August goal: maintenance of 128-132
My goal this month is to maintain weight as well as increase activity. I will be moving at some point this month so I will be doing a lot of packing. Have been waiting for a definite start date on a new job, but they are still going through the process of doing background checks and such. I currently work for the State and have been accepted for another position with the State. Unfortunately, they won't just open my personnel file and retrieve the information they already have, they are doing it all over again from scratch. It has been over a month since they began. It's very frustrating. Anyway, somehow I am hoping to find time to increase workouts/walks while packing and preparing for a wedding.

Goals: Plan and Log all food, Quit sugary drinks, Manage midnight eating, increase gym time, stretch.
08/01: 190.1 - Mindful midnight eating.
08/02: 188.7 - Went swimming. Limited my iced tea/lemonade consumption to 1 glass at work.
08/03: 190.1 - Later dinner with family, heavy carbs in that meal, stress ate before bed. Sigh.
08/04: 188.6 - Stayed within my calories.
08/05: 190.0 - Came home from busy day at work to dinner made by my hubby. I thought I could "guestimate" the calories since I was starving, but once I went back and entered everything that was on that dish, I was way over calories.
08/06: 190.5 - Still combating late night hunger/cravings.
08/07: 190.5 - Zumba day. It was a lot of fun, but my left hip isn't having fun today. Lol!
08/08: 190.7 - Had a sugary drink at work again but only ate roasted veggies when I came home late.
08/09: 189.8 - Working hard at work.
08/10: 189.6 - Did not overindulge at dinner.
08/11: 188.6 - Day off and did well staying in calorie range.
08/12: 191.3 - This was a doctor's office morning weight. is my scale a few pounds off???
08/13: 190.5 - I woke up to this number, so maybe it is my weight that is up and not the scale.3 -
Hello again, everyone!!
My name is Ana.
I've struggled most of my life with almost always feeling very fat. There are pictures of me that prove me right, but there are others that prove me wrong.
2009 was the year in which I felt better about my physical appearance but in 2011, after my husband passed away I reached my highest weight (180 lbs). By 2018 I had worked my way to 140lbs and maintained it for 2 years. I was feeling very good even though I still had to battle with negative thoughts and avoided looking at myself in the mirror. Last year I learned that the pandemic and depression related to my father's death brought me back up to 156.4 lbs.
I gave myself a year to work on my health and even though I am not where I hoped to be, I am satisfied with my efforts. For the next year I will work on maintaining a fitness schedule and on relating to food in different ways... I want to eat to live instead of live for eating. I am a little scared because the first weeks of maintenance I did OK, but the last 2 weeks of July were a huge gain. On the other hand, my clothes still fit.

08/01: 137.2 (+6. 2) A huge gain last month. Still recovering from vacation gain. Determined to get back to a cleaner way of eating and to exercising more frequently and focusing on building muscle just because it burns more calories, which means I can eat more 😂
08/06: 137.0 (-0.2) That's just funny and disappointing but I know it's all my fault. This week I had restaurant food 3 times so there's a lot of salt in my system. Even though I ate within my allowance 2 times, yesterday I also succumbed to tortellini around 10pm. Not good at all. I can see it lodged in my belly.
I'm trying to get back to working out so I started a Chloe Ting 28 day challenge and today will be day 6. Also, my vacation days are over so I am looking forward to healthier eating and crazily enough, to meal planning. I see brighter, closer to130lb days ahead 🙆♀️
08/13: 135.8 (-1.2) Much better. I know it can be even better, but I'm still struggling with late night snacking. Also, my birthday was last week and let's just say I had a good taste of four desserts 👉👈
I've been exercising 5 times a week and even though the type of exercise I'm doing doesn't particularly burn a lot of calories, it seems to help with digestion.
On the brighter side, I went shopping for pants yesterday (finally!) and I was pleased to see that everything I picked fit either perfectly or too big. I've never had that happen to me before, what an experience! I am super excited that fall is coming. I want to go back to walking to work every day. If only it would stop raining so randomly...

08/12-197.8-(Trend Weight 199.4)- Eating was not very good yesterday with daughter and grandson here for the weekend. Homemade chocolate banana walnut muffins and real 2% milk. I’m surprised to see a drop. I stuck to plan on meals but there was no room for that hefty snack! Blood pressure is still running way to low with the average being about 82/53 and pulse still running a bit high. It’s in the mid 90’s but should be much lower due to the lopresser medication I’m on. Watching it carefully but felt okay yesterday. Glucose is still much too high and the muffins didn’t make things any better. Staying away from them today! I have my reunion dinner tomorrow at a buffet. I’m going to try to eat like a lady tomorrow.
08/13-198.4-(Trend Weight 199.3)- My daughter brought home Thai food from out of town. Only ate half but I retain water easier than ever these days. Reunion dinner with friends today out of town. Scale will be up again tomorrow, especially from the drive/sitting. The food won’t help either but I’ll be extra careful on Sunday. I want to stay in Onederland.

I am close to 10 pounds heavier than this time last year.
Hoping to drop weight this month, but have extended company coming, an old friend who is a chef and cooks amazing meals. So much for my grilled chicken with veggies or salad. I will do my best.
I gained 0.6 last month
Monday August 01 - 139.2 - Using last month's EW. A holiday in my Province today, but not a food holiday. I am working.
Tuesday August 02 - 138.6 - Hoping to continue to see drops before my company arrives on Saturday so that I have a "cushion". Feeling pretty lean this morning.
Wednesday August 03 - 139.0 - I had planned a cleanse for later in August, but Wild Rose has been discontinued. It is a bunch of herbs and a food plan. I do know the food columns of what to have 80% of each day etc. The herbs are organ specific. I will be looking into what else is available. Does anyone have a good kit that they use?
Thursday August 04 - 138.8 - Going to keep it very light for the next couple of days before my company arrives. He is a chef and I expect to be eating more (and richer) food than usual starting Saturday for 8 days
Friday August 05 - 139.9 - Quite surprised at this jump up, I had a very good day exercise and food wise. Going to try to take it in stride, actually feeling lean this morning.
Saturday August 05 - 138.1 - That was the last of being "good" for the next 8 days. I am going to try not to be rude and sit at the kitchen table at my laptop reading and writing into these forums while I have company (in a couple more hours from now). I will be logging and weighing, just not sure if I will make it on here or not.

August 01: 169.4 Stuck at this exact number for like 5 days, I'm patient, eventually it will drop and reflect the work I am putting in. Going to resume running today for the 1st time in almost 1 month (wasn't able to run most of July due to Covid/Covid recovery), will be interesting to see where my running fitness is.
August 02: 169.2 Successful day yesterday! Went on a short run, felt good, but will need to slowly build back up my mileage to where it was + did a full body endurance workout with weights.
August 03: 168.9 Yesterday was a Yogalates workout + a walk. Dinner was a bit heavier (calories still within my range), so pleased to see a loss today on the scale!

08/14-200.2-(Trend Weight 199.4)- What a wonderful reunion of old friends it was yesterday! I’m so glad I felt well enough to go. Sadly, I have dipped out of Onederland but I will work on that today. Especially since I see a new dr. tomorrow (endocrinologist) for my diabetes. I guess my family dr who has been managing it has simply given up and I don’t blame her.

My goal this month is to maintain weight as well as increase activity. I will be moving at some point this month so I will be doing a lot of packing. Have been waiting for a definite start date on a new job, but they are still going through the process of doing background checks and such. I currently work for the State and have been accepted for another position with the State. Unfortunately, they won't just open my personnel file and retrieve the information they already have, they are doing it all over again from scratch. It has been over a month since they began. It's very frustrating. Anyway, somehow I am hoping to find time to increase workouts/walks while packing and preparing for a wedding.

Hoping to drop weight this month, but have extended company coming, an old friend who is a chef and cooks amazing meals. So much for my grilled chicken with veggies or salad. I will do my best.

Monday August 01 - 139.2 - Using last month's EW. A holiday in my Province today, but not a food holiday. I am working.
Tuesday August 02 - 138.6 - Hoping to continue to see drops before my company arrives on Saturday so that I have a "cushion". Feeling pretty lean this morning.
Wednesday August 03 - 139.0 - I had planned a cleanse for later in August, but Wild Rose has been discontinued. It is a bunch of herbs and a food plan. I do know the food columns of what to have 80% of each day etc. The herbs are organ specific. I will be looking into what else is available. Does anyone have a good kit that they use?
Thursday August 04 - 138.8 - Going to keep it very light for the next couple of days before my company arrives. He is a chef and I expect to be eating more (and richer) food than usual starting Saturday for 8 days
Friday August 05 - 139.9 - Quite surprised at this jump up, I had a very good day exercise and food wise. Going to try to take it in stride, actually feeling lean this morning.
Saturday August 06 - 138.1 - That was the last of being "good" for the next 8 days. I am going to try not to be rude and sit at the kitchen table at my laptop reading and writing into these forums while I have company (in a couple more hours from now). I will be logging and weighing, just not sure if I will make it on here or not.

Especially since I see a new dr. tomorrow (endocrinologist) for my diabetes. I guess my family dr who has been managing it has simply given up and I don’t blame her.
08/15-199.0-(Trend Weight 199.4)- Today I see the dr for my Type 2 diabetes. It is later this afternoon but I will need a couple of hours for travel time. Dinner will be out of town. It is located on Lake Huron so I may take carryout right to the water with my son for the view. It does look like an ocean! Then walk off some of the calories doing some shopping. A nice treat since we have no stores besides a grocery and a dollar store in my town. It’s always nice getting him up out of his basement apartment and into the sunlight.

August 01: 169.4 Stuck at this exact number for like 5 days, I'm patient, eventually it will drop and reflect the work I am putting in. Going to resume running today for the 1st time in almost 1 month (wasn't able to run most of July due to Covid/Covid recovery), will be interesting to see where my running fitness is.
August 02: 169.2 Successful day yesterday! Went on a short run, felt good, but will need to slowly build back up my mileage to where it was + did a full body endurance workout with weights.
August 03: 168.9 Yesterday was a Yogalates workout + a walk. Dinner was a bit heavier (calories still within my range), so pleased to see a loss today on the scale!

08/05: 190.0 - Came home from busy day at work to dinner made by my hubby. I thought I could "guestimate" the calories since I was starving, but once I went back and entered everything that was on that dish, I was way over calories.

08/07: 190.5 - Zumba day. It was a lot of fun, but my left hip isn't having fun today. Lol!

Naturally he wants me on insulin but I still think I can lose more weight and that always makes my oral meds more effective. I’ve asked him for some time. I see him again in 3 months. He is going to have me test more often and fax him the numbers. I was told before to fasting test in the morn, this one wants it morn, after meals and before meals rotated daily for a short bit so he can follow the pattern. He may up my Trulicity shot for now but he actually raised his voice about the insulin. I’ve got a lot of work to do if I want to avoid the insulin. I just don’t want to become insulin dependent. Travel again tomorrow way downstate for the breast cancer stuff. Let’s hope that goes better than last time when I ended up with emergency biopsy and then, ultimately surgery. I’ve got to get better control of my life or my health will only get worse! I know this.

08/17-200.4-(Trend Weight 199.6)- Mamm and oncologist today for routine breast cancer remission care. Hoping for a good report. This is the longest trip of all my medical trips and I get it done every year before the harsh Michigan winter hits. My son will be with me thjs year. I’ve got the wedding coming up and I don’t want to look like swine in my dress! I’ve got to stay on top of this glucose issue too.

My goal this month is to maintain weight as well as increase activity. I will be moving at some point this month so I will be doing a lot of packing. Have been waiting for a definite start date on a new job, but they are still going through the process of doing background checks and such. I currently work for the State and have been accepted for another position with the State. Unfortunately, they won't just open my personnel file and retrieve the information they already have, they are doing it all over again from scratch. It has been over a month since they began. It's very frustrating. Anyway, somehow I am hoping to find time to increase workouts/walks while packing and preparing for a wedding.

I have been on MFP since October 2018.
I am close to 10 pounds heavier than this time last year.
Hoping to drop weight this month, but have extended company coming, an old friend who is a chef and cooks amazing meals. So much for my grilled chicken with veggies or salad. I will do my best.
I gained 0.6 last month
Monday August 01 - 139.2 - Using last month's EW. A holiday in my Province today, but not a food holiday. I am working.
Tuesday August 02 - 138.6 - Hoping to continue to see drops before my company arrives on Saturday so that I have a "cushion". Feeling pretty lean this morning.
Wednesday August 03 - 139.0 - I had planned a cleanse for later in August, but Wild Rose has been discontinued. It is a bunch of herbs and a food plan. I do know the food columns of what to have 80% of each day etc. The herbs are organ specific. I will be looking into what else is available. Does anyone have a good kit that they use?
Thursday August 04 - 138.8 - Going to keep it very light for the next couple of days before my company arrives. He is a chef and I expect to be eating more (and richer) food than usual starting Saturday for 8 days
Friday August 05 - 139.9 - Quite surprised at this jump up, I had a very good day exercise and food wise. Going to try to take it in stride, actually feeling lean this morning.
Saturday August 06 - 138.1 - That was the last of being "good" for the next 8 days. I am going to try not to be rude and sit at the kitchen table at my laptop reading and writing into these forums while I have company (in a couple more hours from now). I will be logging and weighing, just not sure if I will make it on here or not.

Tuesday August 09 - 138.8 - Surprised (but glad) that it wasn't more, especially since I was up and weighing at 5am. Getting stuff done before my company wakes up : - )

Saturday August 13 - 139.8 - Wow, usually my weight fluctuates like crazy, but staying at the same number is cool, especially after eating so very well all week with my Chef friend here whipping up all sorts of rich foods accompanied by wine.
Sunday August 14 - 141.3 - Well, it caught up with me. Lots of good leftovers over the next few days, I will try to keep the quantities low. - I see that I had my dates mixed up. Fixed them
Monday August 15 - 140.1 - I still have some really good food left, but will keep the portions smaller, and no wine or cocktails.
Tuesday August 16 - 139.4 - Still working on leftovers, tonight should be the last. I am going to have pesto that was made out of things in my garden with some Konjac pasta (10 calories for the whole pack), a bit of chicken mixed in and a salad. It would be nice to see that 136.2 from Aug 07th again soon.
Wednesday August 17 - 139.1 - It seems to be coming down. I am working at it.5 -

August 01: 169.4 Stuck at this exact number for like 5 days, I'm patient, eventually it will drop and reflect the work I am putting in. Going to resume running today for the 1st time in almost 1 month (wasn't able to run most of July due to Covid/Covid recovery), will be interesting to see where my running fitness is.
August 02: 169.2 Successful day yesterday! Went on a short run, felt good, but will need to slowly build back up my mileage to where it was + did a full body endurance workout with weights.
August 03: 168.9 Yesterday was a Yogalates workout + a walk. Dinner was a bit heavier (calories still within my range), so pleased to see a loss today on the scale!

August 13: DNW Been out of town and got back late last night and slept in this morning so will weigh in tomorrow. Expect to be a up with a few vacation pounds but will work to be back down in the next week.
August 14: 171.0 Not too bad (I'd hoped to stay under a 3 lb. gain, so sucess!) My goal is to be back in the 169s before next Sunday. Went for a long walk yesterday, today is technically a rest day but will be very active getting things done around the house/yard.
August 15: 170.1 Vacation weight is coming off! Delicious meal at home last night with herbs, tomatoes, peppers, and zucchini from our garden mixed with some red lentil pasta.
August 16: 169.4 Yay, back to my round start weight! Yesterday went for a walk and did a Pilates workout. My running and more strenuous workouts are on hold for the moment due to some inflammation in my knee, it's always something:) Need to meal plan and grocery shop today, husband is making salsa as we are in tomato overload from the garden.
August 17: 169.0 Didn't get my lunch time walk + weights workout in on my lunch hour yesterday because was tied up on work calls and then was off to run errands for 3 hours after work. At least I got some steps in doing that! Grabbed Chick Fil A on the way home but just got nuggets and made my own chicken Ceasar salad when I got home for dinner.
