What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.

1/17 133.0 I’m pleased with this but expect it to go up in the next day or two. I wanted something with crunch and ate 5 saltines with butter. Back “on the wagon” but no idea what is the snack/supper they are serving at bingo tonight.
1/18 134.5 I was weak. Did great with sub sandwich - pulled all of the soft white bread out and used the crusts to make my sandwich, added onion, tomato and lettuce. I should have stopped there but ate 2 bakery cookies. I’m okay with this though. I should be able to get rid of that quickly.
1/19 134.0 Boing, boing, boing. I’m good with this. Keeping everything under control.
1/20 134.0 OMAD was later than I like (after 5) due to HOA workshop DH was conducting. Shedding may take longer than when we ate earlier. It is what it is. In 10 days I’ll be going on a 6 day quilt retreat. No meals provided. The ladies I’m going with try to eat low carb too and one husband will be playing “Uber Eats” for us.
1/21 134.0 Had a scratchy throat last evening and this morning I seem to have lost my voice. Sucking on zinc drops (SF) so my coffee tastes awful.
1/22 134.5 I feel as if I’ve been run over by a truck. How did my weight go up when I only had about 5 ounces of chicken and a small side salad? Ugh! Coffee still tastes awful.
1/23 134.0 Well, I should have taken my own advice and waited a day or two. I haven’t been sick in so long and I felt so miserable that I wanted a grilled cheese and cream of tomato soup. My ultimate comfort food. And I gave in. My DH, who at one time yesterday said I didn’t feel THAT bad, went to the store and bought bread and 2 cans of Campbell’s tomato soup. Today I feel much better. No aching skin and joints so far.
1/24 134.5. Feeling somewhat better. Drainage making me cough. Cabin fever so we are going to lun-ner with friends. An Italian place that’s extremely popular - need a reservation at 2:30 in the afternoon. I plan to get eggplant Parmesan with no pasta.10 -

When I am feeling low about my weight loss progress, I think about all the things I have learned during my weight loss journey. I think about all the my new behaviors that contribute to my health. Even though I might not be losing weight, I am now treating my body with more respect. I hope you have recovered from your disappointment with the scale and I am sending you some e-hugs.
@refactored It is always disappointing and amazing really how much quicker the scale goes up than it comes down. Getting through the gains is getting through shame, guilt, confusion etc. Focusing on how much better I am taking care of my body, how much better I am respecting my body is a great idea! I will focus more on my blood glucose numbers that are improving, the fact that some of my meds have been reduced, my new smaller sizes that I've been wearing, even the fact that sometimes it actually hurts to sleep because of the way my ribs stick out now and it makes those bones hurt to be pressed upon by the bed. So much to be grateful for I suppose. I guess what I am most grateful for is the fight that is still in me. Thanks so much for your kind and helpful words. Your support helps so much!8 -

01/22 -184.2- (Trend weight 182.7)
01/23 -185.2- (Trend weight 183.0) I went out to dinner with my son yesterday locally as we ran all our errands to prepare for the coming snow today. I really watched my quantities and came in at 1172 calories and 102 carbs for the day which I thought would be just fine. However, my logging shows it was very high in sodium. Another one pound gain is making me really go over my logged food of late. It’s not just how much we eat, it really is the quality of the food too and how it affects our bodies. Today I will try to move more and choose more healthful and helpful foods as I await the snow storm expected to hit again today. I cancelled my out-of-town dental cleaning due to the expected weather so I am hunkered down and have no excuses for not getting some fitness in today too. But first I am going to go bury my head under a pillow and cry, kick and scream – just for a moment. It’s a way better plan than eating my emotions, right?
01/24 -184.6- (Trend weight 183.3) It’s nice to see a drop this morning. I went over my food logs carefully last night. I have been over in sodium pretty consistently. That is a no-no for my heart condition. I also have slacked a little bit on the exercise on many days. I am trying to tweak what TIMES I eat which is pretty confusing to me. I think I am also eating too much bread. Just because it is low calorie and low carb bread doesn’t mean it can be a free-for-all. I have found that I’ve gotten pretty lazy about cooking these past couple of months. I am trying to rely more on sandwiches or frozen meals that contain other starches and preservatives I don’t need. I’ve got to get my inner Julia going and start using up the ungodly amount of food I have in my freezers and pantries. Yes, both those words are plural! I hope to keep dropping a little everyday as we head toward the end of this challenge.

Love my Peloton too.. I agree that it's a major lifesaver when outdoor workouts don't make sense. I also don't enjoy riding outside as much as I don't like dealing with hazards so it's great for that too. Let me know when you have found a favorite instructor!
I'm absolutely loving Tunde! All 3 of my rides have been with her because I clicked on her randomly and loved her so much I keep going back! She's so silly and energetic, just what I need. I want to explore Kendall - BF did one of hers this morning and loves her attitude so I have a feeling I will, too.
No need to, but if any Peloton users want to be friends I'm "Cam_a_lam" and I'm from "lost" haha!7 -

So here we go 2024... my motto -
🏋🏾♀️ Don't think, just do it!!
Goals this round:
- Tracking to the best of my ability 🍎and staying under calorie budget -- Defining a higher calorie budget which will make the loss slower but again, more sustainable.
Also get rid of the oops factor. When targets are too low, it easy to say...Oops, I went over so I
might as well have...<fill in the blank>
Update: I increased my calorie budget and am having trouble meeting it with the right macros.
Update: I hit my protein macro once in the last 10 days.... it's hard!

1/17 216.8 Just riding the wave
1/18 217.0 Accepted....
1/19 216.8 I'll take it!! Today was a tough gym day. Still battling a cold that is bad enough to make me feel "meh", but not classify as "sick"...It was a tough 30 minutes on the treadmill but I did it!
1/20 215.4🙂🙂🙂 I think we are having pizza today 🙀 It was a gift from Christmas from goldbelly.... I will be happy to "hold" for the next day or two...it is the WEEKEND!

1/22 216.4 Seems reasonable. Rounds end on a Friday...before the weekend...hoping for a good one!
1/23 216.8
1/24 216.8 I think I hear the brakes squeaking....I had a BAD day yesterday. It started with not being able to work out. I had full intention...walked out the door to an ice rink. I was very afraid of falling. Luckily I had not let go of the door, so I was able to steady myself and get back inside. If I had let go, I would have been stuck as this door does not open from the outside. At any rate, I came back upstairs and turned on a youtube exercise channel. I did about 30 minutes but it was not the same. So I was bummed as I didn't get my exercise consequently my step count would be low etc. I went in late to work to allow them to get some salt down, both in my apartment parking lot and the work lot. I got to work and my boss was taking orders for lunch....chick fi la...I had brought a nice healthy lunch but....sure...3 chicken strips and waffle fries later. The ALL or None mentality is kicking in! My other boss decides, hey....we are going to give you more responsibility (in a field that I have no knowledge) but we can't pay you any more money.....I get home and my husband who is also abstaining from alcohol says, lets have a pomegranate sour and proceeds to make a batch. I have no defense mechanism at this point. Why not? And I might as well skip the chicken in the fridge that I planned to cook, and we might as well have pizza (his sister gave him frozen pizza from a specialty restaurant for his birthday). I definitely had an ALL or NONE mentality and I need to fix that right away! Good news, today I am back on track. I got my exercise in, had a healthy lunch and plan for dinner, and no alcohol🙂

I’m a 65 year young Oregon gal working on getting rid of those last 5-8 pounds. Last round I hit my first goal of 135, now working to hit my next goal of 130. The plan this round continues to be a minimum of 10,000 steps 👣, 2-3 days a week at the gym🏋️♀️, logging ✏️ everyday with no snacking after 8:00, and limiting the 🍷to social events only. And of course guzzling the water 💧!!!

Round 248 ● My Journey ~ round 4 ● Karla, 67y, 5'4"
Starting wt. 231 lb. /Goal wt. 140 lb. *** Ending wt. round 3 ✴ 219 lb.
🙂Current round musings…- (Day 41) 01/17 ✴ 219.0 lb. ~ I definitely need to move more. There is still time tonight but...It's cold out and dark ... I guess it will be weights and stairs. I did meet the healthy eating (except sodium), calorie & water goals. So, I will call today successful.
- (Day 42) 01/18 ✴ 219 lb. ~ Happy to say, I got up and moved last night. I’m not too surprised about today’s weight after going way over on sodium yesterday. Today I met the healthy eating, calorie & water goals with a few calories left over. It was deskwork all day, dang those virtual meetings, so I am a slug.
- (Day 43) 01/19 ✴ 218 lb. ~ I hope to get over this little slump. I haven’t lost a lb. in a while. Doldrums tonight. I need to get outside and walk. Tomorrow will be better.
- (Day 44) 01/20 ✴ 218.4 lb. ~ I knew today would be better. I am checking in earlier than my normal at bedtime, it is because I forced myself to get up and walk a 30-minute mile on the treadmill. I realize that’s slow, and it wasn’t pretty, but I did it! I have plenty of calories left to finish the day and I feel like I can make good choices. I wish the best for you.
- (Day 45) 01/21 ✴ 217.8 lb. ~ Another early post for me. Oregon is a great place to live from April to October. But the winter months of clouds, rain, and wind can be very depressing, it reminds me of Ohio in the winter. On the positive, I have a 2-day streak of 30-minute exercise. I haven’t made excellent choices for food today. I need to increase my vegetables and with less than 400 calories left, it will be a vegetable-laden dinner. The scale is easing down slowly, I was planning for a 3 lb. loss this round. At the halfway point of this round, it will be a mini-miracle if I achieve that.
- (Day 46) 01/22 ✴ 218.2 lb. ~ So, that streak ended quickly. Lazy day. That’s it for today.
- (Day 47) 01/23 ✴ 216 lb. ~ A bit of a move on the scale finally. Yes! Now to continue the pattern. I may have an aversion to the word ‘exercise’, so I am calling it intentional movement. My intentional movement (IM) was good today, under calories but poor choice of foods and water consumption just at minimum. Focus!
- (Day 48) 01/24 ✴ 217 lb. ~ This back-and-forth can be frustrating. It’s so easy for me to blame it on the last meal, or the last day even though I know change doesn’t happen that fast. I need to focus on the overall change for each round. Oh! NSV! I dropped a pant size. The jeans are tight but they button and zip. Win! So today I met my goals, another win.
We are having our 1st thunder and lightning of 2024 with tonight's rainstorm. I love thunder, it reminds me of sitting on the porch with the family sipping hot drinks just talking and talking...Such good memories of my parents and brother and sister we have lost. It makes me smile and cherish the family we still have. - (Day 49) 01/25 ✴ ??? lb. ~
- (Day 50) 01/26 ✴ ??? lb. ~
Goals this Round:
11 -
RND 248 (my third)
54 y/o female (bday last week so I had to change this 🙂), 5’3”
SW (first round): 155.8
SW (this round): 155.5
1/17 - 153.2 - very excited to be starting with a loss - now I need to hold it. Celebration season is over and looking forward to getting back into a normal routine - although what I thought was going to be a quiet weekend this weekend has suddenly become very busy. Winter Warrior Challenge #17 - 3 miles - still snow covered roads and extremely low wind-chills. 14 days left to go.
1/18 - 154.5 😩. Winter Warrior Challenge Day #18 - walked 3 miles to give mynlegs a rest. Roads are still snow covered, 17 degrees Fahrenheit, feels like 10 - felt warm compared to the past 4 days 😂
1/19 - 152.8 😯. Not sure how that happened, but happy to see it. Winter Warrior Challenge Day #19. Still snow covered roads (it's been too cold to melt) and super cold 🥶 but I got it done. On the downward slide “only” 12 days to go 🤪
1/20 - 152.3. Hoping this holds but going out to dinner at very fancy new restaurant tonight so thinking this will likely go the other way tomorrow. Winter Warrior Challenge Day #20 - 5 miles. Only 11 more days to go!
1/21- 152.5 - busy day - lots of car time- drove 2 hours to watch my daughter compete in an indoor track meet - lots of random food but kept things as healthy as possible and did not go overboard. Noted that indoor runners seem a lot warmer than I've been lately 🤔 🙄 😂 - Winter Warrior Challenge Day #21 ‐ 3 miles. Still very cold and snow covered roads. It is supposed to warm up a bit this week so hoping I can finish this challenge on clear roads 🤞
1/22 - 152.6 - is this sticking???? Fingers crossed. Winter Warrior Challenge Day #22 - ONLY 10 DAYS LEFT - and I am SO excited. The weather has been brutal - which is the point of the challenge - but it is definitely getting old. Tomorrow we are expecting 3 inches of snow covered with a .3 inch glaze of ice… should make for interesting running
1/23 - 153.7 - slowly creeping up since Saturday. Winter Warrior Challenge Day #23 - rain this morning - was not pleasant but actually made the traction in the snow better. Hoping it doesn’t freeze overnight and make things extra treacherous tomorrow + 30 mins strength training.
1/24 - 153.0 Going back in the right direction. Winter Warrior Challenge Day #24 ‐ walked 3 mikes because it was 8:30 pm and running 3 miles was the very last thing on earth I wanted to do but after 23 days, I wasn't going to give up now. Tomorrow will be a better day.

SW RND 248 236.2
1/17 233 / Yesterday wasn't everything that I was hoping for it to be thanks to some unexpected news at night, but I stayed the course and didn't eat my feelings and it paid off on the scale.
1/18 231.4 / Been about a month since I've been at this weight. Woo hoo. Back at indoor soccer tonight.
1/19 233.2 / Soccer game was fun last night but we were terrible. Got some running around in an otherwise low step day. Today has been good - I am working from home so I got to use my lunch break to ride the Peloton. Love that.
1/20 232.2 / Ended up doing two rides yesterday and I treated myself to a bubble bath after some cleaning. Felt great to pamper myself.
1/21 236 / Yesterday was a relaxing day. We also ate too much take-out... day just sorta ended up that way. Weekends haven't been as disciplined as week days which slows my progress.
1/22 233 / Got a one hour ride in on the Peloton before watching my Bills suffer a crushing defeat. Cheering for the Lions now! Working from home today so I was able to ride the Peloton before work.. love that!
1/23 232.2 / Got on the Peloton again tonight. I feel like it's been a long while since I've been on three days in a row. Feels really good.
1/24 230.2 / I had my dinner out with friends tonight and we share a bunch of food. Didn't track. Didn't overeat going in but the meal was bigger than usual. A nice visit.

This round I am going to focus on eating 3 meals per day and staying within my calorie budget. For exercise, I will focus on getting 22 active minutes per day. I also need to keep showing up here no matter what the scale says!
SW RND 248 : 164.7 lbs
1/17 : 164.5 lbs
1/18 : 164.2 lbs Surprised by the drop because I ate a lot of curry last night. I might be dehydrated.
1/19 : 164.2 lbs I need a plan for pizza night. We make small pizzas from scratch and the home made base is delicious but calorific. I think I will aim for 4 slices which is about 500 calories according to my calculations. I will eat slowly and mindfully with lots of sips of water in between. Last week I ate 6 slices which was way too much and I felt over full.
1/20 : 164.2 lbs I am so pleased that I stuck to my plan for pizza night. Usually I gain about a pound then spend the rest of the challenge trying to lose it again. I felt full after 4 slices and most importantly, I didn't feel like I was missing out. Even though my the scale hasn't moved for a few days, I feel like I am making progress.
1/21 : 164.2 lbs I think eating slowly had really helped me get more pleasure out of eating small amounts of treats. Yesterday my kids made some apple crumble and it took the family less than 5 minutes to eat a their slices. I made my small slice last 15 minutes. I know I have rubbished mindful eating in the past but for me it is really helping. Still no movement on the scale though. I am surprised the scale would actually weigh me so consistently the same weight. Surely there would be fluid fluctuations from day to day that should show up on the scale? My scale remembers different people's weight. I suspect there is logic in the scale that snaps the weight to my last weight if it is within a certain margin. Or perhaps my scale is broken.

HW: 194.7 (88.3 kg) April 25, 2020
END WT RND 247: 177.4 (80.5 kg)
1/17- 176.8 (80.2 kg) My rheumatologist noticed I was a few pounds down from my last appointment six months ago.
1/18- 176.7 Comfort food tonight. Hamburger Helper Italian Basil Penne. High sodium, but within my calories.
1/19- 176.5 Coworkers suggested pizza from a local place for lunch. The restaurant doesn't have calories online, so I guesstimated with a mod pizza. That took most of my allotment, so good thing it was very filling. And delicious!
1/20- 176.1 Helped my sister do some painting today, plan to help again a few hours tomorrow. Steak and potatoes for dinner tonight.
1/21- 175.2 (79.5 kg) New low appeared on the scale. I suspect it was water weight, but even if I'm up for a while, I have faith I'll see it and new lows if I stick with it. Also, even though I don't use kgs outside of online, they make for different milestones in addition to the pound ones. Under 80 kgs! Next looking forward to being under 175.
1/22- 174.8 Still stiff this evening when I sit still for a while due to the painting this weekend. Also slept badly last night. Hoping for a good night's rest tonight.
1/23- 174.6 Dog barked and growled at nothing for 2 hours last night from midnight to 2 AM. My husband is out of town for work and I typically don't mind being home alone, but the dog was freaking me out even though there was nothing outside. Apparently, all I had to do to get him to sleep is tell Alexa to play Christmas music. Restaurant with a friend tonight, so calories were a guess. I think I didn't do too bad.
1/24- 175.6 Don't mind the pound swing up. I had so many cravings today, so I went a hundred and fifty calories over goal with a mini Häagen Dazs chocolate ice cream bar. I don't feel bad or guilty about that, but I don't want the exceptions (just one more Pepsi, a few more chips, more cheese please, a second helping of dinner, etc.) to become the norm again. Tomorrow is a new day to do my best.

65 yrs young F, 5ft 4 Round 248 (my 178th). Thank you @quiltingjaine for the new round, as always, so grateful.
Goals for this round to, to lose 1.5 pounds, stay strong look forward to next holiday – s week with the family in this country with a heated indoor swimming pool on site which we plan on using every day, that’s 4 weeks away so I’d ideally like to lose 5 pounds, that is doable if I am sensible and don’t binge eat. Good luck everyone for a successful round.Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, it’s taken me 75 rounds to achieve target of 130 = back to maintenance!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back to around 134. A healthy lifestyle must be a permanent way of life.

Day, Weight, Comment
SW RND 248
1/17 142.6 – 6.96 miles walked yesterday, two thirds of exercise calories eaten back.
1/18 141.4 – 9.49 miles walked, no exercise calories eaten back.
1/19 DNW or track ☹
1/20 144 – 9.49 miles walked yesterday, I have to admit that I found some left over Christmas chocolate and I had a major 2 day binge, didn’t weigh yesterday. Got myself together this morning and will try again!
1/21 143.6 – 10.9 miles walked; two thirds of exercise calories eaten back. It feels better to be back under control. Today we travel 2 hours each way to celebrate DD’s 40th birthday, how did that happen!! Don’t feel that much older than 40 myself, so really don’t feel like the mother of a 40-year-old! It's for brunch and I know will be very carb heavy, I'm trying to plan in advance.
1/22 144 – no structured walking due to the celebrations and sitting in the car, but wonderful to be with DD, DS & their respective families.
1/23 145 - !!!! I need to get my snacking under control & rein in, this is a wake-up call, I know what I need to do, I just need to do it. 3 days to turn this around this round. 9.82 miles walked.
1/24 144.4 – better, 8.95 miles walked, met DS for lunch, made sensible choices, all exercise calories plus116 eaten, BUT NO snacking 👏 .
1/25 143.6 – 11.46 miles walked, a quarter of exercise calories eaten back.

Hi, its Kelly +1C Out today, super nice but another weekend another storm.
5'11" My weight has been as high as 222 in the last 3 months. Participating because it keeps my mind on the goal. This round I would like to just end the round a little lower than I started.

Freeze 🥶🥶🥶has thrown me off. Was cold to the bone (it’s relative, right?!) 2nd day of LAZY. However, I did get in 20 minutes of 🙆♀️and a dumbbell here/there. Today was about my DGS. I don’t need to eat as much on days like today… I did nothing… It was not a “workout” day, so I need to be more mindful of portion control. I can certainly eat too much of a good thing!
Shall have a better physical day today. Will force myself: 🙆♀️🏋️♀️🤸🏼. No reason I can’t accomplish these activities inside, as I am set up to do it! Don’t make it tough. Let’s go! 🙌🏻
1/18 ⚖️130.6lbs
Yesterday: ✅macros, 1222 cal, 🏋️♀️20 min, 🚶♀️🚫2.5k+, Total 30 ex min,🔥180 Ex cal, 💓Z2 20 min.
NSVs:
✅Paid attention to portion control
✅ Followed through on 🙆♀️ & 🏋️♀️.
✅ ⚖️ 130.6lbs - I opted to weigh because I haven’t been outside/walked, etc for last three days…& I feel like a slug. In my mind, I’m “off plan”, so I wanted to hold myself accountable and hop on the scale. Brief 🏋️♀️🙆♀️ is ✅ ? Will ⚖️ again tomorrow for more info…. (Confirmation: A bear loses weight while hibernating?) 😂Good to know. Solid information.
✅ 🏋️♀️ are scheduled in RED on my calendar!
Today: ☔️🌧️⛈️ but in the 60s… This weather is on the brink of destroying my attitude. 🙆♀️🏋️♀️🤸🏼perhaps I’ll venture to the gym at my club - my own little private treasure island. Gosh I miss tennis!
1/19 ⚖️ 132.0 Scale still has a psychological impact on me… 🎢?! Is this water? Muscle? Neither or both? It’s information, silly!
Yesterday: ✅macros, 1177 cal, ✅🏋️♀️& 🙆♀️🤸🏼, 🚶♀️🚫2.1k+, Total ex min 68, 🔥339 Ex cal, 💓Z2 35 min.
For some reason I just started 🏋️♀️🤸🏼🙆♀️ @home and it clicked! Felt great. 💪🏻 Did not leave the house to walk so another day without steps. 😞 Will bundle up & 🚶♀️today!
1/20 DNW. Yesterday: ✅macros, 1200cal, ✅🏋️♀️& 🙆♀️🤸🏼, 🚶♀️10.8k, Total ex min 138, 🔥600 Ex cal, 💓Z2 20 min.
What a difference the weather makes! Sunny skies, 46° very windy & gorgeous. Perfect day for 4.2mi power walk. Conquered 🏋️♀️🤸🏼🙆♀️ early in the morning, so I felt great all day!
Today: Try same 🏋️♀️🤸🏼🙆♀️🚶♀️as yesterday but much colder today, ☀️w/ no wind. Doing well with portions. Will be a terrific day. Still missing tennis.
Reflections: Many want/need variety with meals - I don’t. I’m lucky. Quite comfortable with basically the same foods day-to-day. This was an evolution… has not always been true for me. Easy on my digestion. Makes daily decisions & grocery shopping effortless. Giving up sugar and processed foods the BEST decision of my life. Well on my way with food as fuel… No alcohol since NYE. Can count on one hand the number of times since July. Game-changer. No way I feel deprived. I actually feel free. Onward!

Yesterday: ✅macros, 1680cal, ✅🏋️♀️& 🙆♀️🤸🏼, 🚶♀️5.2k, Total ex min 84, 🔥258 Ex cal, 💓Z2 38 min.
Too cold for me again. Only 1.0 mile afternoon power walk. (I underestimated how cold it was, with wind chill - did not dress correctly, so just came home)
✅🤸🏼🙆♀️ enjoyed nice functional workout. Cozy on couch ALL DAY watching TV!!!! (This rarely happens-a real treat yesterday!)
Today: 🎾🤸🏼🚶♀️
1/22 Yesterday: ✅macros, 1655cal, ✅🏋️♀️& 🙆♀️🤸🏼, 🚶♀️3.2k, Total ex min 34, 🔥100 Ex cal, 💓Z2 18 min.
Not pleased with my downward activity trends… Even my watch reminded me….
I had planned to hit the 🎾ball machine in the afternoon, so did not walk early, but when I walked out of the door for 🎾, I turned around because it was simply too darn cold. Such a lightweight. Never realized how much my energy /commitment is based on feel-good weather…. Ate too many calories - didn’t burn 🔥 enough. Too much fuel! 😂 Disappointed in my sluggishness.
🙆♀️🎾this morn. 🤸🏼later. (Temp up & will rain through Sat starting tonight) Ugh. Will come up with a rain plan! (Looks like I’ll be five days at the club this week!)
1/23 Yesterday: ✅macros, 1158 cal, ✅🙆♀️🤸🏼🎾, 🚶♀️7.8k, Total ex min 118, 🔥962 Ex cal, 💓Z2 36 min.
Fun tennis with nice weather. Good to finally enjoy outside & feeling active. Good lunch & dinner. Ate light yesterday - I just didn’t feel like eating more … kinda feeling bloated. Huh 🤔?
Today: Morning walk? Doing maintenance is unsettling. My yo-yo 🪀 tendencies are wanting to kick in? Strange uneasiness…. maybe I can re-direct that negative energy somehow. Wait it out… Let it pass. (I can hear my mom whispering “this, too, shall pass…”) Be mindful & grateful…. Think GOOD thoughts… Let’s go!
January is flying by…
1/24 ⚖️ 132.0
Yesterday: 🚫macros (Only had 50g of protein(20%) &1328 cal, ✅🙆♀️&🚶♀️10.2k, Total ex min 77, 🔥371 Ex cal, 💓Z2 62 min. Look
Weight: I feel like the scale is definitely creeping up from lack of inactivity… I’m thinking it’s sad that I can’t eat 1500 to 1700 cal a day even when I’m burning 🔥 3 to 500 per day… Rationally, I know I’m also trying to build muscle which will push the scale up if I’m not simultaneously losing fat, but it just bothers me… It’s a lifelong battle with the scale raising its ugly head. To not acknowledge, these feelings would be denial… I have to face them head on. But I know they are only feelings… If I change my thought patterns, I will change my feelings. Wow it’s always something.
No tennis yesterday but was able to power-walk. Sort of blah. Rain & cold have taken me out of routine. That’s on me. Learning to deal through positive thoughts and a “can-do will-do” attitude. Hanging on = NSV. I have to learn to be ok with “even” & “ho-hum” - & to be thankful for the mundane “every-day”. 😐
Today: so weather dependent I am. Today will be in mid-60s with all-day storms. Will attempt a wonderful, positive day filled with inside activities to spark my brain & soul. 😀 Goal today is to drink more water than usual, and flush out the doldrums!
1/25 ⚖️ 131.4
Yesterday: ✅macros &1124 cal, ✅🙆♀️🤸🏼&🚶♀️9.8k, Total ex min 83, 🔥501 Ex cal, 💓Z2 70 min.
So pleased with my attitude yesterday. I have to give 💯 props to this group… Reading through all the comments gave me renewed momentum to move forward. … What a battle of the mind! I was letting my “feelings” get to me… Me, one of the most vocal advocates of changing thought patterns to change feelings, and I found myself stuck in the quagmire of feelings!! Wow!
So…. I went on a quick power-walk to beat the rain, and got in a great 🙆♀️🤸🏼🏋️♀️ session after. Thankful. 💦💦💦 Flushing out those doldrums!
Today: Raining & flash flooding today. Will watch radar & find one hour to walk. Will also 🤸🏼🏋️♀️🙆♀️ this morning. Extra 💦 today.
NSV: I am amazed at how eating only whole foods (zero processed foods) has become my WOE. I can’t imagine going back. I haven’t had the sniffles or any digestive inflammation in over a year (knock on wood)… and not feeling deprived. Eating “clean” has helped me identity the foods that don’t agree with me. I had IBS for 30+years and not a trace now! It’s been a long journey and well worth it.
Let’s finish 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻!

The yo-yo is exhausting & unhealthy. Takes up way too much brain space.
I learned MY choices created an emotional 🎢 roller coaster with yo-yo weight and fitness. My forever goal is to maintain approx. 130lbs and IN SHAPE. Pretty clear that once I reached a goal weight I would then relax/ drift backwards. So glad 145lbs was the max over the last nine years.
I also noticed that as I age it becomes much, MUCH more difficult to lose weight. I could lose 15lbs easy in 8 weeks up to 2020ish … This is absolutely not true anymore!
While active with 🚶♀️& 🎾 it’s clear a ST routine is absent. Time to incorporate ST 🏋️♀️ as my TRUE focus.
