@joans1976 - Your body is, and has been, going through a lot of changes right now. Even if you are being consistent, sometimes our bodies find ways of resisting us (in my case my thyroid), and we just need to disipline it into new thinking.

My endocrinologist told me that it may take three months to see weight loss results due to my thyroid being out of whack. I finally tried staying consistent with my daily calorie counting for several weeks (as opposed to being good for four days and and being off for three) and finally saw results. (But an injury gave me an excuse to slack off and then I couldn't find the time to get back on track and here I am again, back at my starting weight. Lol!)

Focus on staying consistent with your diet. Stay on course. Then, in several weeks, if there is no change, you can go to your doctor and talk to them about a possible medical issue being at play causing the lack of weight loss. But you have to stay strong and keep doing what you are doing!

@carolinebrussels - Welcome! I really hear and feel ya! While developing a thyroid issue in my 20's (along with enjoying eating out A LOT) started my battle with weight gain, my first pregnancy is what lead to my first major weigh gain and seemed to "set" my weight at 188. Three more pregnancies would balloon me up to the 240's and then I would re-set back to that 188ish mark.

I am trying to stay consistent with my daily calorie intake and my taking my throid medicine on time every day.

Weight in blue makes me blue because it’s a gain. Weight in fuchsia pink makes me feel cheery because it’s a loss. Weight in black means no change.

02/03-197.8-(Trend Weight 196.8)- It’s all catching up to the scale, including the Chinese food. DD the foodie came last night and will be here until Saturday night or Sunday (not sure yet). I’ve got to stay diligent. I couldn’t finish the Chinese yesterday as I find myself eating less most of the time. I will finish it today for lunch but push extra water again. Tonight I plan on possibly trying the palm heart linguini I bought with some low carb sauce for dinner. I hope it is good and don’t gag me. I have such aversions to so many foods. I read (in my research) that they are good so we shall see. Gosh, the scale went up over 3 pounds in 48 hours. But don’t let that fool ya! January was a good month for me and February will also be good. Excellence, diligence, strength, resolve and dedication will all be on my plate!

02/04-196.4-(Trend Weight 196.8)- I fasted yesterday until 2:00 pm which made me miss a meal. I also worked more in my bedroom with the clothing organizing. I cleaned out another drawer (the t-shirt drawer) and also worked on replacing more hangers with the wire-top velvet hangers. They are thinner which helps me fit more in the closet. Also, no more clothing falling off the white plastic ones to the floor. Clothes stick like glue on them. Love it! That, along with my routine exercise machines helped me burn extra calories for the day. I’ll be working more in the bedroom today but I really need to make the food choices even better and as healthy as I can handle. I see an endocrinologist for the 1st time on Feb 15th where I will try to convince them to keep me off insulin and allow me to let my diet lower my blood glucose levels along with the help of my current pill-form diabetes medicines. I plan on asking them to give me 3 months (until the next A1C blood test) to prove that I can improve with a proper lower carb diabetic diet. So I better start eating one, or more specifically, STICK TO eating one!

Hi there! I’m Amanda from Michigan. Pretty cold and gray here but I plan to visit Bali this year so I keep that in mind. ☀️
I start radiation therapy for breast cancer treatment this month and have no idea how my body will react to that, so I’m setting my goal low, to get into Onederland and stay there, even if it’s 199!

    ❤️Feb 1: 200.5
    💔Feb 2: 201.2
I seriously think my body is allergic to Onederland.
    💔Feb 3: 201.4
    💔Feb 4: 202.7
Heartbreaking. I’m watching my macros and I was only 10 calories over yesterday. I weigh every gram I eat and every ounce I drink, even black coffee. I eat 5 servings of fruit/veggies everyday. I have sodium set lower than what MFP recommends. I drink 90-100 ounces of water everyday. I’m trying, I’m really, really trying.
    ❤️Feb 5: 201.2
I keep forgetting to post my something fun for February. I wish it involved a beach and sipping something delicious while the tropical breeze ruffled my hair…anyway, my friend from Bali is coming here and I haven’t seen her for a year. It will be so good to see her! She’s like a breath of fresh a

Oo I remember joining in with these back in 2021 and really enjoyed doing it, thanks Jill!

These 1 month challenges helped me lose around 20lb over the course of 4 months, and helped me keep everything in perspective. Unfortunately i gained a lot back during 2022 when I fell off the wagon, but hey ho. I got back in the game mid January and have lost 7lbs since then, yay! Things are showing down now though and I've got another 20lbs to go to get me back to my February 2022 weight, which was when I stopped logging and weighing. I'm aiming for 130lbs ultimately (or maybe lower if I feel like I need to) but for now my goal is to get my body size back down to a place where I can feel more confident and uninhibited to enjoy the spring and summer ahead, rather than hiding away and feeling blue, and to get my fitness levels back up so I can feel strong and energised.

I like adding an emoji every day to reflect my reaction to my weigh in. Looking back on the data from these challenges and cross-referencing with my mfp food and exercise diary has been really useful for showing me what worked well in the past.

I did get in a 30 minute stationary bike ride last night, but otherwise….Babysat DGS so there were a lot of stairs, just not a lot of steps. I’ll work on doing better today. Today will be a bit of a high sodium day as I finish up my egg drop soup from an out-of-town restaurant. I’ve pre-logged my day and am already sipping water alongside my coffee. I woke up starving with my stomach continually growling. Today will be challenging but do-able if I just stick to the prelogged plan.

02/06-195.6-(Trend Weight 196.5)- I ate something for the first time last night that I thought I would HATE. Scallops! Even after rinsing they smelled so fishy but I followed the simple and fast recipe and OMGOSH, they were delicious. Thank you Gordon Ramsey for giving me the faith to try. I was having spaghetti squash with a cream basil alfredo sauce and decided I needed to add some protein and had them in my freezer. After a quick thaw in a bowl, they were only 4 or 5 minutes to cook. According to MFP, the 5 small scallops came in at 89 calories and 4 carbs. I will be having them again!

Happy February! I earn a heart when I stay under calories. I'm shooting for consistency this month and losing 5 pounds.

Fun February Goal - Return to Zumba classes.

January Weight Loss = 0.7 lbs
    February Weight Loss =

    2/01 - 187.3 ❤
    2/02 - 186.7❤
    2/03 - 190.2❤ - sodium I believe
    2/04 - 188.2 <3
2/05 - 191.1 - Late shift always equals over-eating (+250) for me, high sodium too
    2/06 - 190.7 - over calories (+78)
    2/07 - 191.1 - over calories (+156).

Week 1 - this is where the mind tricks start to play in my head. If I compare the difference between the calories that I had been eating prior to re-starting MFP to the calories I tracked this week, then I should have lost at half of a pound - not gain almost three. But I need to take a moment to not let that first emotional thought take over. I have to take other factors into consideration, such as sodium, carb processing, and errors in tracking into account. I also know that 190ish is has been the set-point for my body for many months now, so I need to remember the advice from my endocrinologist to stay on track and results will come.

Weight in blue makes me blue because it’s a gain. Weight in fuchsia pink makes me feel cheery because it’s a loss. Weight in black means no change.

02/07-196.6-(Trend Weight 196.6)- I was way off the rails yesterday making horrible choices during travel that followed me home and continued to entice me. Today will be better. A long hair appointment will keep me locked in a chair with black coffee for most of the afternoon. That will help. I will have the other half of my spaghetti squash for dinner tonight. Gotta get back on it. I’m exhausted today. Not enough sleep last night.
