Its been a busy day!
Barbie - have you recorded the Community Property Agreement yet? Once that's done, I don't think there's any hurry to grab the wills. My DH's will was void after he died as the Agreement took precedence and everything passed directly to me. As far as the other legal documents, I think photocopies are OK. I waited until after DH had passed to record the Agreement - and discovered the recording fees had skyrocketed. Right now I have my own will in my safe here, but I'm thinking I might give it to my executor T to put in HER safety deposit box if she's willing. She's the one who'll need it anyhow.
Will try to catch up tomorrow. You ladies have been busy and interesting!

So far, nothing special today. Vince’s new tractor was delivered. It’s raining off and on so I probably won’t get to go for a walk
Annie and everyone else – I’m just fine, thanks for asking. We’ll probably take the car to be fixed either today or tomorrow
Kim – what a day you had. I can understand why your mother feels the way she does, but that’s really no help for you. When it rains, it pours, eh? Hugs, dear friend
Leslie – welcome. Don’t feel that you have to answer each an every post, just the ones that you are interested in and want to. No one answers them all
I got in the car this morning and, boy, were the headlights very bright. I’m questioning now if for some reason for the accident was that the automatic headlights weren’t working
Rusty – flowers sound like a real good treat. Honestly, I don’t know if I could do that. I’d probably want to stop for a milkshake or an ice cream.
Got Jess 3 of the 1qt serving bowls which came the other day and 1 of the 2qt ones that came today. I’ll give them to her for christmas. The serving bowls she has are chipped. She really needs something nicer
Debbie – I’m sorry to hear about your cat. I hope he comes back soon. Sorry to hear about your friend’s grandson.

well, spoke too soon- MIL and Dh got into it today, really bad- Fighting about everything(all stupid in my opinion). He came home in such a bad mood. Cussing like crazy(this is something he knows really bothers me)- F-bomb every other word. Thankfully he is calming down back in his room.
Wonder how things will be when we go over to his mom's in the morning.4 -
Lanette my concern was about our daughter if we are both gone. I have everything and know where everything is. No, we haven't recorded the community property agreement but the original is in the safe deposit box and copies are in our house

Our wills are with our lawyer. They'll also do the executor tasks, or assist with them if necessary.

He must enjoy the fights too ... or else he would just walk out.

Good morning ladies!
There must have been an animal in the yard because Teddy was barking like crazy. I let him out at 5:30 in the morning. I'm sorry for the neighbors but I can't stop him from barking. He is usually quiet. I could stay in bed until six.
Debbie I'm sorry about your little cat. Hope he is okay.
I weigh 178.1 today, down .7 from last Friday. The right direction but slower than I intended. Hmm.
Today I need to start looking at my Dad's beneficiaries. If I can get those changed, we should be able to avoid probating his will when the time comes. Everything financial passes to my sister who will split it up. Still, a daunting task.
Then Dad has physical therapy at 1:20. So plenty to do. It's supposed to rain.
Have a fabulous day, my friends! May you be happy, healthy, safe, and free!

I posted a photo of the front stairs of our new place, but said there are two other ways into the house that have fewer stairs ...
Looking from the gym into the laundry room ...
Onto the deck ...
It wouldn't be difficult to build a ramp onto the deck.
And an experiment ... a little "painting" with paint-like pens ...

Good morning from Yorkshire England
I am in awe at some of the arts and crafts people are sharing on here. I am not the slightest bit crafty but I do enjoy painting with acrylics from time to time. I have ideas but am sadly lacking in application for anything crafty. My skills are more culinary and may be a contributing factor in why I need to lose so much weight!
I weighed this morning as I am starting with Mounjara weightloss injections today and wanted a baseline. I have a looooooooong way to go to get anywhere near a healthy BMI and although I am not too concerned about the numbers on the dial it was nice to see that the scales are moving down.
1.8kg / 4lbs down since Monday and although I know it's mostly water it still made me smile.
Anniesquats100 a loss is a loss as they say so well done!
My husband provided the flowers to cheer me up and i am just about to call the social worker.
My eldest arrives for the weekend tonight and is bringing a girlfriend home for the first time so that's going to be nice.
Hope you all have a lovely Friday7 -
Wonderful morning with Edie. We started with crochet, but she really couldn't get the hang of it, so we went on to acrylic painting on small canvas boards. I wanted to try out my new pink and purple paints.
I think Edie's moon in the lake picture is great. She took the photo.
I went all Monet for the colours.
We had a lot of fun, and I used my new table easel. I've only done one or two acrylics before, so I'm very much learning.
Then we went back to the crochet, and both made progress.
An excellent morning!
Waitrose delivery this afternoon, then I'm going to make broccoli/leek soup to use up all the stuff we have in the fridge. I will fry a bit of chorizo to cheer it up. Have it with cheese on toast for dinner when John comes home.
Machka - Well, done on the painting pens! So good to be creative. Very satisfying.

Just Give Me 10 Days: Round 256- Apr 6-15
SW RND - 215; GW - 155 (Female- Age 56)
Newbie
Logging Trend Weight
Goals:
- Plan food daily and work the plan.
- Fast 12 hours dinner to breakfast.
- Do 30 minutes of dedicated exercise 5 days a week.
4/6 - 215 - Sleep issues and night eating associated with insomnia are my biggest focus. Its pushed me to gain so much weight in the last year. Very hard habit to break.
4/7 - 213.9 - Clearly a drop in water weight but I'll take it. Worked the plan well yesterday through dinner. However, I did eat a protein bar in the wee hours, so I had to restart my 12 hour fasting window over.
4/8- 213.3 -Lifted some weights, lots of steps, eating on point with a lot of veggies and protein. Still struggling with eliminating the night snacking.
4/9 - 213.2- Eclipse party. No alcohol. Stayed within calorie range but not the healthiest foods. Lot of steps and outside much of the day. Slept better.
4/10 - 212.9 - Perfect day yesterday and slept through night. Lots of veggies and protein and no food off plan.
4/11 - 212.8 - Okay day - no breakfast; lentil chicken bowl for lunch but added a small brownie; chicken nachos for dinner. Not the healthiest overall but within calories. Hard to get to sleep, but then slept well. Did have a protein bar in the evening.
4/12 - 213 - Busy day at work, catered lunch and dinner and drinks out. Stayed reasonable but not perfect. Bump up on scale.

Happy Friday everyone. Welcome to the new people this is a great place for friendship and support.
This has been a week from ****. Started last Sunday when I got out of church and a police officer from Lincoln called to tell me my car was in an accident on Saturday in the Scheels parking lot. DH and I were not in the car, but our friend with us waited in the car. From what I understand she opened the door and the wind caught it and hit the car next to us and make a big dent. She never said anything about it, so when the police called I was not sure what he was talking about and then he tried to bully me. I finally said I was not agreeing to anything until I saw the pictures and talked to the person in the back seat. Next day his sargent called me and theaten to file charges against me. I told them my insurance company was dealing with it and would find out what happened.
Then Wednesday I spent the morning at our local court house for jury duty. must say I was not impressed. Good thing I was not picked for this jury and was sent home just before noon. I still could be called again until the end of May.
Lisa--I love your planter box.
Heather--Sorry you are having so much pain. Glad you have your suguries scheduled.
Sue--So happy you got the tenant out. Just be careful as she sounds crazy.
Macka--Happy for you and your new house. May you have many years of happy memories there.
Beth--Hope all goes well with getting your mom moved. Sending hugs and prayers.
Carol--Sorry about your brother. I know it was hard when my sister passed it seems so unreal.
Rebecca--I understand about your wanting to just stay home. I am getting that way more all the time.
Glad you and your sister talked about things. It is not easy, but worth it.
Flea--Glad you have your mom's estate done.
Barbara--Thanks for the update on Katla. Sounds like she is doing well.
Kim--Glad you vented. Sometimes all we need is someone to listen and not judge.
Well I have the next 3 days off and have a bone desinty test on Monday. Last Monday both doctor appointments went well. Did change some meds around. Doctor added a new one for mood, the pharmacy called and said it was $164 for 3 months and that they had a coupon bringing it down to $10. That's crazy. I know once the coupon expires I will not be taking it .

Annie ... you said: "Everything financial passes to my sister who will split it up." This sounds unusual to me. On my mother's will (and my late father's will), which I am the executor of, everything is to be divided equally between my brother and I. Since my father's passing, as we changed account ownership into my mother's name only (I am also their POA/fiduciary agent), I have turned all eligible assets into TODs (Transfer on Death) with my brother and I as the beneficiaries to avoid probate. There will be one account, however, that will not be a TOD. Still, according to my mom's will, it will be divided equally between my brother and I. I will not become the owner of that account and then give my brother half of it. Based on your dad's financial status and/or the state you live in, your sister could face paying an unfair share of taxes on those assets. I would look into this to avoid misunderstandings later. But then I like to have things very clear and concise when it comes to things like this.
Machka ... lovely house!
Yesterday's family meeting regarding my mom was as I expected. She is traveling down the road to memory care or skilled/long-term care. The next few weeks will determine which road. She cannot stay at her current facility's memory care unit if she requires two people to transfer. She is getting weaker , so she's currently in a therapy program to see if she can remain a one-person lift. Praying she can do this and hoping she is cooperative with the therapy. Nursing home/skilled/long-term care is grim in my area and incredibly expensive as I shared earlier.

You're doing well!
My exercise has fallen off this month because I haven't been at work in the office as much. When I'm in the office, I climb stairs and usually go for a walk at lunch.
But when I worked at home yesterday, I did spend my lunch hour in the garden.
Today, I helped move plants into our new garden, climbed 42 individual steps, and did a bit of work in our current garden.
Better than nothing!

Agreed. If the account passes to the sister, the money is legally the sisters. She is under no obligation to split it. My Dads wishes were for his money to be split. The account went to me but I split it like a good daughter 😇

Vicki Thank you for your story. My friend is coming this Saturday with her daughter to view DH car. She is saying if they buy the car and I trusted her to go to DMV to change title we could finish up possibly Saturday. My stance is I want her daughter to look at it. Do a short drive with a licensed driver in the car she has her permit. Then go home and think about it and on Tuesday we will go into DMV together if the daughter is interested in the car. I still have an interested neighbor that I have not said anything to my friend. If both fall through Carmax here I come. The husband seems to think a bill of sale is enough proof that something should happen before they go to DMV. Not for me no matter who I sell the car to they will not get the car until the transfer of title is proven to me! I want to stay friends with her.
I did put in a complaint about how the DH account was handled by the business I have been dealing with for almost three months. I am double checking everything they do. Hopefully by next Tuesday everything will finally be in order. Yes Lisa this account was in our trust. It was a case of switching me to the primary holder of the account. When the person who was supposed to be handling my account did not even get my first name right and did not attach the form she said needing correcting that is when I said enough is enough! So I did go on record with a complaint!6 -
