Welcome! Keep chipping away at it!2 -
Sept total: 12.3/100 miles
9/2: 8 miles
9/4: 4.3 miles
I did 4.3 miles for my 43rd birthday. I also took my new watch for a spin. The suggested workout was 45 minute base run. I did the workout and tacked on enough distance to hit 4.3 miles. The real time pace seems better than my last watch and it found the gps instantaneously. There are some settings I will probably need to tweak because it was buzzing more than I would like. It also gives me quite a bit more data than my old one. We'll see what that amounts to. I like data but don't tend to live or die by it.8 -

My newer watch has sleep data, that I kind of like. I don't want to wear my running watch to bed. Now I do occasionally to see the sleep info.

Yeah, I like the mile/interval lap buzzes and the text/call notifications. But I don't want it buzzing for every little thing through the entire run!
My old running watch wasn't comfy enough to sleep in. Just a little too bulky. I currently sleep with an old Fitbit because I found I prefer being gently buzzed awake over being scared awake by an alarm clock. This watch has a lot of sleep data so I'm going to try it out.5 -
Nice birthday run @martaindale . Sounds like you are liking your new watch. I love the data too, but, like you, don't live or die by it. Just nice to look at and compare.3

EXACTLY! My tiny fitbit gently buzzes me awake. Fitbit has a reputation of being among the most accurate Sleep Stage tracking too.
Garmin announced they trying to improve on this. When I do wear my running watch to sleep the Sleep Stage now seem comparable to Fitbit.
I am not a big fan of wearing a watch to bed, but the tiny fitbit is acceptable.5 -
September goal: 100 miles
9/1: 4 miles (41:44)
9/2: 4 miles (40:48)
9/3: 4 miles (41:30)
9/4: 3 miles (28:55)
Total: 15/100 miles completed
Tonight's run felt much better than yesterday. I increased my carbs at dinner, which I think helped. I'll continue tweaking my diet to see if I can find the sweet spot. I might also try to add a small snack after dinner for longer runs.8 -
Hi all. Morning.
Got in a 4 1/2M this morning (09"13).
@Laurz9191 thanks Laura! Live like a vegan monk for the most part... But when I fall off... I make sure I hit every branch on the way down!
@__Tams__ hope you stick around! We'd be upto 3 then for the UK! Joint with Tennessee... And just 1 behind Texas!!10 -
Hello everyone!
Today the weather is nice and warm (no fog). I got in 7.1km and snuck in a nice little steep hill near the end. Lots and lots of slug dodging - made me think of @polskagirl01’s beer slug traps .
So far 37.7km/160 for September.9 -
I got in 5 miles before work this morning. Pretty uneventful. Temp was 67F.8
-
@Laurz9191 One of the worst things about slugs is when you accidentally step on one. Then they like to spread out all across the sidewalk/road so it's almost unavoidable.quilteryoyo wrote: »@polskagirl01 Would drunk slugs hurt the hedgehogs? That might be the solution of how to dispose of the slugs. We'll have to have pictures of that birthday cake!

I might've been looking at watches online yesterday. Not really liking the prices at the moment though. My old bright blue watch really is fine. I think I'll put off buying another one for now.8 -
@Zaxa2021 Glad your run was easier today.
Nice run @tarun_yadavA .
You did great @Laurz9191 .
You are so consistent @Teresa502 !
@polskagirl01 Interesting about the hedgehogs. I wouldn't want to harm them either. It sounds like everything is working and you are getting rid of them. I hope all of your efforts result in some squash at the end of the season. AND, now that you know, you can start setting out the traps earlier next year and have a bigger crop! Lovely hammock picture.

Holiday home mini hills run. Managed to stretch one direction to 1km and ran down twice and up twice. Well, run up.. today the best was 150m up before I had to walk again. And no, I also can't walk uphill, never was able to (never ending story... I'll send off some paperwork to a muscle clinic after my holiday to finally figure out what's going on) but anyway, got the good time by running down fast Next run will be 5km I guess. So I'll do the last km half down and up again.8 -
Sept total: 15.3/100 miles
9/2: 8 miles
9/4: 4.3 miles
9/5: 3 miles
Short pre-work run in the dark. It was 80F again before 6 am. I can't wait until these temps are in the rear view.6 -
Great running @yirara ! Hills are tough.
You're doing great @___Tams___ . Running for charity is a great incentive to keep it up.

September 1: Walk 2.50 miles - treadmill wun
September 2: Walk 2.00 miles - treadmill - weed eat for almost 2 hours
September 3: Walk 2.00 miles - treadmill
September 4: Walk 2.14 miles - Ran 1.86 miles - driveway laps and to mom's -D1W1 HM training
September 5: Walk 1.14 miles - Ran 1.76 miles - driveway laps - D2W1 HM Plan - mowed mom's lawn
13.40/80 mile goal
I went out for the scheduled Foundation Run today. 5 min Zone 1, 15 min Zone 2, 5 min Zone 1. Walked when my HR got too high. That was a lot today. It was hot and humid and my legs didn't want to work, so I struggled and the HR showed it. But, I got it done. I did try the dreaded running math and missed it by a tenth, so total was 2.90 miles today instead of the intended 3.
Later in the day, when it was even hotter, we mowed mom's lawn. I mostly rode, but did push mow the hill that is too hard for mom to do. I almost got overheated and had to take a break afterward, before finishing the riding part. I'm thinking I probably didn't drink enough after my morning run.6 -
September Goal: 130 Miles
9/1: 3.30 miles
9/2: 1.51 miles
9/3: 11.12 miles
9/4: 2.01 miles
9/5: 7.02 miles
24.96/130 miles completed for September
It may be September, but it is definitely still summer. It was 84°F feels like 89°and there was 16 mph winds. I did get out a little early and ran 7 miles. It was a good run. I haven't seen the mean dog lately, so I ran past his house and didn't see him so that was good. I was able to run through the sprinklers at the courthouse and also at the residence that is about halfway through my run. I saw a deer near the park and the cross country kids at the park. It looks like it is going to be another hot one tomorrow.

Another run where I can feel pace, not so much suffering through.

- Sep 5 - 7.00 miles

Bumped into every man and his dog on my route today! All good!
@quilteryoyo as always - thanks for your kind words and encouragement 😊
@chris_in_cal great job on getting the runs in, upping pace and not feeling anything!
@__Tams__ welcome! 😊 look forward to seeing/hearing about your progress on here as you prepare for your fundraising run! 🙌
(This group is addictive and there's a lot of shoe p0rn and sweet-tooth p0rn on here lol )7 -
Great run @kgirlhart . I hope it cools off soon. Glad you didn't see the mean dog.
You're doing great @chris_in_cal .
Great running @tarun_yadavA ! I hope you didn't "literally" bump into people and their dogs. But, I bet it slowed you down a bit, to make sure you didn't get tripped up by the dogs and their leashes.2
