@TeresaW1020 I'm not sure yet, I don't "dislike" her, but I'm not attached to her yet. Unfortunately, that's the only weekend meeting (on Saturdays with her), so I'm stuck with her even if I don't like her lol. I did have a great weekend! I'm glad the luncheon went well. That's good the FB group will help you focus on your goals. I'm sure they will love you, even if you don't do their little containers! ;)

@theslightedgeforever Yes, I was very active. Thanks! Yes, there are a few good things to come out of COVID. I color coordinate my masks with my outfit as well lol. I understand not being there yet. I'm slowly getting there.

Hi all. I had a really nice day yesterday. I was surprised to find that it was raining out but we still went to the farmers market (me and a good friend) and walked around. I got a couple of loaves of artisan bread (I only meant to get one but she thought I wanted 2 so she charged me for 2, so I just took it) and artisan 18 yr old balsamic vinegar. After the farmers market, my friend and I went to one of my favorite breakfast restaurants. There was a 30-minute wait in the rain so we were glad when our name was called. I didn't make a healthy choice as I should have but my breakfast was good. I didn't eat lunch. I went to the art supply store in the afternoon and got some art supplies and then did a litte art making. Dinner was on plan: shortcut moussaka. It was a really good day. Picture: rainy farmers market.

@theslightedgeforever I do like the containers for measuring and portion control. I just don't want to base my entire diet on them. ;)

@trooworld Sorry that you got stuck talking to yourself. I'm here now!

Good morning! So, we got the second shot yesterday. This morning I have a very sore arm, a slight headache, and I'm feeling a little fatigued. Mom and DH are about the same. We plan to lay low today and rest. I also got my hair done yesterday and instead of staying red we switched it up and my hair is now brown! :o I love it and happy that I did it.

@TeresaW1020 lol...no worries! I'm glad you didn't experience more severe side effects. I bet brown hair looks good on you, my hair is sort of brown/dark wine color.

Hi all. @theslightedgeforever, I got 100% yesterday. Not much going on. I had a good eating day yesterday and didn't get into any snacks or anything I didn't want to eat.

Afternoon all, Sorry I have been MIA...Just some health issues that came up and I was did not have access to my computer. I lost 1.7 lbs this week on WI day. I plan to be more cognitive what is going on with my body. I bought a sense Fitbit. Today is the first day of wearing it. I will see if it was worth the money. My Blaze was on its last leg, but I wanted to wait until it was dead.LOL

@trooworld love the pictures, thanks for sharing. So glad you can walk to the market. How fun.

@TeresaW1020 I bet you look different as a brunette, but still stunning! I am so glad your event turned out well!!

@theslightedgeforever you guys are all making me want fajitas...Maybe I will make that tomorrow!

@cbabie I'm sorry about the health issues, I hope you are okay now. Congrats on the loss! WTG! And congrats on the Sense. I bought one several months ago and really like it. ;)

Hello all. I'm not feeling so well, I'm not sure if I will take the day off or not. I clocked out of work yesterday at 11 because I didn't feel well. Slept most of the rest of the day. I did decide to get out and get some fresh air at 4:30, I put a WW meeting on Zoom and went for a walk while attending the meeting. It was nice but it didn't help me feeling sick. I weighed in this morning (I weigh daily) and it was a really low number, the lowest for a long, long time. I hope it's this low tomorrow!

@cbabie I had been missing you! I hope you will feel better soon! <3 Hopefully the new Fitbit will be worth the money and you get a lot of good use out of it.

@Trooworld I hope you start to feel better soon! That is awesome that the scale shows low number for you. I know how motivating that is!

Hi everyone! Today I did my first PSMF (protein sparing modified fast). I’m going to do 2 or 3 days a week where I will do my best to hit the calories and macros that I got from this calculator on a Keto website. It has my calories 802 with 40 grams of fat, 10 grams of carbs, and 100 grams of protein. It’s supposed to help me drop weight and still preserve my muscle. I figure it doesn’t hurt to give it a try for the rest of this month. The rest of the days I will stay strict Keto except for tomorrow where we are taking mom out for an early Mother’s Day steak dinner and I’m totally getting a sweet potato. Oh and DH's b-day is on the 19th and we might go out for that.

@trooworld Woohoo on your low number. The farmers market looks good. What is shortcut moussakka. I love regular kind. I like my hair when it's eggplant color but the gray comes in too quick. Corona made it look too bad. Yaaay on your 100%. I got 75%. Sounds like you had a really good day.

@teresaw1020 Never heard of that PSMF. I'd have a hard time getting 100 gms of protein. But I guess that's why there are different plans out there as we are all different. Show us a new pic of the brown hair. I'm trying to go lighter so the gray won't show as bad. I'm glad second shot didn't make you too sick.

@cbabie Yaaay on your weight loss. Let me know about the sense. My Blaze is having a hard time staying charged. What's the difference between Sense and Blaze?

@TeresaW1020 I'm feeling a bit better today, thanks. It IS motivating to see that scale dip lower and lower! ;) I hope the PSMF helps you. That sounds like a nice plan for Mother's Day.

@theslightedgeforever The farmers market was...lots of good produce and products and food stands. Shortcut Moussaka is supposed to be less fussy, you just cube the eggplant and roast it and mash the potatoes and layer it with the meat and spices: https://recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-detail.asp?recipe=1855424 Yeah the gray comes back fairly quickly on me (I have to go every 8 weeks) but I use this brown colored powder on my roots in between and it disguises them sort of. I got 125% yesterday. I've had two good days in a row! :D

Hi all. Yesterday, I decided to ride the spin bike and attend a WW virtual meeting. I think this is going to be a regular thing for me, to either ride the bike or walk while attending a meeting. I weighed in officially this morning and I lost...........5 lbs! I can't believe it, I'm over the moon! Switching to the blue plan helped some but it was also my efforts to not eat snacks besides fruit, exercise some, and just be mindful of my eating in general. I'm only 15.6 lbs away from Onederland!

Afternoon all, I tracked my food yesterday. Still didn't do any exercise. I am trying to watch what I eat and how my body reacts..LOL.

@trooworld Yea on the loss. Change is good, now you and DH are doing the same thing. It has to be easier. LOL

@TeresaW1020 That's a LOT of protein. I guess if I had 4 protein shakes.LOL. I am still learning the fitbit...I may not use all the features..we will see.

@theslightedgeforever You have the versa 2, I think you will like the Versa 3...

Thanks for all the well wishes...

@theslightedgeforever Yeah, it takes some effort to eat that much protein and stay low calorie. I bought some Premier Protein drinks that have low in carbs and fat and 30 grams of protein so that helped. I’ll have to get a pic of my new hair color or honestly only one person has noticed so far. I think it’s because I had so much red and highlights underneath and the cut is the same. But I like it!

@trooworld Yum that Moussaka looks good! I could use mashed cauliflower and save on the carbs. Super excited for you and your awesome loss this week!! I think that is such a good idea to schedule the WW meeting around walking or riding your bike. That way you will get two great motivators at the same time. :)

@cbabie I only had one protein shake, a Greek yogurt, 75% light cheese, and a lot of chicken breast, so it wasn’t that hard. Harder was to keep my fat and carbs really low. ;)

Howdy! Today was a good day. I lost a pound this week, which was nice. If I stay focused, I will get into the 170s by next Friday and I haven’t seen a number that low since my late teens. Today, was a splurge because we took my mom out for a steak dinner for an early Mother’s Day treat. I did pretty well and instead of getting the sweet potato, I had a lite beer and the sauteed mushrooms. I had an 11 oz steak that had 85 grams of protein! I told DH that if I ate one of them every day, I would never have to worry about my protein. :D Tomorrow, I will do another PSMF day. DH and I are going over to the library. I want to see what Keto cookbooks they have. :)

Happy Friday y’all ! So I survived so far since my second shot two weeks ago. But man I’m out of shape. Mowed the front lawn and got palpitations. I definitely need to work out more and eat better. I just don’t get it I could do Zumba before shots now I mow the yard and palpitations. I have a doctors appointment next month going to bring it up. Part of me is regretting getting those shots but who knows maybe it’s just a coincidence. I did get palpitations before but rarely. Seems like I have them once a week now. I think it’s over due to get back on track. I was going to cancel my gym membership because I’m running in a million directions but think I need it to get back into shape. I’m definitely not in my 20’s anymore mid 30s now.

@TeresaW1020 yaaay on your pound. Sounds like you have a good plan for your protein

@gemwolf110 I have palpitations regularly but take meds for it. About 13 years now which means I started at 44. I’m more out of shape now than in early 2020 when I got sick. Some days I can climb my stairs and be ok and some days I’m breathing really hard at the top

@trooworld Thanks for the recipe. I think I would try Teresa’s suggestion about the cauliflower. Great idea about the WW bike combo. Woohoo on the 5 lbs.

@cbabie. I like how you know what kind of Fitbit I have better than me. 😆 I forgot I bought a new one. It shouldn’t be old then. I’ll have to check. So 15 min of movement. What will it be?

@cbabie Yay for tracking...I think that's the most important part of the puzzle. It IS easier now that we are doing the same program! :)

@TeresaW1020 It was sooooo good and that's a great idea to use mashed cauliflower, I wish I would have thought of it lol! Next time. Yes, very motivating to go to the WW meetings. Congrats on YOUR loss! That's super exciting for you to get into the 170s. I'm cheering for you!!!

@gemwolf110 Good to hear from you.

@theslightedgeforever I am definitely going to try that suggestion next time I make it.

Hi all. I'm going to go walking with my husband at the same lake I went last weekend and then I will go to a WW meeting. I am going to change my official weigh-in day to Saturdays so that I can weigh in at my meeting. I have to get an oil change today, too, and that's about it. I bought a prime rib on sale so I'm going to make that tonight with some "Melting Potatoes".

    Happy Saturday all-

Tracked my breakfast this morning, and started on making my grocery list. Adding more fruits and vegetables. Can’t buy ice cream and root beer. They are too tempting.

I talked with my coworker yesterday about gym and eating healthier. Was going to cancel it to cut costs and I can work out at home. But my freeze ends today and think I’m going to give it a month of trying to go 3x a week. If I don’t then I’m canceling it. Dogs need the exercise too anyways and I have weights at home. So I’m torn. I could be saving the 30 bucks a month.

Teresa congratulations on losing the pound!

    Have a great Saturday everyone!

@gemwolf110 Hopefully the doctor can give you some insight into what is causing the palpitations. That has to be scary! Walking the dogs and doing some weights at home are both great ways to get in exercise. Do you like doing videos? I know there are a ton on YouTube. I have Beachbody on Demand that costs $100 a year and is worth it to me.

@Troowold Thanks for being my cheerleader! You know that I’m yours too. <3 That is a good idea to change your weigh-in day to fit with your WW meetings. I almost got prime rib yesterday at the restaurant. I wouldn’t even know how to cook it myself. I Googled melting potatoes and I need to stop doing that kind of thing! Yum! :D

Hello everyone! Today, was another high protein day and it went well, except my chicken was too dry. No one wants to eat 8 oz. of dry chicken, but I forced myself for the greater good. :# I was happy that the scale was actually down this morning after eating a ton of steak and drinking a beer yesterday. Just goes to show that balance is everything. Tomorrow, I’m making a Keto cheesecake for Mother’s Day and I have every intention of enjoying that! Today, DH and I went to the library and I brought home 10 Keto cookbooks. I guess I’m in this thing for the long haul now. :D

@trooworld I got 50% What are melting potatoes? Woohoo on the walk. Way to be active.

@gemwolf110 That's great that you are adding more f&v. I found a vegetarian cookbook on my shelf that I don't think I've ever used. I'm going to take a look at that. The question to ask yourself is WILL YOU do the workouts at home. Some people do better at an outside gym because it forces them to go to the gym at a certain time. Where as at home you can keep saying, I'll do it later after this.

@teresaw1020 So note to self: Do not google melting potatoes. I was thinking lots of butter. Was that it? oh, we could do melting cauliflower? I can't eat dry chicken anymore. It gets stuck in my esophagus. Yaaay on the weight loss

@gemwolf110 Great job tracking breakfast! How'd you do the rest of the day on tracking? Adding more fruits and veggies is a good idea. I can't buy ice cream/treats either or I'll just eat them up.

@TeresaW1020 Absolutely you are, as are the rest of this crew! <3 Yeah, I follow an easy recipe for the prime rib. ;) Lord, no, don't google them lol! Oh gosh, that sucks your chicken was dry. Balance truly is everything. Congrats on the scale being down. I hope your cheesecake comes out well.

@theslightedgeforever They are also known as "Fondant potatoes". They are "buttery, crispy on the outside, creamy in the middle". There is fresh thyme and garlic in the dish. Usually, you sear disks of the potatoes in a skillet and then braise them to tenderness but my recipe is easier and is done completely in the oven. How are you doing? How's the knee?

Hi all. It was nice walking at the lake yesterday. We made it around twice before we had to go. The WW meeting went well. I received my 25 lb charm and I heard something that is a game-changer for me. When I said I was worried about gaining it back since I'd lost 25 lbs before, the leader said this: "Protect the progress." It's just 3 words but it says so much. I did not protect the progress last night, however: I didn't make the rib roast and potatoes...we ordered pizza instead. Although I had only 2 pieces, usually I have 3-4. I'm making the rib roast and potatoes when we get back from Mother's Day celebration. Mother's Day is tough for me: I am not a mother and don't have a mother. It brings back painful memories for me (I had a traumatic childhood) so I usually try to stay off social media for a few days before and after Mother's Day. It's not quite accurate to say I don't have a mother---I have my mother-in-law and we will celebrate over at my brother-in-law's apartment. But I think you know what I mean. My sister-in-law is getting quiche from a bakery and I'm making a salad and my husband is making his famous lemon bars. Happy Mother's Day to those that celebrate it. I truly hope you are surrounded by love today.

@gemwolf110 Thank you. It sounds like you are doing great!

Hello all. We had a nice celebration with my MIL. A couple of hours later, I started having this intense burning pain in my upper abdomen. Like a 7 or 8 out of 10 pain. I did a virtual doctor visit and she said to go to urgent care, it didn't sound like heartburn. So I took a Lyft there and it took 3 hours to find out...it was just heartburn! It didn't feel like heartburn, it really didn't. I was so uncomfortable and in pain, and it sure felt like something more serious. What a waste of time and money! LOL

@theslightedgeforever Yeah, I think trooworld enjoys showing us her food porn pics and I do admit that I enjoy looking at them. :D Melting cauliflower could totally work for us!

@trooworld Yayyy and congrats on getting your 25 lb. charm. I did like the charm aspect of WW. It was always so fun to get a new one. “Protect the process” is a great phrase and one that I am going to adopt as well. I really think that if we can also adopt a hard rule that we will not go off plan more than one day at a time. So, today you will get back on plan and do what you know works. As will I! ;) Yeah, I get your feelings about Mother’s Day. <3

Good morning! I had fun yesterday morning in children’s church. It was just me and 11 kids and two of the boys are on the autism spectrum, but it went perfectly fine. We made a Mother’s Day craft for their moms and they all had fun with that. It was good for me to hang out with them instead of focusing on my own sadness that I don’t have my daughter anymore. And since I have mom living with me, I made sure to get her a cute gift and I made Keto cheesecake, which she loves. Today, I’m doing a high protein day to get back on track from eating over my calories and macros yesterday. Now, I’m off to do a long workout since I don’t have anything on my schedule for today. Yayy!! :)

Morning all, I am going to try and make my walks again starting today. I have been so lax/busy, that got pushed by the wayside. I am trying to monitor myself since we don't know what caused me to have issues last week. LOL. I did my WI and I was SHOCKED, I lost 1.4lbs. I just need to keep this momentum lOL

@TeresaW1020 I agree I loved getting the charms. So glad you had fun yesterday with the kids. I used to love to make the crafts for mom..how fun. I am sorry Mother's day has a sadness for you. I love cheesecake. :)

@trooworld so sorry to hear about the heartburn. I know the feeling....I have had several test ran on me this past week and nothing...I hope you feel better soon!!!! Great job on the walk and the charm!

    @theslightedgeforever We are potato lovers!!!

@gemwolf110 Good for you for keeping your zumba going.

@trooworld The knee is better. Every once in a while one or the other knee seems to just give out but no pain. I have not been as good in my PT exercises as I once was so need to get back to them. I see her again in June. ooh I just might have to make those potatoes but will try cauliflower. I wonder what half/half would taste like. Congrats on your 25 lb charm. I like that phrase. Protect the progress. I hate wasting time and money in medical establishments. Although had it been something serious and you didn't go.........

@teresaw1020 Funny how you said, I had fun yesterday and then said 11 kids. I thought those two things don't go together in my brain. :D I'm glad you enjoy it. Someone is needed to do that. My Aunt Joyce used to teach 2-3 year olds in Sunday School and then I would help her out for VBS in the summers. That was fun. I don't think I have the patience now. I can't stand noise.

@cbabie That's good you are planning out your walks. Movement is for more than just weight loss. So many benefits to our health.

I forgot to mention Happy Mothers Day to all....as Trooworld pointed out there are all different kinds of mothers. I played cards and parcheesi with my dd via Zoom. She beat me both times. I said, it's mother day, you should have let me win. She said, You didn't on my birthday? >:) My other son called me. Hubby and son that live here are the kind that don't get excited with celebrations. :s They said, you know we love you. That's not the point....... lol

@TeresaW1020 Thank you! Yeah I love getting those charms. I think I will make a bracelet out of them. I'm already back on track! Yay! I knew you would understand about Mother's Day. Hugs to you. I'm glad you were able to focus on other things that day.

@cbabie That's a good idea to start walking again. Congrats on the loss!!! Thanks, yeah, I felt really stupid when she said they found nothing. I felt like a big baby lol.

@theslightedgeforever I'm glad your knee is better. What's your plan to do more of the PT exercises? That recipe may work out with cauliflower. I will post the entire recipe below and you can tweak it as needed. Thanks re: the charm. Yeah, that phrase is powerful. I hate wasting the time, energy, and money, too. Grrrh. I'm glad you had a good Mother's Day despite your hubby and son not getting excited about it.

Hi all. My scale is up almost 2 lbs so I need to be mindful of my eating the rest of the week. One thing I can't help is that we are scheduled to eat the prime rib roast and melting potatoes tonight. I can add some steamed veggies and focus more on those though. I think I will ride the bike and attend a meeting this morning.

My phrase for the year: CHANGE HAPPENS

    MELTING POTATOES - 6 SERVINGS

3 pounds Yukon Gold potatoes peeled
    6 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
    1 tablespoon minced fresh thyme
    1 teaspoon salt
    1⁄2 teaspoon pepper
    1 1⁄2 cups chicken broth
2 garlic cloves lightly crushed and peeled

Use potatoes at least 1½ inches in diameter. Do not use a glass baking dish, which could shatter.

Adjust oven rack to upper-middle position and heat oven to 500 degrees. Square off ends of potatoes and cut crosswise into 1-inch-thick disks. Toss potatoes with butter, thyme, salt, and pepper. Arrange potatoes in single layer in 13 by 9-inch baking pan.

Roast potatoes until bottoms are beginning to brown around edges, about 15 minutes. Remove pan from oven. Using flat metal spatula and tongs, loosen potatoes from bottom of pan and flip. Continue to roast until browned on second side, about 15 minutes longer.

Remove pan from oven, flip potatoes once more, and add broth and garlic. Roast until potatoes are tender and sauce has reduced slightly, about 15 minutes. Baste potatoes with sauce before serving.

@cbabie Congrats on your 1.4 lb loss. That is awesome!! :)

@theslightedgeforever I used to be really sensitive to noise too and the kids would drive me crazy, but I’ve gotten desensitized. I told DH that after church on Sunday how they were running around playing a very loud game of tag and I wasn’t even phased. I also have a little dog that loves to bark!

@trooworld that potato recipe really does look great. My DH and mom would LOVE them!! I buy those tiny potatoes in a container that you pop in the microwave and then add some butter and the seasoning packet to it. When I make them, I might have three or four and I find that is enough to give me a good taste without blowing my macros. So, enjoy your melting potatoes but concentrate more on the Prime Rib! :)

Good morning! DH and I slept until 8 am this morning! I guess we were both tired. I don’t have much going on today. I need to run to Walmart and then get some housework done and finish my latest jigsaw puzzle. Yesterday, I did a double workout and one of them was fairly high-intensity cardio and I was pleased that I could actually keep up for most of it. I sure have come a long way from when I first started working out. I’m 1.5 lbs away from reaching 85 lbs. loss and I want it by Friday. So, I’m tracking and watching my macros closely. *fingers crossed!* :)

Afternoon all, I did get on my Treadmill this morning. DH was watching me in case I had issues. LOL. My baby girl tried to walk in place like I was doing.. it was cute. I did 20 min, so I felt better about that. However, I have been grazing today. Not sure why, but it's a bite here, a nibble there..UGH.

@trooworld those potatoes sound YUMMY. You know I want to die sometimes with heartburn, it hurts and makes me miserable. You may have not thought it was that, but you know you were in pain..don't ever feel stupid, you are not a baby.. you didn't feel well and you know your body more than anyone. You know next time, it might be something else. You never not get help if you feel you need it. Promise me... See you already have plans on how to not keep the scale going the wrong way. You got this week!!

@TeresaW1020 I love when I wake up and it's not 5am...glad you got some rest. You have come a long way and I am glad I have been on this journey with you. You have been an inspiration to me.

@theslightedgeforever LOL I can hear your daughter now....you know she learned from the best. LOL
