@SheilaBoneham Thanks for your reply. I'm so energized and in the zone right now that I feel like I can't miss the opportunity to share with people if I think it can help. Being able to share and get tips in this thread is sparing everyone in my social life from having to hear about my weight and fitness goals and habits. Please take it as a compliment that I was way off with your assumed age :) That's awful that following professionals' advice did so much harm to your body. Learning that they did that to you and from what I've been reading in this thread from others' dietician advice, I'm going to be a much stronger self-advocate when the professionals give instructions that contradict my instincts and knowledge about myself.

@shmmm3 and @Sheilaboneham Yes Yes Yes. The professionals are not always right! The dietician's can be WAY OFF. It is definitely not a one-size-fits all !!! There is age, hormones (which they have not even tested), family history, inflammation levels (which they have not tested) and so much more that influence their advice. We must listen to our own bodies just as Sheila has said. Their advice can work for some but not for all.......

@Skyleen75 Best advice, find a yoga instructor you like (they are NOT all the same). I LOVE mine- she starts every class with- “what would anyone like to work on?”

That sounds like it would be nice. The last 3 instructors I had were the opposite of relaxing and it seemed like a chore for them to be teaching (gym included classes). Since the beginning of Covid I've been solo at home with all exercise. I'd like to go to a yoga studio if I can get up the courage. That's a goal to work towards.

Lol! You need new friends. "Bad Decision Maker" sounds ominous. I have seen "tomorrow is another day" and "I got your back" lurking around. I will send them your way!
Lazy dressing is 1 tbsp mayo, 1 tsp brown sugar and 1 oz of lemon juice. Mix it in the bowl and add my 2.5 cups of bagged coleslaw and voila! 3-4 oz of Protein of your choice. I am not a fan of bottled dressings. Artificial sweeteners are not on my plan. (They sneak in as I am still finding sucrolose as I re read labels). TADA...lazy dressing

A tsp of brown sugar seems a lot, do you need it? Could you halve it or even omit it?

Hi @musicsax. Yes, my husband is doing well. A couple of months ago he got more serious about losing weight, so he's been more focused on eating healthy which has been more helpful for me. He's also more focused on increasing his daily steps such that our dog has been going out on a lot more daily walks, which the dog absolutely loves.

That's good to hear, tell him I miss his posts, used to enjoy reading them .

Newbie Female who turns 43 this Friday the 10th of March. Had a surprise Covid baby at 41 years old and gained 75lb! After being told by several doctors I would never carry a baby to full term. On top of that weight gain, I had already broken my lower back…so baby really made it hard for me to even walk. After getting every single cold from baby and then shingles in my eye over Christmas, I am ready to be healthy again. I plan an initial GW of 152 by June 1. I know that’s a lot—but it’s doable!
