I briefly studied German in school & just found out the professor was using an unsanctioned possibly derogatory name for West Germany. (Yes, it was that long ago.)

    Random story……

My mom was a Fulbright Scholar, went to school in Germany in 1954.
She said she and her friends would take trips into the East.
    She was in Bonn.
I asked her what could possibly be so important that they’d risk going over there.
    She said, “sheet music”.
    They were Opera singers.

Well, I am really enjoying saying "lkigai". Seems like a practical mindset and path as long as you can push aside the inevitable fact that we will all be dust in the blink of an eye, so what does "meaning" even mean? Otherwsie, yea, I like this.

Hello! I love when you participate 😊

I agree. I no longer search for meaning just as I no longer engage in the inner debate about predestination or dust mote gods

but I do wonder can a person make a decent living while still serving humanity and doing something they find satisfying. Most of the people I know in real life do not love what they have to do for money. So that’s the angle I am exploring this from.

That is a great angle. I have spent considerable time on this corner. Hope you share more thoughts on this.

Predestination tripped me up for ages... About to Google "dust mote gods"

If someone is REALLY fit and muscular past a certain age (yes, my criteria is nebulous and moving but I know it when I see it) I get creeped out.

I get optimistic that some people still want to have sex after the age of 40

The heaviest / hardest weight to lift is my *kitten* outta bed - but I always feel better after an early morning workout - no cap as my son would say

Same but replace workout with “making coffee”

If I don't workout in the morning. It doesn't happen. I drink about three cups of coffee and I'm ready.

If I could be a mid morning or early afternoon person that would be my ideal

Sadly… That rarely happens and I have to settle for early morning or afternoon. It sucks that in most gyms the afternoon and evening are taken up by children who are often inconsiderate of the space around them. I’m very lucky
