    There was also that woman who looked remarkably like Smurfy but wasn't her, Wendy something. Can't remember exactly.

    It was 55 when I left the house this morning but unfortunately it’s going up to 90 at the weekend

    We know what it means and we use it when we want to sound fancy

    eta: we don’t usually capitalize the seasons though. I’m not sure if that’s a uniquely UK thing or not

    Also the code switching is funny to me because I tend to lean harder into not just my American-ness, but my New York-ness as well, using turns of phrase that I know are distinctly from my region
