Going fishing in Alaska with my dad at the end of June and I don’t want to feel this large and miserable. Glad to be back.
5/27-Weed wacked in the morning then went to yoga and ate a healthy dinner.
Oh, my, I'm so jealous! Hubby and I spent 5 glorious days at a fishing lodge in Alaska about 4 years ago. Best.Time.EVER!!! We were at Kulik Lodge and fished for salmon, huge rainbow, and grayling (after limiting out on salmon) during our trip. Brought home over 60 lbs of salmon filets that were wonderful. We were also blessed to be able to go see the brown bear fishing at Brooks Falls in Katmai National Park. What a day that was! Alas, all the salmon are gone now, so I guess that means we need to go back!6 -

Goals:This round begins with a flight across country (Boston to Seattle) followed by three days of wedding celebration. If I can end the round as a net “0”. I think that will be a success.

5/27 – (no scale) So travel day went well enough. Was planning to thoroughly track but had no internet on the flight, and then was busy unpacking. Then out to dinner (the kids treated). Exercise was nil, BUT I made thoughtful food choices through the day so I am pleased enough with day one of this trip. Today, I face time change struggles (have been awake since 4:50 local time, then a “pacific rim” wine pairing even as lunch, followed by chilling in a movie (need to avoid that popcorn), then dinner at another winery, and then a 9 pm (midnight for my brain) “Welcome” of drinks and sweets. Going to just do my best and make thoughtful choices and try and monitor quantities. I would get out and walk, but my feet (morton’s neuromas) are angry with the shoes that made it on this journey.

Welcome to the group! I’m in another group on another site where I suggested “101 days of summer” which would have started yesterday (I believe) and gone through Labor Day weekend. I believe we need to be MINDFUL every day. It’s not easy but it can be done and can pay off! REMINDERS: One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

5/27 - 152.3 - Sodium bump from eating out last night. Met BF, BigBro and Fam straight from work because we won't see much of them this weekend (there's a group "vacation" at the lake but with BF working and me traveling to pick up kids, we aren't attending). Not terribly worried about it. Interview done. I dislike interviews as I always feel extremely underprepared and after feel like I completely failed myself and wasted people's time. Yes, I'm extremely hard on myself. Doesn't help that I thought it was the "hiring manager" or department manager but it was a panel interview with 4 people questioning me. They said that they'd get together to discuss and the recruiter /should/ reach out to me with their decision early next week. Outside of this post, I'm trying to forget about it and calm the anxiety and nervousness. Still nothing from the county job. They said they wanted to set up interview shortly, but it's been 5 days (and their workday ends at 5pm, it's currently 4pm here so won't be today, I'm sure). I want the job I had interview today for way more, as there's so much room for growth and movement in areas of engineering which is really what I want. Nothing really else to post. I KNOW I won't be on to post tomorrow, but likely won't be back until Tuesday, especially with kiddos just coming back and weekends are all I really get to see them until I can find a local/remote job and get a better work/life balance. Goal for this round – I’ve slipped into habits that I want to change. My goals for this round will be small ones, but these are goals that I hope will help me start to form better habits again. I need to be consistent in healthy behaviours. Exercise 20 minutes per day minimum. Drink 3 glasses of water per day minimum. Keep a food and exercise journal.

Need to crack down, some of my clothes are beginning to feel a little uncomfortable, like to lose a couple of pounds this round, but any is a losst !!Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, It's took me 75 rounds to achieve my under 130 target; back to maintenance again!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back under 130. A healthy life style has to be a permanent way of life.5/26 138.4 – 5.15 miles walked, all exercise calories eaten back. 2 pounds up this round, still struggling to get back to maintenance level.

My older sister, who traveled with me, is in town until tomorrow. Sunday is my day to start returning to my routine. There’s a lot on the calendar coming up and I need to stay focused as I prep for two big art shows. I had professional photos taken of me in my art studio several years ago. As I look at them now, I’m not that same person, so one of my rewards for working so hard over the last year is to have my photos redone. I’m a year in on this journey and thrilled to have accomplished so much. It’s time to recommit to the next phase and work my way towards maintenance.

5/27 – (no scale) So travel day went well enough. Was planning to thoroughly track but had no internet on the flight, and then was busy unpacking. Then out to dinner (the kids treated). Exercise was nil, BUT I made thoughtful food choices through the day so I am pleased enough with day one of this trip. Today, I face time change struggles (have been awake since 4:50 local time, then a “pacific rim” wine pairing even as lunch, followed by chilling in a movie (need to avoid that popcorn), then dinner at another winery, and then a 9 pm (midnight for my brain) “Welcome” of drinks and sweets. Going to just do my best and make thoughtful choices and try and monitor quantities. I would get out and walk, but my feet (morton’s neuromas) are angry with the shoes that made it on this journey.
5/28 – (no scale) Did well enough, though I am confident that I likely ate more than my goal calories. Today will be the wedding. That will have it’s own challenges.
