Hello all, I’m Amanda from Michigan. I have some scary medical procedures this month (Dec 2, 5, 6) but otherwise would like to lose or maintain. I lost 49 pounds since March and gained 4 back last month. I worked hard to lose those 49 and I know it’s easy to gain.
Best of luck to all and welcome to any new members!

Yesterday I ate pizza and chocolate. I feel pretty awful today. I had not a single vegetable yesterday. Gotta get a grip.
I can’t seem to get enough sleep. I just toss and turn and can’t seem to get restful sleep. It’s been like this since I had my surgery. Maybe I need new pillows.

I usually get down in the dumps during the holidays and was surprised and relieved it had not come yet. Then it hit me last night like a ton of bricks. I will be seeing family and friends today, so I will put a smile on my face. 1 below here with 25 below windchill.

Well, I came to my parents house and decided to spend the night last night because I was tired of facing the bad roads and I thought my mood might be better if I wasn’t alone.
It is a balmy 16 degrees here today, so I’m ready to get my bikini and go sunbathe! Donna and Ashley, wanna join me? ☀️❄️
Wishing everyone a safe, warm Christmas!

Well, Christmas happened. Hoping I can get back down to my starting December weight by the end of the month. Back to work and doctor’s appointments this week.
12/27: 205.7
Christmas weight coming off. Getting back into the swing of things is a little harder than I thought it would be. I’m just so exhausted. I don’t usually make New Year’s resolutions but I’m going to try this year to see if it helps with this fatigue.

12/27-200.8-(Trend Weight 198.9)- Up another 0.2 but that’s not bad after our huge Family Christmas dinner yesterday. Forced all the leftovers on the kids to take home. They all took tons of goodies home too and still a lot left. Gonna box them up and force them on others whenever possible. I don’t need all this fudge and cookies in this house!

Dec 6: 171.4
Dec 7: 171 (Busy now with company at the house. Took today off to run some errands with my Dad.)

Dec 12: 171.8
Dec 13: 174.6 (Today my husband leaves for a business trip. He and I will have lunch downtown before he goes. I have a full house of company so there are lots of folks around while he's gone but I always miss him!)

Dec 19: 176.2 (Feeling good today, yesterday was just a blip I guess. Busy work day and we're under an extreme cold warning so I have stayed inside. Husband was off and spent the day baking so there are lots of goodies in the house.)

We're down to three days in 2022.
This day last year I was so unhappy I literally made a note on my calendar I would make a drastic change if things didn't improve. But they did improve. I made some smaller changes and focused on myself. This has been a legit peaceful holiday and I'm not sure I can say that about many.
I'm back to caring for my body and looking forward to getting some nice new clothes in a few weeks!

12/26: 206.7
Well, Christmas happened. Hoping I can get back down to my starting December weight by the end of the month. Back to work and doctor’s appointments this week.
12/27: 205.7
Christmas weight coming off. Getting back into the swing of things is a little harder than I thought it would be. I’m just so exhausted. I don’t usually make New Year’s resolutions but I’m going to try this year to see if it helps with this fatigue.
12/28: 205.6
Yuck, I feel bloated today. I had a good day yesterday, not sure why I feel this way. It doesn’t look like I will have a loss this month but at least I’m maintaining.
12/29: 205.7
Not much to say today except ouch! Everything hurts! Gotta get movin!

This is so great! I love hitting goals. It’s nice when you have put the work in and then there is actual progress! Yay for the new clothes, there’s got to be some great sales after the holiday.3 -

Anyway, rehab today so there will be some travel. Shopping after for some Christmas clearance I hope.
12/29-199.0-(Trend Weight 199.1)- Bloat is gone. Now to work on the fat rolls! I ended up having to cancel my rehab appt yesterday. I am required to do a glucose check before I come and mine was at 366. The Christmas Feast 36 hours before on Monday night was still affecting me I think. And the stress of it all too. I’m not allowed to do the cardiology rehab on days that my sugar is running 300 or over. I’ve really got to figure out how to cut carbs without eating any fat due to my cholesterol.

I’ll try to focus on the better stuff and stay away from the dessert table. I’ve had enough sugar through the holidays!

@joans1976 Your immune system is really working overtime right now with the cancer and healing from procedures. You will, of course, get sick with other things very easily. Sounds like your body is hard at work helping heal those cancer related things. That is great! Good job on the hydrating and rest! Resting especially, will let your body do it's wonderous things! Your getting better........and I am so glad to hear it.1 -
Feel better soon @joans19761

Name: Ashley
Original Starting Weight (Jan/21): 293
December Starting Weight: 170.8
Target Maintenance Range: 160-165
Dec 1: 170.8 (Starting December 0.8 higher than November. I am going on a 3 week vacation in 2 months and I'd like to be back to my maintenance range by then. Very cold and snowy here today. Happy December! We have a Christmas potluck at work today.)
Dec 2: 171
Dec 3: 172
Dec 4: 174.2 (Great weekend full of fun. Clearly I had a lot of indulgence. We had dinners with friends, checked out a Christmas market, did an afternoon tea, got our house set up for Christmas, and welcomed my dad who will be staying with us for weeks. Tis the season!)
Dec 5: 173.4
Dec 6: 171.4
Dec 7: 171 (Busy now with company at the house. Took today off to run some errands with my Dad.)
Dec 8: 170.8 (Had my two holiday work events and feel like I navigated them well. Minimal drinks, waited to start on food before most had had a few plates.)
Dec 9: 171.2
Dec 10: 171.2
Dec 11: 173.8 (My brother and his fiancee arrived yesterday so I now officially have a very full house. My husband is like a short order cook right now so some of the normal weighing and measuring he does for me when it's just us is a lot to ask right now. We went out to a Christmas market yesterday so I got some steps from that but I should have exercised on top of that.)
Dec 12: 171.8
Dec 13: 174.6 (Today my husband leaves for a business trip. He and I will have lunch downtown before he goes. I have a full house of company so there are lots of folks around while he's gone but I always miss him!)
Dec 14: 175
Dec 15: 174.6
Dec 16: 174.6 (Happy to be holding and not swooping back up to 175, which is 10 pounds higher than I want to be at max. Things have quieted down on the company front for the weekend before picking up again on Monday, and I can now say my last full week of work for 2022 is behind me.)
Dec 17: 176.2 (So much for holding. I am sloppily tracking at best, or skipping days, so it's to be expected. It is hard with the company, but that's no excuse. I need to get on the Peloton today for sure!)
Dec 18: 176 (My nose is a bit runny, but I feel fine. It's super cold here right now and snowy, and it's low humidity where I live. Could just be that. We'll see....)
Dec 19: 176.2 (Feeling good today, yesterday was just a blip I guess. Busy work day and we're under an extreme cold warning so I have stayed inside. Husband was off and spent the day baking so there are lots of goodies in the house.)
Dec 20: 175
Dec 21: 175.4
Dec 22: 175
Dec 23: 176.8
Dec 24: 177.6 (Today my Dad heads home after 20 days here. It was a great visit. We have friends stopping by to drop off gifts, the Bills games, and lots of eating. The extreme cold weather snap is finally breaking so I also plan to go for a walk later. I think I still have to take my Mom out to a few stores too. Busy day ahead! Enjoy your Christmas Eve friends!)
Dec 25: 179.2
Dec 26: 178.6
Dec 27: 179 (Sick with a cold and it's making me hungry. That and all the overeating as of late.. so true that eating leads to more eating! I can't get enough. I am back to tracking today... need to keep myself accountable. Do not want to see the 180's again!)
Dec 28: 179.6 (On track day yesterday until I ended the night with a snack binge.)
Dec 29: 180.4
Dec 30: 178.8 (The last couple of days have been disciplined. Need to stay focused and on track. My husband is getting back into the swing of things on his weight loss journey too which helps.)3 -

Everything hurts but it’s nothing some coffee and Tylenol can’t fix.
This month’s weight recap: I started at 205.7 and ended at 205.7! That’s weird, I didn’t do that intentionally. Ideally I would have lost but I faced a lot of challenges this month and I’m trying to be kinder to myself.
End of year recap:
I don’t want this to turn into a novel so I’ll just say 2022 has been a traumatic year and not just for me.
On a positive note, weight wise I lost 49 pounds since March 28 but gained 4 pounds back. I lowered my blood pressure and got taken off the medications and lowered my cholesterol although it is still slightly elevated.
I was diagnosed with breast cancer this year and although I am still in active treatment, I know I will beat it, my doctors know I will beat it. I could be in a much worse situation than I am with this and I have a great support system!
Happy New Year to all! I am so glad to have internet met you and rely on our daily interactions, so thank you. What is everyone’s plans this weekend ? Have a safe and happy new year!!! 🎆

12/30-200.0-(Trend Weight 199.2)- I travel today a bit further than usual to get in some of that after-Christmas shopping and get son out of the house. I don’t want to go out tomorrow on New Year’s Eve if I don’t have too. We are going down to the city that has a Golden Corral. I’ll try to focus on the better stuff and stay away from the dessert table. I’ve had enough sugar through the holidays!
12/31-199.8-(Trend Weight 199.2)- My son & I decided last minute to go shopping in a big small town instead of further away in the big big town where they have Golden Corral. We both felt we just won’t not need that much food and keeping it under control can be hard there for small towners like us. I ended up with a trickle of a drop on the scale which is way better than a gain. I found a few bargains and a few new Christmas décor pieces at ½ off. I had the worst sleep (or lack thereof) of my life last night. Today is going to be a rough day! I’m not happy with the 3.6 lb gain this month. January I will pay the fiddler.

My husband is getting back into the swing of things on his weight loss journey too which helps.)
Dec 31: 177 (Well December wasn't my best month but overall I'm ending 2022 over 10 pounds lighter than I started it. I faced great success in hitting my maintenance range and staying there for a while and then some life stress and other issues caused some gain but it's all part of the learning process and I hope to say the same this time next year - that I'm lighter in a year than I am today.)3
