Round 2 sw= 175.4 ew= 173.2
Round 3 sw= 172.6 ew = didn't weigh
Round 4 sw= 177.8 ew= 174
Just trying to be healthy. Weight loss is an extra bonus.
Eventual weight goal = 164
12/18 - 174.8. I can't believe we're even posting on a weight loss site on Christmas week! I'm gonna treat myself to one full cupcake, donut, big cookie, or ? As soon as I decide which one. Other than that, my Christmas extras will be mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, lots of French fried onions straight from the bag while I'm making the green bean casserole. Hopefully I won't backslide much. Just 10 more pounds. I know I can. I know I can.
12/19 - 174.4 ate well, slightly over goal, no walk, slept 8+hours
12/20 - 176.4 had my Xmas treat. Braum's sundae. 😴. No walk,too cold.

SW RND 245 DECEMBER 18TH -27TH
12/18 295.4 Well, I started my day off with a glass of orange juice and two pieces of bacon, but during lunch, I had some mozz sticks so didn't do so well with that. And then when I got home I had a snack cake. I also had soda and didn't go for my walk... Hopefully, I will be a bit stronger the rest of the evening and rest of week as well, thank you all for your support!
12/19 293.4 Happy to see the scales went down but unfortunately I ate pizza and still didn't go for my walk plus had to much soda.
12/20 294.0 Hoping today I will have a bit more self control...

@deepwoodslady Thank you. I don’t know about talent. I have a good eye, and was determined to learn. I make lots of booboos, but of course I don’t highlight those! 😊 I agree about the yarn, and it’s even nicer in person, with warm brown undertones. Makes me think of autumn leaves and a roaring fire in the fireplace. 🔥2

🎄🎁Just 10 more days 🎁🎄
I’m a 65 year young gal working on getting rid of those last 8 pounds. Last go-around I managed to stay mostly in the 137 range, but bounced back into the 138’s for the final weigh in. This round I would like to flirt with the 136 number, even if I end in the 137’s. Here we go! We got this!

My round 3!
5'9 F
I'm starting to learn that my loss will be quite slow. For reference, my senior year of HS I went from 185 to ~165 in about 3 months. I wasn't working out at the time so it was all diet. I maintained this weight +/- a few pounds during college just due to the amount of walking required daily (easily 12k+).
After graduating I've fluctuated a bit, but starting senior year of college I became very consistent at the gym doing weights. 5+ years later I've now gained a lot more muscle so naturally my weight has increased. My 185 now looks a lot different than 10 years ago, but I could still stand to lose some excess fat.
It seems to be a much slower journey and I'm not really sure what my end goal weight should be exactly, but I think these 10 day rounds help me accept the small wins and focus on the journey instead of hoping for a big loss like 20lbs again (which may or may not happen)

12/20 183.1 Almost back to my round SW. Didn't get my workout in yesterday since I was running around getting gifts/wrapping done. Will prioritize it today. I need to start getting groceries for Christmas dinner and pick out which appetizer we'll make for Christmas Eve (since the extended family has grown to 30 people, we've opted for just potluck appetizers for Xmas Eve). Any favorite healthy appetizers?

Thrilled to be in my fourth Round. I haven't been this long in an eating routine in many years. Not sure why this is working for me. I know that Carbs are my weak point, so I have designed an eating plan that avoids or minimizes them. I try to shop for my plan daily at the same time. Holidays treats surround me. I am avoiding the places that will get me in trouble (staff lounge). This round I am adding water and tracking it. I may be a little dehydrated. Let's find out. Nothing changes if nothing changes.

I am eating less overall. Tested positive for Covid on 12/17. Stomach not right overall and appetite for healthy things like fruits, veggies, and lean proteins just not there. Sense of taste and smell seems like it might be coming back. Back to work yesterday and doc advised to wear a mask. Bed early and hydration. Weird not having a sense of taste this time of year! Hey hopefully it works in my favor. Not pushing any exercise other than work (school nurse).9 -
@deepwoodslady I like your scratch off idea! I am going to try that!

@sportyforty I wish I could take credit for it but I borrowed the idea from someone else. Lots of us are using it so feel free!3 -

12/18~ Day 11 -227 ~ Ugh! Today, I chose wrong, change is needed.
~ Today was not a good day. Excuses aside, I ate poorly, didn’t exercise, and didn’t plan which was the goal I have for this round. Ugh! Plan for tomorrow!
12/19~ Day 12 -227 Almost forgot to log in.
~ Well, the scale isn’t moving much, but it is early in round 2 so I’ll give myself some grace. Kept the basics in check, and met my goals. Ready for sleep.
12/20~ Day 13 -230 ~What the heck?
~This is frustrating and why I normally quit. 13 days and I’m back where I started. But as usual, when I have an upset, I sabotage myself tonight by going over the calories for the 1st time in 13 days. Well, hopefully, I learn from the error and figure out what is keeping me from losing weight. I guess more effort is needed.

65 yrs young F, 5ft 4 Round 245 (my 175th). Thank you @quiltingjaine for the new round, as always, so grateful.
Goals for this round to, stay strong over the festive period, holiday abroad (20 days!).Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, it’s taken me 75 rounds to achieve target of 130 = back to maintenance!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back to around 134. A healthy lifestyle must be a permanent way of life.

12/18 141- went to see Santa with little DGDs in Dudley Tunnels, had lunch there, didn't choose 100% wisely, but was full for the rest of the day so only fruit later.
12/19 140.6 – 8.14 miles walked, 45% of exercise calories eaten back.
12/20 138.8 – pleased to see this number, it was our Christmas lunch yesterday for my DSs & a couple of FF, a real lovely girlie festive time. We all had a carvery choice was large, medium, or small; my NSV I chose small and was very selective with my veggies, had a glass of wine instead of a sweet, felt really satisfied. Only ate fruit in the evening, didn’t need anything else. 6.56 miles walked, all exercises calories plus 346 eaten.
12/21 140.4 – 10.85 miles yesterday, 80% exercise calories eaten back.

I am proud of being able to have a serving and leave it alone on the last batch i made 🏆With just another week till Xmas I'm going to do my best this round to eat well until Xmas Eve-Eve. After that, pray for me 😂 I am planning to do the same as Thanksgiving and have a non-traditional meal that won't be hanging around the house for days. I'm not terribly worried about having some extra calories around the holidays and am pretty confident i will meet my HealthyWage goal, although the timing of the end of the challenge is raising the stakes a little.

Yesterday: ✅macros & 1055 cal, 🚶♀️6.2k, 103 ex min, 1022 ex cal 🔥, 💗Z2 16min. 🚫🏋️♀️🤸🏼
I played🎾 singles (A big deal in itself, 65… vs a 48-year-old youngster) & when over I decided not to pursue 🏋️♀️🤸🏼. My heart rate was up a good bit, so I thought it would be wise to limit any further activity, until FAST was completed.
I thought about food continuously from noon-3pm. I researched the difference between 48hr & 72hr fast and there is little difference… I had almost convinced myself to eat some scrambled eggs, but then I was running late to pick up my DGS from school. And because I was busy, I just decided what the heck just do 72 hrs. Goal accomplished! 🥩 &🥚🥚for dinner @6pm! YUM.
Today: Definitely 🚶♀️🤸🏼🏋️♀️. Eat lots of protein. Feel AWESOME. And yes, fasting is about your mind/will power. It’s not all hunger.
➡️Thoughts become
➡️ Emotions become
➡️ Actions.
Stop negative thoughts (& excuses & rationalizations) & winning becomes reality. I have a choice.Do hard stuff. . .
(Confession, ⬆️ this is an affirmation … I must say it over & & over & OVER again for it to become real!)😊
Setting a goal and completing the goal gives me BIG confidence. I’ll have a pep in my step today. 😎

Yesterday: 💯lazy day. ✅macros & 1438 cal.
Today: 💪🏻🚶♀️🤸🏼🏋️♀️
I’m up a little because I’m off routine. Ok. Rational. Last night I decided to start fast @ 6pm. I felt terrific after that last fast and spent some time researching last night as to what happens to your body at 24, 48, and 72hrs - planning for 72. Pumped! Water, black coffee, electrolytes and grass-fed beef bone broth. 💪🏻

Yesterday: ✅macros & 90 cal of bone broth, 🚶♀️3.9k, 🚫ex min, 🚫 ex cal 🔥, 🚫💗Z2 min, 🚫🏋️♀️, 🤸🏼
Woke up at 3:50! 🙃😳 Good Morning! Yes, scale is less but was expected. I’m fasting to reset ketosis & recharge /reboot. I’m hoping 130 will one day be my lean & mean ceiling!☺️
Because I spontaneously opted to fast, I also opted to remain sedentary yesterday. I did end up doing a lot of work around the house. I only counted 🚶♀️. After 6 PM, (24hrs) I had 2 cups of bone broth over a couple of hours, drank tons of water & electrolytes.
Going on 36 hrs as I write this … I feel really good this morn. No hunger pains yesterday, (because I kept drinking… ) And I was super busy. I had tons of energy. No headaches. Peed all day. 😎. Hoping it goes as well today.
I had another business meeting yesterday … I’ve been approached to take on a hefty project (in my profession). Yesterday was my third meeting in 10 days, and I’m strongly considering saying yes… With each day that passes, I’m becoming a little more excited about the opportunity. Ill have the flexibility to continue to pick up DS from school, as well as play 🎾 in the morning a few days a week… and will also figure out how to 🚶♀️&🏋️♀️🤸🏼on a regular basis. The project would last six months… It’s actually too good to be true. So we will see! It’s been five years since retiring … would certainly be a wild & adventures ride cuzz I feel quite unprepared. We will meet once more after the holidays to solidify any arrangement … 🤞🏻!
Today: 🎾 🚶♀️and some 🤸🏼 - let’s see! Not sure about stamina but will try. I can always stop. ’ll be fine this morning but I’m prepared for a little waiver-ing between noon and 2pm…. 💪🏻
Note: TBH, For some reason, fasting is easier for me than I thought it would be. This is only my second go round. I find it much easier to just say no then it is to plan food/figure out what to eat…. It’s a competition with myself. Once I did the research & learned of the long list of positive benefits… It was a no-brainer for me personally. I once truly believed fasting was for WHACKOS 😎. Yesterday: ✅macros & 80 cal, 🚶♀️8.2k, 122 ex min, 1284 ex cal 🔥, 💗Z2 18 min, included some 🏋️♀️&🤸🏼.
When I first started playing tennis, I could feel the effects of the fast with an elevated heart rate, but then I played through it… so I decided to take it easy on ST 🏋️♀️. Fully wiped out when I got home. Nice visit with my DGS. Rested and vegged out the rest of the night.
⚖️ 128.4 That’s the fast and my body rebooting … will prol be 129-130 tomorrow. After today, I have to really buckle down on
🚶♀️🤸🏼🏋️♀️.
Fast: Boy, was I hungry yesterday! 2pm till bed…. Drank electrolytes & bone broth. No headache. Feel great this morn. 12 more hours. Playing tennis today. Feeling like I have to take it easy, but I may have a burst of energy, so let’s see! Thurs, Fri& Sat will be jammed with cooking & holiday! Will definitely get in early 🚶♀️. Some 🏋️♀️🤸🏼.

Really! Isn’t that horrible? It’s not for everyone but… If you’re thinking about it, I encourage you to read up!

Health Journey
1990 (Age 32) - Avg. 135 lbs
2001 (Age 43) - Avg 145 lbs
2010 (Age 52) HW 172 lbs
UGW = 130lbs (ceiling)
In Aug 14, 2014 @ 157lbs (down 15 from heaviest of 172lbs in 2010), I decided to take control of my health. I lost 30lbs by 1/1/2015. Weight topped @ 128-132lbs through the end of 2020. Five years!
🎢 Roller Coaster Begins….
2020 through 2021, I fluctuated 132-140 lbs.
8/1/ 2022 crept up to 142lbs.
Dropped to 128lbs again by 9/30 then held 130lbs till 1/1/23.
2023 Back ⬆️ 145lbs by July 15! 15lbs BOOM! Enjoyed eating & margaritas way too much! Ive always eaten healthy BUT portion control is/was a huge issue. Started tracking. Joined “Just give me 10 days” R231 in beginning of 8/2023. Here we are!
I learned MY choices created an emotional 🎢 roller coaster with yo-yo weight and fitness. My forever goal is to reach 130lbs as a ceiling. Pretty clear to me that once I reached a goal weight I would then relax/ drift backwards. So glad 145lbs was the max over the last nine years.
I also noticed that as I age it becomes much MUCH more difficult to lose weight. I could loose 15lbs easy in 6 to 8 weeks up to 2020ish … This is absolutely not true anymore!!!!

/yes I logged every salty or sugary bite; very little walking/
Pizza out for lunch with the whole sandwich yesterday. Sandwich you ask? My son and his wife and kids are one slice of bread. My parents are the other slice of bread. I am the meat in the middle. (In other words, I paid the tab. HA!)
Just paying it back for the parents and paying it forward for the kiddos. It’s my turn. Thankfully the kiddos are slowly growing into their adult roles. The parents on the other hand are regressing… They don’t have full blown dementia, but are showing some signs.
DW’s parents are ten years older than mine so this started ten years ago or so for us. Her folks have passed on, now it is my parent’s turn. Our siblings watch from their out-of-town locations, but seem thankful.
I am not whining, just stating the reality of our season of life for now.

In spite of my carb reading of over 200 yesterday, I managed to drop a little on the scale reading. I know these things lag a day or two so I will put away the confetti for now.
My wife does 95% of the meal prep around our house, for which I am very grateful. ( I do my own breakfast and all of the outdoor cooking.) Her meal planning is VERY good, but her goal is not exclusively-low-carb. Her goal is balance. When I break the bank on my daily carbs, I have a tendency to blame her. (Isn’t that silly?) I recognize, in my better moments of cognitive thought, it is NOT her fault when I carbo-load. I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH PORTION CONTROL. As I look to the left and to the right I realize I have no one to blame but @_JeffreyD_ .
Working on knowing when to say “when.”

/logged food; very little dedicated exercise, but a lot of functional movement while preparing to travel/
In the midst of organized chaos here. Getting ready for a trip to warmer climes. Part of that involves clearing out the fridge… One of my favorite pass-times.
I will be away from home for a few short weeks, but hope to find room in the truck for my scale. If not, I will still check in here to keep you informed of my NSV’s and to hear about you. I took the scale with me last year and it was a nice piece of unused furniture. I was 10LB+ lighter last year. I wasn’t going to let a bathroom scale ruin my fun. I had just retired from a stressful profession, so maybe I let my hair down a bit too much. I now observe that my food/exercise discipline is better when I have other disciplined routines (like work) to tag long.
My head is in a different place this year. I will try to keep track of it.
12/17: 224.4

/logged a lot of calories and carbs; group exercise/
Very surprised by the scale reading this morning. I will take it. I have a mine field to navigate this evening. My ”former” office has invited me back for the office Christmas party.
I get up early to travel tomorrow morning, so my morning routine will be upset a bit. The next couple days will be spotty check-in for me.

Went to Giant and bought our Christmas dinner. Focusing on a little less decadent sides, and more on delicious, yet simpler sides. It will still be special! Getting so excited for the holidays. I skipped the cookie swap this year and so glad for that. I will be making PB Blossoms on Sunday though! I don’t have a sense of taste back yet!9 -

Sometimes wine really hits me hard (like last night/today) and sometimes it doesn't. I got unlucky this time around. Water was at 80oz and I drank it with dinner so not on an empty stomach. Oh well. Still very sore in my legs/glutes from Tuesday's strength workout. It is raining right now so I may walk on my walking pad and plan to take the dogs before lunch since it's supposed to rain again right around the end of lunchtime. Low carb day so I'll be making both BF and I lunch and I'd rather go BEFORE so I don't accidentally end up in the rain haha

Previous Day's Comments12/18 - Had a giant jump up due to salt and water retention yesterday for my round end weight. Quite alright since it was also normal eating day Saturday and we had Fam over. Haven't seen them in nearly a month and won't see them again until the New Year. Oof! It was nice to see them though and I'll accept the weight from that little get together. Yesterday was a low carb day and I obviously dropped right back down. Today is normal eating day with a run planned once it gets light enough. Hoping to keep mindful and intuitive about my eating choices. I can see changes in normal eating habits happening already so that's really good (: I need to lower my "normal" eating day carb intake in general anyway. Also need to slim down my portions, I certainly eat too large of portions more often than not. Here's to continuing this journey with all of you!
12/19 - I stayed stagnant after a "normal" eating day! Whoohoo! I was, honestly, trying to be mindful of my eating and did really well until I had to unexpectedly work late. I was late coming to the dinner table to eat and grabbed a soda to help wash food down rather than taking the extra time to refill my water bottle. Oh well. I think I ended up only drinking 1/4 of the soda and poured the rest out so I could have herbal tea instead once I finished up with work. I ended up at 120 carbs for the day. I was hoping to stay under 100 but that soda did me in. Plus BF (who had to cook sides - usually my job) had corn and mashed potatoes as sides - carb loading much? Today I'm going to try for a quick strength workout - probably just bodyweight like pushups and squats, planks and lunges. I'll walk the dogs. Thinking of walking them over lunch like I did yesterday. It was much nicer out (read: warmer and sunnier) and it was a very much needed mental break from work. We shall see how today goes, work-wise. Club sandwich on lettuce for lunch, keto white chicken enchiladas for Taco Tuesday dinner. Breakfast I'm thinking I'll make a ham, egg, cheese sandwich on lettuce if I need to eat before lunch.
12/20 - I'm calling that maintenance. Although I was hoping to see another drop after a low carb day, I'm happy with that. Getting out of bed this morning I nearly fell - my legs are super sore! I guess my strength workout (which didn't feel terribly challenging at the time) was more impactful than I realized for my muscles. Dinner was also full of dairy and I forgot to take my lactose pills. Between the soreness and dairy, I'm surprised I'm not up! Hopefully that means, if I behave today, I'll see a drop in the coming days. Today's run is 10 min jog warmup then 5 rounds of strides (30 second increasing speed run, 1.5 min walk). Still have some beef stew I thawed out for lunch and dinner is homemade Salisbury steak with mashed potatoes and green beans. Still keeping an eye on carbs - "normal" days I'm still aiming for around 100g but under 150g net so I don't go overboard. As long as I keep snacking under control, I should meet that goal. I was at 120g net carbs on Monday and that involved a lot of boredom snacking.

I'm Julie. 35 years old. Married. SAHM to two year old twins.
SW RND 245: 135.6 (end of last round).
12/18: 136.1. Oops, not starting off in the right direction. I started baking the Christmas cookies. I may have sampled a few too many. I also didn't go to the gym because my husband worked late. I went for a short walk, but nothing big.
12/19: 139.1. Holiday eating has arrived. Baked more Christmas cookies. I know I didn't gain 3 pounds of fat over night. I'm not going to stress about it until after Christmas. I'll be up some, but no real damage I won't be able to undo in the next round.
12/20: 138.0. I felt kinda sick most of yesterday. Just did a short walk. Eating wasnt great. But that's okay for now.
12/21: 136.2.

RND 245 – My Journey - Whatever you are not changing, you are choosing. Read that again!
Round 2: Planning: deciding in advance what to do, how to do it, when to do it, and who should do it.
F, 67, 5’4"… SW-231 * UGW-149 – Estimated at the end of Round 284, My 40th round.
12/18~ Day 11 -227 ~ Ugh! Today, I chose wrong, change is needed.
~ Today was not a good day. Excuses aside, I ate poorly, didn’t exercise, and didn’t plan which was the goal I had for this round.
12/21~ Day 14 -225.3 ~ That’s it, I need a new scale!
~ I woke up and weighed, It’s a miracle. Ha! So, I weigh something, but what? I will keep up with the plan until the new scale arrives and hopefully, it will be correct.

12/19 -179.2- (Trend weight 179.7)
12/20 -179.2- (Trend weight 179.7) No change today on the scale and that is a Modern Miracle! I had a great day yesterday but last night was horrid! Very late eating with an early weigh-in this morning due to handyman. I can call last night nothing less than a binge. I am so sorry for it and so ashamed and disappointed. I know it will probably show up on the scale in a day or two. All I can do is move on and do better. I owe myself more than that. It was a great day with super healthy foods. Why did I have to go and ruin it? My only theory is that I am getting ready in a few days to go out of town for my A1C blood glucose diabetes test and I am beginning to self-sabotage. Stop it Donna!
12/21 -178.8- (Trend weight 179.6) I had such a good day yesterday that I thought the scale would be down a bit more than what it is. Then I remembered my indulgences this past week and I know it can take a couple of days to catch up, so this weight is probably fair. I need to start baking soon but I know I’m not strong enough to stay away from sugar. I cheat that right now by not having it in the house and minimizing access to it. Otherwise, I’ve learned nothing. Well….maybe I’ve learned things, I know the disadvantages of sugar, especially as a T2D. But none of that seems to matter when I suddenly have it in front of me. I suppose it could be worse than cookies and fudge. It could be donuts, my #1 weakness. The only thing better than a donut is a kringle and I don’t have access to those in my little rural town. I have to travel for that.
