Debbie - lovely photo of the swans and your wetlands. When I get the teleporter I'm going shopping at YOUR Safeway. Your DH finds such good deals. At my Safeway, the night deli crew gets busy pulling the meat off the rotisserie chickens that don't sell and they pack it into containers marked with a high price in the refrigerated section. I sometimes buy it if I'm in a hurry, I like the seasonings they use.
That's the morning update. Happy Friday!

The chickens we got were at our Super Walmart- they seem to have marked down ones most times we go in the morning(only go once every week at most-needing cat food).Buying roasted chickens and portioning it out is a lot cheaper than buying the little cans when feeding 10 cats.
We really don't buy a lot at Safeway- prices are too high unless it is a good/digital coupon item.
We do get 10% off on store brands so that helps a bit.
Getting ready to go walk mil's dog then I am sure shop for stuff for her and for dh to take with him for the weekend.
I will walk the wetlands at 1 until I get Ezie. I need to pull out a real camera instead of using my phone to get some really good pictures.
Looking forward to dh being gone for the weekend and already saying my little prayer I do when I have to go take care of MIL . I pray to not let her bitterness get into my head and my heart and to have some peace. When I was going there every day- I said that prayer every time driving over.It seemed to really help.

Well... my get up and go just slap got up and went. Looking for it now. Perhaps it's under a pillow on my bed? Doesn't help that a sleepy kitty is a few feet away from me... 🐈⬛👀🐈⬛😀 A little zen for your morning, afternoon or evening, as the case may be:
Some days, the meds just really knock me down, and this new diuretic is really (you should pardon the expression) taking it out of me.
Later, y'all,
Love from beautiful sunny, warm Arkansas

Dad wasn't around at noon so I did my taxes instead. Got them all done and submitted Yay! And I only had one serving of chocolate!
My back hurts after two hours in my computer chair. I am so out of shape!
I think it will be chicken in honey mustard sauce for Dad tonight. Meanwhile I am just resting my back and relaxing.

All going well so far. The meal was a huge success. Bea has showered and John is reading to her. Edie is playing a game on my phone and Max on his. My energy lasted through the main course, but I had to retire halfway through dessert. Edie and John took over. My legs are aching horribly, but I have the added problem of upper stomach distension and uncomfortableness. It was that I succumbed to. I did remember to take my new pill.
No idea what the stomach thing is. It's been going on for weeks. Doesn't seem to be eating dependent.
I'm determined to sleep tonight, and the kids are taking up all the beds, so I will be using painkillers. Not supposed to overdo ibuprofen, because Ramipril is kidney stressing. Nor too much potassium. They will check that level when I'm next seen.
Let's hope the avocados they are so looking forward to for breakfast haven't gone off! Otherwise it will be a quick run to the Co-op.

Awww! Heather sent you a msg on IG. Hope it cheers you! Get rest and feel better. Kids are happily snacking and coloring and waiting for parents to pick up. My son grabbed my grocery order from Aldi on his way home from work. I will hit Meijer for about half a dozen items, then be able to linger with my coffee and you ladies in the morning. Sleep sounds so good! TGIF! xoxo KJ(Kelly)6

Will follow up on the posts tonight or tomorrow.
Carol: The reason I walk where I walk is because there are security guards. My son spent time in Athens and walked the dog at the Intra mural fields and lake at UGA all the time. I've walked the area myself. Often there are students and groups of students walking the area. But it only takes a few minutes for something to happen when no one happens to be around. UGA has quite the police force. Very tragic and upsetting.
Best,

We had our younger daughter round for afternoon tea on Thursday. She woke up and found her old dog, Jack, in a bad way and had to take him to the vets. He’s gone over the rainbow bridge to join his brother and sisters. He was a sweet natured old boy who loved his cuddles.
Everything went well today and I’m relaxing in front of the telly. Will have an early night.
Helped DH wash my car at lunchtime. It was quite pleasant out on the driveway in the spring sunshine.
Just local shops tomorrow. Will visit elder daughter on Sunday.

Had a great walk at the wetlands after walking with Kobe at mil's. Weather is PERFECT. I did change from fleece lined leggings to thin leggings and took my sweater off right after I started walking the wetlands. Was a wonderful breeze for the stretch along the Napa River, a bit warm around the Eucalyptus groves(no breeze). Over 13,000 steps so far and not even 3:30.

Well my mom died soI left the gym for a month. Back at it. New spinal injections. Moved up to 25lb dumbbell curls but need to try 30’s and lower my reps. Going up on most my lifts 2.5-5lbs at a time. Bi-weekly strength tests via egym too. I log everything as to many weights to remember. I can’t do compound lifts as spinal cord damage & balance issues plus I no longer have a spotter and I haven’t tested out the Smith machine in a couple of years. 1yr anniversary of my 3level cervical fusion, still managing old lumbar fusion, TKR doing great, ankle/foot fusion & recon doing 95% ok. Awaiting word if another spinal surgery plus pannulectomy are needed or a spinal cord stimulator implant. NEVER gonna give up lifting. Other TKR is being avoided 100% with strength training. There are a zillion different lifts/methods to choose from. Start small and earn your stripes. Have a minor or major set-back…train any way and all body parts allowed by your surgeon & PT. Being sedentary & low muscle strength is the quickest way to injuries, mobility decline and weight gain. Next to no one needs to end up in a nursing home…your health is a choice…what you fuel your body with is a choice:)10

Heather - I hope you enjoy the sleepover. It’s a lot with three!
Machka - beautiful colouring.
Lanette - I would be uncomfortable that high up I think. I used to like heights and still don’t mind it, it’s ladders that bother me.
Carol - The Cricut has hundreds of thousands images that we can use. I had to search for them and manipulate them. I then coloured them and glued them onto the coloured cardstock backing. I need to do something else to laminate though, I tried to cheap out and I already see problems.
I enjoy PowerPoint, but didn’t use it for this one.
Lisa - I used to do intricate puzzles like that.
I think that most of us share are battles
Rebecca - I love that button piece. I may do that with Michaela. I have so many buttons.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Rita - how sad for your husband and his siblings. Terrible.
I successfully completed this session with 100%. I figured I would, since I met more than the criteria for the project. One student did all of the work in PowerPoint and didn’t actually create a binder. He was very clear in both verbal and written instructions and reminded us each day what he was expecting. It’s certainly not his fault.
I actually reviewed the instructions last night when I felt I was done and noticed I missed one element, so quickly did it.
It got up to +11C today here, it is supposed to be -17C again on Tuesday. No wonder so many people are sick.
I met a couple of the ladies I worked with at the manor for supper. I was hoping that the whole conversation isn’t about the environment there, but they are still in the mess of it all so it did end up being a bit much.
Rodger and I went to Costco today, it cost about $100 more when he goes with me, but we bought stuff for probably 10 meals so it’s ok as long as we like it. If I don’t, be better. 😂
I then came home and cleaned the freezer, fridge and cupboards. I threw out so much expired or freezer burned food. It’s awful the waste. It’s why I quit buying too much for groceries. It just goes to waste. I am a very fussy eater and if DH doesn’t eat it I won’t.
Michaela was allowed to put Kids Messenger on her phone (it is an old phone of mine that only works on wifi) today. She sent me an audio message that said, “I love you Grammie. Sooo much.”
She then responded with this:
We have had two video chats in the last 45 minutes lol.

I am quite proud of my work though. There are two boards and the binder. I figure it is about 35 hours of work in 3 days, thankfully it’s the weekend after I present tomorrow.
I’ll put the pics in a spoiler there are a few. The pictures in the binder, except the one with the “I want” pieces, I designed on the Cricut so it drew the picture and the name, I hand coloured them.
Really impressive work!!2 -
Fencing again today!
I've been working on my hand strength over the past week, and so the sword felt quite comfortable. Now I need to work on my triceps and shoulder strength!

KJ - You are amazing! How you cope with all those kids, I have no idea. I am sooooo grateful for your review.
Bea took ages to go to sleep, because Edie was allowed to stay up a bit longer. They are in two single beds in the top room. Edie sometimes reminds me of a 45 year old washerwoman round a village pump. She loves gossip and people, and is often much older than her years. Of course, she is also a moody pre-teen, but she is on her best behaviour here.
She helped John with the washing up and then came to talk to me on the sofa. We looked at art projects on my phone, and just idly chatted. She told me that daddy said I had only agreed to have all of them in May for two nights, because the other grandparents were having them first. I said that wasn't true, but she confirmed that my son did say that. We then had a long discussion about what it would be like to have them for two weeks. She was suitably appalled at all the work!
Then she said, 'I'm the nice granddaughter, because I come and talk to my grandparents. "
After she had gone up, Max watched 'Would I Lie To You' with us and loved it.
So all good. And I rubbed in the ibuprofen gel and took a co-codamol and got a decent night's sleep.
I'm now downstairs talking to you, and about to make John a cup of tea. Edie will be making sure they don't come downstairs before 7 am.

Today’s gratitude: hemp stick then motion is lotion. OR tax refund deposited and allocated
Didn’t want to go to line dancing and almost blew it off. Glad I went, felt so much better afterwards.
Kim Great idea! I’d love to bring the dogs down to you but then I’d just want to stay and play in the Bay Area . . .
Annie the calories and macros in stuff changes and I don’t understand why. My oats when from 150 C to 170 C for 40 g. WTH?
April, signs of spring for sure. Love seeing new born lambs frolicking on green hills, a favorite Mendocino county memory.
Debbie you are a bargain. Might be time for a little “inflation”.
Tracey wow, just wow. Very well done!
Ginny great news about the new hire!
Lanette well done, tho’ I’m not real happy about you getting up on a ladder with no one around… I’m such a worrywart.
Machka didn’t know you were taking another uni course, what is it?
Betsy you and your sister are an important part of this group. ((hugs)) and
Lisa those puzzles are beautiful!
Kylia count me in with you in the earthworm rescue squad. It’s gross but I do it.
Rebecca the button project.
Rita glad all’s well. ((hugs)) to your DH for the wicked stepmom. SMH.
Lisa hope you can take Egg’s hint and just rest while adjusting to the new meds.
Heather upper stomach trouble on top of leg pain? Glad John and Max stepped up, hope the painkillers let you sleep…
Terri ((hugs)) to your youngest. So very hard. ((hugs))
Welcome @aWildFlowere. ((hugs)) so sorry for your loss. Brava for getting back into the gym.
