I remember my grandfather keeping a batch of sourdough yeast alive in his fridge. Every time we'd visit, he'd make sourdough pancakes and sourdough grilled cheese sandwiches.

I remember when my sourdough starter became too much of an obligation so I killed it

I remember that Wednesday morning when everything felt so perfect in my world. I want more of those days.

I remember my 7th grade crush, *Greg, telling my bff "he wouldn't touch me with a 10 foot pole."

I remember running into *Greg in a bar when I was 21, he bought me a drink and I declined. As I was leaving I stopped and asked him if he knew who I was, he said "No, should I?" I smiled and walked away.

Peachesnstuff's memory reminded me that I learned at an early age about life and death of pets and people. But it never got any easier!

It doesn't. Even if you're prepared for it.

I remember my dog dying when I was about 6 years old. We buried him in the back yard and I'd go sit with him every day. I'd bring him snacks, read him books, bring his favorite toys, and even bring a blanket when it was cold outside
    ❤️❤️❤️

I used to cry over my cat while she was still alive because I understood her eventual death was inevitable. Yes, I still grieve things before they end. Especially summer

Yup. You and I have had this conversation before. I often tell my dogs to please outlive me bc I don't ever want to feel that pain. 💔

Make your next pet a tortoise, which often live well over 100 years, and this'll never be a problem again.

Plus I would have to stay alive for 200 years to take care of them or my ghost would walk the earth with guilt

I remember a little yellow parakeet we named Perry. We taught it different whistles and that was cute.
My mom liked zebra finches and so she some and whenever I meeped at them they meeped back MEEP MEEP MEEP MEEP MEEP!! Felt special bc they only did that with me.
When we adopted a cat, the bird days were over. No fish too. Apex predators chasing off all the wild birds and squirrels that used to frequent the yard. It’s a cat’s world!
Used to have deer in the backyard too before they built the cul-de-sac. Salamanders with the electric blue tail living under shady spots.
Once I was watching a caterpillar on a blade of grass and a dragonfly came along and snatched him up. Traumatized but that’s nature 😅.
Opossums breaking into mom’s place and once they figured out there was cat food in there they kept coming back until we found where they were getting in. The first time I saw one in the bathroom I screamed so loud. It was a just a baby but looked like a big rat. Mom almost adopted it but ultimately decided it should stay wild.
Anyway this had no direction I’m just rambling per usual

Since it's Christmas card ordering time, I was thinking of an ex coworker who died right before Thanksgiving a bunch of years ago. He went in for surgery and it didn't end well but mostly I'm thinking about how I half blame myself for his death because we used a template with our Christmas card ordering company with all of our signatures on it and I ordered before he was out of the clear.

    And irony.

    Or murphy's law.

Also, our last conversation was me giving him tips on his first colonoscopy which basically sums up our work relationship and it's funnier than it sounds. :)

ALSO, this little exchange when he got his "male" exam:

    Him: He examined my prostate.
    Me: Did he use lube?

How did you just tell a story that was both funny and sad at the same time? Maybe you should write for TV

I remember the time, not too long ago, I was coerced into shooting darts. Which I hate. When the song No Diggity came on I said “if any song is going to make me hit a bullseye, it’s this song”. And I did. Like a movie.

I remember playing oregon trail on old mac computers, AOL instant messenger and chat rooms, and dial up internet. Met a friend from Iraq on a chat room I wasn't supposed to be in during the middle of the night ant grandmas house when I was a young girl and thankfully he was harmless and is still a friend.

I also remember on a trip to a state FCCLA convention when I tried to call my mom to tell her we made it and were settled at the hotel... I didn't usually call home, I almost always called my friend's house when I used a phone and I accidentally dialed her number. She was with me at the convention and I accidentally woke up her father. Told him I'm so sorry, but we're here and we're fine, have a good night!

Ran across these today😂 Apparently ‘98 was a big year for me. I wish I had all the ticket stubs from those years. I don’t actually remember all of this. But I remember parts. Lol

So my mom is a pure redneck, having said that here's my story

When I was 12, my mom decided to take me and my grandpa to hooters for our birthdays. At the time they would put you on a stool in the middle of the restaurant and spank you as their birthday tradition.
When it was my time to be put on the spot I hopped up on the stool and was nervous as hell. Hopped up, smiled through the awkwardness of 2 or 4 waitresses popping me on the butt and then it was time to hop off of the stool. One of the waitresses who was probably 5 foot and 100lbs had me convinced she could catch me if I jumped.....bad move. I jumped, and then proceeded to elbow her right in the head and give her a black eye 🤦‍♂️

my boss telling me never to clean up after a man in an office setting. She was a wonderful straight shooter & I didn’t realize how rare that is. I remember you fondly, Michel.

One time I had to go to Home Depot so many times in one day because I kept buying the wrong pieces for a pressure washer that they offered me a job. True story, she said she wasn’t kidding.

Same day….I pressure washed my extremely tall 1920’s rental property. As high as I could. And then some new neighbors came down the alley to introduce themselves and I was covered with water and junk off the house from the cleaning job.

It was no Hooters experience. I have a funny Hooters story though.

I ŕemember when my kids were young ( 3,5,7,8) we lived 25km out of town on a property. Big grocery shop days were a once a fortnight on a Thursday event. The youngest was baby sat for the day while the others were at school. I made sure when they got home there'd be special surprises on their bed, some junk like chocolate bar, pkt chips, candy necklace etc plus pencils, colour in books, reading book once it was little kaleidoscopes another slinkies. They loved Thursdays..
