My name is Donna. I am 62 years old, 5' 5" tall. I live in the Midwest of USA. I am in remission for breast cancer, have Type 2 Diabetes, an under active thyroid, high blood pressure and cholesterol, some osteoporosis and coronary heart disease with a stent in my heart. I am working to get healthier. I know losing weight and exercising more will help all of these issues.

01/29-195.6-(Trend Weight: 197.5)- I was a little back and forth all week but finally had a whoosh this morning more reflective of all my efforts. No, I haven’t been picture perfect, but overall, I’ve been kicking some *kitten*! I’m really working on pre-planning my food, making better choices during my many travels and getting in 30 minutes or more of exercise daily NO MATTER WHAT, NO EXCUSES!!!! It’s paying off.
01/31-194.8-(Trend Weight: 197.0)- I made my 5 pound goal this month. That was the first time in a very very long time. I am proud of my progress and my resolve at this time. I hope the momentum keeps up. We all know how easy it is to start sliding backwards on this slippery slope! Good job to everyone who showed up this month. Onward to the next part of the challenge, February, the shortest month and amount of time to get things done. Let’s do this!

I am still doing well from my challenge start weight so I will focus on that. We don’t want to get too upset and fall into emotional eating! My goal this month (5 lb loss) would put me into a new decade—the 180’s. It’s like a dream……. Can I really do THAT?

I have been losing motivation and have seen significant decline in health. Gained weight, Cholesterol and Blood pressure, lethargy creeping up. Hoping to keep my goals simple and achieve the goal with slow and steady progress.
Goals - Move 10K+ steps everyday, IF 16:8, planned eating - all meals should be planned atleast one day ahead of day and eat planned meals only.
At end of March, I expect to see better number for Blood pressure.
Reflections -
Jan - Ate home cooked meals, portion controlled, IF and 15K+ steps almost all days except one worked well. Pre-planned meals allowed to eat out and still control daily calorie consumption. Stamina has increased, felt tired first 1.5 week but this activity is easily manageable now. Introduce Zumba/strength training atleast 2 days a week in Feb & decrease steps in those days.

02/12-193.6-(Trend Weight: 195.5)- It’s been a very good week of following plan for me. Not perfect for sure, but so much better. I have also worked on improving water intake and using my exercise machines I have at home (exercise bike and treadmill). I did have one or two mini-binges so I am trying to find replacements for my cravings that will be enough. It’s certainly a process! My mini goal was to lose 10 pounds between Dec 10th and April 9th (Easter). Even an older person like me with lots of excuses (though most are valid) should be able to do that! So far, so good. My weight was 198.4 on Dec. 10th. I’m giving it everything I’ve got!
