Hello, I am Amanda, I’m a crazy cat lady from Michigan. I stopped logging and weighing mid February because of health issues and I ended up gaining back about 4 pounds. I worked hard to lose weight last year and don’t want to gain it all back!

My goal for April is to lose those 4 pounds and walking 3 days a week.

    OSW: 250 lbs
    April 1: 205.1 lbs
    April goal: 201 lbs

    4/1: 205.1
    4/2: 205.7
Went out to eat last night which I rarely do. The food seemed really salty.
    4/3: 204.8
    4/4: 204.8
It’s been raining here for a few days and supposed to rain until Thursday. Makes it hard to walk outside but I’ve got to make myself do it!
    4/5: 206.7
A 2 pound gain overnight. Lovely.
    4/6: 204.8 phew!
    4/7: 205.1
I did not stick to plan yesterday.

My name is Donna. I am 5’ 5” tall, 62 years old and from the Michigan USA. In 2016 I weighed 253 lbs. I am on a journey of health and to get back to the real me.
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!
    250’s; 240’s; 230’s; 220's; 210's; 200's; 190's; 180’s; 170's; 160's; 150’s

Starting Weight (from March 1st): 191.6 (I am re-doing my March starting weight and goals due to health issues in March.
    Goal: 186.6 (Five lb Loss)
    Actual Ending Weight: xxxxx

04/06-DNW-(Trend Weight DNW)- I ate dinner way way too late, around 10:30 PM. I’ve got to find a way to eat earlier! My tummy feels like a ton of bricks. It was a good day though. I stayed within calorie, got a good bp reading late last night after dinner and (therefore) jumped on my exercise bike for about 25 minutes. Travel today. I must be strategic.

04/07-190.6-(Trend Weight 192.4)- This was probably not a good day to weigh. After all, yesterday was travel which always means restaurant, extra sitting and no water pill. But I needed to see where I am at before Easter Sunday. I am not real happy seeing the 190’s again but I think I can put a big ding in that today and tomorrow before the holiday. To meet my personal goal of the 10 pound loss between Christmas and Easter, I need to drop 2.2 pounds back off. No matter what happens, I am proud of my progress. I am down approx 8 pounds during my mini-challenge including through the Christmas holidays and the Valentine’s candy gifts. I have dropped a size, am measuring smaller, and feel more confident about myself. All wins! But I am still going for those last two pounds since I had them off before my bp issues stopped me in my tracks. Good news yesterday: Cardiac rehab released me with all good grades. That means less travel in my future which will definitely affect my weight loss. I’m feeling “up” today, even with the scale disappointment. After all, I had to buy new (smaller) underwear, remember?

My name is Mary, 65 from Pennsylvania. I'm a RN and work long days. Logging in everyday since I started MFP 5/14/21.
Unfortunately lost my mojo and gained a lot back but not all Thank God! Need to get back on track and focused.

Heaviest weight 255 lbs, twice. :-(
    9/14/20-255 lbs
    5/14/21-232.2 lbs MFP start date.
4/6/22- 147.6 lbs (107.4 lbs lost) I did NOT have a surgery. Did Keto.
    8/1/22- 167.2 lbs
    12/1/22-198 lbs
    1/1/23- 213.4 lbs
    2/1/23- 207.4 lbs
    3/1/23- 201 lbs
    4/1/23-207.6 lbs
4/2/23-209 lbs. I need to get my head right and be more accountable to myself in this. I need to get back in control and off the carbs again. Back to my lower level of daily carbs and FOCUSED on what is best for me! Not short term enjoyment. Elliptical 150 minutes for 10.11 miles.
4/3/23- 206 lbs. Was really good yesterday, was under my calories & carbs and it shows. I just don't understand why I have to go SO low carb to lose.
4/4/23- 204.8 lbs Can you tell I've been good with keeping my carbs low the last few days? Today looks to be good too!
4/5/23- 204.8 lbs. Stuck to my plan yesterday and today. Turned down a sweet treat that our director of nursing sent to us!
4/6/23- 203.6 lbs What a difference getting my carbs back under control. I wish my body wasn't so darn sensitive to carbs! I can't eat but a few servings of low carb veggies and not eating fruit. It's ridiculous!!!!

4/7/23- 202.8 lbs Well it's working again, the very low carbs. Guess my head is in it again! Elliptical 150 minutes for 10.06 miles, zones 2, 3 & 4.

I went to a surgery consult yesterday for a large incisional hernia I have from a hysterectomy in 2018. The surgeon wants me to lose 50 pounds before she does the surgery. She suggested giving me 4 months to lose it….I laughed in her face! I can’t lose 50 pounds in 4 months! Maybe 6 months. I know I need to lose weight, it just sucks when someone else points it out. One more reason to work harder I suppose. 🫠[/quote]

@joans1976 Way back in 2010 (during my cancer treatments) I was told my hernia is an umbilical hernia. They wanted to fix it during my complete hysterectomy but the surgeon said my stomach was too big and it would not last if fixed. They told me to come back for that when I lost weight and have a smaller stomach.

Since then, I have lost almost 70 pounds but unfortunately, my stomach is still very big. I'm talking humpty dumpty here. It is disproportinate to the rest of my body. It is the classic T2D belly found in many middle-aged or older T2 diabetics. It is definitely not ready for that surgery yet, unfortunately. In the meantime, I can see that the hernia has gotten bigger. This is one of my driving factors in losing my weight. EVENTUALLY it has to start coming more off the stomach! I just wanted you to know that I feel ya! We seem to share a lot of physical problems Amanda! Is there something in the Michigan Water?

My name is Paula Jones and I am fed up! I am a mother of 3 kids and married to my husband who I’ve been with since September of 2000. I used to be EXTREMELY fit since my time spent serving our country in the US Army. I am now an obese 100% service disabled veteran experiencing a variety of health related issues primarily resulting from my weight and I have finally reached a point where I can’t take it anymore so I am taking a firm stand. I WILL lose and am losing this weight since I started going at my goals hard Feb 9. I have seen favorable results so far with my current strategy which is a combination of Noom, GOLO, and Intermittent Fasting (IF) with revolutionary changes being made to how I eat, what I eat, and why I eat. I weigh myself every day and tape various locations of my body once a week to help hold myself accountable and establish a way to thoroughly measure my progress. I start including physical exercise today and will be going to the gym to start up some cardio at the very least. Let’s do this! Huah!

    Goals for April:
Workout cardio at least 3x/week (min 20 min) 🦵🏾🫀🏃🏾‍♀️
    Strength training at least 3x/week
    (min 20 min) 🦾🏋🏾
    Reduce sugar intake to 6 g/day 🦷👩🏾‍🍳
Start meditating again more at least every other day for a minimum of 10 min/session 💆🏾‍♀️🧘🏾‍♀️

    Start weight: 245.2 lbs
    Goal weight: 195 lbs
    April goal weight: 235.2 lbs

February end weight: 258.2 lbs (6 lbs lost)
March end weight: 245.8 lbs (12.4 lbs lost)

    April 🪺🌳💐🌞🌧️

    1 - 245.2 lbs
    2 - 247.4 lbs 😱 😵‍💫
3 - 249.3 lbs 👺😵 I turn this around IMMEDIATELY. I’ve been steady losing. Time to tighten up. May have another increase before I see a decrease, but I won’t try to tell the future.
    4 - DNW 😫
    5 - DNW 😰🫣
    6 - 248.0 lbs 😢
    7 - 241.2 lbs 🤔
8 - 244.2 lbs 🤯😱🤔 What the HECK is going on!? I wonder if the issue is my not being as consistent with the time of day that I weigh myself. I was being diligent with weighing myself pretty immediately after I wake up at 0430.

@deepwoodslady I'm a RN. I doubt your hernia is bigger. It could be though. But I would think you have lost some inches above it and now it just shows more. My guess.

    4/8: 205.1
I went to a surgery consult yesterday for a large incisional hernia I have from a hysterectomy in 2018. The surgeon wants me to lose 50 pounds before she does the surgery. She suggested giving me 4 months to lose it….I laughed in her face! I can’t lose 50 pounds in 4 months! Maybe 6 months. I know I need to lose weight, it just sucks when someone else points it out. One more reason to work harder I suppose. 🫠
    4/8: 203.8
This is nice to see. I’m still pretty bummed out by the doctor appointment as hard as I am trying to not take it personally.
I hope everyone has a Happy Easter!
