65 yrs young F, 5ft 4 Round 242 (my 172nd). Thank you @quiltingjaine for the new round, as always, so grateful.
Goals for this round to get into 138s solidly, hopefully lose a pound and keep heart rate under 50 beats a minute, then longer term goal to get back to 135 in time for Christmas (just over 5 weeks!).Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, it’s taken me 75 rounds to achieve my under 130 target; back to maintenance!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back to around 134. A healthy lifestyle must be a permanent way of life.

11/20 138.4 – another wet day yesterday so headed up to Quarry Bank Mill, a National Trust property 70 miles away, managed to get in 4 miles walking around the site and in between the indoor exhibitions/museums. 200 calories over.
11/21 139.4 – 9.35 miles walked, all calories eaten back.
11/22 139.4 – 9.18 miles walked, all calories eaten back.
11/23 139.4 – 9.54 miles walked yesterday, USA 🦃 Thanksgiving Day 🦃, hope you all have a wonderful cerebration.
11/24 139.4 – no structured walking due to child minding little DGS, must stop feeding this cold now it’s almost gone!
11/25 139.8 – 10.39 miles walked, all exercise calories plus 62 eaten back, we were out for Indian meal last night with friends, I had eaten super lightly earlier in the day to compensate so hoping this is mainly due to excess sodium. Just 2 days to turn this around!!
11/26 138.6 – 9.79 miles walked, less than 15% exercise calories eaten back.
11/27 138.6 – 7.85 miles walked, lunch out with siblings meant all calories + 200 eaten back. A loss this round again of 0.2 pound, but at least a loss!!

I'm 30F and committed to wondering less about the scale and wondering instead about how great it's going to be when my daily healthy practices are so normal that it would be weird not to do them, even on vacations or holidays. It has been nice so far. This round is the big test.

Remember, everyone, to gain a pound of fat we'd need to eat an EXTRA 3500 calories on top of our normal calorie needs. I'm sure all the Americans ate over our daily calorie needs yesterday and gained plenty of water weight and food weight and inflammation weight, but give it a few days back to normal and it'll come off the scale.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS: One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

Hi everyone, I’m joining a bit late. I’ve been using mfp about 10 years and rather than losing I have gained through all this years. I lost weight only two times and one was with Saxenda I immediately gained back after stopping (so not recommended), and the other time I lost very slowly but gained it back in a few years. So here I am trying again. Most of my trials ended up in a few weeks, I hope this time I turn it to a lifestyle.

11/18. Was up most of the night the night before, so yesterday I dragged all day. Whats up with my sleeping patterns? ?!! I managed to get in a pretty good fat-burning work out yesterday but my steps were 🚫5k, ✅cal, macros, 65 min ex , 43 min cal 🔥 in Z 3. Stretch /agility.
11/19 Yesterday: 🚫 🚶♀️5k, ✅cal, macros, 61 ex min, 20 min Z3,🔥485 cal, 🏋️♀️20 min with DGS. We also played 30 minutes of basketball and it was so much fun! Very hard for me to stay in Z2&3 HR. Beautiful day.
NSV: Chose to walk with my grandson, taking our two pups to the vet and then picked them up an hour later… Before this journey, would’ve easily used the car. Walking with my grandson provided more great 1:1 time with him and 3k+ steps.
Slept 10 hrs last night. Today: stretch, tennis 🏋️♀️ and min 10k steps.
11/20 Yesterday: 🙆♀️🎾 🏋️♀️🚶♀️12+k steps, 💓Z3 90min, (total workout 196 minutes) 1234 cal & 🔥1106 total cal. Haven’t yet determined how to measure “fat cal 🔥” when not isolated. So for now measuring all calories “🔥” during workouts via Apple Watch & “Zones”.
After tennis, I walked extra, then walked 2+ miles RT to the grocery (mindful of HR zones). Then spent another hour piecing together strength training/calisthenics/stretching options… Since I have the luxury of time on my side, I’m having fun with it. So much to learn!
Slept well but up at 4am. Still have energy this morn so let’s see what my day brings…

Figuring out how to utilize the “zones” app. Need to isolate a “fat- burning” workout on its own. I burn less calories per minute but the benefit is burning stored fat – a strategy to help achieve my fitness goal to “lose fat and gain muscle”. We’ll see how all that works out… experimenting till early January - for next InBody.
And, ngl , I am sincerely curious/wondering why scale results haven’t drifted lower… Not bothered by it, but I definitely continue a daily calorie deficit so there’s that….. Figuring out my body for sure. I’m patient and committed. Doing hard things. 💪🏻😎

11/24 Yesterday: Estimated & entered 2300 cal into MFP for yesterday. I give myself a B- for the day. Ate some Brie, delicious turkey (dark meat only) & salad. Small taste of dressing. My carb splurge was one white chocolate pumpkin spice cookie and three 🍷.
Holding our 4wk DGD was sublime! She is precious. Nothing like a new baby to make a holiday super special!
Visiting family all day today not sure what to expect but will do my best. Declaring food & alcohol holiday officially over. Back on plan. Will walk and stretch today.

How do I feel from fasting? Hmmm… ok. Read many testimonies re: increased energy, clarity, etc…. but I’m not sure I feel any different. Feel extra “clean”. Slept soundly. I have 13 hrs to go to hit 72 hrs. 💪🏻
NSV: I know I have the discipline to accomplish what I set out to do. Game changer. I definitely like feeling “in control”… The tough part is ahead of me - remaining mindful and challenging movement! So very grateful!

In Aug 2014 @ 157lbs (down 15 from heaviest of 172lbs in 2010), I decided to take control of my health. I lost 30 pounds by 1/1/2015. Weight topped @ 128-132lbs through the end of 2020. Five years!

2020 through 2021, I fluctuated 132-135lbs. Three more good years.
2022 crept up to 140lbs by 8/1. Dropped to 128lbs again by 9/30 then held steady till 12/31.
2023 Back ⬆️ 145lbs by July 15! 15lbs BOOM! Enjoyed eating and margaritas way too much! Started tracking. Joined “Just give me 10 days” R231 in beginning of 8/2023. Here we are!
I learned my choices created an emotional 🎢 roller coaster with yo-yo weight/fitness trends. My goal is to reach 130lbs as a ceiling. Pretty clear to me that once I reached my 60s, I would reach a goal weight and then go backwards. Thank goodness 145lbs was the max over the last nine years.

11/27 - honestly I'm a bit flabbergasted. I have been pretty out of control with my eating since Thursday. I haven't tracked or anything. Too many sweets and high fat foods. 🤷♀️ I'm happy to end on a positive note, but I feel like I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop!

11/18 - I ended Round 241 yesterday at 244lbs. And woke up to 241.2lbs this morning. I've been constipated for a few days and now I'm not. Chalking the drastic change up to that. Beginning today I want to add exercise to my program. I have somewhat limited mobility so I'm only going to aim for 15 minutes per day. The low goal is doable for me and motivating when I get it done. I plan to add 5 minutes a week until I get where I want to be. Excited for another round. It really feels like I can do anything for 10 days! 💪👏🥳
11/19 - I went over my calories by a good bit yesterday. The culprit was some honey roasted peanuts that hubby brought. Soooo many calories for hardly any food. But I kept going by and grabbing a palmful. He's going to have to put those in his work truck and take them to work. I'm too new at this to have tempting high cal food in the house.
We also worked really hard on our house yesterday. We have some minor remodel projects plus trying to get some deep cleaning done because we have family coming Saturday for thanksgiving (our 2nd one.) For the last few years I haven't had the energy for deep cleaning and we haven't really been able to have people over, but the house, and thereby we, are suffering. So it's all hands on deck. The good news about deep cleaning is that I'm up and moving more. Bad news is that I get very sick (fibromyalgia) every time I'm overly active, and if course there's a super fine line there.
I didn't "exercise" yesterday but I was on my feet and moving for the majority of the day. I burned over 400 calories just in steps and not counting standing and lifting things. Got a lot more work to do today, too.
11/20 - Good day yesterday. I was well under my calorie limit. I made fried rice for dinner and used a commercial teriyaki sauce that had a lot of sodium, so I'm probably retaining water. We got a lot more work done on the house so I know I burned some calories. I doubled my step goal for the day. Sometimes the scale just doesn't reflect what you're doing no matter what. But my clothes are fitting better already and I can see a difference in my face.
But ultimately I want to focus on health. Weight loss and body composition changes are wonderful but I just want to learn to enjoy making healthy choices and being healthy.
Oh, and I saw a tip on a YouTube video to keep an 8-16 oz jar by the fridge and fill it up and drink it every time you go into the kitchen. I'm doing more like every other time, but I've vastly increased the oz of water I'm drinking each day with that one little change. 💦🌊
11/21 - Holding steady. Still trucking along. I have my first holiday party to attend tonight with my Bible study group. Luckily for me most of the food won't be available to me since I'm vegetarian. I'm taking a veggie tray so there will be something healthy there. But at the same time, I plan to enjoy myself. If I go a little over on calories, so be it.
11/22 - Holiday party last night. It went well and I had a ton of fun. I'm sure I went over my calories, but the food was good and I enjoyed myself and I didn't track it. There were all sorts of finger foods and I don't really know how I would begin to track it all. I didn't go too crazy, so I'm going to take that as a win.
11/26 - I did not weigh, track or exercise the last couple of days. I just enjoyed my Thanksgiving dinners with my family and friends. I thought for sure the scale would reflect it, but it doesn't show any significant difference this morning. It may take a couple of days to catch up. I didn't meet my goals for this round but that's ok. They were ambitious for Thanksgiving week. I'll be back next round!11 -

11/20-168-Polished the silver and cleaned the garage yesterday. Spent last week doing as much as I can to get ready for Thanksgiving. Chiropractor this morning and just a few things from the grocery store.
11/21-168-Getting flowers for my decor today. First son arrives tonight, next son tomorrow. Picking up a quilt to quilt for a lady who needs it as a Christmas present. I’ll have my work cut out for me.
11/22-167-It was a wonderful 70 degrees here yesterday, so I spread bark in the yard and hosed everything down.

I decided to weigh at “half-round” and day before Thanksgiving. Down 2.2 lb. this so far this round! I knew I was behaving myself, and I have to say, it’s motivating. We’re going to friends tomorrow for TG dinner, and I plan to eat light today and for brunch tomorrow and focus on veggies and turkey and go light on all the rest—enough to get a holiday taste without loading calories. I will have dessert, though—I’m taking my pumpkin spice pecan dump cake, which tastes like a combo of pumpkin and pecan pies. Small piece. 😁

11/18 129.5 Today is DH’s 75th birthday. No plans so far.
11/19 130.5 Dinner last night with DD and her family at Mexican restaurant. Food was MEH but the place was so noisy you couldn’t hear yourself think. Not particularly impressed with either the margarita or the food.
11/20 130.0 We have so many leftovers from eating out! Yesterday was Great Greek day. I have steak leftover.
11/21 129.5 My feet were killing me last night but life goes on. Interestingly, my right foot (which has been hurting for 3 weeks) doesn’t hurt at all so far today. I’m going to the podiatrist about it tomorrow. Groceries purchased. Tomorrow I’m making 3 pies and 18 deviled eggs (36 halves) to add to the Thanksgiving buffet at our daughter’s on Thursday.
11/22 130.5 I had an early appointment and then got caught up in other things. I almost forgot to check in. Tomorrow will be crazy too. To all who celebrate- HAPPY THANKSGIVING! See you in the morning between filling deviled eggs and getting dressed to go to DD’s.

11/24 132.5 I’m okay with this. I enjoyed the day with family and friends. Drank wine and ate dessert which were definitely splurges. PROUD that I didn’t stuff myself to the point of discomfort, I was satisfied. Lots of carbs though. Granddaughters made pumpkin pudding shots which were delicious. The other grandma was supposed to make pumpkin pie but brought store bought apple so those who partake of alcohol had the shots. LOL I have a potluck on Monday and plan to take ham and zucchini au gratin - a mash up of keto friendly recipes.
