It looks like it passed just hitting the top, but they're not out of the woods yet. Its only 4 am there so I will wait until its about 6 am and ask him how he's fairing.💖

Saw one lone male hummingbird at the feeder. Usually will get a couple of males along with juveniles then all will move on except for one male that is joined by a female a bit later. Clear blue skies now except for just a bit of haze in the distance. Putting up another feeder to see if I can get more than one pair to stay here. So nice to see the male at least. Thought all the smoke might of affected their migration. Goldfinch are now back too along with what looks like a red finch.
DH just finished seeding the barley. Now we could use more rain. A few things are starting to come up in the garden but still pretty spotty.
Hope everyone enjoys their day.

Thank you, darlin', I knew you'd be keeping track. The daughter and family are in Hawaii, but on O'ahu, so no active volcanoes, thank goodness. And yeah, I did look it up!3 -
Mary- Maybe I should offer the room mate $500 to get her to move out. It would be worth it to get her out.

(((hugs))) to those who need them.
WOOHOO MARY!!! That's just about the best news I've read all day. I'm so thrilled for you. Too bad it couldn't be May 31st. Hopefully that $500 is enough to keep her from doing any damage, but since it's payment AFTER the walkthrough, you should be safe.
Heather and Rori, you both look MAHVelous! So beautiful and so happy. Have a great time and hug each other for all of us.
But if you just have the papers ready, Debbie, you're not really talking to your mom about it. You're just presenting the solution and letting her do the rest. "Here are the papers, Mom. All you need to do is sign them, hand them to her and tell her that it's not working anymore." Done. And if you're sister agrees with you, you get the papers ready and give them to your sister to give to your mom.
I'm no good with names, Pip but it sounds DELISH!

Mary ~ I just hope the lady who is moving will not ruin the property further than has already been done. We have rented our starter home for the last 20 yrs and have had to evict two renters. The last did a lot of damage and left the house filled with cigarette smoke that we had to use special equipment to remove. It took us 3 months to get the house ready for new renters. The good thing is that we hired a professional agent to interview our present renter who has been great for the last 5 or 6 yrs. They report anything that needs repairing and we get it done.

Debbie - I had a wild thought. Is there any chance your mom's roommate has been stealing from her? Has your mom mentioned anything missing - cash, jewelry, anything that might be of value? A little here, a little there.
It might be a good idea to make sure any valuables are well hidden or better yet, off the premises before she gets the boot. She might feel she's entitled to whatever she can put in her pockets.
Her strange behavior reeks of guilt. Maybe I've been reading too many detective books.

My wisteria, surrounding the beautiful Rori.
Our walk along the seafront. The ruined West Pier is behind us.
Coming out of the boutique brewery.
Shandiz.
We put Rori on the bus and walked home.
Excellent day.
Tomorrow we are all going up to Devil's Dy ke in the afternoon.

Our wall is done!! I am beyond happy with how it came out! A local guy we sold something to is a carpenter and he answered my request for help. He did a quick fantastic job. Hubby and I just finished staining it ourselves. Not perfect, our first time but I’m happy it!!!!

Heather- such wonderful times with you 3,isn't it grand.....
Pip- it looks just lovely...
The smoke and pollen has been doing me in and i should have known better than to sleep with the window open last night.. today was horrible.
But I did come home and make a solution and spray the weeds on my patio,im hoping it works..if not I'll add epsom salt to the mix..
We are getting some rain which will help with the smoke thank goodness.

Skipped working out after we walked the kids. The wall was an all day thing, glad it’s done4 -
Walked for two hours this morning, worked in the yard pulling weeds and spreading bark for an hour, then spent the rest of the afternoon riding my exercise bike and watching several episodes of "Breaking Bad" with Jake. A fabulous day.
A friend of mine said to me years ago that she would rather eat a bug than be a landlord. I agreed with her then and I'm sure several of you would agree with that statement now.

Rori and Heather-great pics. So good to see you having good visit.
Pip-I think wall looks great. Staining gets redone over time so you can change it up later if you want.
Very busy at work today. Discovered I will have to make some decisions that will tick some people off, but some times there is no alternative based on what they have done. Yeah, I'm losing my fight for the game. We are starting to talk transition plan! I did not sleep well last night from stupid cough. I skipped evening does of muscinex-will see if that helps. Another day and a half of antibiotics.
No real observations to add to the party-enjoyed catching up on your day.
Rebecca-hope you hear from son soon.
Lisa-hope you won the weed battle.
Annie-your enthusiasm is wonderful.

Thanks ladies for your encouragement. I told you about me being bullied on my Facebook post from our tenants sister with the laughing meme. That was nothing compared to what her brother wrote. Telling people not to rent from us and how we were…I stopped reading. I just blocked him and deleted the post and changed the post to no comments. Then I reposted it. I messaged the admin and because I blocked and deleted the post I couldn’t write a complaint. I decided to remove my listing and wait a week then repost I’m too busy now with visiting family. Some people are just not right in the head! My husband thinks that I should have waited a little while before listing.

Ginny - hope it's a better night's sleep tonight, and that the transition is as painfree as possible. To your question, no, the weeds won. Again. I'm going to sharpen the hoe tomorrow - this crab grass, or whatever it is, puts runners out measured in feet, not inches, and it is tenacious, with every few inches another deep root. I got one rose deadheaded (don't tell Corey!) and weeded, and lost my energy halfway through the next one. Tomorrow will be better, one hopes.
Rori and Heather- great pictures, such fun to see you all together. Heather, I'm really curious if Rori's visit makes Johnnie more likely to believe your online friends are a good thing. I know there was a point years ago where he worried about scams, etc. with your online friends. Enjoy your trip to the Devils Dy ke. Hope the weather holds for you!
Allie - Miles looks like such a little angel in the pics. Hope Tracy and Kyle are able to pin down a childcare provider soon... When is your cruise coming up?
Rebecca - thank you for the update - hope you get good news soon.
Kinda busy morning for me tomorrow - a Walmart delivery at 8 a.m., and then driving to the eye doctor at 11 a.m. Only a ten minute drive. I need to get new glasses, but they probably won't be near as pretty as Allie's! Two things in one day is a busy day for me.
Hope it's a good night for all,
Love y'all,

Debbie I think that the lady might take the money but after she spends it she’ll be at your mom’s door. I think the only way is a court action. Actually do you think that in reality your mom likes having her there and she likes the attention she gets from you and your sister. Like a codependent to an alcoholic. Just no alcohol involved.
Carla I’m ready to throw a party! It’s worth the payout. Even the harassment just makes me realize how lucky we are to have her leave.
Carol you definitely have had a horrible renter. I can see why screening the potential tenants is very important. Was your professional agent hired just to find the perfect tenant and an one time fee? I still think we make good money even with damage issues. We require first and last months rent and equal damage deposit.
Pip I really love your walk! I had to show it to my husband and he agreed it’s very artistic!

Machka - I always find it interesting how things are done in different parts of the world.
Allie - I was so fortunate to never have to use daycare, but I think it would be normal practice to have to pay even when the child isn’t there. That space is still reserved for your child. I hope they don’t try to bring this all back to you again.
Lisa - when I was little I thought I would be a pilot. My eyesight put the brakes on that dream very young. I live near the airport now and love the planes and helicopters flying around. The F-16’s though can get a little tiring as they rattle my whole place.
Thanks Lisa - my other friend asked me when she can get one and wants something naughty. I’ll have to put some thought into this.
Rebecca - I hope you hear from your son soon.
Pip - that wall is gorgeous!
Ginny - how long until retirement for you?
Had a great supper with the gals. It was nice catching up. My friend loved her new bag and another friend asked where hers was?
A long day today.

Love looking at the weather systems around the world on Windy. I see the one you're talking about, Rebecca.
Evidently the typhoon knocked out most of the power on Guam and the defence personnel were evacuated.

Bad Egg wake-up call:One spoiled-rotten cat who wanted outside woke me up at 4:15 a.m., and I made the mistake of leaving our bedroom door open when I went back to bed. So... Egg came right back inside and decided she also wanted my husband awake, and he does NOT wake up in a good mood necessarily, especially if jolted out of sleep by a cat sharpening her claws on his bedpost. So... he yanks himself out of bed to try to grab her and pitch her out of the bedroom before she wakes me up, and she scampers across the headboard to my bedpost and starts to sharpen her claws. And...he goes around my side of the bed to catch her, and trips over the step I use to get into our quite high bed... And he knocks over my metal water bottle on my bedside table, which sounds like a gong being struck, but is luckily one with a sealed lid. And... he is trying not to yell or cuss because he thinks I'm asleep (ha!). Now everybody's awake, but only one of us is happy...
Said kitty is now angelically curled up in my husband's chair asleep while I potter around on the computer, husband is driving an hour north for some scheduled maintenance work on equipment, as his alarm was going to go off in just 20 minutes anyway, and I will be taking a nap this afternoon, most likely. The temptation to poke the cat and wake her up every five minutes is awfully strong...
Rebecca - Checked on the situation in Guam; looks like the typhoon didn't cause injuries or fatalities, but I don't think your son is having a lot of fun right now! Hope he lives on the second floor of whatever building he's in, sounds like the vast majority of the island was flooded. Hope he checks in soon...
Tracey - Not suitable at all for a bag or mug, but one of my favorite chicken jokes:- A man in a movie theater notices what looks like a chicken sitting next to him. “Are you a chicken?” asked the man, surprised. “Yes.” “What are you doing at the movies?” The chicken replied, “Well, I liked the book.”
Woo... Looking back at this post, apparently the cricket mind takes over when I get woken too early... I'm going to toddle off and read the internet now. Love y'all!

Heather and Rori, those pictures make me so HAPPY!
Pip, the wall looks amazing. SO impressed. Please; you did a great job. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
Praying for Guam, Rebecca.
Uh-oh, Allie... boys and their toys. Now Miles knows what he wants for Christmas!!! hehehe, one of those BIG-rider lawn mowers!
Mary, I just can't believe how rude her family is being about this whole thing! You obviously made the right choice. Wonder what she's telling them about the situation. Certainly not the truth!

Well, we've broken Rori!
No, really she overdid things on the seashore this morning and her body is crying out for a nap. I know that feeling all too well. When I'm on holiday I really have to pace myself and do much less than my brain wants to. I've always been like that. New stuff and new people can be just ....too much. My afternoon nap is pretty much sacrosanct.
All good. I will be napping too!
I hope she will post her photo of her feet in the English Channel
I've amazed myself this busy week at doing my writing every morning. I did 500 words today. They might not be brilliant words, but I squeezed them out!
Love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxxx5
