I am wondering if there's anyone from LA here0

My Dr’s office called and cancelled my appt for my refills because they are so understaffed.
It’s part of the largest hospital in OK.
What the hell?
All these people not going to work,
how are they paying for life?2 -

We have worker shortages here too it's crazy
Can they just do the refills over the phone?1 -

The technology is there, but it hasn't been adopted widely. There are services that doctors can use such that you can have telemedicine, with both parties using their phone or pc and having face time through a camera.
That would be an easy fix for appointments for medicine prescription renewal. Idk if insurance, pay structure, or what keeps this from becoming used more.0 -

It's how it's done here. Call the pharmacy, they fax the dr and you get your refill. Easy peasy
We also do appointments over the phone or zoom. For someone with super dr anxiety this is a godsend1 -

We had telehealth calls here. Its freaking awesome for scripts, the doctor calls you tell him what scripts you need and he'll even send the escript to the pharmacy of your choice and you just go pick it up.
Of course for some things you might need to go in every 6 months for monitoring in regards to pills but still its a lot of trips saved.
Telehealth calls were started at the beginning of covid and were only going to be for a short while but they were so popular that its here for good. Plus its bulk billed to Medicare so there's no out of pocket expense above what Medicare covers.2 -
Speaking of smelling like a snack, how come men always seem to like perfumes that smell like sugar and candy and other edibles?0

Yes, normally the dr calls them in to the pharmacy.
But…. some medications require a visit every 6mos to get refilled.

My friend, she took a job in Aus and now won't be moving overseas with me. I'm so happy for her but its bittersweet. We've been through quite the journey but our paths have now divided.
I tried not to get too attached because I had feeling this would happen but I'm human..But not to be selfish, I hope she's happy wherever she ends up.
Sometimes, I just don't like goodbyes.6 -
