Morning all, it sounds like re need a refresh in our minds and bodies. Are you all with me? I have to get this right, I have to keep trying, I have to live longer than my parents...how do you break the cycle? One bite at a time. What can you do today than it was yesterday? I can't make it too challenging or I won't do it with all that I keep on my plate. So what do i want most? More protein and veggies and less carbs. So I will TRACK today and make tomorrow 1 carb or more lower. What about you. I will post in here to keep me accountable. I want someone to say are you working or just wishing... I think it's a goal I can do...now if you guys have more insight to help me let me know.

Yes refresh is needed. I need to post more. I have been tracking daily and weighing in once a week at least. I do need to add exercise and not having store bought ice cream pretty much every night. I recently bought an ice cream maker just have to figure out how to use it so I have more control of the ice cream.

Morning all,
Have the first week down of my new job and love it so far! It’s so much less stressful environment than my previous and the tasks are coming easy to me. New office crew are nice. Fit right in. I’m trying to make sure I eat breakfast before going in, instead of trying to eat it at Morning break or skipping it altogether. Hours are slightly different so I’m getting home earlier which means that I can get a walk in before it gets too dark.
Class is over halfway over. Been getting A’s so far. Working on a 6 page paper due tomorrow. How is everyone else doing?

@trooworld Was 100% of your day a failure? Is there any moment at all that you made a good choice? I noticed you got in 50% water. Better than 40, 30, 20, etc. What is your overall goal for water? Did you get any of that snow I kept seeing in CA? although now I see it's raining alot.
@Tamevv Go read my post to @trooworld above. I'm learning that we can always find something good if we look hard enough for it. Sounds like alot of us are struggling right now. I think they call that the messy middle.
@cbabie Sounds like a good plan you have there. Shoot for 1 less carb or whatever. 1 more minute exercise than you did yesterday. Or one more rep. It's all in the little daily decisions we do.
@gemwolf110 Homemade ice cream sounds like a lot of work to me. lol But it does control your ingredients. Ok, a goal of posting more on here sounds good. I need to do that too. My routine has been all messed up and when it's gone nothing gets done that I want to do. Wow, your new job sounds wonderful. It sounds like it's easier to fit in a healthy lifestyle.
I had to go back and see when I last posted. I'm still not 100% but this might last a while so I need to quit just sitting around and do something. My cough is much better. A slight sore throat came back and if it doesn't go away, a trip to the doc will be needed. I think I've spent the past 6 weeks doing nothing. Food hasn't really been too bad. I've lost 1.6 lbs since mid February. So now to turn the heat up.1 -
@trooworld Sorry about the headache. I'm tired of feeling blasé. I need energy.
I took an 18 min walk today. I made some eggplant parmesan for lunch. Hubby didn't care for it but I loved it. I sliced the eggplant lengthwise into thin strips like lasagna noodles and just layered them with some feta cheese, diced tomatoes blended a bit with spices, brushed with some beaten egg and mozzarella. Lots of healthy foods today.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for the encouragements, I’m doing okay. Went and hid in the bush yesterday with my dog and middle child who continues to be my emotional challenge. It was really nice to cook lunch over the fire, take a walk and read books together. I’ve been doing exercise and trying to curb my snacks. Water is low.
@gemwolf110 Home made ice cream is the best - I’m jealous - my machine died years ago and I’ve never replaced it. I have a recipe for amazing home made that does not need churning but does not ice up, but it is sooo unhealthy and sooooo addictive I cant allow myself to make it. You can do all sorts of reasonably healthy treats with a churn though. Have fun with it!1 -
@tamevv I'm glad you took yourself out to the bush. Sounds very relaxing. I think we all have that one child. lol Yaaay on your exercise.
@trooworld Sorry you aren't feeling 100%. I'm a bit better today. Sore throat seems completely gone now. I'm just trying to add in more and more.
I have been doing some workouts with Apple Fitness+ and couldn't seem to get my heart rate up where I wanted it. I finally found a trainer I like today. Plus took a 15 min walk in the mall with hubby. So I got in 45 min. Busy day so far. Also got in a haircut. Need to work on the food a bit more. it will be nice when I can get all three areas to be a success at once. I wonder if that will ever happen? I was listening to a podcast yesterday and it was talking about shooting for a 1 lb a month weight loss goal. She said think about how long you have been trying to lose the weight you want before saying this is too slow. It's true for me. If I would have lost 12 lbs a year, I would have already been at goal. There wouldn't have been any back and forth stuff.0 -
Well I am not sure when I wrote this...LOL. It was never sent. However, I still feel this way.
Morning all, I am running a little behind...right now my 4 year old is playing operation...oh the days of simplicity...I believe we can all help each other...our struggle is not usually something I alone deal with. It may be at that time, but I know I am not unique. So......what is your struggle this week, what baby step are you taking to overcome that struggle. I just plain struggle...so this week my goal is to track everything no matter what to see what kind of marcos I am eating. Then I can see what "baby" steps I can take to turn this ship in the right direction...You know I only have so many years to do this and I might as well go out with a bang.

Morning again...I went and read all the post and here is what I gathered by all of our comments. We are all still working on us, we all know what we need to do, seems most of us are feeling yucky and we need to get "us" back. So I will put the challenge out there to each of you that I posted about just now, that should have went out before. LOL. I know I didn't get time to get on here yesterday...those darn routines that get messed up have got to have a brain reset done on them.
So each of you, can you put (1) little thing you can work towards this week to get you closer to your health goal. It's not about weight, it's about health.
I got a drawer in my kitchen cleaned out yesterday and felt so good and today I found something in my closet I knew was there, but hadn't went though to find it..those two things gave me more energy to do more...so my goal is to track EVERY DAY this week to find my base of what I am eating. Because truth be known...I will give in to emotions most of the time and shouldn't..last night was a 4 brownie emotional killer.
My Goal Track each day and report I tracked all bites...and try to eat 1 or more less carbs each day. Next week I can work on walking a little more...this week I can't.
Cbabie0 -
Hi all...I read all the posts, usually when walking on treadmill in am, but can't write on Ipad & walk at the same time, so I never get around to posting. At least I have been pretty consistent with the walking.
We got 8" of snow on Sat, but it has shrunk to maybe 3" now. Dd & fam are on spring break trip, so we are grandpuppy sitting. She is so cute, but so spoiled..mostly by us, lol. When they get back, we will be heading to OK for gd's birthday.
Dh was sick last week with sore throat for 2-3 days, tested 3 days, and always negative, but I wonder...
Now yesterday & today, I feel crummy, not really a sore throat, more dry, but just achy. Did a test this am, it was negative, so hopefully just a cold. I would have been fine if he wouldn't have felt the need to share, lol.
I like the idea of one small thing, and also losing 1# a month. I was listening to a seminar & the Dr said the body is only capable of losing 1 ounce of fat per day, so it would take at least 2 weeks to lose one pound of fat. (anything more is water, muscle, bowel contents, etc.) In my foggy state today, I was thinking 1/3oz, but that didn't compute right, lol. So my one thing is that I have gone back to my plan from last fall, where I figured out my net calories for the weight I want to be & am going to stick with that. It didn't work then, but with the holidays, I didn't really give it a fair test. Actually, I figured for the next 5# down goal, & set it for that. When I get there, I will go with the next 5# down goal. I usually eat my exercise calories, but am not planning to this time, 1600 calories should be plenty! Oh, guess I have 2 small things, I am trying to get at least 30 different fruits & vegetables per week. I am at 16 for 2 days so far.
Hope all of us can commit to becoming healthier & the weight loss should come with it. Have a great week!!0 -
Hello all. I came home at about 9:30 yesterday morning. I rested up, and my head is better but I can feel like the migraine may come back. Not much else to report.
Water yesterday: 25 oz
My phrase for the year: "Every choice is another chance to change my health for the better."
Hope your migraine is gone. Migraines stink.0 -
Morning I am checking in. I tracked the last two days and agree about the 1 lb a month goal too.
Cbabie0 -
Morning all. I’m frustrated with myself - had a good morning, didn’t snack before work and tracked breakfast, but didn’t have a firm plan for lunch so work did a cook-up and offered me food which was nice but it was unexpected and wishing now I’d said no. Didn’t finish it but ate more than I should have. I’m trying to be extra good during the days so my afternoons aren’t so disastrous. Also trying to stick to at least healthier options when I do snack. Exercise is becoming more consistent and I’m working more strength in so that’s a win.
Hope you’re all having a decent day.

@cbabie I've had those days. I think I'd like to go out with a whimper. Be asleep and boom. Dead. I've always said that and then mom would quote that verse about O Death where is thy sting.
I'm struggling with consistency in posting here. I'm getting better with exercise. Food hasn't been bad overall.
@retiredandlovingit Good for you for consistency on walking. I need to get back to that. I just got over a sore throat and cough. Ds had upper respiratory symptoms and shared them with dh. Who shared his cough with me plus I got the sore throat. Twice. They didn't get that symptom. I just want my energy back. I was doing something today and thought I just need to sit down. Now I really would have been better standing but let me sit her for a moment. Yaaay on your 16 f&v
@gemwolf110 List us your wins this week.
@tamevv I'm going to take out all your buts in your post. Look how much winning you did.- Didn't snack before work
- Tracked breakfast
- Didn't eat all the food offered to me
- sticking with healthier snacks
- Exercise is becoming more consistent
- Working more strength in
@trooworld I'm glad your migraine is gone. What's one small step you can do towards your goal?
Since most of us agree with the 1 lb idea. Let's do it. For March let's shoot for 1/2-1 lb since the month is already half over. Look at where you are now and let that be where you start. Then we'll see at the beginning of the month where we are.
Also let's get some accountability going. What one thing do you want to work on this week? Only thing that helps turn around inaction and the blahs is action.
Mine will be posting. I need to get better at that.0 -
Hi all, my one thing is to feel better. Well, did another test on Wed & it was a definite positive for Covid. Not sure I can blame dh since his were all neg, tho. Anyway, not doing much & not really feeling like eating so I have already lost my pound. (Of course it will be back soon enough. Lol)
I’ll be back when I feel better.0 -
Hi..I love this news feed.. I was ww and not happy with the changes..so I left.. I'm in day 5 and I love it here..❤️0
-
@retiredandlovingit I'm sorry about the covid investigation. Now I wonder how many of our "flu" problems is really that. Just another strain. I don't really care as long as no long term effects and I get over it quickly.
@trooworld So start with half a step. If you don't take a step, you won't go anywhere. Start where you are on the 1 lb . Lots of it is probably sodium bloat anyway. Yaaay on the water. See, you did take a step. Sketch party sounds fun.
@1200Vmaxqueen Welcome to the group! At one time all of us followed some sort of WW program. Currently I'm counting calories and doing a wholefood type program. If I just count calories, I eat 80% processed junkfood. I was successful with a modified carb cycling program in 2019. But then that had me eating alot of meat and dairy. Not alot of vitamins and minerals in those.
I'm feeling better. I took a 30 min walk today and then did a 30 min Apple Fitness video

@trooworld I'm not much of a spontaneous person with schedules. I like things planned. Maybe you can have a little lasagna and some salad. Funny thing happened last night, my son said he was going to order some food and said what are you in the mood for? I was like, Surprise me. He brought me a salad.
Actually, I was not in the mood for a salad. Especially because it was mostly iceberg lettuce with a couple of shredded pieces of carrot and a few slices of cucumber. I kept saying to myself, think how many calories I'm saving. The scale was down this morning, so that was good. lol Silver lining. Note to self: Don't say the words, surprise me.
Hi to everyone else
Exercise rest day0 -
Morning all, I have been MIA and I have been I think close to death....not really, but it sure has felt that way. I was tracking but Friday night I got hit with whatever the babies had and I felt like I was run over by a car and then Saturday..I felt like the car was sitting on me...I couldn't move, but did, you know crying baby makes you do things supernaturally.. LOL. I feel on the other side of it today. I am still really sore, feel like a monster is on my insides kicking me and every muscle is so sore. But I am determined to get my routine back. The good news is I lost weight due to not being able to get off the couch except to take care of kids...So my one thing goal is still to track every day..and lower my carbs in the process. (1 at a time) I have to go take care of a tired baby...I will try to post replies to everyone if I can get back on here.
Cbabie0 -
@trooworld Are you still doing Tonal? Yes I'm glad my son is noticing me eating salads.
@cbabie I'm glad you are better. You wanted to lose some weight, right?Just keep working on your one thing.
I had a Southwest salad for lunch. No exercise yet.0 -
Hi all.. I am doing better, even walked outside for awhile yesterday because it was so nice. Can be out in public, but need to mask through tomorrow. We are leaving for Ok on Thurs, so I am glad I should be un-contagious. Been taking it really easy for a week, because I want to be over it!! I have lost about 3# which I am figuring will rebound soon, lol.
@cbabie Sorry you have not been feeling good. Hope it is getting better.
@trooworld Have fun with the new puppy. It is good that Daisy is Ok with her being there. We sent the grandpuppy home Fri. It is nice to have more room in the bed, lol.
@theslightedgeforever How is the whole food type program going? I hope you are feeling better, too.
Covid brain fog is real...the other night I couldn't figure out where the volumn button was on the tv remote. After staring for about a minute trying to find it, I realized I was holding the home phone.
Hope that gets better...don't need more confusion at my age, lol.
I am going to try to post more! I do appreciate the support & "friendships" here.0 -
@trooworld So can you add in one day this week for a date with your Tonal? I see you increased your water. Good for you.
@retiredandlovingit Sorry I had to laugh about the remote/phone story. I do that and I don't think it's the covid, although it just may be and I don't know it. lol Keep making good food choices and keep up the walking and maybe you won't have a rebound. There are days when I do well on my color coded foods and then like yesterday, I got 0%. It was a busy grab and go day. Shouldn't be to hard to grab a fruit.
Today has been a better day with my green foods. I found a couple of good salad recipes on Instagram today. So I'll add the ingredients to my shopping list for next week.

Morning all, I am here. Well I made myself take a covid test and yep it was positive, I think I have had it for a bit. Looking back I was beginning to think I was just getting old, but now it seems it was just the great corona virus....LOL. My first clue was the nausea that kept hitting me...funny it wasn't that I felt like I had been hit by a car and then the car was just sitting on. me....
@trooworld So glad you are enjoying the 2 pugs...you will get back to your routine, just keep focusing om 1 thing.
@RetiredAndLovingIt it's just the brain fog...we have all been there. LOL. sounds like you and I must have been around the same virus. LOL
@theslightedgeforever all you can do is keep trying. I had to laugh about the color coding...I think we color code because we grew up with it..(organize any way you can). LOL
Cbabie0 -
Hi, quick note before I start packing to go to OK. Doing well, just some postnasal drainage now. That could also be allergies tho, too. I'm sure there is a lot of mold in the air now that the snow has melted.
@cbabie Oh no... hope you get over it soon. I don't think I had much fatigue or nausea, mostly cold symptoms & my eye would not quit watering! Of course, I don't have all the little ones to look after like you do, it's just me & dh & he can take care of himself, lol.
@trooworld Oh, she is just a baby then. Have fun walking her. If it would have been nice weather when we had Bella (grandpuppy), I would have walked her some. But the cold & being sick didn't help. Does your dh use the Tonal much?
@theslightedgeforever I tried looking up the color coding for Noom. Might try it when we get back home. That's OK if you laughed at my comment...that's partly why I added it. We all need some humor, lol.
Well, gotta get busy!0 -
Hi everyone,
Have just caught up on posts and I’m so glad to be part of this group 😊
I’ve been doing okay, exercise has picked up and I’ve been working pretty hard with just the odd day missed, but it’s been an effort so I’m pleased with myself. Almost didn’t today but here I am stepping as I type. Going slower than usual but it’s something. This was a conscious “for my future self” decision 😊. Food is still not great though - I have plans and strategies, just not follow through apparently.
@trooworld I’m excited for you and the new pup - not many things give you warm-and-fuzzies more than a puppy.
@retiredandlovingit I read your post and my brain interpreted “postNATAL” and took a minute to make sense of it. Wondered for a second how long I’d been away - apparently that brain fog is doing the rounds 🤪
Sorry that’s all I have time for - hi to everyone else tho 👋👋👋0 -
@trooworld That's good you are getting in some extra exercise with Violet.
@cbabie Sorry about the covid. Just think you could have like you had been hit by a bus.You know I can always find the silver lining.
@retiredandlovingit I got my Noom color foods list from Pinterest. I've saved it to my notes on my phone for easy reference.
@Tamevv I wonder why we make plans and then don't execute the plans. Even though we know just do it. So many times we don't. Or we procrastinate. When I'm determined to do it, then it seems easier. That's great that you are getting in your exercise now. I'm struggling with that. my body just seems so tired after this last bout of sickness. If I didn't have a heart problem I would be slurping down energy drinks just to exercise.0 -
@trooworld Yes…please take care of yourself! & I hope you are better!
@Tamevv Oh no…definitely not postnatal at my age!! (73)
That’s all I have for now…bedtime!0 -
Morning all, well I am feeling better actually got a shower...that in itself is a struggle around here at times. I am such a morning person and I live with people who SLEEP..lOL. I am going to take another covid test to see if I am still positive. I hope not. We were supposed to celebrate my oldest birthday last weekend, had to cancel and we might if everyone is not cleared of covid still have to cancel again. The good news is that I won't have cake to eat..LOL. We will see...
@trooworld I hope you are feeling better...you scared me...my dad suffered with a stroke and I don't want you to have that..that is why we are here...to get healthy not skinny!!! It could be a virus, there is so much nasty stuff going around right now.
@tamevv glad you are back and you know that's the first step, moving your body is next..."check" you did that, see you doing it!!
@theslightedgeforever no energy drinks...my grandkids live off of them and unfortunately some of my adult children do too..LOL
@RetiredAndLovingIt Enjoy your trip, we will see you when you get back!!
Cbabie0 -
@trooworld I'm glad you are feeling better. You had me worried a bit. But sometimes remember the world can wait. We women usually put ourselves last and think oh it's not really that serious but sometimes it is. Yaaay on getting ready to track.
@retiredandlovingit How is your food program? Postnatal made me laugh. Although I was saying to my hubby today if we had another child what would you name it. He just looked at me.
@cbabie Did you take another test? Birthday cake doesn't have calories. You know me. I wouldn't try to tiptoe around and be quiet. They can use earplugs. On the other hand, look at all that quiet time to yourself. Silver lining.
Food has been okay today. Hubby and I took a 35 min walk.
Almost 25% of this year is already done. Have you reached 25% of the goal you set at the beginning of the year? How are you doing on 1 lb for this month?0 -
@trooworld The month isn't over yet. Still time to lose 1 lb. Remember we didn't start at the beginning of the month. March 14. You've still got 2 more weeks to lose a lb. You can do it. It sounds like you are finding your focus.
