My name is Donna. I am 5’ 5” tall, 62 years old and from the Midwest USA. In 2016 I weighed 253 lbs. I am on a journey of health and to get back to the real me.
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

12/05-197.8-(Trend Weight 197.7)- It seems like I hover around the same pound or two for months, then finally see a nice little drop. My last substantial drop was when I dipped into Onederland. Now I seem to be staying there no matter what (yay) but not really making any lasting further progress again. Looking for my next real drop or whoosh. They need to come faster!
12/06-199.6-(Trend Weight 197.9)- I just couldn’t get full yesterday. I ate 5 small meals plus 2 snacks and I truly did not even realize it. I should have been logging! Anyway, I was shocked when I stepped on the scale until I realized that it was also an expected bloat day. Today is a pill day so that, along with careful meal planning, should allow a better scale result tomorrow. I must stay strong!

@twilcoxstratton Welcome! We are so glad you have joined up! I too self sabotage after I have made progress. I haven't figured out how to stop it yet. When I get time, I will try to research for some answers for us sabotagers!1 -
Hello all, I’m Amanda from Michigan. I have some scary medical procedures this month (Dec 2, 5, 6) but otherwise would like to lose or maintain. I lost 49 pounds since March and gained 4 back last month. I worked hard to lose those 49 and I know it’s easy to gain.
Best of luck to all and welcome to any new members!

12/07-198.0-(Trend Weight 197.9)- Always honest….always with accountability….. Yesterday was much better but still not perfect. Now that the reno is mainly done, I don’t have people here everyday, and I’m fully decorated for Christmas, I think maybe boredom has set in? Especially in the evening when all my household work is all done. I think I need to start a new book or something. NOT SNACK. No bloat today, good TMI and good meal choices helped facilitate this drop. But my habits need to go back to very good, not just good. Good is not good enough when I still have 50 pounds to lose! Travel tomorrow and Friday. Thur = more dental. Fri = Cardiac Rehab Orientation and exercise testing to see my current level. These are in two different cities in opposite directions. I plan on being mindful but we all know how me and big town restaurants go. I'm going to work on my attitude today. First thought for Friday during rehab.....I'll be going twice a week for about 3 months. I don't need to eat all the food up in one visit. I've got plenty of time to s..p..r..e..a..d i..t o..u..t. @joans1976 I am so relieved that you are doing well. It is too bad about the tummy tuck, but the main thing is that you are tolerating your procedures well. Don't give up on that tuck. God works in mysterious ways and by the time it becomes available again, your stomach will be even smaller and your skin even more ready! BTW I still owe you a letter. I haven't forgotten.3 -
@joans1976 Hope your recovery is going well.. thinking of you4

Dec 3: 172
Dec 4: 174.2 (Great weekend full of fun. Clearly I had a lot of indulgence. We had dinners with friends, checked out a Christmas market, did an afternoon tea, got our house set up for Christmas, and welcomed my dad who will be staying with us for weeks. Tis the season!)
Dec 5: 173.4
Dec 6: 171.4
Dec 7: 171 (Busy now with company at the house. Took today off to run some errands with my Dad.)3 -

Dec. 7 185.5 lbs Wednesday is my weekly check in. Happy to see movement in the right direction. I have been tracking what I am consuming and consuming my alloted calories. Hurt both my feet in different places and it is tender to walk but going to try the treadmill on Thursday.4 -
Heaviest weight: 234
Starting weight: November 27- 229.6
Down 1 pound so far
November 28- 229.3
I completed my goals yesterday and it feels good. I didn’t drink all 155 ounces of water, but I drank more than I usually do.
November 29- 229.5
To be honest, it’s always frustrating to see the scale go back up even though I know it’s part of this game. Right now I should realize that I’m taking baby steps toward getting back into the habit of logging every day. I’m not so worried about going over my calories right now, it’s about getting back into it.
This morning I ate the rest of the pumpkin roll from Thanksgiving and I thought… “well I blew it for the day!” Then I logged it as breakfast and felt better. One misstep does not ruin everything! Log it, count it, and move on.
November 30- 228.3 👍
Feeling great!!
My hubby and I did a road trip yesterday to pick up my daughter’s bike at college, since it’s getting too cold for her to ride it. I didn’t drink a ton of water since we were in the car for 2 hours each way, so I drank more when we got home. Today I feel thirsty.
December 1st— 229.6 🧐
December 2nd— 228.6 😍
It’s been so busy at work and at home… but it’s been nice to take a moment for myself and time to catch up with logging.
December 8th —228.1 🥰
Progress…not perfection…is the goal.
THIS MONTH’S GOALS:
💦Drink more water.
It’s time to flush out! According to my body weight I should be drinking 155 ounces per day.
💦Stretch/walk for 30 minutes each day.
💦Take my vitamins
💦Log my food… all of it.😊3 -

12/09-198.4-(Trend Weight 197.8)- Travel again today, this time for the cardiac rehab. I’m nervous about it because of my breathing difficulty. At least the roads are clear for driving.

Hey everyone, I'm Tanya from Wyoming. I am 5'4" and weigh 267.8. Every few months I start MFP and do outstanding for a few weeks, and then I stop because I have self sabotaged myself. I feel like a failure when I give up. My hopes with putting this on here is that I will be more accountable. So here is to my 1st challenge.
December 1:
December 2:
December 3:
December 4:
December 5: 267.8 (Just started Today's victory was not eating any of the birthday cake in the lounge. Did I think about it most of the day, YES!!
December 6: 266.4
December 7: 264.2
December 8: 261.8. Victory over the lounge yet again. 7 Boxes of cookies sit in the lounge. Of course all of my favorites were there. I just went in and got my water and left with no cookies. VICTORY!!!
December 9: 259.8.5 -
I am back in for December. My name is Mary and I join for the accountability and the benefit I noticed is I have a better understanding on how my weight fluctuations due to calories and lack of activity.
My goal is to lose the weight I put on since April. I know it won't be done this month but I can go in that direction.
Goal weight is 175lb.
Current weight 187lbs.
December goal 185lbs.
Dec. 1 187lbs
Dec. 7 185.5 lbs Wednesday is my weekly check in. Happy to see movement in the right direction. I have been tracking what I am consuming and consuming my alloted calories. Hurt both my feet in different places and it is tender to walk but going to try the treadmill on Thursday.
Dec. 8 185.5 and walked on the treadmill for 30 minutes.
Dec. 8 1854 -
Heaviest weight: 234
Starting weight: November 27- 229.6
Down 3.8 pounds so far
December 9th — 227 🥰
December 10th — 225.8 🥰 I love soup! It’s easy and hot. Most days I’m running out the door to get to work on time, so I grab a can of Campbell’s Chunky soup and lunch is done! I usually pair it with a bag of pretzels….I just drink more water to compensate for all the salt.
I’ve been doing soup for dinner, too. Mostly chicken broth with mushrooms and scallions…along with a piece of toast. Seems ti be working for now.
Progress…not perfection…is the goal.
THIS MONTH’S GOALS:
💦Drink more water.
It’s time to flush out! According to my body weight I should be drinking 155 ounces per day.
💦Stretch/walk for 30 minutes each day.
💦Take my vitamins
💦Log my food… all of it.😊5 -
Hello all, I’m Amanda from Michigan.

I just don’t care today. I have too much to do and too much on my mind. I’m not sleeping well.

I guess I’m in maintenance mode.

Stubborn fat. Surgery in 2 hours. Dying for some coffee! I’m keeping my fingers crossed they decide to do a quick tummy tuck while I’m under 😂
12/7: DNW
Good news: the surgeon got clean margins on the tumor
Bad news: He forgot to do the tummy tuck
I’m just resting up and nursing my pain today.

12/9: 209.6
‼️It pains me to type that weight. I’m pretty sure it’s inflammation from the surgery but I just worry.
12/10: 209.4
Ugh. I’m not sure if I should keep weighing in to hold myself accountable or stop because it is depressing me. The weird thing is I have had zero appetite since surgery which was Tuesday. A friend came and brought me a ton of fruit and veggies and I’m looking forward to that.3 -
@twilcoxstratton I love your victories! It is so easy to get stressed or bored or the 3 pm munchies and head for the (usually) unhealthy snacks in the break room. Way to go!
@jm216 You got this!1 -
@joans1976
You showed a bit of a drop today, very nice considering that you prolly have a lot of inflamation still lingering from your surgery. Don't be so hard on yourself! Remember, you are beating cancer right now. Weighing daily, staying accountable and giving the weight your best shot is wonderful. But eliminating that cancer and healing is the first priority. Stick with your plan. The numbers will show eventually.4 -
My name is Donna. I am 5’ 5” tall, 62 years old and from the Midwest USA. In 2016 I weighed 253 lbs. I am on a journey of health and to get back to the real me.
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

12/10-198.4-(Trend Weight 197.9)- I can’t tell you how thrilled I am that there was no change after travel, restaurant, lots of extra sitting, and lack of the water pill yesterday. I take this as a win! I really watched my portion sizes especially since most of the food was not in plan. The rehab was mainly paperwork. Interesting that they also will train me in nutrition improvements (for the heart healthy), stress management, depression or anxiety issues and so much more than just physical exercise that will be allowed. I went on a treadmill for 15 minutes to get my current safe level with the EKG on and tolerated it well. It was not super fast but a starting point. Otherwise, the whole 2 hours was paperwork and surveys.
