I need help with my weight loss goals!

I'm just looking everywhere for motivation and advice. I'm on my feet ten hours a day and boy do I NOT want to work out even on my days off. My diet is okay but not great.

I need friends, maybe some that are in kind of the same boat so we can encourage each other? Post our victories and our slip-ups, and give each other good energy for both?

Hello Chazsayswoof. I am in the same boat. I was in an online WW group several years ago and it was amazing how helpful it was at the time to share challenges and give each other support. The group eventually fell apart but that was okay. People were getting busy and most of us had accomplished our goals. In the past few years, I have gained 25 pounds and am not an "outdoorsy" person like many friends. I would rather read. (I am in 3 book clubs). I am trying to appreciate getting outside more or at least do some in-home workouts. I work as a school nurse which gives me some activity but not enough. I also want to get back into yoga more. Let me know if you and hopefully others can start the month of April out with a fresh start. It will be June before we know it. Yikes - shorts!

so, understand a very active 'on the feet' demanding job - and r&r in the off hours is important ~ perhaps a shift in approach for off hours & weekends to things that focus on improving strength, range of motion & flexibility - strength training of all sorts can also be restful and deeply relaxing - especially in forms that increase core strength and stability like tai chi, yoga, water resistance exercise - and other muscle strengthening with things like weights or isometric or body weight exercises that work and strengthen both small and large muscles in opposite motions - studies have shown things like walking on uneven ground such as cobblestones or stone paths can help to strengthen the small muscles in ankles and feet - leading to better balance, coordination and reduced risk of falls and ankle injuries - all these kinds of strengthenings can help the body cope with sustained demand activity of jobs - less fatigue and less injury... personally, i do better if I consider it fun, play and helpful - so things like targeted group classes work well for me - much funner to do these things with friends...

-- the real motivation there, is the conscious decisions we make to give our body an assist - whether it's food choices, movement, social support like here - and other things we do to lift our spirits and keep us going.... Hang in. You are so worth doing any of this... for you :)

Hi Chaz! I absolutely agree with you not wanting to work out after 10 hour shift. As you said your diet is okay. So this is the key! How many times do you eat a day? Fruits, vegetables also? Do you drink enough? How about snacks? I think you should watch yourself carefully and you are going to find the key too! 😊 ( I invited you).
