Well...here we are again! This will only be a half round for me, we leave for Mexico on the 28th and return on the 3rd...I'll join in R219 when I get back. Just want to keep consistent for the next few days and maybe get one more lb off.
51yrs - Female - 5'5"
Goal Weight - to hang out somewhere 145-150
R217 EW 3/22 - 173.2
3/23 - 172.2 - another nice little drop after 2 weeks of plateau around 175. Got all my summer clothes out and organized for our trip...quite a few of my tops are too big...all the bottoms that I was squeezing into now fit again...amazing what 15lbs can do! Icky rainy weather again today, will get the dog out for a walk...and might do some repetitive bending/squatting in the backyard when the rain lets up to start the spring doody clean up now the snow is disappearing.
3/24 - 172.0 - good day yesterday! Sun is out today so we will try to hit the trails...not sure what kind of shape they will be in with the rain and warmish temps the last few days...might be a bit janky with frozen compacted snow but I will bring my boot spikes....and try not to fall 4 days before vacation (did that once years ago and had a hand sized bruise on my hip/butt...not cute in a bathing suit!!
3/25 - 172.8 - BLOATED...combination of TOM and sodium from dinner out last night. I went shopping in the trunk at the end of my bed yesterday....pulled out the small 12s and large 10s in jeans I had stashed away in there to replace the 14s that I'm constantly pulling up. There are some 8s and a few 6s in there I'm hoping I'll be able to get into again eventually. There's a layer of freezing rain on the windows...and it's crazy windy...we'll see if the dog convinces me to venture outdoors today.
3/26 - 173.2 - Still feeling bloaty, and ate late and more than I should have at hubby's season end dinner for one of the hills he patrols at. Lots of water today and a hike with the dog should help for tomorrow...only 2 days until we head to Mexico!!!!

Sun 3/26: 146.8 - It was a beautiful day yesterday and I made it 30 miles on my road bike, which included a lot of short sprints (my surgery foot held up pretty well!). I loosely tracked food yesterday. I was hungrier because of the workout. My Garmin says I burned a gazillion calories, but alas! I still gained weight and usually do after a long bike ride. I made mostly good food choices, except for the four delicious hush puppies that DH had ordered as an appetizer for dinner, and then a handful of roasted peanuts later after dinner.

3/23 - 179
The blasted wagon threw me right off last night. Emotional eating snack binge. But I’m climbing back on and am going to try to hang on for the rest of the round.
3/24 - 180
That’s Wed. evening on the scale. Yesterday was better, not perfect. Sometimes I really think that all the tracking and thinking about food and macros and calories all the time makes me more snack-prone because, yep, I’m thinking about food all the time—what I ate, what I should eat, what I will eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner, what I shouldn’t eat,… I know the research says tracking = weight loss, but I’ve been doing it faithfully for years now, lost a lot, then regained some despite tracking, am maintaining at higher than I like while tracking faithfully. It’s almost as if knowing my intake lets me give myself permission to eat because, hey, I’ll be over goal but still under maintenance, or just a smidge over…. I don’t know, just thinking through the keyboard.
3/25 - 💐
I’ve decided to slowly let go of some of the tracking to see if obsessing less about numbers and thinking less about food might help me eat less. I’ll continue to check in daily, but weigh in only at the end of each round. Letting go of the scale will be hard —I’ve tried before and was unsuccessful. So I’m dropping out of the 100-day challenge, removing my weight tracker, and removing my numbered weight goals. I’ll focus on other goals—walking, dog-training, writing, garden….—and see what happens. (I do sometimes think I should—a concept I would like to lose but what’s an alternate word? — drop all goals for a while, but after a lifetime of goals goals goals, I don’t know if that’s possible!) Anyway, I love this group, and appreciate the support for each of us doing what we need to do.
3/26 - 🌷
I accidentally weighed myself this morning—habits, right? — and it wasn’t pretty, but I’m not recording it. I did “oversnack” last night, but today is a new day. I’m planning to take the pup out for some energy reduction this morning, and then this afternoon take myself for a long walk all alone. Wishing you all a great Sunday!

03/22 …..188.2….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND
03/23 -188.4- (Trend weight 190.0)
03/24 -188.0- (Trend weight 189.8)
03/25 -187.2- (Trend weight 189.5) Snow storm today. 8 – 10” expected and it looks like the numbers are right on target. On the weight front: I’m so glad to see a drop and also a downward trend weight after the binge on the night of the 23rd. Back on track! In regards to health, I ended up calling my cardiologist (on the advice of the aforementioned “principal”) because of the drop again in my bp. They agreed for me to stay off the one bp med (Lisinopril) through the weekend. Doctor was not in for the day. They wanted me to record bp’s several times a day on Fri, Sat and Sun then stop in at the Heart Failure Clinic (love the name!) and let Cardiologist see them on Monday when I am back in the town where they are located (same town as my Rehab I go to on Mondays). They will then further advise. Possibly a different medication or stay off the one I stopped? I dunno. Of course, I am hoping that my weight loss (21 lbs down since my high weight last June) is affecting my medication doses for the positive. Is it possible that I’m not actually getting sicker but instead, getting HEALTHIER? It’s possible……. Wait until you hear about my glucose numbers these past few weeks. More on that tomorrow……
03/26 -187.8- (Trend weight 189.3) Go figure! It was another very good day food-wise. Got in a bit of exercise but otherwise not a lot of activity as I still continue to baby my blood pressure so maybe that explains the uptick? Anyway….I travel today to my DGS’s 4th birthday in another town. I usually don’t log when the food (and dessert) is out of my control or too complicated (even though logging is NEVER a bad idea). I do plan to enjoy the day. I’ve actually saved a few calories and carbs back over these past few days to help offset the damage at least a little. In regards to my glucose numbers (since last seeing the idiot dietician). My morning fasting numbers (usually the lowest of the day before food) was running 300-525. Those are EMERGENCY ROOM numbers for many but my body got very used to it and I actually didn’t even feel that bad. Since ignoring my dietician by counting my calories AND my carbs, incorporating some Intermittent fasting (against her advice) and doing what I know works FOR ME, my morning glucose readings are now 130-165. I think I could get them even lower if I tried because I have been eating sugar-free jello almost every night with sugar-free cool whip but they contain artificial sugars (which are not Natural sugar-free sugars) so they spike my glucose. I recently found on the Walmart website that they sell a keto friendly whipped topping that is made with monk fruit so I will start buying that when I’m out of town. I also found on Amazon that the vitamin company Swanson sells a sugar-free jello made with Erythitol (spelled wrong) and Stevia, both of which do not spike the glucose. It is double the price of Jello brand (it’s about @2.50 per small 4 serv box I think), but it will help my glucose numbers so I’m ordering a bunch. What I can’t yet give up is my nightly piece of Russell Stovers sugar-free dark chocolate candy which uses an artificial sweetener. I’m just not there yet. But progress is progress, right? I did learn to really enjoy the 90% dark cacao chocolate when I was on Keto. It was the Sam’s club brand but I haven’t been able to find it at Walmart lately so it’s just been me and Russell.

Round 218
3/23: 175.7 Row/Bike✔ Water✔ Calories Maintenance (1700). I just love the start of a new 10 days. I'm going to try my best to lose 2 pounds this round, but I will be happy with any loss. We shall see....
3/24: 174.9 Row/Bike✔ Water✔ Calories✔ I am happy to see a drop this morning. I optimistically crossed off the 175's from my first-goal tracking above. Right when things are starting to click is when I lose it many times. One thing that's helping, and hopefully will make this time different, is calorie cycling (average 1200 to 1500 calories) which I think fools my body from thinking I'm starving, but also allowing myself (AND tracking it) to eat at or a little below maintenance on those days where I feel a binge coming on. I'm slowly losing that all-or-nothing mentality of thinking every day has to be what I perceive as perfect or I failed. Patience, Patience, Patience - some of you who have made it to the promised land of your goal weight, and have maintained it, say this a lot. I appreciate you sharing your experiences so much. I think the more I stick to my plan and start seeing positive results more often, the more patience I will have. I just have to get to that point before giving up! I feel this is the time I will do it - now that I said that, I'm ready to prove it to myself!
3/25: DNW I wanted to enjoy the 174's and give it a day before I weighed again. Row/Bike✔ Water✔ Calories✔ NSV: I am seeing a noticeable change in my skin. I've had horrible eczema for 4 years, including on my face which is really hard to get rid of. My skin, everywhere, not just my face, is so much more clearer and softer. I've been drinking water religiously and have been off sugar and dairy for a while now. And I don't eat processed food. The main change of late is I've upped my exercise quite a bit, specifically rowing. I think it's all the above, but I guess my circulation/blood flow was pretty bad after not exercising for months after my surgery. The other NSV is I can't believe how much my stamina is increasing when it comes to my rowing. I'm just thrilled to see these results from replacing bad habits with good ones!
3/26: 174.7 Row/Bike✔ Water✔ Calories✔ Even thought I know it's normal to bounce around a little after a drop, I'm glad I chose not to see it yesterday. I think it kept me more motivated. Today, I not only didn't have to see the bump up, I'm now a little less than I was 2 days ago. Yay!

4/01 I'm going to try my best to lose 2 pounds this round, but I will be happy with any loss. We shall see....
Bingeing is why I'm where I am now. I want to see the results with 100 days of no bingeing. I'm not talking about going over calories from overeating a little, I'm talking full-out bingeing. And that's not just on bad foods, even when I'm eating well, I'll binge. This will be extremely challenging but if I stick to it (and stay off sugar and simple carbs to stop cravings), there is no way I'm not going to see consistent weight loss during these 100 days (not to mention the health benefits)! Part of this challenge, too, is if I do have a slip, that I don't revert back to old habits of bingeing for days/weeks/months. I will acknowledge the slip, celebrate that it didn't derail me, and just keep on keeping on.
I want to see what happens when I don't give up!

@deepwoodslady Remember to check ingredients if things say they are Keto friendly.” Taco Bell has a “keto approved” something that is in/on a flour tortilla. No grain is keto. That was one of the first things I eliminated. That “Keto Approved” is a trademark someone bought.🤷♀️🤦♀️3

3/25: 132.1 - No workouts yesterday and did not really track evening eating.
3/26: 133.4 - This round is really going off the rails. 6 days to turn this around.

What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
People say keto/LCHF isn’t sustainable. I’ve been doing it for over 5 years with amazing results!
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.

@GrandmaJackie Great, I'm so glad you find them helpful. Your post on 3/25 - that was me 20 days ago - I try to eat my emotions away. I always have. What has helped me for the last 20 days is no bingeing and no sugar. Not bingeing keeps me from being chaotic with the rest of my life. And sugar is just poison to me. I just can't function on it (hypoglycemic). Removing both of these (and balancing complex carbs and protein) has helped me stay steady and deal with stress so much better.5 -

We have so many things in common, it’s crazy! I forgot to take my meds today for binge eating, but so far, I feel like I have a handle on it. I was also sexually abused. My mother called me a liar. I haven’t spoken to her in 12 years now. Ugh. 💔 I work for a non-profit as a paralegal with a law firm providing free legal to low income residents in our state. I absolutely love my work!! 😊 but I wanted you to read what you put in bold up there ⬆️
“I am enough and so are you!”
Keep reading it and believe it!!! I have to remind myself that my goal of hitting 149 doesn’t have a time limit and I need to show myself some grace. Show yourself some grace as well! We’ve got this!!!

MAINTENANCE 114-118
Lessons for maintenance: 1) exercise at least 30 minutes five {5} days a week 2) try to walk no less than 10,000 steps a day 3) If/when my weight creeps up (118.1-119 LBS) increase the incline on the treadmill and add a burst of running to routine 4) eat a low-calorie salad before eating dinner 5) limit fried & breaded foods 6) continue to add ice cubes to my 5 oz glass of wine 7) eat fish for dinner at least 2 times a week 8) eight to nine hours of sleep a day 9) Of the 60oz of water daily-drink 8oz of water a half hour before each meal 10) three (3) meals a day and 1-2 small snacks, nothing after dinner.
