Hi everyone.
@trooworld Yay for tracking. I’ve just sat down and done my day too, although mine is retrospective. Have eaten really well and so far stayed away from the snacks even though the habit to wander to the pantry has niggled, but I’ve been conscious and moved away. Yay me.

Morning all.
@trooworld A new day! Let’s both track it 👍
I did stay good yesterday - cleaned my teeth so NO snacking after dinner and feeling proud of myself. Now just need to rinse and repeat. Did step and strength this morning and muscles are feeling tired but good. Thinking I’m about due for a massage - just need to find a window for it.
@theslightedgeforever I saw the stuff about a pound a month, but those never work for me - I just am happy if the scales are showing a downward trend - which they haven’t been, but this week will be different!!!! How is your month going numbers-wise?
Hi @cbabie 👋👋. Hope you’re feeling better and that today is a good day for you. Drink some water!! 😉0 -
@tamevv Good for you for staying away from the snacks. I really wanted something crunchy today but I have nothing in the house. Yaaay on your strength training. I was doing really well on my numbers this month until today's weigh in. Suddenly I've gained almost 5 lbs in the last 8 days. Hopefully just a blip in time.
@trooworld Celebrate the fact that you pre-tracked plus you also tracked again. Woohoo on your water.
Hubby and I took a 37 min walk today.

Morning all, seems like it's been awhile since I have been on here. I know it hasn't but it has. LOL. Not much to say..all still kind of the same.
@Tamevv Yea for staying on course..
@trooworld LOL I read you post and heard in my best laid plans of mice and men. LOL. I say at least you planned.
@theslightedgeforever great job on walking..
Cbabie0 -
@trooworld I don't think it gets easier either, but maybe. The struggle would be worth good health though. I think about that. Yaay on your tracking
@cbabie Glad to see you on here.
Another 37 min walk. Weird as we didn't go the same route. I'm having problems with my left knee. Yesterday it felt like it was out of joint and then once kind of buckled on me. Today a bit of slight pain when I walk. Maybe my body telling me to go stretch.0 -
Hi good morning everyone. It’s been a while. I had fallen off the wagon and gotten in a bad rut - mostly because I thought I should’ve been a lot further down on the scale. I spent a while being depressed about it then decided I needed to do something new. So that’s when I bought The Obesity Code book by Jason Fung. I never thought I would be able to do intermittent fasting but I’ve been doing it since Saturday and am down about 3 lbs. I’m also weighing in daily now.
I also fell off the wagon with the workouts - I was letting my son down too - but we are back on the wagon. The half marathon is about a month away now. I feel sure I won’t fall off again now - my optimism is back. The training has been very time-consuming though - after this I think it would be nice for us to do some 5Ks.
Anyway hope everybody is well and I hope to be around more often.0 -
Afternoon all, Not much to report again..I did track and walk outside yesterday. I am just still really tired. Feels like I will never get my energy back again. I cooked Salmon fillets in the air fryer last night. I hate Salmon, but the rest of my brood said it was good. I ate left over goulash. LOL
@senoritafloridita Glad to see you back. We all have fallen or JUMPED off that wagon at some time..LOL. I used to do the intermitten fasting, I did weigh less than I do now...but I am home all day and I am not sure I could do it again. So glad it's working for you.
@theslightedgeforever baby that knee...mine still buckles, no rhyme or reason...it just happens. maybe 37 is your number. LOL
@trooworld good job on tracking...I just can't eat too many salads anymore. It's awful how I ruined my body by getting into ruts in my food...
Cbabie0 -
Thanks @cbabie it’s good to be back. I have actually never gotten an air fryer yet. How does air frying compare with regular frying tastewise? And I hope you get your energy back soon. I have definitely been there too what with the half marathon training.0
-
@trooworld Good habits with your tracking and your water intake. Woohoo. I'm still walking so that's a good thing.
@senoritafloridita Good to hear from you. Sometimes we just fall into a black hole and then have to climb back out. I really wish it would stop happening to me though. Glad you are back on track and hopefully have success with IF. I have an air fryer and use it for everything. Taste wise I think about the same. I do spritz all my food with some olive oil though.
@cbabie Yaay on walking and tracking. I actually like salmon. The only fish I'll really eat unless it's Long John Silver.
But the awful thought of salmon patties comes up with that word. Blech! Now I don't like that. So far this week I have thought about two foods that mom loved but I think gross. Pickle loaf and breaded tomatoes. Wouldn't it be nice if 37 was my age.
Hubby and I walked 45 min0 -
AFternoon all, Nothing is changing here..I am boring as my little 4 year old says..
@trooworld I love breakfast burritos.. I have a recipe I am going to try to make and freeze. I will let you know when I make it if it's any good.
@theslightedgeforever Good walk
@senoritafloridita I really never ate deep fried foods, except Long John Silver..LOL. I was always a bake in the oven person..but my grandson likes it and he loves to eat healthy, but he loves his fried foods.. LOL
Cbabeo0 -
@theslightedgeforever yeah thanks glad to be out of the hole. I was trying to tell myself not to worry about weight loss for a while but I guess I wasn't happy that way either - I just wanted to keep moving forward. Air fryers are sounding pretty good then! I will probably be getting one soon.
@trooworld yeah IF can be hard, no doubt about it. That's why I always thought I could never do it. Wow, the Ninja sounds cool with all those features!
@cbabie Oh really? Well that's one less unhealthy category of foods you have to worry about, lol. I do love certain fried foods, especially fried chicken.
Well, I'm on day 6 of IF. 18:6 schedule, with fasts starting at 4 pm, so nights are hungry. I just remind myself that I'm not denying myself, I'm just delaying, but it's still tough. And the scale has been up for the past 2 days after being down for the first 4. Trying to just stay motivated by all the amazing progress pictures from the IF groups on Reddit and FB.0 -
Morning all, I didn't eat well yesterday..one of the mindsets I have to change is that I cook and make sure everyone has something to eat and then I eat left overs or fix myself a sandwich (PB) just to take the hunger pains away. Plus I haven't tracked in 2 days..so I. know that is another thing I need to keep working at.
@trooworld Yea on the loss. I am so happy for you and don't think just because you were wearing black you don't look like you are losing weight...take the compliment and know that your hard work is showing...
cbabie0 -
@senoritafloridita I think that's why I never fasted at night...I would never make it. I used to only eat after 4pm and at that time I was also off my sugar foods...it worked, but then my life changed and it no longer worked for me. You will find what works for you...we all struggle and we find it then life changes and we have to look again..it's a journey. LOL.
Cbabie0 -
@trooworld Yes I am tracking. I keep going over by a couple hundred calories each day so that part isn't working. So focus is needed there this week. Yaaay on your 5 lbs. It showed up on my scale.
@cbabie You've been saying for a while now you are going to make those breakfast burritos. lol So first step is do you have all the ingredients in your house? So how to change your mindset on feeding every one else first? Then answer is fill your plate first. Then fill baby girl's plate. Then the rest can fill their plates. If they get hungry, then they can eat leftovers or a PB sandwich. Can you do that one time this week and report back to us?
@senoritafloridita Hang in there on your IF. It sounds like you are doing great.
42 min walk today. I'm going to be focusing on stretching this week. Ask me if I stretched. I was thinking today, what can I do this week that I wasn't doing last week? So I chose that. My joints are back to hurting and I think because I quit my stretching the past couple of months.0 -

Hope everyone had a wonderful March! Watch out for all those April Fools jokes.0 -
@trooworld So how about see if you can get your setpoint down to 220. I think if we slowly lower the thermostat our bodies would just get used to it. My normal seems to be around 200-202. Although I'm now 5 above that with that recent gain. No I didn't stretch yesterday but I just finished for today. So onto tomorrow. How was the restaurant? How's the puppy? I would have loved that musical.
@gemwolf110 I just saw you lost some more weight. Your plan is working. Woohoo!
I had an interesting thing happen today. I was having a little pity party saying to myself why won't this work. Then thought, I can't give up. Cause that doesn't do any good. Then I went to read a book on my Kindle and a book that I know I didn't click on was now at the front of my library. Hm...... So I thought well I'll count at the days and see what day I should be on. Day 90. So I open it up and this was the first line. “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” Thomas A. Edison
Take a lesson from Thomas Edison today. If you want to achieve your biggest dreams, then you must practice turning failure into success. How can you use the knowledge you’ve gained from things that don’t work? What can you do differently the next time around? What did you learn from the experience? You never fail if you learn from your mistakes.
Harvey, Jason. SPARK: 365 Daily Tasks Empowering YOU to Live Your Best Life! (p. 90). Kindle Edition.
So that was my message from God today. Cause I know I did not click on that book but I was meant to read and share that message.

@trooworld Umami: I think my Japanese friend mentioned the word to me. I know I've heard of it. I think I would like watching them make dumplings. I'm like you. I like to get my seat early and just sit and look at my phone if I have too. Hubby and son are like well as long we get there before the show starts. It will always take longer for parking or the entrance line than you think I tell them. Which is why I go with my dd for things like this. She's like me. Actually she's worse than me. Yaaay on your water.
Today is a rest day for me.1 -
Morning all, I am trying 21 D Fix, I am so big on rules, I am trying this to see if it will help change my mindset on what I am eating and what is acceptable. I do know that it's most likely something I won't choose as my lifestyle, but you never know. I like my sweets and PB too much. However, if it helps me incorporate more veggies and less carbs..I have to try it. I can't believe Easter will be here next Sunday. We are starting a 2nd qtr for this year...I think I was sick the whole 1st qtr. So glad to be over Covid, back is better..I Just know to be careful and not believe I am a 25 year old gymnast. LOL
@trooworld I am like your DH and my DH is like you...I just want to get there in time..I hate to be early. I was raised to be early and I think this is my push the limits part of me LOL. Glad you got there on time and enjoyed it. Oh I love Dumplings..my granny made the best..I don't know how she made them and I am sure it was not healthy but..
@theslightedgeforever Funny how those "things" just POP up at the right time.
. You can't quit, who would nudge me forward? LOL
Cbabie0 -
Morning all, sorry I didn't check in yesterday...wasn't a great day. The 21 D fix is not my cup of tea. However, it gives me ideas on how to tweak what I like to eat into some better choices. It is just too restrictive as I don't really like a lot of the foods listed. They are tearing up our road and the whole house is shaking...should be fun today.
@trooworld Yes I think sometimes if it's too complicated we just won't do it. Simple is a good motto..find a simple solution and it will work. LOL You are right, I was not thinking of those kind of dumplings..I just like carbs...LOL.
@theslightedgeforever Yes I have been saying that forever...I will get to it. If I can't get it done first thing before anyone gets up, it seems it won't get done in this house.
Cbabie0 -
Hi, went to the Dr yesterday and no different news. Just a follow up and he wants me to take my BP every day..good news was the machine I was using runs high. So I bought a new one and will have them double check that, but there was a 20 point difference between the 2 today. I will take the new one.. LOL. I have a big to do list today. I am hoping to accomplish something.
we went from in the mid 60's to almost mid 80's today (well that 's what the weather forecast says.. This is how we get sick. LOL
@trooworld I laughed about the chocolate bar and cupcake..mine is, if I just didn't like carbs so much I would have a good day..LOL. I think we should change our mindset and say, this. I enjoyed my chocolate bar and my cupcake and had a good day. Tomorrow will be better with only half of each. LOL
Cbabie0 -
Quick check in: Hubby and I walked yesterday 45 and today for 40 min. My VO2max has improved the last two weeks so that's good.
Hope everyone is doing well.
@retiredandlovingit None of those tornados hit close to you did they? I was watching the weather.0 -
Hi everyone. Been ages - sorry. Up and down still here, but exercise has been good except the last two days cause I’m on holidays again (3weeks). Leave tomorrow to visit family so food will be anyone’s guess. Drank water intentionally today though and didn’t snack except for the scheduled cake, and I ate a bowl of veggies with feta for both lunch and dinner.
Had a quick skim only, @trooworld I love halloumi! Salads, hamburgers, crackers - it goes with everything. Kids call it “squeaky cheese 😁.
I made the same decision about my trip - I’m going to try to track based on the closest thing I can find in the app - I never get past lunch with tracking cause i never use recipes and it’s too tedious and time consuming to plug everything in. But I figure approximate tracking is better than none at all, so I’ll intend to get back into the swing of that while I’m away and not having to do the actual cooking part.
Am off to bed now - hope you all are having a good day 👋

Moning all, I had a terrible day yesterday with my food, but today is another day to give it a try. Didn't walk and should of it was so nice out. Let's face it, I am just not an outdoor person...however you couldn't tell it by my skin...lots of sun spots/age spots. LOL
@trooworld You dinner plate looks yummy...if it were my food, it would be just dumped and not arranged. LOL. Congratulations on the adoption.
@Tamevv Good to hear from you, yea on the exercise. Enjoy your holiday!! Get rested and relaxed and ready to start again.
@theslightedgeforever yea you are walking!!!
Cbabie0 -
36 min walk: done
@trooworld I love halloumi cheese. Probably not any cheese I don't like.
@tamevv On tracking, if I don't know I find something similar and then choose the middle calories. That really seems to work for me.
@cbabie You are not an outdoor person...YET but you could be. So many fun things to do outdoors. How about taking the kids to the park? Swimming..... Playing kickball in the side yard. So many outdoor possibilities. Biking...... Do you have a zoo nearby? That's outdoor fun. Lots of steps and movement.0 -
Hello everyone! I am a former weight watchers coach that got laid off after the sequence acquisition and I have just recently got back to my fitness pal to help me stay accountable. I am not struggling with a major amount of weight to lose, but after being a coach for so long and having that to hold me accountable I feel like I was starting to let myself go from depression and unexpected change. But nonetheless I am back here and I feel so much better after seeing the pounds drop and being able to fine tune my macros0

@ravynpearce Welcome to the group! You will be able to provide your wisdom and support to us as we support you.
@trooworld Yaay on your tracking. Can you get at least 51 oz of water tomorrow?
Happy Easter to those that celebrate.0 -
Happy Easter!!! Been having issues trying to get into forums.0

Afternoon all, my life has been so non routine..UGH. I need to figure out how not to be so tied to my routine..NOT..it's the only thing that keeps me sane. LOL. I haven't done any tracking and no exercise. I feel much better today in my mind about things as I did get a good report from the Dr the other day. Only thing was I walked in and ALL the patients waiting were old and in a wheelchair. I thought if I don't stay on track that will be me someday.LOL
@theslightedgeforever Loved the sign, thanks
@trooworld OH MY about the pie...I would have been so upset. It's the little things LOL. glad you just moved on to a different way to have pie. I LOVE strawberry pie. Hope the bug leaves you alone the remainder of the day and finds someone else to bother
@gemwolf110 You know you got on here when it was possible, that's what matters..Hope your Easter was good.
@ravynpearce Welcome!! I understand how the coaching kept you accountable but it sounds like you took those skills to heart that you helped others with and are getting you out of your funk and keeping your health a priority. Great job. So glad you are here

Hi peeps, this is just a fly by for now. I actually started two jobs last week so now my schedule is insane during the week. One of the good parts is, besides, the money, is being so busy that I have much less time to eat or sit around thinking about eating. I will try to catch up more this weekend.0
