JUST FOR TODAY--One Day at a Time--Daily Commitment Thread for 2022

Hour commitment - Just had coffee stuff, I won't eat again until after 12 pm unless we need to go to the vet at that time, then I may eat a little early. Lots of errands and meetings today.0
-
I did my yoga Yay! I couldn't find the same fast marching video so I tried a different one and got mostly through it. Instead of a steady beat in the music that the leader followed, I was supposed to pick my own pace, and that did not work. I was flopping around trying to find a rhythm, which is a great way to get hurt. So I quit after 18 minutes, which is a fair try.

I got my withholding changed! Yay! That only took several months and a password reset.

Hour commitment - Early lunch almost done. After I finish my chicken, I won't eat again until after 5 pm. Can still have my dose of metamusal.0

Taking it relatively easy today, so no exercise and flexible goals. I felt pretty good this morning (except for a sore arm). I met my daughter and her younger son at a local breakfast place. My grandson had the morning off, so it was a nice opportunity to do something special with just one of the kids. He ordered chocolate chip pancakes and bacon, and was delighted when he discovered bacon dipped in pancake syrup. It was a bit windy outside, but the sun was shining and we had a lovely time. And I did make good choices - half an omelette with spinach, mushrooms, and feta, a few breakfast potatoes, and piece of buttered rye toast. Should have skipped the butter, but I'll watch my fats today.
Unfortunately, I'm feeling worn down after today's class and errands, so I might take a short nap before dinner. Hopefully, I'll be back up to speed tomorrow. It's a fair trade-off. Covid rates are rising quickly in my area. Hopefully this booster will help keep me in the classroom or, at least, from getting a bad case.
JRecap -Tuesday, 5/17
Log -
Balanced meals - Not great, but under maintenance
Hydrate -
Walk - 69 minutes around the park
Errands -
Work in the garden - Only watering, but I really need to do some weeding
Grade quizzes - No. Had a headache, so I just watched TV and went to bed early.

I forgot to put my salad on my list, but I also have it on my phone calendar, so it got done. Yay! The recipe is 1/4 cucumber, 1/4 green pepper plus a handful of baby spinach. I use skinny girl poppyseed dressing, very low cal, then add an oz of goat cheese at 70 calories. My ex used to say the only recipe I knew was "three minutes on high," but nowadays I'm branching out!
Then my mom opened a bag of potato chips. I resisted! Yay! So it looks like I have about 900 extra calories to spend tomorrow at lunch. I'm thinking about a salmon fillet with barbecue sauce. On a bun with french fries! And maybe an onion ring. But I better weigh-in before I go.

I also managed to do some weeding and planted some seeds, better late than never. Spinach and lettuce as well as some flowers. I wanted to do some more gardening in the evening, but my neighbour phoned me to tell me to close my doors, there was a huge swarm of angry wasps in a neighbour's garden. Almost everyone in the street were looking out at them. So too scary to go outside. I wish I knew where they went when they dispersed, I'm allergic to wasp stings.
Today I 'm going to take it easy with not too much bending, as I'm aching after yesterday. I need to go out, might make myself go to the garden centre as well.

Happy Wednesday y'all!
Sierra made it home safely yesterday and we talked for hours. It was really nice hearing about her year, except that she told me she went through a severe depressive episode. She did finally reach out for help, thank goodness. She lost 25 pounds in 1 month, she only weighs 115 on a good day. It broke my heart, but I stayed upbeat and encouraged her to continue seeing her therapist over the summer. I didn't want her to see my pain. It really is one of my biggest fears. My problems got worse when I went to college and I really don't want that for her. I blame myself in a way because my family has such a strong history of mental illness. I wasn't diagnosed until after I had kids, and though my mom and grandmother were both nuts, nothing was ever said or diagnosed. I often wonder if I would have still had kids if I'd known I was such a mess. I just love my girls so much I don't want them to have to live through what I have. Hopefully, now that both are in therapy at a relatively young age, things won't get as out of hand as they did with me. I didn't share this with my hubby, because I just don't know how or if she wants me to. It will break him in two. She is daddy's little girl.
As for the rest of the day, it was pretty great. V was really happy with her birthday gifts, dinner and brownies.
Today, I'm just doing the work thing and then going home and doing the mom thing. Don't feel like making goals for today...

Awh I'm sorry you feel that your history of mental health is being passed on through your children. Maybe it has but it doesn't make it your fault.
The resources and understanding of mental health is much more recognised than it used to be. And although it's hard for us parents I'm sure they will make it through it and be strong with the right support, which it sounds like they have. And with you having been through it yourself atleast you have a very good understanding too and know what they need to help them. I've always admired the stories you tell us about your kids. They sound amazing and you should give yourself credit for the wonderful girls you've raised despite you're own struggles Xx
I really need to get Marley booked in for an ADHD assessment because more and more things are becoming recognisable.
I just need to get off by fat butt and get her registered at the Dr. (Somehow they missed her application when I got everyone else joined up)4 -

pridesabtch wrote: »Sunday I skipped church to watch my girl row on ESPN+. It was cool seeing her on TV I actually took pictures of the TV my younger daughter found that hilarious. After the races I went an bought some new plant stands for outside then went to the local farm/greenhouse and bought some baskets of flowers for outside. Once Tim and I finished that, we went for a bike ride. That pretty well sums up the weekend, food was iffy, but the weekend was good.
Today I have to audit ALLLLLL day long. It's lunch time now. I grabbed a healthy bag of Cheez-its (lol) and thought I'd check in. After work if it stops raining I may do some yard work if it is raining maybe I'll clean the floors downstairs (that was on hubby's weekend list, but he wasn't feeling great).
How cool is that???!! You must feel so proud!
I had to laugh at your Cheez-Its comment because they have been taunting me and winning for about a month now! They magically jump into my grocery cart and sometimes at night they jump into baggies and wind up in my hand while I'm reading at bedtime. Sneaky little suckers....3 -
