Thank you all for the kind words and thoughts/vibes/prayers. We are hoping to see MIL fully awake today.
I don’t feel the desire to drink again, but I am struggling with food right now… I’m a comfort food junkie/ stress eater as well. Plus, because of everything our schedules are way off, so I haven’t been able to go for walks. I have to pull it together, or I’ll have another weight gain. 🙁
@SunnyDays930 and @lmlmrn you both are in my prayers as well.6 -

I know pacemakers aren’t as big a concern as they used to be. It’s just another thing we weren’t expecting. That’s all. Thank you for the encouragement. 🙂3 -

Having less A has eliminated my weird panicky 3:00 AM wake-ups - I am sleeping really well now!8 -
We went out to dinner with family last night. For the first time ever, I ordered a club soda in a wine glass with my dinner. It was satisfying, and I was so proud of myself! I would never have done that 1 month ago.
Tonight is casino night, though, so we'll see what happens.
Hope everyone is well going into the weekend!

Saw the total eclipse Monday, and it was just incredible! May be the most awe inspiring thing I’ve ever seen.
Only 2AF days so far this month. I bought the new Decoy low alcohol Sauvignon Blanc, will give that a try tonight and report back.

I've had a scare at my physical last week. My EKG (ECG) was abnormal. This probably means there is something wrong with my heart. Nothing like that kind of news to scare you straight. I won't really know for a few weeks as I can't get in with the cardiologist until May 20. (Dr said this was OK so in a way that may mean it is not so bad? Fingers crossed).
I have eliminated all alcohol, permanently. Alcohol is terrible for your heart, just Google it. I have also done my research on heart healthy food and that is what I am eating. Fruit, veggies, lean protein, fish. Pretty much what you expect.
Please send positive vibes my way. Thank you, everyone ! XO
That is really scary. Here’s a bright spot- if your doc thought it was that life threatening, he would have made sure you got into the cardiologist yesterday! So maybe take it as a good sign that it’s OK enough to wait for an appointment. Good on you for making changes right now though!!!2 -

@Michieb125
Sorry for the late response....been doing homework. So glad this is my last class. (ethics) Will be done the beginning of May. At 55 years old, I have to wonder why I put myself through this torture. I believe in always learning, but this is a bit much....anywho,
I have been a heavy drinker for the past few years and before that drank regularly for at least 20 years. It has taken a toll on my body....weight gain, (30 lbs) borderline high blood pressure and diabetes, and just didn't plain out feel good.
At this point, my goal is to be AF forever. I'll probably have an N/A beer from time to time, but I just don't wanna go back to wasting money (I have nothing to show for all that alcohol I bought), having alcohol make me crave junk food, (hence the weight gain), and ruin my liver and all my other organs. Alcohol is just not worth ruining my body. I want to give it all the nutritious, healthy food it needs. Honestly, there is nothing good about alcohol
I'm not totally sure exactly what it was that made me finally quit. I think a combo of things. I've tried to quit several times over the past couple of years. I've watched and read a lot of Annie Grace's stuff and read many books on quitting....that alone didn't do it. I finally got tired of the hold that it had on me. I hated how I slacked off on working out, wrecked my diet, and never slept well. My kids were another reason. I want to be a good example to them altho it may be too late. I noticed that it was making me look tired and hated the way I looked. I finally started praying to God for the strength to quit and shortly after that, I quit. Feb. 4.
Since then, I feel so much better, sleep amazing, and I'm back at the gym crushing it. I'm losing weight and enjoy eating healthy food again. The whites of my eyes have gotten brighter too. My energy level is through the roof. I forgot what that felt like. So glad I'm back there again.
I am 5'3" and weigh 145 lbs. My healthy weight is around 115-120. Oh forgot to mention, I can't get my wedding ring off and I am tired of not fitting in my clothes and having to buy more.
Not sure I answered your question and probably shared too much.

@NonnieDoiron
How is your MIL? Good job on your AF days!!!
@SparkSpringtime69
Way to go on your numbers and being consistent with posting. I'm so busy with homework that I haven't had time to come here and post.
I'm still doing well with the no sugar and no N/A beer. I did have a diet root beer tho. It was in the house and couldn't resist. I'm not a soda drinker, but if there's a diet root beer around, I'm all over it. My all time favorite soda is Birch Beer. Can't get it here in TN, thank goodness, but when I would visit family in PA, I would grab one any chance I could get. I think soda is almost as bad as alcohol, but every once in a while is ok, right?4 -
@Womona
You're so lucky to have seen the eclipse. It was cloudy in TN so I didn't get to see it. I hope there will be another one or some sort in my lifetime.
It's funny how some people like wine and others like beer and others like the hard stuff. I liked both beer and the hard stuff. I was picky about beer tho. I liked porter and stout beers no matter what time of year. The same goes with the hard stuff. My favorite was mixing Whipped Vodka with ChiChi's premixed Mudslide. Looking back, I think I have a love for chocolate...LOL.5 -
Good morning all
@I_am_motivated Sounds like you're doing amazing! Thanks for the "overshare" as I'm sure many of us can relate. Keep on keeping on!
We went to the casino last night. I had 3 glasses of wine and topped them all with club soda to make them last longer as we usually stay for hours. 3 glasses in 4 hours is amazing for me! Normally, I'm flagging down servers every 30 minutes or so. I don't feel the urge to go buy a bottle for the house or drink anything today. I know it's only been 2 weeks, but I feel better about LA than I have in 20 years! I feel like I might be able to do this.
