it wouldn't recognise her sim card so had to send that one back. Pain in the *kitten* that was. I'll probably stop for a cup of tea with my friend too

@trooworld Sorry about the work drama but good for you for sticking up for yourself. I totally forgot it was St. Patrick's Day yesterday until I sat down at 9 pm and flipped on the news and saw everyone wearing green.

@cbabie You do have so much to live for and accomplish! Try to focus on that more than what isn't working. Give yourself credit for all the good you are doing. I think we tend to magnify our struggles and stumbles and downplay what we are doing right.
Good morning everyone! I'm just checking in before starting another busy day. This week has been tough. Joe has really struggled with his broken body and this second round of chemo. We have an oncology appointment for blood work and the rest of the day will be spent cleaning my house. My eating has been so so and needs to get better for sure. I'm working out when I can and just taking life day by day.

Afternoon all, Went on a bike ride this morning..stress ate lunch. PB sandwich...my fall back. The good news is that when I thought I was WAY over in fat grams, I wasn't.. I used whipping cream tracking vs whipped cream...way less fat calories. LOL.
@TeresaW1020 I am so sorry that your DH is struggling..no one likes to NOT feel good. I pray he does better after his appointment. yes it's okay to take life day by day,...if not then I am in BIG trouble. LOL
@trooworld So sorry to hear about the PTSD and yet I am so happy to hear it's not stopping your life and hope and dreams and that you handled your boss with professionalism. That shows your true character and hers. LOL. You have so much inner strength.

@cbabie Didn't they change the WW community to Connect. That's why we had to leave because they were doing away with our board? Maybe I'm getting confused with another site I'm on. lol I didn't like the Connect part. I agree with @trooworld Whipping cream is different than whipped cream. I use alot of whipping cream in my cooking. Did you eat it on a dessert? I think of whipped cream like Cool Whip, Dream Whip, Reddi-Whip in the can. I love that stuff. I can just squirt it in my mouth.

@teresaw1020 I forgot it was St Patty's day too. I saw an Instagram post of my son somewhere in Des Moines and everything was green. Then read the caption and I thought oh yeah. chicago is the best when they turn the river green. I wonder what people do in Ireland? Sorry about Joe. This part is the hardest I think. It's why my mom chose not to do it again when her cancer came back.
So I'm going to leave tomorrow with my daughter on a short trip to London. So I won't be checking in I don't think. I don't know the WiFi situation over there.
I've only been half tracking this week. My dd has been all topsy turvy. She will be returning home when we get back cause she has to go back to work. Then I'll get to work on my body and dive into transitioning to my new meal plan. My only plan while I'm gone is to eat scones. Lots of scones. Oh and fish and chips. Real fish and chips. I think that's all I want to try.

afternoon all, I took baby girl to the Children's museum here in town and now I am home with a headache...dehydrated...I am sure..But we are laying down watching the Bee movie..It leaves Netflix end of March...I may have to buy it..UGH..
@trooworld I am so glad you figured work out and yea on the change in pizza night. LOL. PSTD is the worst I think..well not sure, I had severe chronic non stop pain in my leg for months...I wanted to die. FINALLY found a Doctor who knew what to do and I think God knew I was on my last leg..LOL. Yes whipping cream I picked was the heavy whipping cream..

Morning all, Yesterday was Sunday and I didn't go to church and it didn't feel like a Sunday. I did go for a walk with baby girl and my daughter. I also lost 2.8 lbs not sure how I did that. I didn't track yesterday either.
@trooworld I bet the foot massage was good, yes you do need to do more of that. I think that we don't take the time for ourselves as needed and in the end we pay for it...(mentally)

@trooworld Ooh the foot massage sounds nice. I have had a few massages & enjoyed it, should do it more. Try to get back to tracking, I really think it helps usually. (I say usually because I was stuffing my face the whole time at dd's, & tracked at night...oops way over did the food!) Hope your work situation is worked out now.
@cbabie Congrats on the loss!! It's so easy to get dehydrated, I have been doing better at home with water, but don't think of it at dd's. Not sure why.
@theslightedgeforever wow...hope you have a great time in London. It is probably better to wait until back to start your new program. That is what I have in mind...we are hoping to take a trip to Sweden in June & don't think I should totally revamp my eating before then, but am trying to tweek it a little in the meantime. Before we went to dd's I was trying to eliminate dairy to see what it does, but impossible to do that there. So starting again this week, lol.
@TeresaW1020 Thinking of you & Joe & hope he starts feeling better. It has to be a very stressful time for both of you..I agree..keep taking it day by day. Do you have the yucky green-yellow pollen storm in GA yet? My dd used to hate that, really messed up her allergies!

Well, this last week was a bust diet wise. Don't know what it is, but it seems like I snack nonstop at dd's. & I forget to drink my water, too. We had plans to do fun things with gkids, but gs started coughing on Mon when he came from his dad's & coughed all week. A couple of Covid tests were negative, so think just a cold, or allergies. But didn't think we should take him anywhere with a cough. Then gd decided since it was spring break that she would stay up all night & sleep all day. (at least we figured she was staying up late, because what a grouch if we tried to get her up!) & it was the end of Girl Scout cookie sales, so she & dd were pretty busy with that, too! Gd wants to go to a 2 week horse camp at Girl Scout camp this summer, so dd was encouraging her to pursue sales, because it will help pay for part of it. She also had a goal to go with GS to Great Wolf Lodge & needed to sell 1700 boxes to do that. She sold 1912 boxes!! (on her own & by participating in cookie booths on the weekends) We did manage to see my bro & sil a couple of times, tho, so that was nice. We had birthday cake for gd on Sunday night which was really good! She turns 13 on the 28th. Oh well, still glad we went, even if frustrating at times. Both gkids are growing up..they are both almost as tall as me. (not saying much..I'm only 5'3") She is slowing down, but he is really shooting up!
Hope everyone has a great week. I think spring might be here..it is getting warmer, but I heard snow flurries on Wed. Boo!

@RetiredAndLovingIt The yellow pollen is just starting now. I covered up our patio furniture with plastic tarps but it’s still going to get everywhere and on everything. Wow that is a lot of cookies to sell! Good for your Gd for getting it done. Sounds like you are having a good time with the kids. Just don’t wake up a grouchy teenager!!

@trooword Ohh I hope everything goes well for your sweet girl? Who took her to Mexico? I know you will be anxious to get her back home with you.
And like you, I’m going to go back to IF and see if it will help me. I was doing so well with not eating breakfast and then I started putting cream in my coffee and then it was a half scoop of protein powder and then I started snacking at night. Enough already! IF had really helped me in the past. I hope it will help you too. 
Hello! Today, Joe went to the orthopedic doctor and his shoulder is slowly healing. They are recommending physical therapy. We also hooked him up on a heart monitor that the cardiologist ordered. He is supposed to wear it all the time for 30 days to see if his A-fib is an issue that needs treatment. We shall see! I also told Joe that I have got to get back to losing weight. I can’t believe how much I’ve gained! So, Monday is my official restart date. We are taking mom out for Mexican on Sunday, and I have some wine that needs finishing. I’ve already warned them both that our dinner menus won’t be exciting. Lots of lean protein and veggies are in their future.
