    Thanks! smiley-computer004.gif

FYI..I brought my own cereal with me on the trip...smiley-eatdrink029.gif

And the fries...exactly why I don't go out to eat. My inital plan was not to eat them. Three times I told myself I wasn't going to eat them. But I ate them. The cals for the day were low enough to not worry though.

  • Hi Bella Club! Your topic name caught my eye.... my childhood friend was named Bella! Haven't spoke to her in years though, they moved away back then. Would be funny if she was in this club but I highly doubt that.

Can I ask, what is the purpose of your club? I'm new and looking for friends to share this weight loss journey with. Some of the topics are so huge... it's hard to fit in and get to know everyone.

Have a great day Bella Club!

So the Kettle Corn I had yesterday was low in sodium & cals for 2 1/3 cup per serving. I found it in the natural food isle and only cause daughter introduced me to them.

    Nite all

Hi Evelyn....you profile pic is enough for me to want you here. I love it!!

We have a very small group of friends that need extra love and support in their weight loss journey. We lift each other up when we are down and we make sure that we all stay on track. Plus we like to have fun with emoticons.smiley-angelic008.gif

  • Hi, love the new name. Had a good day at the dr. Upped the thyroid meds, wants me totally off the allergy meds, need to do Ti- chi, yoga, and more cardio. Happy with the weight loss. BTW he tells me that with family history of heart problems it is not wise to take calcium supplements, as it has a tendency to calcify the arteries. Oh great!

Peggi any news on the baby?

Marianne, thanks for taking great care and setting us up with a new site. Sounds like you prepared well for this trip. It's tough to pass up fries when they are just laying there daring you to eat them.

I spent the afternoon going through a pile of personal paperwork that needed attention, can't believe the time. Going to jump on the treadmill and see how long my knee will allow. Everyone have a great night and a fantastic tomorrow.

    Kim
  • Evelyn,

I think everyone in this group is at a place in life where they have a pretty good handle on how they want to approach their weight loss journey. We're here for each other as we make adjustments and fine tune our plans. It's a safe place to land when the journey takes a turn and you need a place to be heard, suggestions or just motivation to continue forward. It is amazing to me how often I think of the women in this group as I make choices through out my day. There is genuine care and concern far more reaching than just the weight loss end of things.

    It's a great close-knit group.

    Welcome.

    Lori
  • Had a good day at the dr.

Going to jump on the treadmill and see how long my knee will allow.

    Kim

So glad your doctor appointment went well! Take good care of that knee. Give it ice and love after a workout. Once knees start talking at you with pain, it can take a lot of time to heal.

    Good night,

That is fabulous news! It's always nice to hear good things from the dr. And I bet the dr was pleasantly surprised at your weight loss accomplishments!

    Good for you!

    Have a great day.

To keep it short, I echo what the others have said. We are a support team that does not judge. We are here to support whatever works the bella club.
  • Morning! And welcome Evelyn! This is a great group and love the support.

Treadmill dread mill. Got about 20 min in and the knee said that's enough last night. Lori, I may be spending time reacquainting myself with yoga. Years ago I used to do it, but haven't for awhile, that's when I was limber and could still do back flips!

I wanted to share this, the dr is like a walking research encyclopedia. He said in a recent weight loss study that people who went to weight watchers were 70% more successful at loosing weight than those who didn't. Those that hit their goal were 30% more successful at keeping it off after 3 years. So I thought we will be even more successful because we have each other for support every day, not just once a week!

Marianne, don't you wish you could adjust your body clock like a watch when you travel?

    Peggi.....baby?

Need to get shakin here, pouring rain=lousy traffic. Have a great day everyone"
" rain drops keep falling on my head....."
  • Thank you everyone! Looking forward to the support and fun of this group.

Interesting info about dieting from that Dr, you're right that this must be even better!

Traveling for work probably gets old but I love to travel so I'm envious anyway! I hope you are able to enjoy it some.

I've got a busy day with work, no breaks, so I'm planning and packing my food to go for the day. Including water!

    Have a wonderful day!
    Wait!
So, Peggi is having a baby??? How exciting!

Ok, that statistic may be good, but I am here to tell you I am a Weight Watcher statistic myself. I lost 80 lbs on weight watchers while I also went to work out at least 4 times a week. While going to weight watchers though, I would basically starve myself for a couple days knowing that I had to weigh in on Wednesdays. After the meeting, I would go out to eat with my girlfriend and pig out. I didn't have the motivation to follow it the way it should have been followed and the habits I formed because of the weigh-ins were bad habits. Then I left my ex and moved to FL. I stopped going to Weight watchers, I didn't go back to a gym and the weight started coming back. I kept the weight off for awhile, but it slowly started gathering on my bady again. Now 15 years later I am doing it all again.

Moral of my story...this isn't something we can pay to have fixed. It is truly a life style change. Going back to old habits isn't something we can afford to do once we lose the weight we want. We have to be accountable every day, not just once a week. I weigh myself for the record but not because I am paying someone to tell me I lost a lb. I am doing this because the way of life I was leading wasn't working for me.

All the time, I get weight watcher mail, asking me to come back. Registration is free...great, but the weekly meetings cost too much and I can buy healthier food with that money and do it at home. I learned the hard way. And I am sure we all have done pretty much the same thing. Paying someone to weigh me and tell me what I should do isn't going to make it happen for good. We have to do the work and I can do that work, right here on my computer with my Sistas. And I am having fun doing it!!!

Ok, I will stop my rant on Weight Watchers and their points system, that for some reason always has to be changed...if they have figured out weight loss, they wouldn't change it every year or so. I think what I am doing is going to be more beneficial to me in the long run.

Geez, why am I in such a critical mood today??? I better go work off some of my frustrations.

Everybody have a great day. I won't come back until I can play nice. Promise!!

  • Hello Everyone and welcome Evelyn to "The Bella Club"

I just realized that I am not crazy. There 'is" an Apple Caramel Yogurt Parfait with 180 calories. But it is at Mcd's not Wendy's. Remember the 400 calorie parfait I had the other day...?? I knew I had seen one somewhere. I will have to try that one now..

Congrats on the new baby Peggi,, hope you can get the pics up soon.

Kim, glad your dr visit went well. be careful with the knee. I still have trouble with mine and it has been 2 months since i hurt it.

Gotta get back to work.. Hope everyone is having a great day..

    Good Afternoon fellow Bellas!

I have had a very productive day and I honestly feel that I have worked out all my earlier frustrations against Weight Watchers. I apologize if I offended anyone. My scale is giving me fits this week again. I can't seem to figure out a way to keep an even weight all week. Why does it go up so much for a few days then work it's way down again each week. I know last week was stressful but I really felt I was doing pretty good with the weekend.

Oh well, just one more week into the diary of life. But I feel good today. I feel like I accompished something and I hope the scale likes me later this week. Tomorrow is packing day for me, the trip to the in-laws is Thursday. Dogs get their baths and laundry and packing so I will be productive tomorrow too. Got to move it, move it. Got to move it. I feel another song coming on.

Later Bellas. Have a fantastic Tuesday!! I am going to Outback for dinner tonight and I have already figured my calories. Gonna be a good day for me!!

No apologies necessary. You were expressing your experience with weight watchers and what you learned for yourself through it. No harm to that. Glad you are feeling better. Hope the scales starts to move in the right direction. Enjoy Outback tonight. Will be thinking of you during your trip.

    Have a great evening,

Ok. We have a plan for tomorrow (Wednesday). I drove around tonight looking for a subway so I could have a half way healthy supper tomorrow. Instead, I found Jason's Deli! We do not have Jason's Deli in MN. OMG. They even have cals listed on their lite menu AND they're nutrition is listed online! I am a happy girl! I have loaded in my supper for tomorrow already. If subway were open in the early morning, I would stop and get a sandwich and save it for lunch. Anyhoo....thought I would share. I am not feeling too good about today. Who knows, maybe this high caloric day will make my metobolism work over time. And no, I did not bring any tenny shoes to go for a walk. Oh and I haven't drank this much water EVER in one day!!!!!!

    Marianne,

You are really doing good this trip. Way to stay focused and on track. Jason's Deli sounds like a good plan. Not to mention it sounds great. They have one in Chattanooga and Ken and I are going to give it a try if we get a chance this trip. I need all the help I can get!!

    Keep up the good work!!

OK Marianne....have you checked out that menu and nutritional info for Jason's??? WOW! I am surprised...I think Ken and I will be skipping this restaurant...I can't go somewhere that has a Muffaletta and not get one. I will stick to Ken's parents and Boar's head cold cut sandwiches. smiley-eatdrink020.gif
  • And no, I did not bring any tenny shoes to go for a walk. Oh and I haven't drank this much water EVER in one day!!!!!!

bliss.gif I still think the water is just a scheme to get us running to the ladies room more often.... no tennis shoes required! On a more serious note, the higher calorie day (which wasn't actually high at all, but perhaps different than your normal day) may, indeed work to your advantage.

Super news on the deli and Subway. Enjoy your Wednesday.

Denise - You didn't like the cal levels? ; )

I don't know what a Muffaletta is but did notice they had some awesome desserts! My plan is to get the Southwest Chicken Chilli - no toppings (1 cup; 116 cals) with a side of fresh steamed veggies. I will then pour the chili over the veggies (61 cals). Total supper cals: 177 cals. I'm not a big fan of veggies (as you as may have noticed) so I have to be createive. Many times I will make chilli or turkey sloppy joes and pour it over the veggies. For lunch, I'm stopping at the grocery store to buy a weight watchers entre. The sodium is usually pretty high on those but it's better than catered food whereby I do not know the cal count.

As I'm sure you guys feel this way too, I LOATH relosing weight I've already lost. My time is limited before the wedding and I REALLY REALLY do not want to or have the time to struggle another 3 weeks to relose 2 - 5 lbs.

Lori - Do you think water is a myth? Truly? I think it's one of the main keys to weight loss. I believe it flushes that fat right out of our body. Plus all our organs work better when they are hydrated...which I'm sure you already know how our bodies work : ) with your yoga and all.

Kim - have you dug out from under the paper work yet? Hope all is well.

Evelyn - Welcome! I'm glad you've joined our group. We have lost a few of our group members over the last few weeks so it's nice to have a new person join. As Denise said, we are a small group, and I personally like smaller groups.

Elizabeth - Hope things are well. How are things going at the church?

Dodie - How are you doing?

Peggi - New Grandma! I'm sure you're still floating on cloud nine! Don't forget to drink some water while visiting baby. If we can't eat well, the least we owe ourselves is some good water intake...well, unless you're on a motorcycle...then you get a pass.

Ok. Off to start my day. You guys are my beacon in the night; my soft place to land; right there with me every step of my day. THANKS!
