@trooworld Yes, my mom is doing really well. She is very much an introvert, but she loves going to church and her health is really good, so we are all thankful for that. Yayyy on the negative Covid test but yikes on getting dizzy and falling over! :o Those rolls look amazing! Good for you for not giving up on making them. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family. <3

@gemwolf110 Your little baby is soooo cute!! I wish I had started putting clothes on my Maggie Mae when she was little. There is no way she would let me do that now. And I would totally have you over for Thanksgiving dinner too! <3:grin:

@theslightedgeforever My balanced eating is going OK, but the scale would say I’m failing miserably. I’m cutting myself some slack for the next couple of days. I do know that before the New Year gets here, I need to get myself back into the losing mindset and cut out all the excuses. Or I will never see a goal weight! How are you doing with your eating? :)

@stephonww You have to do what works for you and for some counting points isn’t the right thing. The good thing about WW is that it will help you learn to make healthier choices, so maybe focus on that while you still have a membership with them. :)

@cbabie I hope you are doing OK? <3

Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving! My poor DH came down with a head cold yesterday. Right now, he doesn’t have any symptoms other than a whole lot of sneezing, but I’m keeping a close eye on him. His PET scan went well yesterday, and he has his biopsy scheduled for Dec. 6th. I’m sure we won’t know any results until after that is done. So, in the meantime, we will spend the day relaxing and eating yummy food. This evening we will watch the National Dog Show and I’ll drink more wine!!

@TeresaW1020 Oh that is great about your mom doing so well. I'm glad she has activities she enjoys. Yeah, I don't know if I just have a case of vertigo or what is going on? The rolls were great! Thank you, I did have a wonderful day yesterday. I hope you did, too. Oh gosh, your poor husband! What a day to get sick on. I watched the National Dog Show yesterday. I hope you enjoyed the day.

    @theslightedgeforever Indeed!

Hello all. I went overboard yesterday at dinner. I was so stuffed that I had to unbutton my pants. :( We took leftovers home with us but I didn't take many despite my husband's prodding. I tracked almost everything and ate 84 pts yesterday. I only get 18 a day. I am -32 for the week. But DH and I are going to go on a long walk this morning so that should help a bit. I hope you all had a good day yesterday.

I hope everyone had a nice holiday.

@gemwolf110 OMG, what a cutie. I love the turkey post.

@stephonww I think its important that you feel successful on whatever plan you use. I don't do low-fat programs because I have to watch my carbs and I can't have low carbs and low fats and do it consistently. So I've found something that suits me. Just keep working towards Steph's plan. Keep what works and throw away what doesn't. You'll figure it out.

@trooworld Yaaay on a negative test. I was just reading about a new variant coming out of S. Africa and then Germany having almost 76000 cases in one day. Guess I won't be going to Europe anytime soon. My daughter and I have it on our bucket lists. I wonder what your dizziness is from? Do you have high blood pressure? Inner ear problems? The rolls looked yummy.

@teresaw1020 my eating: I've been a bit over my boundaries on most days this past week but I ended up losing 0.2 So back to my boundaries. I'd like to at least lose about .7 each week. At this rate I can still get to where I want to go and enjoy the journey.

OK peeps, Thanksgiving is one day not the weekend or week. So everyone back to their plans. Move your bodies. Let's lose some weight this week. Think how good you will feel losing weight on a holiday week.

Just got my blood test results: No longer pre-diabetic. Cholesterol was 143. I lowered my bad cholesterol. But also my good but I'm still above 50 so that's good. But needs work. I lowered my triglycerides.

Woohoo! Now to lower my weight.

@theslightedgeforever Oh gosh, I heard there was a new variant but I didn't hear how it was spreading so quickly. My husband and I wanted to go to Paris next year but maybe that won't happen. I don't have high blood pressure, it actually tends to run on the lower side rather than high. I don't know, maybe I had vertigo. I'm okay now. Thanks. And thanks for the reminder that Thanksgiving is one day. I've made it into 2 but it stops now. CONGRATULATIONS on no longer being pre-diabetic! What a victory!

Hi all. I was totally off track yesterday but vow to be on track today. I did go for a long walk with DH yesterday so that was good. I've pretracked half my day, I don't know what I am having for lunch so I couldn't track that. And breakfast is up in the air, too.

@theslightedgeforever that’s great that you are no longer pre-diabetic and that your cholesterol is going down as well.

@trooworld same here was off track the last two days but I did get a bunch of raking done yesterday. Did eat a meatball calzone yesterday but my body must not have liked something in it (probably a preservative) as after eating it my cheeks got red and hot. So not ordering that again. Took an allergy pill just in case and it went away eventually.

@trooworld I don't know that new variant is the one in Germany. I could be wrong though. They haven't got ahold of the other ones yet. So you've enjoyed Thanksgiving and now back to your regularly scheduled program. LOL

@gemwolf110 They look chill. Funny the differences in the dogs. Alert, half alert, relaxed Do you like raking leaves or is it just a necessary evil? I bet it burns alot of calories.

I walked with dh this morning and now my foot hurts again. So I guess I'm going to have to put our Saturday morning walk on hold until this problem goes away. I will just have to go to the gym instead.

Yup and the bichon was inside where it is warm lol 😂 and raking leaves is a necessary evil. Especially in the back as there are “surprises” from the pups.

@gemwolf110 You have such a nice big yard. The pups are looking good! Raking is great exercise. Sorry about the calzone incident. I'm glad that the allergy pill helped.

@theslightedgeforever Yes, I'm back to real life lol. That stinks about your foot. Did you go to the doc about it? I know that you saw your doc about other things and she thought it was plantar fasciitis but I think she was going to take an xray?

@cbabie Oh gosh, I'm so very sorry, cbabie. I'm glad you are having mild symptoms. I hope baby girl's symptoms are mild, too. HUGS to you, my friend. Take care and feel better.

Hi all. I did pretty well yesterday but I'll do even better today. I made a homemade salad dressing for dinner (and for this week) but then realized our lettuce was bad so I just steamed some veggies instead. I'll get lettuce today for the dressing. I spent most of yesterday trying to build my website and I thought it was working but something is not working with the images so I have to tinker around with it again today. Not what I want to do since I don't know anything about making websites and am just flying by the seat of my pants.

@gemwolf110 Ha on puppy surprises. How is your food plan working right now? Sorry about your sister.

@cbabie I'm so thankful it was mild. Soon you will be able to get out.

@trooworld Oh I thought I told you all about my xray. I have a heel spur and osteoarthritis in the tarsals. So no plantar fasciitis. But I can still exercise although walking aggravates it. Sounds like you are doing good with food. I used to love to create webpages. Partly why I got fatter. Just sat around on the computer.

I'm trying to spruce up my outdoors. I bought a firepit and some new rugs for the porch. A work in progress. Some trim needs repainting.

@theslightedgeforever Ouch I’m sorry about the diagnosis for your poor foot? Do you have a plan of action for the long term? Great news on your blood test results! Yeah, I heard about the new variant too. I figure we are going to have something from now on to stress over so we might as well just live our lives. If I could go to Europe, I would go in a heartbeat. Hubby and I have been watching a show called Arial Britain and it’s so cool and the scenery is amazing! :)

@trooworld What are you building a website for? Your art? Who are you using to host it? WordPress has the best tutorials. Isn’t it annoying how fast lettuce goes bad! :/

@cbabie I’m so sorry you and baby girl are sick. The good news is that your symptoms are mild and if you are like me, it won’t last too long and you can get back to normal. Hang in there! <3

Sorry that I haven’t been on the last few days. Life has been a bit crazy. Hubby came down with a cold and then on Friday morning, he passed out in the bathroom from being dizzy. We think it was a combo of his blood pressure meds and cold meds. He hurt his left hand and it’s all swollen and bruised. Of course, he won’t go to a doctor about it! :# Yesterday, I spent most of the day decorating the church sanctuary and cleaning it. It looks beautiful and everyone loved it. Tomorrow, mom and I are going shopping for groceries and to get stuff for the ladies' Bible study Christmas party next Saturday. I’m trying to get excited about the party, but it just seems like one more thing that I have to get done and get through. I’m also trying to get back on track with my eating. My Beachbody group on Facebook is doing a 21-day challenge starting on the first. It cost $15. Maybe that will give me some extra incentive to keep food out of my mouth!

    Good Night all!

Busy day at my job yesterday and today. Didn’t have near enough coffee for today’s shift.

@trooworld thank you! It’s definitely a huge yard. The dogs absolutely love it as does the wild rabbits that stop by. Most escape from huskies but a few haven’t been so lucky. :-( I wish I could help you with the website but I’m no help. Good luck 🍀

@theslightedgeforever Sister is doing better still not 100%. She’s planning on resting the next week to make sure she feels fully better. I bought some lunch meat (Boars Head) for lunches and cooked up some chicken to heat up for dinners. Nice! Outdoor sprucing up is awesome.

@TeresaW1020 hope he feels better soon! That’s not good. Hopefully the swelling goes down.

Time for one 💤 s and resting my foot as it was a lot of time on it and it’s kinda achy.

@theslightedgeforever I'm glad it's not plantar fasciitis but what will they do for the heel spur? I know they probably can't do anything about the osteoarthritis? I was doing good on food. More on that below. Yeah, it took me all day to create that website and I just sat there the whole day. A firepit and some new rugs sound nice. I would love to sit out there!

@TeresaW1020 Yep for my art. I am using Bluehost to host it, it's a WordPress site. I'm using Elementor to edit it. It is annoying, we have this Rubbermaid thing that helps it stay fresh longer but still, it goes bad after about 5 days. Oh gosh, that must have been so scary for that to happen to your hubby! You sound like you are really busy. Thanks for checking in with us. Maybe that challenge will help you. Good luck with that.

@gemwolf110 I need coffee to function. It's the one thing I will never run out of lol. Thanks, I think it's finally put together! Rest up.

Hi all. Well, I was doing okay but then yesterday, my BIL had to go to urgent care/ER and we don't know what is going on with him yet. We kind of ate our feelings about it. Today is a new day and I'm going to eat better.

@teresaw1020 my foot: Well lose weight I'm sure would help. Although I stepped on the scale this morning and it's up for some reason. Hopefully sodium. She suggested chondroitin glucosamine supplements. yaaay more pills. eat foods that lubricate the joints like nuts, olive oil, etc. My daughter tells me that there will always be covid variants. She says they will keep mutating, mom. Just like all the different flu strains that are out there. There's not just one. That's why they keep updating the flu shots. I agree live life; focus on today; but I also believe in taking precautions which I do. I still mask up when I'm indoors with people. I have found that wrapping lettuce in tin foil makes it last just a wee bit longer. Not much though but even a day is good. Ouch on dh's hand. I hope he's okay. They are so stubborn. Focus on the task at hand and find some time to just relax a bit if you can.

@gemwolf110 I have an achy foot today too. I'm glad I'm not the only one. Misery loves company. :) Your meal prep sounds good.

@trooworld I've looked online and they recommend ice, stretches, soaking in epsom salts, injections, cryotherapy, last resort is surgery. The top of my foot hurts worse than the bottom right now. Wrapping it seems to help. I wear compression arch supports at night. How is your bil? Next time you are tempted to eat, go write down what you are feeling. Fears, thoughts, etc.

I made some broccoli soup with grilled cheese. Probably would have done better with just the soup. I'm supposed to be on another red day but just couldn't get my head in that space. I'm not stressed or anything. Just don't know. But I chose to eat veggies and that's a good thing.

@gemwolf110 You MUST always plan to have enough coffee!!

@trooworld I am so sorry about your BIL! I sure hope that the doctors can find out what is wrong. <3 I’m sure there are lots of YouTube videos that will help you with the website. Yeah, it was scary with my hubby. It’s not the first time he has fainted like that and it’s always terrifying. He has a doctor's appointment on Friday and hopefully, his doctor will or can adjust his meds. Five days is a long time for lettuce. I only eat salad on the first three days of a grocery run. :)

@theslightedgeforever Try the supplement and see if it helps. And eating foods with healthy oils is always a good idea for joints and other parts of our bodies. Just use moderation or the scale will yell at you. I am all for people taking all the precautions they feel they need during these crazy times we live in. Personally, I don’t wear a mask and won’t unless I have no choice in the matter. I just hate it that much!

Hello! Today was another busy one. Mom and I went to Trader Joes and Walmart for groceries and things for our Christmas party luncheon on Saturday. My mom is seriously going all out on this party! Later DH and I went to Sams for church supplies and then over to Khols. He wanted to get mom something that was just from him for Christmas. We found a lovely necklace and matching earrings. She will love it! Last night, I had a terrible night of no sleep. DH had one of his famous leg cramps which took almost an hour to calm down. Hopefully tonight we both will sleep much better. Eating was ok but I did have too many peanut M&M’s thanks to mom who felt the need to share with me. :p

@theslightedgeforever I hope you can find some relief for your foot. My BIL isn't so good, they found 2 brain bleeds and blood clots in his legs. Right now, the blain breeds are stabilized. But the medication to treat the blood clots can make the brain bleeds worse and the medication to take care of the brain bleeds could make the blood clots worse so it's complicated. Thanks for asking. That's a good idea, I've got Penzu on my phone, I should do that. That's good you ate veggies, that's a step in the right direction.

@TeresaW1020 They did find out, see my response above. Thanks. I pretty much have my site built. It broke the first day but then I got some help from my hosting site and they helped me fix it so, fingers crossed, it is fixed for now lol. I hope they can get your DH's meds situated on Friday. Yeah, those Rubbermaid things really work. Here they are: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08D9S3N9S/ Your party is going to be a lot of fun I bet. That's really sweet that your hubby wanted to get something for your mom just from him. Oh man, leg cramps in the night are the worst!

Hi all. Yesterday, anything that wasn't nailed down went in my mouth and I'll surely pay for it tomorrow at weigh-in. My anxiety was so high yesterday, I could barely breathe. It felt like someone had knocked the wind out of me all day. So much stress. I'm just not good at handling stress. I stopped at the grocery store before picking my husband up from the hospital. I got us easy-to-eat things: egg white quiche, a few salads for my lunches, a take-and-bake pizza, stuff for sandwiches, and...chips. My good old frenemy chips. Oh, and Toblerone. Most of that stuff is okay except for the pizza and the chips but I will survive. I will try to journal my feelings today rather than eat them.

@teresaw1020 I'm glad your mom is getting involved. I put on compression hose (up to top of the thigh) when I have leg cramps at night or occasionally I get restless leg syndrome. That seems to help. What good thing did you do today on your journey?

@trooworld Sorry about your bil. Sounds so serious. Praying for him. While emotional eating helps us in the moment, the original reason we eat is still there. Now we also have to deal with the consequences (weight gain, feeling miserable) plus guilt. It's good to write down just what you are feeling. Usually we try to stuff down those feelings with food. I feel scared because...... I'm worried about my bil because....

I need to make a plan for December to get in more f&v. That's what I'll be working on.
I'm currently wearing an ankle wrap/brace. The tightness is helping the pain on the top of my foot when I walk. I overdid it today with an eye appointment and then errands.

I had a follow up eye exam from when I had shingles last year. OMG, they gave me a glaucoma test that was worse than the puff in air in the eye. I want that one back. This one was numb my eye and touch it with some little meter. She didn't wait til my eyes were numb. Then dilate my eyes. That didn't wear off til the afternoon.

@trooworld I am so very sorry about your BIL and I pray that the doctor’s will be able to get his brain bleeds and blood clots under control. Is he in the hospital? Those are cool Rubbermaid containers and something I should look into getting. I know you are super stressed and turning to our familiar comfort foods is something we all tend to do. But do try to journal your feelings and maybe get on your Tonal to release some of that pent-up stress instead of turning to the chips. Hang in there, girlfriend! <3

@theslightedgeforver DH wears compression socks during the day and said he is going to put them on to sleep in too. I also talked him into taking an extra magnesium tablet at bedtime. He had another cramp last night but it wasn’t as bad. Today has been a good day. I worked out and I’m sticking to my high protein foods. The scale went down some this morning so yayyy! Ouch on that eye exam and the lady not waiting until you were numb. Very rude!! :/

Hello! I’m home today doing a ton of cleaning and getting ready for Saturday’s party. I’ve told everyone that if it’s been clean to not make it dirty again. DH has volunteered to do the floors on Thursday and I’m taking him up on it since I will be at church most of the day. I did a cardio workout this morning and so far I’m loving the new Beachbody program called 645. The trainer Amoila Cesar is the best! I start week two tomorrow as well as the 21-day December Fitmass challenge with my Beachbody coach and her group. I do love a good competition so I’m hoping it will help keep the scale moving in spite of all the parties and Christmas goodies. :)

@theslightedgeforever Thanks. Actually, he's doing better and we think they might release him before the weekend. I am dealing with the consequences today: I am up +4.8 lbs since last week. :( Thanks for the journaling ideas. Did you figure out how to give yourself bonus points for eating f&v? I'm glad the brace is helping. Oh gosh, that glaucoma test sounds awful!

@TeresaW1020 Thanks. He is in the hospital but he is doing a little better and my MIL thinks they will release him by the weekend. At least we hope. Yeah, I need to journal, I haven't been but now is a perfect time. I can't get on the Tonal: migraines. Hopefully, the neurologist will figure something out next Thursday. Yay for the scale going down! I'm glad you are loving the new Beachbody program.

@gemwolf110 Yeah, the time has flown by.

Hi all. Although I've been very busy this week, it has crawled by. I can't wait for the weekend. Got home late last night because we had to drop off my MIL at the hospital to see my BIL. Ate chips and sandwiches for dinner.

@teresaw1020 You sound pumped and ready to lose some weight. Funny about your cleaning for the party and telling them not to mess it up. I'm going to a friend's tomorrow for brunch and she told her family the same thing. I was listening to a podcast today about holiday excuses and how we treat November and December 60 days as a free for all vowing to start doing better Jan 1. She was saying usually people have about 15 days out of that for parties, Christmas shopping, family gatherings. So that's 45 days to follow our plans. You sound on top of your game.

@gemwolf110 I know. I woke up and looked at my phone and it said Dec 1 and I was thinking where did the year go? I have 30 days before I say, "This is going to be my year". :D Let me go look where I was Jan 1, 2021. Well this wasn't my year. I'm up 6 lbs.

@trooworld Such wonderful news about your bil. Well you know alot of that weight is sodium bloat. Back to your program and it will come off. F&V: I was thinking about not counting the carbs for f&v. So like in WW f&v are zero points. I'll try that for December. I've thought of just having f&v for lunch but sometimes I don't eat lunch. I'm trying to figure out how to do it for dinner. I'll probably babystep it.

@theslightedgeforever Yes! And now he's been moved to a regular hospital room out of ICU, so it continues to be better. You are probably right about the bloat. I hope your idea for the f&v works. Babystep into it is a good way to go. Good luck.

Hi all. As I told slightedge above, my BIL has been moved to a regular hospital room out of ICU so I can relax a bit as far as my anxiety goes. Last night, DH made baked eggplant parmesan so that was better. I had a crappy salad for lunch. Christmas is going to be here before we know it and I've done next to no shopping. I did order the supplies to make refrigerator magnets for my coworkers. But I have to get on the gift train soon.

Morning all, I am up and feeling a little more like myself today. Everyone is still sleeping, well they were when I started this. LOL. Now everyone is up. The sun is shining and now to try to do something to make a day of it. I pray each and everyone of you, enjoy the day you have been given and you make choices that help you day to be enjoyable and full of hope. @trooworld More good news about your bil. eggplant parmesan sounds good. I have a good recipe for a burrito bowl I'm going to try. It says butternut squash but I don't have time for that today so I'm going to substitute sweet potatoes.

@cbabie Good to see you on here and feeling better.

I noticed something doing my stretching today. I can lift higher now than I did back when I first started my PT exercises. My hips were way too tight back then. Plus I was able to get up and down off the floor and roll over back to front without appearing like an old lady. I'm getting more nimble. It's good to see progress of some kind.
