Tina--Sorry you are still having issues. You are right we know our bodies better than the doctors. Getting them to listen sometimes gives me a headache. The only pictures of ex's I have kept are of my son's dad. Someday the plan is to give them all to him. I have them separated from the rest.
So glad to be sharing with you ladies. Advice on doctors is good. I also believe we have to stick up for ourselves. I am Blessed my doctor listens and he follows up. I can email him and he will answer the same day.
Well after today I am off 3 days. will leave for Iowa in the morning so tonight will pack. Also have to deliver a cake I made to a lady for the Salvation army meal our motorcycle group is doing on Sunday as I am sure by the time we get back I will not be in the mood and will have to get things ready for the work week.

Heather - So pleased you were seen, that you saw a doc, and that they're doing something. I understand the tearful. For me, it's the shaky aftermath of being on ultra-high alert for hours, making sure I get the questions asked and answered, making sure I understand the answers, and on and on. High stress is an underestimation of the situation.
Continuing my peaceful day, though I did do a quick errand to get my daughter and granddaughter's birthday presents mailed, so they make it to Hawaii on time. I do better if I get those things off my mind than if I leave them wait.
Back to my doings - a little crochet while I'm watching a Great Courses lecture on Prime: Medical Myths, Lies and Half-Truths: What We Think We Know May be Hurting Us. Apropos.

Afternoon all
Came home and took a snooze..last night didn't sleep well.. lately i have been which is unusual.
Found out my rheumatologist is pregnant couldn't even tell.looks like she swallowed a grape lol she is due in July.she will be back when i come for my next appointment.
This is her first..
I did make an appointment with an opthamologist like she wanted me to,and with Lupus im supposed to wear at least a 30 spf even inside as it can effect the skin ,so theres that. Also my kidney values are up so she said to call the nephrologist and maybe see him earlier than usual..( swell) but other than that all is well.. sometimes i feel a little off balance she said use my cane or my 4 wheeled walker that ,I will take with me on the cruise if I go..It all depends on Tracy and the babies.5 -

Have you thought about going to physical therapy to work on your balance? They could get you on the right track and then you could continue the exercises at home. I know doing any exercise is not something you want to do, but the only way you are going to get better (and get off some of your drugs) is to move more. It’s not easy, but PT would get you going in the right direction.

Barbara Coastie - I spent $170 for 1 night in my home for Levi at christmas time. and I am finding that $50-$80 per night per dog is the going rate, around here extra for a walk.... As I am working on getting ready to offer to watch folks dogs overnight at my home to create a bit more cash....
I'd offer you a friends on MFP rate if you wanted to bring them all the way here!

Crap. My nonfat Greek yogurt is 130 calories per three quarters cup, not 110 as I have been counting.
I'm feeling irritable because my dad walked to the lawyers' office and told them we never found the will, which is not true. It's with the Registrar of Wills, where it is supposed to be. Dad said the lawyers were going to call the house. So maybe they picked up on his confusion.
Oh well, guess the next thing to do is make dinner.

Machka, found the double vision info very interesting. The image was exactly what I saw when doing the eye exams over the years. No one ever mentioned that I could have double vision and I always said that none of the images they were showing me were clear. Don't think it occurred to anyone. I had very poor vision with extreme astigmatism in both eyes. Wore glasses from a young age and hated them. Finally when I was 48 decided to have laser surgery and now have perfect vision for distance. Need reading glasses though which is fine.

I am the odd one, I am sure. I keep any pictures I have of former hubby as he is my best friend. The mug I use every day is one that has a picture of he and I on a trip to SF after not seeing him(or hearing from him) in 20 yrs. We talk all the time.3 -
Hmm. On second thought I do have a video of an ex. He did an elephant excursion in Thailand and the video shows an elephant dumping a snoot full of water on him. He has a big smile!

Reserved test daycare for next Tuesday, then if all good, will drop dogs off before oral surgery trip. Haven't been on much the last two days due to not feeling well. You all have been busy, can’t wait to catch up on what you’ve been up to.
Lanette - I live in Southern Indiana. I was born and raised here, and moved to Chicago in the early 80’s for 18 years. I’ve been back in Southern Indiana since 1999 (a few different towns, but the same general area) and love the small town life. Lots of corn and soybeans in my area too.
Margaretturk - I totally get the tie between doctors and big pharma.Have you ever been waiting in the doctor’s office, and seen someone walk in dressed really sharp and carrying a big briefcase? Those are big pharma reps, coming to introduce the doctor to the latest medicines available. If the doctor prescribes enough of a certain medication to his patients, they win a big vacation to Hawaii or another popular destination that year. It’s sad, but that’s our medical system nowadays.
RVRita - Your story is very similar to mine healthwise, and gives me hope that my liver will heal from the low carb, no sugar, no grain diet I’m following. While I’ve had some small improvements, it’s been a slow process. Then again, it hasn’t quite been a month since I started the diet. I know, patience, patience…. Ah allergies 🤧 I take Allegra for mine, and use my Albuterol inhaler. Claritin doesn’t work for me, but Benydril does. I try not to take it though, as it knocks me out.
Kim - Hope you recover from your cold quickly.
Debbie - I too am planning my garden, and have ordered some seeds, as well as picked up a few at the store. I really hope I have regained enough strength come springtime, to help my husband garden this year. Even if it’s in a chair!
Flea - Congrats on your husband’s new job, and the upcoming house closing! I can just imagine the relief you both feel.
Sue - I love seeing the first signs of spring. Our neighbors' cows have all had their spring babies, (they are so cute!) And an Amish farm near us, has sheep that look like they are very close to having their lambs. I’m still waiting for my daffodils to start popping up, and my husband saw some geese flying north the other day. Hopefully spring is right around the corner.
Michelle - What a unique looking tea bag! It almost makes me want to try some. (I can’t drink it because of the tannin though) 🙁
Machka - I’ve never heard of prisms in eyeglasses before, so intriguing. Glad they finally figured out the problem and were able to fix it. I hope those fires stay far away from you!
Betsy - I’m so sorry to hear about your sister's cognitive decline. Hugs and prayers.
Pip - Congrats on the new car!
Michele - From your comment to Anne about coleslaw: Why did I never think of using apple cider vinegar and salt instead of mayo? (can’t do mayo, gives me terrible heartburn) I have some cabbage in the fridge, I’ll be trying it soon!
Tina - Like you, I have problems with my eye being blurry, but it’s my left one. I have noticed it for years, even with 20/20 lenses at the optometrist. I even had lens replacement surgery a few years ago for cataracts, and the left eye is STILL slightly blurry. My eye doctor nor a specialist have been able to figure out why.
Kylia - I like your idea of using local honey to help with allergies. I just found a person in my area about a month ago that is selling his bees honey.
Heather - Glad you finally got to see a doctor, they are listening to you, and are helping you now.
Vickie - Have a safe trip!

maybe I should sqitche to dogs instead of kids. I have actually thought about doing a little dog walking side job. Would be nice to have a dog to walk the wetlands with me.
Went with dh to pick up his check at the store(works at Safeway) then went to Walmart- got roasted chickens that were marked down 1/2 price. Some for us for on my salads and in enchelladas and some for the cats.
Also picked up some chopped pecans that are usually $4.98 , marked $1.00!! date on them is still more than 6 months out. Going in the freezer for baking.
Got back to the house, grabbed a little Swiss cheese and headed out to walk the wetlands. High tide so no walking on the beach(there was NO bit of beach visible). Not a lot of birds out but did see some swans up close in a different area than usual. LOVE seeing them- they are amazing

Thanks for taking time to respond to each person-that is very thoughtful.
I have always had a garden. Growing up, we had over an acre of garden that fed our family , extended family and friends. Since I got married the first time, the only time I didn't have a garden was when we got married and I moved back to Mobile where he was stationed. We weren't there at the right time to plant. I have a small garden here, with everything is in either pots or my two raised beds my parents built me for my birthday quite a few years ago.
I also help mom with the family garden. It is not as big as it was. After dad passed away, mom wasn't feeling like doing much gardening. This year she said she does want to plant again. I will help but not push(did that the last few years and it didn't go well)
I am so looking forward to fresh tomatoes and cucumbers-most never make it out of the garden. I just eat them right out there, just like when I was a kid.

I’ve read again, I finished both of my projects at 901 this evening. I had to cancel ceramics for this week.
I am quite proud of my work though. There are two boards and the binder. I figure it is about 35 hours of work in 3 days, thankfully it’s the weekend after I present tomorrow.
I’ll put the pics in a spoiler there are a few. The pictures in the binder, except the one with the “I want” pieces, I designed on the Cricut so it drew the picture and the name, I hand coloured them.

Great work, Tracey. Massive amount of work!
I was feeling a bit overwhelmed by the thought of having all the kids overnight. I talked it through with John this morning and he has offered to get the girls from school on his own.
I will go out to the shops after exercising and get extra food items. I'm making a big kids style Bolognese, and can cook two different kinds of pasta. Edie is gluten free. Will pick up more milk, rolls, and some avocados, eggs, raspberries or strawberries. Then just got to get beds and towels organised and put away anything incriminating. Hide Bea's birthday dress.
I thought for breakfast the girls would like California breakfast of avocado on brioche, or gf pitta, with poached egg.
Max will have bacon. My son is bringing round Bea's goats milk and cereal, along with their pyjamas etc.
Phew!
John does the heavy lifting of child care, so it all evens out.
My right leg was hurting all night and I was wide awake early. Better weather though.
I think I will start doing the twice daily BP tests on Sunday. Life is far too hectic!
My son and DDIL are going up to London. They have VIP tickets to a big, prestigious nightclub. Someone gave them to them. Balcony, drinks, etc. Wonder what celebrities will be there!

The person interviewed earlier this week has accepted position-they start in two weeks. It is while I am in vacation but I will have schedule set up to keep her busy. Will have a phone chat with her too.
Dinner last night was a typical business function-celebrating the community.
Meeting at 10:30 today off site then having lunch with a couple of people from it. May clock out early this pm and get a start on finishing some cleanup before kids come.

Heather - what great news, you must have really struck a chord with them. Sometimes it pays to be assertive - squeaky wheel and all that. So glad they are interested in getting your problem diagnosed and referred on to a vascular specialist if need be.
Sounds like the night with the kids will be fine. Very happy for you.
April - southern Indiana is beautiful. Calves and lambs - sure signs of spring. Hope you are feeling better.
Tracey - WOW, that binder is impressive. Very well done-your hard work will pay off.
Debbie - lovely photo of the swans and your wetlands. When I get the teleporter I'm going shopping at YOUR Safeway. Your DH finds such good deals. At my Safeway, the night deli crew gets busy pulling the meat off the rotisserie chickens that don't sell and they pack it into containers marked with a high price in the refrigerated section. I sometimes buy it if I'm in a hurry, I like the seasonings they use.
Annie - great job on the scale success. Smart thinking not to worry about your dad's taxes ahead of time.
Celebration - I spent a couple hours yesterday up and down a ladder many times (a very stable Gorilla ladder I purchased from Home Depot last year ) to staple (and hammer in the staples) 1/4" welded wire screen over vent holes along the top of the shop under the eave, where birds were getting in and dragging out pink insulation. I considered asking Roger to do it, but decided to give it a try myself. It was a stretch - working as high as I could reach standing on the top step of the ladder, but I managed to get half of them done. They aren't perfect, but should do the job. Pleased I had the leg strength to go up and down that ladder and arm strength to work overhead, especially using that heavy hammer without getting tired. I wouldn't have attempted this a year ago. Walking with weights is paying off in the leg and arm strength area. I took an ibuprofen when I went to bed last night and feel good today. Very grateful.
Taking away the keys - It appears my friend T's 89 y/o FIL who didn't want to give up driving has gotten the word from his cardiologist to hand over the keys, at least for now, because of all the medications he's taking. And he's obeying the doc. He has another appointment in 2 weeks so that buys time for him to get used to having others transport him where he wants to go. He might find out he likes it. I have a hunch the cardiologist will keep the pressure on.

Glasses - we should get our new glasses / lenses on about March 6. My husband has been wearing glasses with prisms since 2019. I'll try glasses with prisms on March 6!
That's also when I'll go through a bunch of testing to determine what's causing the double vision and if there is anything else wrong. A couple possibilities are: a. the cyst in my brain and b. Sjogren's syndrome and severely dry eyes.
In addition to the newly found double vision, I am short-sighted but my eyes are changing so that I went into multifocals a few years ago. Plus I have an astigmatism.
My eyes have been changing rapidly enough recently that I've had to get new lenses each year. That's how I missed the double vision. I just thought my eyes were just getting worse - more short sighted.
I'm a bit more worried about my husband potentially needing surgery for cataracts or developing glaucoma! I am not particularly squeamish about things ... but I do find eyes "oogy". I can't even think about contact lenses because they would involve touching my eye.
Those of you who said the double vision example is what you see when you go to your optometrists ... that's a worry!! What are the circumstances around seeing that? Is that what you are seeing before you go in?
Worked from home today!! I decided to work on my current uni course and got through 3 modules.
Went for a walk at lunch. That's our beach.
