Hope you can get some rest during your taper @Laurz9191!
7 miles this morning. Was a little chilly 48F, so wore long pants and long sleeve tek shirt. Felt comfortable for the 1st mile, but then regretted the long pants and long sleeves by mile 2. You'd think I've learned how to dress after 14 years of running.

I feel so far behind but I am reading...
The clouds parted enough for me to see the eclipse on Monday to include the diamond and full for just a few seconds. It got really dark and my Purple Martins all flew into their gourds. LOL. It is just one of those once in a lifetime events which blows your mind. Hard to get back to work after.
Set my goal for 100 again but really I want to try to include some speed work still before it heats up too much.

Wow @eleanorhawkins . No wonder you haven't been commenting here much. That's a lot. You have my condolences on the loss of your grandmother. I hope the new job works out.
@Scott6255 . It's so hard to figure out clothing, esp if you are like me and hate to be cold. I always dress too warmly, but I would much rather sweat than freeze.
Nice running between the rain @mari333a .
@yirara Nice running. I hope it starts to feel better soon.
Great running @SummerSkier !
I hope you are doing okay and recovering @7lenny7 ! On pins and needles waiting for your race report.5 -

I worked at daycare today, in the 4 - 5 year old class. I love those kids, but days like this test my patience. When I got home, I was hungry and tired, so I decided to walk one mile and run one on the treadmill before having dinner. The run was at an avg pace of 13:02 min/mile. Not too bad.
My neck is almost back to normal. Still don't have full range of motion, but it is getting there.7 -
Hello everyone!
Got in 5 (at 09"25).
@quilteryoyo - glad to hear neck is back to normal! (And my mother is literally the worst for healthy eating!)
@Laurz9191 best of luck!!! 🤞🏽🙏🏽
fingers crossed for you... Thumbs pressed too, even!

eleanorhawkins wrote: »@quilteryoyo Thank you. It's going to get crazier before it gets better... I have the last of the local road race series on Sunday, fly to the UK for my grandmother's funeral next week, possibly start a new job when I get back, we're hiking another Camino de Santiago the first week in May for our anniversary, my 60km ultra is on May 18th, then I have another race mid-June... and somehow in between all the above I need to get these crazy long training run/hike/climb/scrambles in LOL.
@eleanorhawkins sorry to hear about your grandmother0 -
@eleanorhawkins My condolences. I am also sorry to hear about your grandmother.
@tarun_yadavA Yes, people press their thumbs here for luck. It’s a favorite phrase of mine to directly translate into English because it just sounds so odd.
I’m not supposed to run today. It feels weird after running so little this week. I’m pretty excited about the marathon. The weather is supposed to be about 15C or 59 Fahrenheit Sunday, so that is warmer weather than I’m used to, but pretty much an ideal running temperature. Just still figuring out what I want to wear. Compression socks or short socks? Tank top/T-shirt/long sleeve base layer? I know in the end it won’t make a difference, but I want to make the “right” choice .7 -
@eleanorhawkins very sorry to hear of your grandmother’s passing. Your training and runs continue to amaze me!
@Laurz9191 Daumen drücken!
@SummerSkier great mileage so far this month! Would love to see photos of your Purple Martins in/near their gourd homes.
@quilteryoyo glad to hear you’re on the mend.
Nice pace for your run this morning @tarun_yadavA!
@mari333a glad for you that the rain paused enough for you to get a run in!
@Scott6255 nice 7-miler yesterday! I know what you mean regarding what to wear, and how it ends up being a bit too much at times. April weather here varies so much. Each week of training’s been so different. Hard to know what it’ll be like for my 10K race a week from tomorrow. (Yikes! It’s almost here!)
Did some cross training at home yesterday. Traded that with today’s schedule so that I can do a 5K Saturday (tomorrow) morning that I signed up for. It’s a fund raiser for a group of students at our local high school.
Had some strong rains and thunderstorms yesterday afternoon and last night. Wind is still whipping around with strong gusts.6 -

Good luck!9 -
Sorry to hear about the loss of your grandmother @eleanorhawkins.
Good luck @Laurz9191! I think a long-sleeve shirt in that temperature for 26 miles would be too much for me. Do you have an old long-sleeve shirt that you can start in over the top of a short-sleeve or tank and then ditch the long-sleeve after the first mile or two?
Good luck and have fun with your 5K @Daria0919!
Glad your neck is doing better @quilteryoyo.
I'm off on another hiking adventure this weekend. Hope everyone has a great one!7 -
Enjoy your hike @Teresa502!!3

Thanks @tarun_yadavA . Great running.
Pressing my thumb? Never heard of that before. Nonsense to me. But, if that is what it takes @Laurz9191 , You've got it. Sounds like great conditions for the marathon. Can't wait to hear how you do.
Good luck on your 5K tomorrow @daria0919 !
Thanks @Teresa502 ! I hope you have great weather for your hike. Today is really windy and cool, but tomorrow and Sunday are supposed to be great here. Hope that is the case where ever you are going. Looking forward to hearing about it.
Good luck with your running program @yirara !
Great running @AlphaHowls . Did I miss something as to why you are staying up on the balls of your feet? The wind is awful here today too.

24.50/65 mile goal
I got up early this morning with the intention of going to the gym, running some errands, and running once I got home. But, I had tummy issues instead, so am mostly lounging on the couch. I did go down for a treadmill walk early this afternoon and have felt better once I finished. At this point, though, I'm just going to call it a lazy recovery day and pick up again tomorrow. My neck is a little better than it was yesterday. I can still feel it, but pretty sure I could play tennis if I had to....which I don't have scheduled until Sunday afternoon. Almost full range of motion.6 -

No, just working to stay up and see if it makes a difference in the back pain.

I hope it helps @AlphaHowls !2
