Great running @Teresa502 . I applaud you for getting out in the cold twice today!
Someone sent me this sign in an e-mail. I thought of our discussion earlier and especially of @tarun_yadavA .5 -
Back into the forest today for an easy long run. Felt great and I’m back up to my December pace. I’ll be happy when I’m getting November times! Headed in early as hubby wanted to go out for a motorbike ride so I needed to be back by 9am. Suited me as it’s been really hot and muggy here. It’s overcast now and I can smell rain but we’re unlikely to get any - Sod’s Law. We’re in a bit of a rain shadow, last week I was driving home through torrential rain which promptly stopped about 3km from home. I’ve also driven to school more than once where it’s been fine at home and raining at school which is just 2km away. So I shall continue to sit here smell the wet clouds and watch my lawn continue to die. Roll on autumn I say!10

Good morning everyone!
Went on a 9.3km easy run this morning with some short sprints thrown in. Nothing eventful, just waiting for the sun to poke its head out from behind the clouds one of these days (but also very aware of being careful of what I wish for). My daughter seems to have the flu. I am trying my best to take care of her, but also keep my distance and keep the other kids away. So far, so good, fingers crossed things stay that way and she recovers soon.
164.2/200km.
@tarun_yadavA Two more days to 50!
@ContraryMaryMary Glad your run went so well and you are getting back on track in terms of meeting your running goals!6 -
Morning everyone!
Got in a 10K. Ran first couple of miles doing laps of local park with my 9yr old.
@quilteryoyo hahaha. That sign nailed it! (Forced) Brunches are probably the only time I ever get to drink Bloody Mary's.
@Laurz9191 hey! Thank you! Pleased with myself - running streak and no-booze streak!
PS: you are absolutely killing it with your running of late 🙌🏽
Side note-
sweet tooth p0rnReset clean living not going to plan since coming back home. This boutique bakery was finishing with a Valentines limited edition bun/donut-y thing.
Rose and pistachio creme (think Italian style)
Gooey. But so so good.
Easy 400-500 calories right there
Right. Tomorrow is a new day. Reset
😂
Have a lovely Sunday! ☺️10 -
@quilteryoyo funny sign and very applicable for @tarun_yadavA!
Nice runs @Laurz9191 and @ContraryMaryMary!
Nice run @tarun_yadavA and that bun looks delish!! Love pistachios!
Did 4.2 miles today with the training group. My longest one session walk in quite a long time. Felt great and motivating to be out with other runs and walkers! 16:40 pace

43.30 miles
41.7 miles to go
Rest day today after a challenging long run yesterday. Started out with a bad route decision and had to adjust plans as I was running - continued to make bad choices - and ended up running .6 mile longer than I intended. The trail I originally chose was snowy with ice underneath - I knew the snow would be there but had not anticipated the uneven icy layer of frozen footprints underneath which was causing me to roll my ankles and/or walk because it was so uneven. I got off the trail to find better footing and ended up on a VERY busy road without a shoulder - not sure which was worse. Neither was enjoyable and both required a lot of walking to ensure I didn’t end up injured or dead. Ended up back on the trail to get off the busy road and then found the sidewalk at the end of the trail completely impassable due to snow from the road that had been plowed and thrown on the sidewalk, but not cleared. Veered into a neighborhood to make my way back home without having to trudge through knee-deep snow for 3 miles and ended up tacking on an additional .6 miles via the winding streets of the various neighborhoods I went through on my journey back home. Overall, the run was much longer, harder and slower than I anticipated - but I got it done 🙁

Nice run @ContraryMaryMary . The trail looks nice. I hope you get some rain at your house soon.
Nice running @Laurz9191 . I hope your daughter feels better soon and no one else in the household gets it.
Nice run @tarun_yadavA . I'm glad your son ran part of it with you today. I'm not a huge pistachio fan, but the dessert looks good - better if the creme were a different color. LOL I hope you enjoyed it.
Nice walk @daria0919 . I'm glad you enjoyed exercising with the training group!
Great run @Mari33a .
Glad you had a nice run too @kgirlhart .
@Leigh_b That sounds like a really tough run, but you did it!

I did my normal Sunday mile on the treadmill between church and lunch with mom. I rested this afternoon and then played tennis with some friends, indoors, at 6. It's been a couple of months since I played. I did much better than I expected after having not played that long. It was fun. League starts soon.10 -
@Laurz9191 - I hope your daughter gets well soon and that you or the rest of the family don't get it!
@tarun_yadavA - love that your son got out for another run with you! Will tomorrow be #50 for your streak?
I agree with @quilteryoyo on the color of the filling. I like pistachio ok but not sure I could deal with that color.😂
I have gotten out for a couple of walks and then life got in the way. So today I was determined to get out and since I won't be able to get out much the next few days (more treatment and rain is coming) I wanted to get in a good one today. We haven't been over to the trail in months so headed that way thinking I might run some or might just walk depending on how I felt. It felt so good to be over there, we have missed it! So we ran a good bit today other than the 1st 0.25mi. I also did a 1mi cooldown walk home. I have met my nominal 25mi goal and am just 2.5mi from 30mi! Depending on how soon they will allow me to get back out I may even hit 35 or 40! If I get there it would be my highest month since April of last year!10 -

Morning all.
Got in 5 (09"41 pace).
Made it to 50!!
@daria0919 @shanaber @quilteryoyo thanks ladies for all the kind words! ☺️9 -
@chris_in_cal, @tarun_yadavA @quilteryoyo @shanaber I also have to give a major shout out for the kind words! It really does help! I really want to give myself the best shot possible for a big PB. So far so good, but there are still 1.5 months of training to go. It has been hard, fun, interesting, boring- you name the emotion - it's been there, but all in all it's been an overwhelmingly postive training cycle.
@Leigh_b That sounds like a really hard run. Icy paths and dangerous traffic sounds like some of the worst conditions you can have while running. And, even though it might not have been as fast as it would have been in other conditions, you got it done and got home safe!
@SummerSkier I hope your poor cat is doing better!!!
Today I went for an easy 10.3km run in the mist. There were puddles and mud galore but my feet stayed dry in my waterproof ghosts. Tomorrow I have my longest run for the week planned and am motivated to test out some new fueling stuff I ordered. 175.5/200km for February.9 -
@Leigh_b That run sounds so hard! One of those runs where you’re just ready for it to be over. I like to call those mental toughness runs. It feels like the product isn’t necessarily building fitness, but rather building toughness. Good job sticking with it!
@tarun_yadavA Congrats on 50 days! Keeping it going?
@SummerSkier I hope your cat is feeling better. It’s so hard when pets are unwell because they can’t tell you what’s going on and you can only do so much to provide comfort. We just had one of ours in to see the vet for what turned out to be an upper respiratory infection. He was also limping a little and the vet said he probably just landed weird. They have him antibiotics and a pain killer shot that was supposed to last a few days. Luckily, that did the trick and he’s back to his playful, howling self.
@Laurz9191 I’m happy to hear your training cycle has gone so well! It’s such a confidence builder to go into a race feeling like training went well and you’re ready.6 -

Beautiful morning today! It was mid 30’s, clear, sunny, low humidity. Just absolutely perfect. It’s taper week, though I don’t know that I really need it. I haven’t been able to get to the intensity or the mileage that I was doing leading up to my January race. I don’t feel capable of racing in the same way and my Garmin is losing faith as well. My estimated HM time is about 3 minutes slower right now that Garmin was estimating heading into my last race.
The weather for this weekend is looking really good and I wish I was in better condition to race. But it’s probably not going to happen so I’m planning on just running by feel and trying to have a good time.8 -
I am pretty grateful I was able to run today. I fought get out, but afterwards I now get to reap the rewards. I have had a lot going on, so I'm patting myself on the back for holding it somewhat together until the storm blows over.
February Running Goal: 13 runs,40 miles- Feb 2 -2.87 miles
- Feb 4 -3.48 miles
- Feb 9 -1.86 miles
- Feb 11-2.73 miles

Well done @chris_in_cal on your patience and persistence!
Good luck on your race this weekend @martaindale!
Finally got outside for a run... after another missed week.
Replaced the Puma shoes with another pair of Endorphin Speed 3s.
Just did a short 4 miles to test the Achilles. Felt good.7 -
@shanaber You did great with the run/walk on the trail. Those pictures are beautiful. I hope they let you get back out and running again soon. Hobbes looks great. I also hope the rain's aren't too bad in your area!
@chris_in_cal I hope the rains aren't horrible in your area either. You did great today!!!
It sounds like you are doing great with your training plan @Laurz9191 ! Fingers crossed for a PB on your race.
@martaindale I'm glad your cat (pet) is back to it's normal self. You are doing great. Sometimes running by feel gets you there faster than if you are trying to maintain a pace - says the person who can never maintain a pace. But I have been surprised by my pace sometimes when I am just going by feel. You have a great attitude going into the race. I hope you really enjoy it.
Great run @Scott6255 . I'm glad your Achilles felt good.4 -

According to Garmin, I only slept 4 hours last night, and I think it was generous. I think it was probably more like three. I went to bed early, but just couldn't get to sleep. I'm beginning to think I have restless leg syndrome. Mom has it and there are some nights that I just can't lay still once it get to bed.
After spending the day (6:30 am - 3:45 pm) with six 3 - 4 year olds, I was tired, so chose to just walk one mile on the driveway before calling it a day.
