Well, it was a thought @AlphaHowls , but apparently not a good one. That wrist looks like it was painful. So glad that you decided to get healthy. Hopefully you will stabilize now that you are doing the right things.
You did great @ContraryMaryMary ! That's a lot of gardening! Glad you got in a nice, long nap.
Sounds like you had a great run @Laurz9191 . Enjoy the taper.
@yirara Glad your muscle is working! Now you know you can run when you want to and the weather clears up.
Welcome @Knyvern ! Slow and easy is the way to go. You did great today!
Welcome @Emilienewme ! Nice goal and this is a great group you have joined.
Sounds like a fun run @emptydog and then a great nap.
Sounds like a great weekend @Scott6255 . Glad your son's GF's parents are nice.

April 1 - Walked 2.25 miles - Ran 0.00 miles - Gym 17 min
2.25/65 mile goal
I went to the gym I wanted to try out today. I think I will like it. The owner is really nice. Today, he just did an assessment of my fitness and said I was pretty fit already. That made me feel good. I did do a couple of things I've never tried before: Jump squats and TRX rows. He also did a Styku 3D Full Body Scan. If you've never had one, I'll just say they show you as you truly are! Nothing is hidden. It wasn't pretty, but I hope it will get better. He said they do those once a month. Today, my BMI was 24.9. Not horrible, but not the best either. It is at least in the healthy range, barely.
After that, I worked at daycare, mostly in the 2 year old class room. They can be a handful, but are smart and sweet and loving. I did my walk during my break. I was hoping to not sweat too much, since I was going back to work - reason I didn't run. It was pretty hot, and I did sweat enough as it was. Avg pace was 14:47 min/mile. Avg HR was 128 with a max of 154 bpm.7 -
April Goal: 130 Miles
4/1: 3.34 miles
3.34/130 miles completed for April
Thanks for setting us up @AlphaHowls. I'm in for 130 miles for April. I started the month off with 3.3 miles. It was pretty warm at about 72°F this morning. It's supposed to be about 56°tomorrow so it should be much nicer.

Hi everyone and greetings to those joining the group @Knyvern and @Emilienewme !
I went on an easy 7.2km run. I wanted to do more, but I will be good and follow the taper . It was windy and raining and also muddy and slippery in parts. I didn’t fall but I did slide around a bit.
16.3/200km for April.

Good morning everyone!
Got in 3.51 (at 10'16).
@Scott6255 thank you! Having a great time! Glad golf went well.
@martaindale NbA live, in the arena, is so awesome, right? Guessing you're a Rockets gal?
@shanaber love that you live a near a brewery.
@AlphaHowls so sorry to read about your sitch 🙁.
@TheMrWobbly you are killing it! Nearly there! 🙌🏽
So 1/2 way through.
Did 2 nights in Ft Laudy... Mostly just chilling with my friend. Brewery. He has a daughter my son's age so they just hung out in Sawgrass mall while we drank.
Did 2 nights in Atlanta... Packed in a fair bit. Brutal drive to get there. But... Got in: hawks v bucks, world of coca cola museum (literally my teeth were hurting from all the free samples), Jimmy Carter Presidential library (Argo was one of my favourite movies... And dragged the moody teen against his will), ate fried chicken at two black restaurants... Gus' and Hattie B's. Was good.
In Asheville now. Last night breweries. Didn't really bring any appropriate footwear for hiking so might pass on that.
Same again tonight 🍻🍻🍻
Have a great day all.
And now... I head out to brunch! 😂10 -
01.04 1.0km 7min 7:28/km - something
02.04 1.1km 8min 7:26/km - benchmark run
2.07km/80.5km
Still don't want to run too much to let my thigh incision heal properly. Decided to do a benchmark run for a 5 month running programme with my Garmin watch. Lets see if I manage to get to longer running distances again. Yay: the big graveyard I enjoy running over is open again. Meh: currently only until 19:00 but from next month longer.7 -
Nice run @kgirlhart . It's 80F (26.7C) here, but supposed to be below freezing again Sat and Sun morning. I love spring, but I wish it would level out with the temps a bit. LOL
Great running @Laurz9191 . Way to stick to the taper and glad you didn't fall!
Great running @yirara . You sure don't want to overdo it until the muscle heals.0 -
I ran 5.10 miles with a friend this morning. The temp was really warm at 63F. It will be short lived though as we have freezing rain and snow in the forecast for tomorrow night.5

April 1 - Walked 2.25 miles - Ran 0.00 miles - Gym 17 min
April 2 - Walked 2.25 miles - Ran 0.00 miles - Doubles tennis
4.50/65 mile goal
I got up early this morning to get in a driveway wun before heading out for brunch. Sound familiar? Yes, it was with @tarun_yadavA ! We were able to meet up in Hot Springs NC for a late breakfast/early lunch. That makes it brunch, just not the fancy kind, right? We had a great visit. We were a bit bummed that @Teresa502 couldn't join us, but work called.
Our brunch.
After we finished the meal, we walked the length of Hot Springs - maybe a tenth of a mile. It's a really, really small town where a lot of the hikers of the Appalachian Trail stop...the trail goes down main street. We stopped for a selfie by the mountain stream.
He very kindly brought me a gift of English candy. I stopped at mom's on the way home. She wanted to try it, so, as you can tell, the two smaller bars are gone! They were really good. We both really loved the Alibi Max! Thanks again Tarun!
I'm heading out to play tennis in a few minutes. We're playing indoors, but I hope we finish before the storms they are calling for hit the area.7 -
Wow. How awesome @quilteryoyo that you and @tarun_yadavA got to meet up.
Stunning morning here for running - crisp, clear, cool, a little bit misty - real autumn weather. However the sun is fairly low in the sky at 8:30am (daylight savings doesn’t finish till next weekend) so sun strike is really bad and as I was running up heartbreak hill, a car came past me and plowed straight into the back of a parked ute. Fortunately no one was hurt, but it gave me a horrible fright because it could’ve just as easily being a walker or another runner or a cyclist. The driver just simply couldn’t see because the sun was his eyes - although I’m not quite sure why he didn’t slow right down.7 -

I think this is the greatest thing I've ever read on MFP.
You two are important. This means a lot.8 -
That is so awesome @quilteryoyo and @tarun_yadavA y'all got to meet IRL!!! I know a good time was had by all (even if it was brunch) 😄
@ContraryMaryMary wow, that's scary! Glad you and everyone was OK.
Got in 7.5 miles this evening. Pretty decent run. Temp was a nice 63F, but 22mph NW wind made it challenging at times (going North and West) 😁

ALL ... I RECOMMEND WHERE/IF WE CAN... We should all endeavour to meet up where possible.
@quilteryoyo loved every second of this morning! Best Bloody Mary-less Brunch ever 😊❤️😊❤️

That is scary @ContraryMaryMary . I'm glad everyone was okay.
Awww. Thanks @chris_in_cal .
Hahaha @Scott6255 . Great running. The wind can make it so hard.
I thought so too @tarun_yadavA !
I did get to play tennis tonight! Yeah. It was fun. Lost one and won one. The one lost was done so in a tie break. So, it was fun and close games.4 -
April Goal: 130 Miles
4/1: 3.34 miles
4/2: 6.26 miles
9.6/130 miles completed for April
It was cooler this morning at 56°F. It should have been perfect running weather, but there were 21 mph winds from the NW. So it was kind of chilly and tough to run in. I did get 6.25 miles, but they were slow.
@tarun_yadavA and @quilteryoyo How fun that you got to meet up in real life.
@contrarymarymary That is so scary. I'm glad no one was hurt.

@tarun_yadavA and @quilteryoyo - Awesome that you were able to meet up! The candy looks delicious.
@tarun_yadavA - There are actually several breweries nearby here. We have only been to a handful of them as we aren't huge beer drinkers and tend more towards wines (no wineries nearby though). You can check the breweries out here https://www.orangecountyinsiders.com/blog/anaheim/breweries
I used to run along the river shown in the little La Palma Beer Trail map, under the Riverside Fwy and down to Lakeview.
I hope you don't have any issues with your trip and the storms coming that way. Be safe!!
I got out for an afternoon walk with Hobbes and it had really warmed up to around 75F. It is supposed to be in the 50's again by Thursday/Friday with more rain coming in.
Please everyone if you are in the path of the storms, stay safe!
Finally - not running related but here is a video I took at agility class with Hobbes last night. I ran him the 1st 2 runs, then handed him off to my friend who ran him the last 2 runs.5 -
Awesome that you @quilteryoyo and @tarun_yadavA got to meet up!!
Great photos!!
Waiting to see if we’ll get a chance to meet up today, or tomorrow. Fingers crossed.6 -
Haha... When Tarun meets up with me we are going for a RUN or WUN or something like that. Probably not this year but I know Austin will be in his travel sights (sites) one day.
What is an UTE? At first I thought animal. Then maybe parked vehicle. I refuse to google it tho. LOL.
Happy APril everyone. I haven't decided on my goal yet. Maybe I will just record and see where it goes.
Got 7 in yesterday morning and the weather was exactly perfect. It is also looking like it might NOT be cloudy and rainy for the eclipse next Monday. Getting a little excited.4 -
Hi everyone! I did an easy recovery 4.5km today on the treadmill because I didn’t want to get wet and muddy for such a short run. I’m so looking forward to my last long run tomorrow, although the weather forecast has been suggesting I will probably get drenched.
@tarun_yadavA and @quilteryoyo That is so cool that you met and had @tarun_yadavA ‘s favourite meal! What a special occasion. Im happy you could make it happen!!!
@ContraryMaryMary I‘m glad the car didn’t hit you! I hope the road becomes “sun” safer soon. Back when I was in high school, a fellow high school cross country friend/teammate of mine got hit and killed while running in a similar situation around sunset. The driver just couldn’t see. Please be careful out on the road!4 -
I mistakenly posted my first April run in the March thread
