@trooworld I like the glasses. Good luck with the garbage disposal. I’m sure you enjoyed your chat with your friend. I hope you get the walking pad up. @cbabie That was good restraint on eating only one slice of pizza. I know you are glad to have a day off tomorrow. Hopefully sickness will leave your house. Hi, all. DH broke my favorite Starbucks mug this morning. I know it was an accident but I was bummed. I wasn’t going to replace it but DH said if I didn’t buy one he’d buy me one himself. We went for a walk after breakfast and it wasn’t too cold. We were wrapped up and the sun was out. I’m going to do a workout on my bike. My son is making tomato soup with fresh tomatoes I got at Sam’s Club. ATK recipe, of course. We eat at my daughter’s house tonight. I don’t know what she is preparing but I am sure it will be good.

@trooworld When I first read your post about the recipe my brain registered Goat cheese and cookie and I thought yuck. Gross! Then went back and reread it. lol Yaaay on your 1/2 lb loss Hope you feel better. I kept pumping Dayquil down hubby. But had to keep reminding him do NOT take Tynelol with it. He seems better today cause he's aggravating me. lol Fingers crossed I don't get it. Cute glasses. I like the color.

@cbabie Put the leftover goodies in the garbage and spray windex on them. it's been 3 weeks now. Yes the family will yell and complain but they'll get over it. Germs like to latch onto unhealthy bodies. The healthy foods keeps our immunities high. Claritin never works for me. But then I don't have allergies, knock on wood. Mom had no social graces. lol I have had a couple of friends have knee replacement surgery and I'm always after them to keep doing their exercises at home other wise they will end up like dad.

@fabgeekmom I still haven't made the chana masala yet. I guess yours was good if you ate the leftovers. I bet it was better second day. Interesting on nuking the fruit. I usually just add stevia to the strawberries. I'll try that.

@theslightedgeforever I’m glad hubby is better. I hope you don’t get his cold. Yes, husbands can get on our nerves. LOL! I put several servings of the Chana Masala in the freezer. It’ll be good for a meal when I don’t feel like cooking.

@trooworld Nice looking poop bag! Too bad about DH not helping you. Hi, all! It’s cold here! 40 degrees! DH and I are going walking after breakfast. I have a long coat I bought a few years ago. Hat, gloves, etc. last night we had Skinnytaste cheeseburger soup and garlic sticks. The recipe is online. We need to go grocery shopping today. Tonight we are having burgers and fries. Tomorrow we’re having chicken shawarma from the NYT app. Later in the week is chicken soup and salmon over rice (NYT). That is two separate meals.

Morning all, It's still cold here and I need to make myself take the baby for a walk, I just hate the cold. My daughter is home from school today, so maybe she will keep baby entertained and I can get some things done. LOL. Baby didn't sleep all through the night and is up really early this morning, so I am hoping he takes an early and late nap? LOL

@trooworld I love that bag, so cute. Are you like my mom and you don't need a pattern, it's in your head? So sorry about DH, I on the other hand that lives with someone who goes behind you or sometimes while your drinking it and empties it and puts it in the dishwasher...or like yesterday I had to tell him not to clean baby girls room there was only so much time allotted to play and he had better use it to play. LOL. I did get my groceries bought and meals planned, they may not be best lean wise, but they are all in the crockpot. LOL

@theslightedgeforever well most of the "goodies" are gone, but GD asked me to make peanut butter fudge, I told her no not tonight and her mom said..ok not tonight, but sometime this week? SMH... She says it's as good as what she buys in the fudge stores and I should make it and sell it. LOL

@fabgeekmom The tomato soup sounds yummy. I love tomato soup. I live with a few people who are carnivores and we have to have meat all the time. I forgot to buy ground turkey yesterday and am bummed. I was wanting to make my breakfast burritos and freeze them. Oh well later this week. I bet you will love whatever your DD cooks for you. Sounds like she had a good role model. LOL

@fabgeekmom Good idea about freezing the leftovers. I have some stuff in there. I think I need to start labeling again. I love chicken shawarma. Beef/lamb also.

@trooworld Yeah, the honey-do list. Mine was waiting for retirement and here we are. I guess now we are waiting on death. If mine comes first I won't have to worry about it anymore. lol Is there anything you can do on setting up the walking pad? So if you at least get it started, he will come and help finish it. I'm over here chuckling because I was reading about toilets and then poop bags and then I realize they are for the dogs not you. :D I kept thinking why is she carrying around her poop?

@cbabie Do you have any of those thin long underwear they make now? The new materials really keep you warmer even though thinner. Or layer, layer, layer. Plus carry some sugar free hot chocolate. How old is baby now? He might only need one nap now so he'll sleep longer through the night. Teach GD to make it as good as you and then she can make it and sell it. You know the old saying of teaching the man to fish. I love tomato soup too. With some nice grilled cheese. Comfort food for the winter.

My exercise has been nil. I just want to sit and do nothing. I did organize my closet by color though. Evidently I keep buying variations of long sleeved black tops/sweaters.

@cbabie I hope you got stuff done yesterday. Hopefully baby took a nap. I remember those days. My men folk are also carnivores. @theslightestedgeforever Good job on organizing the closet. Maybe a little exercise next? @trooworld Too funny about the bag! And your friend is so unreliable. Glad you enjoyed the visit. And you got a lot done. The Greek baked orzo sounds good. Hi, all. My walk yesterday wasn’t too bad. DH and I went to Starbucks and found out that they don’t sell ceramic mugs anymore. My son said Target might have some. We also went grocery shopping. My cousin came over and we visited for a while. She brought my DH some food she made so he could have something different when we make something he doesn’t like. Today is a swim day.

@trooworld Glad we got the poop bag thing cleared up. I like the material on the bag you showed us. Ooh I hate the waiting game. Although it's a good time to get stuff done because you suddenly have an "open" slot in your schedule you didn't think you would have. I'm trying to learn to be flexible with my schedule. In lots of ways I'm all or nothing on it. I'm learning to say I may not finish but I can get started.

@fabgeekmom Yes on the exercise. I thought yesterday was just a do nothing lazy day. Really I think it was the beginning of me getting sick. Last night I was feverish and today I've had a headache and no energy despite me taking meds. I need to take my own advice on exercise like on schedules....."In lots of ways I'm all or nothing on it. I'm learning to say I may not finish but I can get started." Commit to 5 min no matter how bad I feel. It won't kill me. Maybe the accomplishment will help me feel good. Wow on the ceramic mugs. Are they going to "bring your own"? I have heard lots of coffee houses are going to that. I like to look at the ceramic mugs at Caribou Coffee but never buy because I have no room.

I haven't cooked in two days. I told them they are on their own. Still waiting to make that Chana Masala. (it's been so long now I might be making up the name. lol)

@theslightestedgeforever When you are sick you get an exercise pass. But 5 minutes is a good start. It sounds like you went on a cooking strike. LOL. So what is everyone eating? My family is not worried as I have to eat. And my son helps with the cooking. I seldom buy coffee at coffee houses as I can make it better. I like a tall mug with room for coffee and frothed almond milk. I have one that will work. Feel better, soon.

Morning all, in a bit of a rush. I have a hair appointment in 45 min. I cooked chicken Santa Fe last night, the people who ate it said it was good. Tonight I am going on strike and they get spaghetti. I did stretches yesterday and realized I am a body in KNOTS.....LOL

@trooworld I would be upset too, I HATE the waiting game. My GD plays that and I tell her after a bit..sorry I am busy now. LOL

@theslightedgeforever I am sorry you are not feeling well..I have actually not had to cough or sneeze for a bit..YEA!!!! It's going to be nicer the end of this week, so will try to go for a walk to get back into the routine.

@fabgeekmom that was nice of your cousin. Good for you for taking a break. Yes black is one of my favorite colors..LOL

@fabgeekmom It wasn't so much a strike as I don't feel well enough to cook, you are on your own. Yesterday they had Chinese food delivered. I like to go once a week to a cafe and go read for an hour. I usually do self-help books then so I can take notes and ponder. Then every other day or so I make myself an iced coffee at home. Sometimes at Caribou I get an iced tea with 1/2 shot of sf vanilla.

@trooworld I was laying in bed reading. Or sitting in my chair reading. lol What is in the Wedding Soup?

@cbabie That's good that you are trying different recipes

Well I exercised for 15 min but that was about all I could do. Either I'm really out of shape or my body is just tired. maybe both. I did one YouTube video that I swear was advanced. She had no warm up or cool down. I couldn't keep the pace up so I switched to another one. But I moved my body. I'll try for 20 tomorrow.

@theslightedgeforever Not feeling well is a good reason not to cook. I hope you are feeling better. Good job on the exercise. @cbabie I’m glad everyone liked the chicken recipe. Spaghetti is a good choice. @trooworld I have made the wedding soup and it is good. The Asian meatballs sound good. Hi, all. It is cold here! Now a balmy 34. It was in the 20’s this morning. I had a yearly doctor’s appointment this morning. The office was freezing as they were having heating problems. But all was well and I lost 10 pounds since last year. So I am at a healthy BMI. I’m trying not to gain any, just staying the course. Lunch today was leftover chicken with vegetables and broth. Very filling and hearty. I’m late in doing exercise so I’ll get on my bike.

Morning all, I didn't exercise yesterday, just didn't seem to have time. I was chasing the baby all over the house. He is just INTO everything...he is one of those you say no, he looks at you and grins and goes right for it. So I made something not healthy at all yesterday, but I only had a bite of it to see how it was. It was a chocolate cake mix, butter, eggs, water, and wait for it....MINI PEANUT BUTTER CUPS in the batter. put in the crock pot cook, when done, top with...wait for it..melted peanut butter and powered sugar and crumbled mini peanut butter cups.... LOL I just had to try it.

@trooworld so sorry you started the day with a headache. Oh anything that changes is always chaos in the beginning, hopefully the bugs are all worked out and you have a calm day.

@fabgeekmom YEAH for you losing 10 lbs, that would be my goal for my next appointment..great job on learning how to maintain it. I think Dr office's are always cold...no germs can live in the cold. LOL

@theslightedgeforever I hope you feel better quickly, but don't tell anyone you do and let them see how hard it is to come up with meals. LOL. Yea for you trying to move...good job.

@cbabie Running after the baby is exercise! That dessert sounds heavenly. My family would go for it. @trooworld Too bad about work problems and the headache. The flounder sounds good. Skinnytaste has a recipe online for Marry Me Chicken that looks good. The NYT recipe has about 700 calories. Ouch! Hi, all. Still cold here. My son is off today and is making chicken noodle soup for a late lunch. Today is a swim day.

@fabgeekmom What a great accomplishment on the drs scale. You are our roadmap to better health.

@trooworld Thank you for the recipe.

@cbabie I'm chuckling because prior to reading your post I was reading about flounder and broccoli and as I was scrolling I saw your post that had words like powdered sugar and PB mini cups. Good on you for only having a taste but unless it's all gone you might end up caving in to another taste or more. So what made you decide to cook and fix this versus a different recipe? I'm thinking about mindset right now. The problem with letting the family come up with meals is that they won't order anything healthy and then I eat it. That doesn't help me with one of my 2024 goals. So I'll be making some soup tomorrow. Now I have two good recipes to choose from.

@trooworld Good job on the weight loss. It stinks that your DH is sabotaging you. My son occasionally uses more fat than I would like but it’s part of a recipe and I make allowances during the day for the extra calories. Hi, all. Soup yesterday was good and hearty. I didn’t eat any snacks afterwards so I ate a sandwich, chips and chocolate covered Oreos for dinner. After breakfast I cut up some celery and carrots and added them to 2 chicken breasts and broth to simmer. I am going to add that to the soup my son made yesterday to have more protein and vegetables. I am staying home today as it is cold. Luckily I have the recumbent bike. Dinner is steak, baked potatoes and roasted green beans with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper.

Morning all, I went for a walk, but really didn't get to exercise. Baby is only sleeping at 2 hours, 4 hours. at night. Then it's a race like this morning..he has been up since 5:30...it would be ok I guess if I didn't have a 5 year old to get off to school. LOL. So I am going for my eye exam here in a few min. I think my eyes have changed, but I could be wrong. LOL Could just be tired eyes. I made potato soup last night, not diet friendly but good. Today it's chicken and dumplings. I will just have one dumpling. It's just to have a taste right?

@trooworld I wish my DH would cook, but I am happy he helps with the baby. I laughed about staying with the recipe...glad your headache went away!!! Yea on the loss!!! great job! {It's mindset} it really does help us.

@fabgeekmom YUM I love chicken noodle!! I don't know how I could go swimming for exercise..my mind says it's too COLD...I know excuses excuses.. :)

@theslightedgeforever Yes it's not gone, but I will be throwing it away as not to tempt me if they don't eat it tonight. I bought some recipes from someone I follow for the slow cooker, she makes the meals for like 2 months, gives you the grocery list, etc. I have had it for a year, but this time I was in such a state, I just decided to make whatever she said for the week so I could use her grocery list to get food. That was the desert for the week...so that's how I made the choice. There isn't a recipe that someone here has said...don't make that again...her's are just not always "lean" friendly. I laughed, they would "order food". not cook it. I know why you have to cook, same here.

@cbabie It’s good you went for a walk. Baby not sleeping really drags you down. It’s cold outside but the water is warm. I couldn’t do without my swim. It’s good that you are cooking. I would definitely throw away the dessert unless everyone else was eating it. There is homemade bread on the counter that I am not eating. It’s probably stale. I won’t throw it away until my son says it’s okay.

Morning all, need to get on here before everyone wakes up. I was so tired last night, didn't even wash my face, just told everyone wake me up when the baby wakes up and went to bed. I have lots of "housework" to do today and need to get my meal planning done. Exercise is such a hard thing to work in...I have to though to get my body healthy. I just saw a calendar reminder and I can't believe my DH will be 68 in a few days. I never thought we would be in that "old" category. Both my parents died in their 70's and I am just not there in my head, so I have to work on this body.

@fabgeekmom Yes I have the loaf of bread that probably needs throw away today too! LOL I have not eaten any of that. I know once I start I won't stop. The cake goes today too, I got into it last night, (comfort food) and that wasn't good...so bye bye cake and never make again. LOL

@cbabie I threw the bread away yesterday as my son told me I could. It’s good you went to bed early. Sleep is so important. Meal planning will help so cooking healthy is not so hard. Living a healthy lifestyle is important for all ages, especially those of us who are older. Years ago my son told DH and me that we were elderly. I said, no way and then googled it. Yep, we are elderly. @trooworld Sorry about the headache. Good job in prepping the chicken and beef. The zoo was lots of fun in San Diego. Have fun! Hi, all. We have another cold day. We’re going swimming and eating more of the soup for lunch. I’m going to freeze it tomorrow after lunch. Tonight we are eating at a local Italian restaurant. I’m looking forward to my manicotti.

@fabgeekmom I made the chana masala. It was really good. I added a side of white rice to it. I'll post a pic later. My phone is upstairs and I'm too lazy to go get it. Yummy manicotti.

@trooworld Every time one of you types Marry Me Chicken I hear J-Lo singing that Marry Me song. I loved that movie. Woohoo on the big weight loss. Keep doing what you are doing.

@cbabie I think it would be too cold for you to swim in your outdoor pool during the winter. That's good that you got outside and moved your body. How could you start tweaking that lady's recipes to make them "lean". Although depending on what type of food plan you follow would be how you make tweaks. Someone following a keto plan would be different than a low-fat plan, or a reduced sugar plan or a calorie based plan. What would be okay for me to eat on a carb cycling plan is not necessarily okay to eat for a points based plan. Right now I'm double tracking to see which way do I want to go.

@gemwolf110 Your meal looks good. Nice and healthy. I've been social this weekend. A baby shower on Friday and then met up with some gals for coffee yesterday and then today grocery shopping cause I didn't do it yesterday.

@fabgeekmom I think my dad would have liked that Father Brown show.

@trooworld The soup looks delicious. Wintertime was made for soups. I love the zoo pics. Now after reading my bookclub book about giraffes heading to the San Diego zoo. I'd like to go there one day. I didn't have enough time the last time I was there. The movie was called Marry Me starring J-Lo and Owen Wilson. Rom-com I love the soundtrack though.

@trooworld I loved the zoo pics! I showed them to DH. He said he had heard of the cub and dog. The soup looked good. Good for you for donating blood. I have had 2 blood transfusions in the last 10 years due to a blood disorder I have. Now it’s controlled with medication. @theslightedgeforever The Chana masala looks good. My son and I are having that for lunch. He’s having rice and I am having cauliflower rice. Hi, all. I ate a late breakfast this morning. My son brought the fixings for an omelet with onions and mushrooms topped with lox and reduced fat feta. It was so good. We went grocery shopping and bought stuff for the week. My daughter is preparing roast chicken, air fried sweet potatoes and kale for dinner. My son is making apple crumble from ATK. Luckily I have calories earned from a 45 minute bike ride.

@fabgeekmom I always forget about substituting cauliflower rice unless I'm purposely making cheesy cauliflower rice. I like feta and spinach in an omelette.

@trooworld Yes, the soup was filling. Good comfort food. Your pasta sounds good.

@gemwolf110 I saw you lost some weight. Woohoo

Mall walking was the flavor of the day. Almost 30 min. Food was in boundaries and I think I'm going to probably end up just going back to carb cycling. I'm always over on points but I've been at/under on my carbs.

@trooworld That pasta dish looks good. I think it could serve 6 so calories would be less. Did you use the cured pork jowls or pancetta? @theslightestedgeforever Walking the mall is good exercise! Especially in the winter. Carb cycling sounds like a good fit for you. The best diet plan is the one you’ll stay on. Hi, all. I had leftover chopped onions and mushrooms so I made omelets again. This time I left out the lox and added sun dried tomatoes not in oil. DH and I went swimming. Now I am sitting in my favorite chair in front of a sunny window, drinking hot tea.
